32 Trend-Right Fall Jackets and Coats to Snag for $150 (or Less!)

Nippy temps, extra-cozy layers and must-have toppers go hand-in-hand during a season dominated by fall traditions and pumpkin-spice everything. As the remaining summer days fade away and the arrival of October ushers in #sweaterweather, some transitional layers will be in order. Think: a field jacket for a tailgate at your alma mater, a duster coat for the nine-to-five grind and a trusty wool jacket in a punchy hue for when the temperatures dip low. Thankfully, you don’t have to spend a fortune this season to look like a bonafide street starlet. Scroll down for 32 must-have jackets and coats for fall you can snag for $150 or less. Cue the happy dance as you stock your fall capsule wardrobe with all the cold-weather staples you’ll need to keep the outfit blahs at bay. You’re welcome.

1. Front Row Shop Pink V-Neck Overcoat ($102): Not having at least one pink coat on standby should be a crime. Pull this sassy number out for a mundane Monday or Sunday brunch with the girls. Proceed to embrace Jenna Lyons-inspired styling by tossing it on alongside a cable-knit sweater, a chambray shirt, printed brocade trousers and chunky block heels. The side slits and v-neck style make this pretty-in-pink statement piece one to watch.

2. Mango Wool-Blend Coat ($130): Who needs a cerulean sweater when you can rock a wool-blend coat with this much look-at-me appeal? Between the eye-catching hue and oversized pockets, this stunner will never steer you wrong. Faux-fur steppers and a fluorescent camera bag not required, but definitely art director-approved.

3. ASOS Cropped Bomber With Badges in Jersey ($46): Take it to the streets with this sporty varsity-striped bomber that would do Gigi Hadid proud. While the badges bring a youthful twist, it’s the cropped fit that will have you coveting a mock-neck top and some white tennies. Chic for the weekend has never looked so good.

4. Zara Oversized Parka ($100): Don’t back down now: If you’ve got something to say, you might as well let your off-the-clock parka do the talking. Whether you team it with embroidered jeans or go full-on glam with a sequined dress and ankle boots for a bachelorette party, there’s no question you’ll slay this fall.

5. J.Crew Excursion Vest With Corduroy Trim ($128): Let’s hear it for this timeless quilted vest (in navy, no less!) that even non-preppy girls will love. Fit to flatter, this layering staple is just the thing for chilly days when you want to stay warm, but don’t want to show up dressed like an eskimo. Between fall tailgates, Oktoberfest parties and a trip to the vineyard, it’ll come to the rescue time and time again. Don’t even get us started about that corduroy collar. Major swoon.

6. Topshop Badged Jersey Blazer ($80): Ditch the matchy-matchy power suits and blazers with padded shoulders for this menswear-inspired varsity blazer that’s corporate AF. It’s polished enough to sport to the office with an LBD, yet casual enough for grabbing drinks downtown. The collegiate-style lion badge will make for a rawr-tastic statement come happy hour.

7. TNA Borders Jacket ($95): A wear-everywhere, water-repellent puffer for dressing effortlessly on the daily? Count us in, please. No bulk, no frills — this army green jacket will never do you wrong.

8. Tobi Anabel Wool Coat ($132): Cue the comfy-cozy vibes with this contemporary camel coat that’s equal parts classic and edgy. (We’re partial to the oversized fit.) The wide black collar will straight-up stun at a black tie affair, or even just a scenic walk through Central Park to admire the fall foliage. A blanket scarf and felt fedora are non-negotiable for an Instababe-approved #OOTD.

9. Zara Checked Coat ($129): Ready or not, here comes fall weather! Don’t wait until the last minute to snag the seasonal checked coat of your dreams. News flash: It will sell out come the first sign of frigid temps. Besides, a topper this versatile is bound to pay for itself — wear it for your morning commute, a slew of holiday parties and even pumpkin picking.

10. J.Crew Polka-Dot Tulle-Trimmed Cotton-Twill Jacket ($140): This is NOT your everyday twill jacket. With a polka dot tulle hem, it’s actually 10 times more glam — AKA perfect for us girly girls with a penchant for frilly things. (But don’t be mistaken, the utilitarian style is just as versatile for off-duty babes.) For a dialed-down look worthy of a trip to the apple orchard, pair it with a fisherman sweater, skinny jeans and suede ankle booties.

11. Zara Mandarin Collar Frock Coat ($129): Prim and proper is the name of the sartorial game this season. When you just don’t feel like getting all gussied up in a floor-grazing gown (been there, done that), opt for this navy frock coat featuring a mandarin collar. The signature gold buttons will fit in at any dinner party, especially when styled with white skinny jeans and cognac riding boots for a considerably preppy look.

12. Mango Faux-Fur Collar Trench ($130): Introducing the whimsical trench that will make you *wish* for rainy days. As if the head-turning faux fur collar wasn’t enough, the cheeky ‘90s-style patches will give you a reason to chuckle on less-than-sunny days. Style it for your nine-to-five with an anything-but-blasé button-down and black culottes.

13. River Island Leopard Coat ($129): ‘Cause word on the street is that leopard pieces are having a moment and, naturally, a fierce animal print coat is obligatory. Not only does this stylish topper put the va-va in the voom, but it has the ability to turn any outfit from drab to fab. Toss a wool knit sweater and hoop earrings into the equation for a look that demands attention.

14. Mango Animal Design Coat ($150): Take a walk on the wild side with this entrance-making zebra print coat that’s safari-chic at its best. DO plan on being spotted a mile away and getting your pic snapped by admirers as you style your new hero piece with boyfriend jeans and lace-up ghillies.

15. First & I Belted Coat ($56): Minimalist enthusiasts, unite! You don’t need all the bells and whistles to make a lasting first impression this season. Meet the oversized gray topper of your dreams that will give your stay-at-home snuggie a run for its money. *Adds to cart.*

16. Madewell Catskills Jacket ($118): This just in: You will inevitably reach for this cool girl-approved military jacket on more occasions than you can count. Whether you’re just out walking your pup or heading for a glam-cation with your girls, this lightweight topper will be a godsend. For a flawless outfit formula, proceed to pair it with a plaid button-down, high-waisted jeans, duck boots and a leather tote. REPEAT.

17. H&M Long Sleeveless Coat ($129): Is it an overcoat? It is a longline vest? It’s actually both. Get the best of both worlds with this dreamy gray sleeveless coat that can be slipped on over a ribbed knit sweater and black skinnies in two seconds flat. You can transition it for the evening with chandelier earrings, an itty-bitty bucket bag and a seasonal PSL in hand.

18. Forever 21 Boxy Trench Coat ($50): Werk it with this gorgeous mauve trench coat that will accompany you to the boardroom and beyond. The boxy silhouette makes it appropriate for both day and night, but we’re partial to a Kardashian-approved bodycon dress and ankle-strap steppers.

19. ASOS Cotton Jacket With Bomber Back Detail ($121): Dial it way down with this next-level navy and red bomber that will make you look (and feel) like a total babe. Throw in a throwback cropped hoodie, a beanie and some high-top kicks for a weekend getup that would make HR cringe in disapproval. Sorry, boss.

20. MINKPINK Fine Side Sherpa Bomber Jacket ($149): Run, don’t walk, to snag this carrot-hued sherpa jacket that looks downright snuggly. Take note: This is what you wear for dinner and a movie (just toss on a fit and flare skirt) or a trip to the farmers’ market (jeans and a tee will do). Style it with trend-right accessories like a mini bucket bag and metallic loafers for a look that says trying, but not trying too hard.

21. Forever 21 Don’t Look Back Graphic Jacket ($73): It’s man-repelling statement pieces like this graphic jacket that make us want to break all the rules. Team it up with a holographic mini, retro shades and combat boots, and your message will read loud and clear.

22. Topshop Contrast Panel Duster Coat ($135): Say buh-bye to the conundrum of dressing in between seasons — this army green duster coat is just right for chilly mornings and seemingly balmy afternoons. Make a dramatic entrance by tossing this bad boy over some denim cutoffs and Chelsea boots, or style it for after-hours with a jersey midi dress and cool kicks.

23. & Other Stories Petite Velvet Jacket ($95): Now here’s an early-fall jacket that has us crushing hard. This lavish velvet topper is the secret weapon in disguise that will take every outfit from zero to 100 with minimal effort. Team it with a velvet button-front skirt or go normcore with a white tee, mom jeans and ugly-pretty glove shoes.

24. Express Black Bomber With Patches ($128): Bomber jackets? For fall? Groundbreaking. Usher in some post-festival season swagger with this lightweight bomber featuring rad patches. Day or night, it’s guaranteed to lend a tough-girl ‘tude to every getup — be it a sultry slip dress or leather joggers.

25. Mango Quilted Feather Coat ($130): You laugh now, but come Black Friday, you’ll be so happy you invested in a heavy-duty quilted coat to shield you against the elements. Sure, you may feel like you’re dressed like a marshmallow, but trust us — the result will be SO chic. That shade of red is seriously boss.

26. Zara Silver-Toned Sweatshirt-Style Jacket ($70): Blending in is overrated: Embrace a galactic vibe this season a la this fashion-forward metallic jacket with major athleisure undertones. Be it an overcast day or a post-gym outing, nothing says girl-on-the-go like a baseball cap, lace-up leggings and monochromatic kicks.

27. Forever 21 Striped Varsity Jacket ($25): Usher in some schoolgirl charm with this green and mustard striped varsity jacket that will have you embracing a Taylor Swift-inspired look circa 2012. Pair it with a crop top, some high-waisted suede shorts and Oxford flats FTW.

28. H&M Wool-Blend Coat ($129): When is red not considered chic in the outerwear department? A streamlined wool coat in #girlboss red is exactly what the doctor ordered for lazy fall mornings when you just can’t deal. Slip this streamlined topper over paperbag-waist trousers and kicky loafers for a fierce look that doesn’t mess around.

29. The Fifth Paint Palette Coat ($150): Your fall outerwear should serve two purposes: to keep you toasty and looking fly. This wine-colored topper featuring a streamlined silhouette and tie-waist requires zero effort. Seriously, nada! Team it with a laid-back-chic denim dress and sneakers on your most off-duty days, or toss it over a jumpsuit for date night.

30. Zara Metallic Leather Jacket ($149): Get ready to dial up the drama with this RiRi-approved metallic leather jacket that will make people stare for all the right reasons. Channel a rock ‘n’ roll vibe by styling it with a vintage band tee and black distressed jeans, or opt for a tie-front blouse and a twirl-worthy accordion pleat skirt to keep your ultra-femme sensibilities in check.

31. Kimchi Blue Zola Faux Fur Cropped Bomber Jacket ($139): Girl, you’re going to be so ahead of the fashion curve with your after-hours-ready faux fur jacket. This dark green boxy topper is worthy of a fall soiree involving drop-waist dresses and disco glam jumpsuits. All you’re missing is some modern-day go-go boots.

32. Mango Check Wool-Blend Coat ($80): Be still our hearts: This buffalo plaid topper is giving us ALL the heart eyes. Channel major lumberjack vibes by throwing this cold weather staple on with a turtleneck sweater, a leather mini and OTK boots for a getup that works its magic around the clock. TBH, you’ll never want to take it off.

Break out your wallets because I have the best sweaters you should be wearing this fall and winter! If I sound overly confident it's because I genuinely love to shop and have every knit style you can think of in my closet. From cardigans to the dreaded — but stylish! — turtleneck options, I could become a sweater connoisseur.

Since I'm not willing to give up my day job for that title just yet, here's the best no-fail trends that look good on everyone. Plus I added a few shoppable options for anyone who doesn't have time to find the best picks for each trend.

Cozy Sweater Trends For All Body Types

1. Cable Knit

Jasmine Williams

I know it's fall when I start seeing cable knit sweaters appear online and in-store. I sound like a broken record, but they're a classic staple that everyone should have in their closets because they're:

  • Unisex
  • Cozy
  • Flattering

You can always go for the oversized When Harry Met Sally look, or you can opt for a sleeker fit. The choice is always yours, but here's a little inspo if you're not sure which cable knit sweaters to get:

Amazon

Oversized Cable Knit Sweater

The burgundy trend is alive and practically running fall — hence this beautiful cable knit sweater. Aside from the color, it falls in line with the oversized option I was talking about. This makes it a versatile piece that be styled with a mini pleated skirt, a cute satin number, or even leather leggings.

MANGO

MANGO Braided Sweater

Bypass the color and opt for a cream sweater that's really going to give you that late '80s, early '90s fall style appeal. Since it's neutral, you'll be able to wear underneath a gorgeous burgundy or hunter green coat without compromising the detailed braided pattern on it.

GAP

Mixed Cable-Knit Sweater

Do we hear Mariah Carey trilling beautifully in her "All I Want For Christmas" song or is this sweater deceiving us? How about this: two things can be true at once. And, you get to look cute while putting up holiday decorations because I know you've been looking for a red sweater.

2. Cardigan

Cora Pursley

We're in our grandma eras because we love wearing cardigans, right? I'd argue and say that's not true, but some of us don't mind the foxy grandma style we've adopted.

Cardigans are always going to be top-tier because you can wear them on the days it's cool in the morning and warm in the afternoons. The thickness of their fabric will determine how much you're able to layer with it, but it's not hard to pick the perfect one based on the weather.

Don't believe me? Look at these picks!

Target

Cozy Knit Button-Down Cardigan

Sometimes all a girl really needs is a cute cardigan that she can wear as many times as her heart desires. Lucky for you, I saw this adorable one while looking for table lamps on Target...clears throat.

Amazon

Cable Knit Embroidered Cardigan

Cardigans don't have to be boring, especially when your style isn't! This one's specifically for anyone who lives a colorful life and likes for their outfits to follow suit.

BloomChic

Reindeer And Snow Cardigan

I promise I'm not rushing Christmas, but look at this cardigan! It has cute little reindeer and snowflakes all over it! How could I ignore someone's chance at having the greatest holiday sweater? Clearly I couldn't because you're probably looking at this and smiling too.

3. Striped Sweater

Cora Pursley

If you want that naturally preppy fall look, a striped sweater is your best option. It's one of the easiest pieces to style because it serves as the main focal point of an outfit. Here's a few Thanksgiving outfit ideas that you can pull off wearing this trend:

  • Lightweight trench coat, striped sweater, straight-leg jeans, Mary Jane flats
  • Leather jacket, striped sweater, satin skirt, New Balance sneakers
  • Oversized striped sweater, bootcut jeans, and ankle boots
Here are a few picks to get you started:

Amazon

Crewneck Striped Sweater

The fun thing about striped sweaters is that they come in a variety of sizes. The thicker lines create a new dimension that works great for the oversized look IMO. You can take this sweater and wear it over a unitard, or you tuck the front into a pair of skinny jeans.

Target

Crewneck Pullover Sweater

This pullover sweater has 'from the office to happy hour' vibes and I really like that. It's a great universal piece that isn't confined to one environment or event...AKA you need a striped sweater that's as adaptable as you are.

GAP

Shrunken Roll Neck Sweater

Again, this is strictly for my girls who love the color pink. At my core, I can't stay away from this color so I don't try anymore. Though it's vibrant, this sweater still feels preppy enough to be worn to your work or your company's country club gathering.

4. V-Neck

Katrin Bolovtsova

Show me a v-neck sweater that doesn't love all body types so I can have a word with it, please. I like this universal style because sometimes you want a different neckline outside of the usual 'crew' option some sweaters have.

J.Crew

Relaxed V-Neck Sweater

Look, grey isn't boring. I thought it was, but it has great potential if you're willing to work with it. Like cream or black, this sweater can be used as a neutral component of your outfit. Think black military coat and knee high boots. Bubblegum pink wool outerwear and silver shoes. Do you see where I'm going with this?

Target

V-neck Pullover Sweater

You can always err on the side of caution and go for a taupe v-neck sweater that doesn't cause a lot of commotion. I love how this almost seems like it could've been a cropped top, but instead sits right at the waist. This makes it easier to pair with bootcut jeans.

Quince

Quince Mongolian Cashmere Oversized V-Neck Sweater

When it comes to sweaters, who doesn't want a little cashmere in their closet? Unfortunately cashmere can be prohibitively expensive, BUT Quince has great — and quality — options at a much lower price point. I love this oversized look for those chilly days when you just wanna bundle up into something comfortable, but stylish.

5. Turtleneck Sweater

Jasmine Williams

I have a love/hate relationship with turtleneck sweaters that stem from childhood. For the oddest reason, I used to think they were choking me and would give my mom the meanest side eye each time she'd make me wear one. However, I willingly wear them as an adult. Do I appreciate the snug feeling around my neck? No, but they look amazing when paired with leather pants or skirts.

Here are some of my faves right now!

ModCloth

Woodstock Wanderer Sweater

Taps microphone...The best time to wear a striped sweater really is all the time! Spongebob may have ignored his fry cook duties to sing this line, but he didn't lie. Striped sweaters are gifts that keep giving because they seem festive no matter their colorways! However, this particular sweater has Christmas stitched into every seam and we love it!

BloomChic

Bloomchic Turtleneck Cable Knit Sweater

Can't stand the idea of a turtleneck sweater hugging your neck like it's obsessed with you? Here's a sweater that doesn't feel so restrictive!

H&M

Mock Turtleneck Sweater

Here's another neck-friendly sweater that's as cute as it's breathable. It's like the faux version of what we're used to because no one wants to yank at their neckline every five minutes.

Target

Turtleneck Tunic Pullover Sweater

But if you've embraced the dark side of turtlenecks, this pullover sweater won't make you gasp every time you take a breath. I'm serious, you'll love wearing it...I think.

'Tis the season... for giving and getting things you (and your giftees) might not really need. With sustainability becoming a paramount concern for many and the drawbacks of overconsumption entering our collective consciousness, the idea of gifting thoughtful, handmade, and possibly even zero-waste gifts is becoming ever more appealing. The only problem? We're not all as handy as we might like to be. Don't worry though — you don't need to be an expert maker to craft these DIY Christmas gifts! From beginner to advanced, there's a homemade Christmas gift idea for giver and giftee alike.

1. Edible DIY Christmas Gift Ideas

Brit + Co

If you know your way around a kitchen, don't sleep on the opportunity to give your loved ones an edible gift. You know it'll get used (AKA eaten), and it's essentially a zero-waste gift-giving strategy.

We love making pretty desserts that work well as gifts, like this matcha yogurt bark, this peppermint bark, these super easy Christmas cookie recipes, and these edible gift ideas. Package them up with these creative gift wrapping techniques, or forego paper altogether and wrap them with a cute kitchen towel for a zero-waste approach.

2. DIY Craft Kits To Gift

Etsy

If you're a complete beginner to DIY and handmade Christmas gifts, it might be smart to start out with a kit. A DIY kit allows you to fashion a thoughtful gift that shows your recipient just how much time and effort you put into giving them something special.

This DIY permanent jewelry kit is perfect for someone who wants to give their bestie a one-of-a-kind present this year. You can also DIY Christmas-scented candles, grow your loved one's birth month flower, or construct a super-cute tiny house to be displayed as kitschy decor.

3. Handmade Christmas Gifts

Since I'm never growing past 5'2, I might as well set my sights on petite dresses I know will work for me instead of making trips to the tailor. The only time I'm willing to break this rule is when buying jeans and pants though — shh, it's our secret!

I'm willing to bet you're still planning your Thanksgiving and party outfits so I've rounded up 10 of the most flattering dresses to save you the trouble of endless scrolling.

Keep scrolling for the most flattering petite dresses for us short girls under 5'4".

  1. The Best Holiday Dress: Maeve Tweed Fit & Flare Mini Dress
  2. The Best Sweater Dress: By Anthropologie Twofer Mini Dress
  3. The Best Colorful Dress: Boden Ribbed Metallic Dress
  4. The Best Plus-Sized Dress: Lane Bryant Shimmered Shirred Dress
  5. The Best Leopard Print Dress: MANGO Leopard Print Dress

The best dress for girls who love a classic fall moment:

Ann Taylor

Ann Taylor Crew Neck Knit Dress

Classic fall outfits are always going to get us through the cooler season because they're effortless, like this striped knit dress. Using it as a base, you can add a lightweight trench coat for rainy days or a wool number when you need extra warmth. Next up, step into a pair of knee high boots and voilá! You'll have a low-fuss outfit that still looks chic.

The best dress for anyone who's tired of boring sweaters:

Anthropologie

By Anthropologie Tulle Twofer Mini Dress

I've already added this dress to my wishlist because it's so pretty. I love anything that looks super feminine or frilly so this is one of those petite dresses I could wear every week if I had the chance. If you're on the hunt for anything that puts your other sweater dresses to shame, I highly recommend you buy this tulle mini dress!

For the girl who loves wearing colorful outfits:

Boden

Boden Ribbed Metallic Dress

The edit team at Brit + Co loves colorful pieces, which is why this metallic dress is beckoning to me. Besides the shimmery flecks, the expertly placed shades of hunter green, bubblegum pink, marigold, magenta, maroon, and cerulean blue are gorgeous.

I imagine this is something Ms. Frizzle would wear if she were in the modern world, and I mean that in the best way ever.

The best dress for the girl who loves a fun party moment:

Anthropologie

Maeve Tweed Fit & Flare Mini Dress

This is the ultimate party dress for the girl who needs the perfect choice for the holidays. It's giving modern brocade and I'm 100 percent ready for it to appear in my closet. Even if I can't get my hands on it, I sincerely hope you can because you'd look stunning in it.

Just look at the fit & flare fit. It's known for being one of the most flattering designs for all body types and it happens to make us petite girls look like we're floating from one room to the next.

For anyone who knows animal print and fall belong together:

ASOS

Miss Selfridge Animal Print Dress

To you, animal print during fall is like wearing florals during spring; you have to have it. I don't blame you because it's basically a neutral print that you can build several outfits around. This dress has a little bit of leopard and cheetah print mixed together for something that feels fresher than what we've seen, meaning it could very well work in your favor.

MANGO

MANGO Leopard Print Dress

But if you don't care about mixing animal prints, stick with the tried and true leopard pattern us millennials love so much. You seriously can't go wrong, considering this dress happens to get the pattern and color just right (meaning it doesn't look cartoonish). Plus, it's begging you to throw a denim or trench coat over your shoulders.

The best plus size dress for the girl who loves flared hemlines:

Lane Bryant

Lane Bryant Shimmer Shirred Dress

I'm a firm believer that petite styles aren't reserved for one body type so I couldn't wait to share this cute dress with you! It has that familiar fit & flare fit I mentioned earlier, plus there's a bit of shimmer if you need something that feels holiday-friendly.

Kohl's

Petite LC Lauren Conrad Swing Dress

Let's keep the party going with this all-over sequin dress from Lauren Conrad's collection at Kohl's. This simple swing dress can be paired with black tights and heels that feature a diamante moment.

PrettyLittleThing

PrettyLittleThing Bandeau Structured Velvet Dress

Want a petite dress that feels a little more structured? Check out this cute velvet dress! It's designed to cinch your waist while flaring out your hips to create something that doesn't feel like you're reliving that one dress you used to wear to the club.

For the girl who doesn't care about petite 'rules':

Anthropologie

The Somerset Maxi Dress

Maxi dresses can be a hit or miss for petite girls, but this dress works exceptionally well. It'll stop right before your ankles instead of dragging the floor, giving you one of the best fall dresses you'll own. I'm biased because I think everyone should have at least one black maxi dress in their closet that's not ribbed or fitted. Though those options serve their purpose, especially on cozy days, I think flared or flowing dresses have an appeal that complements fall.

It looks like we'll just be getting Jacob Elordi movies for the rest of time, and honestly, I'm thankful. (Even if that one cringy Kissing Booth scene still runs on a loop in the my brain). Before Swift Horses with Daisy Edgar Jones, Jacob is teaming up with another Hollywood titan you'll recognize from Pretty Woman: Richard Gere. And the movie looks incredibly emotional.

Here's all the latest info on Jacob Elordi and Richard Gere's brand new movie Oh, Canada.

What is the Oh Canada movie about?

Oh, Canada Plot

Oh, Canada follows the life of legendary (albeit fictional) filmmaker Leonard Fife. This story probably approaches Leo's career the way we think about Steven Spielberg's. AKA, he's very important. Leonard decides to tell his life story before he runs out of time. And even though he's got an impressive resumé, he also has to decide if he wants his Vietnam draft dodge and sticky relationships to become public knowledge.

"Leonard sits for an extended interview with his former student Malcolm (Michael Imperioli), relating candid stories about his younger self (Jacob Elordi) in the tumultuous 1960s and beyond," the synopsis says, adding that "at Leonard’s insistence, his wife and indispensable artistic partner, Emma (Uma Thurman), bears witness to it all."

How to watch Oh Canada?

Oh, Canada Release Date

Jacob Elordi's new movie is coming to theaters December 6, 2024 — the same day as Rachel Zegler's Y2K and Amy Adams' Nightb—ch!

Who's in the movie?

Kino Lorber

Oh, Canada Cast

The cast of Oh, Canada includes Richard Gere, Jacob Elordi, Uma Thurman, Michael Imperioli, and Victoria Hill, while the movie is written and directed by Paul Schrader (who also worked with Richard on 1980's American Gigolo!

What has the cast said about the movie?

Uma Thurman has been vocal about how excited she is to be a part of the project and told Deadline the movie feels like a "reverie" and has a "lyrical, sort of loosely knit, poetic" quality about it.

"The cinematic hand of Paul, of course, carried the day, as far as bringing this sort of illusionary dream together into something that you walk away from with the strong impression of a story," she says. "Just the presence of a master like Paul Schrader on a set of any size, is as distinct as, I don’t know, a warm wind. It’s like the wind that hits you when you get off a plane in the tropics. There’s only one thing of its ilk, and he’s kind of a master like that. You could really be anywhere; you can’t miss it."

That sounds like my kind of movie.

Director Paul Schrader revealed he fell in love with Jacob's performance the moment he saw him — which was before he took the world by storm in Priscilla. “I saw his performance on Zoom and, if this was 40 years ago, this is the guy I would have cast for American Gigolo,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.

I know, I know — it's controversial to wear red to a wedding. But truly, I've never in my life heard that rule until recently, so it can't matter that much, right? I'll let you decide that for yourself, but while you're thinking about it...look at how gorgeous this off-the-shoulder number is!

Azazie

Azazie Atelier Bellini Grape Jacquard Satin Maxi Dress

I adore this deep, rich eggplant color SO much. It goes so well with this high neckline and jacquard fabric, absolutely emanating elegance. This looks fantastic with strappy gold sandals (like above), but I could also see this looking amazing with some pointed toe velvet pumps.

Lulus

Lulus I'm All Yours Black Tulle Ruffled Maxi Dress

I have this exact dress in burgundy, but I am totally into the black tulle. It gives an edge to the elegance that's so playful and COOL. Plus, who doesn't love a deep v neck like this? It's so freakin' good.

Ieena for Mac Duggal Sequin Long Sleeve Faux Wrap Gown

My mom wore this exact dress in black to my own wedding, and she looked like a total goddess. The shimmer could seem like a lot for some, but it's really quite lovely and just understated enough when you're in that glittering wedding environment. You'll definitely wanna dance the night away in this look!

Elliatt Calypso Dress

Looking for a shorter winter wedding guest dress? This Elliatt option is stunning! The body of the dress itself is really quite simple, letting the statement bow on the back do all the heavy (and very stylish) lifting for your look. I'd pair this with an Audrey Hepburn-esque updo and some pointed black pumps!

Azazie

Azazie Atelier Sara Marigold Maxi Dress

Let this marigold dress light up the room at the next wedding you're invited to! The floral pattern is perfect for winter, not leaning too spring, and giving this balloon sleeve dress a little extra life. (And do you see the slit? I'm telling you: it's the perfect way to accentuate your wedding guest look!)

Mac Duggal Long Sleeve Pleated Satin Cocktail Midi Dress

Like I said before, winter doesn't me you can't wear color! This shade is just bright enough to make a statement, but just earthy enough to be perfect for the season. The pleats and the buttoned, ballooned sleeves are just gorgeous here too!

By Anthropologie The Maya Ruched Cowl-Neck Dress: Stretch Velvet Edition

I seriously just love a high neckline! There's something about it that screams class (but a distinguished, polite scream of course 😉), which is totally what you're going for with your winter wedding guest dress. I also love how the stretch velvet will give you the space to sit, eat, and dance comfortably all night long — exactly what you need for a festive wedding eventing!
