"FBoy Island" Season 3 Brings On The Heat At The CW After MAX Cancellation

fboy island season 3fboy island season 3

During my last internship, my manager and I bonded over FBoy Island together — it was our own little best-kept secret that no one else ever really understood. Naturally, my heart broke when HBO MAX canceled the show after two seasons. While MAX has proved itself as a strong-standing competitor amongst popular streaming channels like Netflix and Hulu with groundbreaking originals like Succession and The White Lotus, I have my doubts that many people even knew about this gem.

Well, whichever C-suite level execs at The CW gave season three this stellar pick-up the go-ahead gets five stars from me. The CW has a long-running history of being an incredible middleman for iconic shows, broadcasting the likes of Gossip Girl and The Vampire Diaries, so there’s no surprise that they’ve joined the winning team here with FBoy Island.

So, if you’re new to FBoy Island or just itching for a recap, read ahead to prepare for the rest of season three!

What is "FBoy Island" about?

F-boy island follows three women on an island surrounded by 21 bachelors, challenged with the mission of deciphering between which of their potential boos are "FBoys" and which are "nice guys." If the girls pick well, then they'll ride off into the sunset with a new love and the cash prize. But if they fall for the FBoy, then they'll leave how they came.

What happened in the last season of "FBoy Island"?

Spoiler alert! The last season of FBoy Island took an unexpected turn that left audiences well, shook. Hot and spicy Tamaris, one of the three ladies from season two, opted out of love and took the money for herself. That's right — girls are players too, and this final chess move gave future contestants the option not to settle

"FBoy Island" Season 3, Episode 1 Recap

The first episode “This Is Gonna Be a Good Season,” played out in true FBoy Island fashion. It started out good with getting to know our girls for the season. We got an inside look at their likes, dislikes, and what exactly they think separates the good guys from the F boys. After getting to know the girls, Nikki (our charming host) ushered in this season’s group of guys. At the first meet, the guys were challenged to show our girls all of their green flags, literally. Whoever got a green flag from the entire crew, won an air of safety. Between the first challenge and eliminations, the boys only had the mixer to prove why they shouldn’t be eliminated. Two of our ladies wasted no time and snagged the first smooches of the season. The girls end up booting two nice guys and a single FBoy.

The second episode, titled “I Care Bro,” began with Daniella, Hali, and Katie all picking one of the contestants for a solo date. We weren’t surprised with who they picked, but one did come out of left field. As things started to heat up, tensions arore and testosterone levels definitely started to flare. The boys started pointing fingers at who they’re pinning as FBoys in order to prove their loyalty to the ladies. Towards the end of the night, we were able to settle in on who we’re shipping...and get to see a big player's true colors. In the end, Hali sent Chris home (a timid FBoy), Daniella cut Bryce ( a doting nice guy), and Katie gave Tanner (a good guy, of course) her heeled, rhinestone sandal.

Jeremiah Brent has an amazing knack for making spaces feel luxe but also totally livable. His modern-vintage aesthetic creates really timeless, soulful spaces I love. One of my favorite reality shows, Queer Eye, is lucky to have him as their newest member and interior designer. I chatted with Jeremiah this week about all things design, reality TV, his life with partner Nate Berkus (plus a few lovely wedding design tips), and his pantry organization hacks.

Also, you can score a pantry makeover with Jeremiah, thanks to Almond Breeze. Find the sweepstakes details below!

Here's what Jeremiah Brent shared with us about decor, Queer Eye, and life with Nate Berkus in an exclusive interview!

Jeremiah Brent

Your aesthetic is known for being sophisticated yet warm. What’s your best piece of advice for someone looking to make their home feel more personal?

Jeremiah: Theresa, that's my life mission with design. It’s become super-prescriptive design. The most memorable rooms and homes I've ever been in had nothing to do with how much money they spent or if it was from Architectural Digest, it just looked like them.

My biggest piece of advice would be: Really think about the moments in your day that matter most to you. Are you an early morning person who needs coffee? Are you an evening person who wants to lie down and watch TV, or are you somebody who's very ceremonial?

Do you have a spot to read a book and have a glass of wine at night? If you start creating your space for your moments instead of for other people, it just changes the way you move through your own house.

Nate & Jeremiah by Design gave viewers a glimpse into your life with Nate and your family — what was it like working so closely with your partner on screen?

Jeremiah: He's my favorite person in the world. I mean, it's not easy to work with a spouse. It can really make or break you, but my husband has always believed in my talent and my perspective creatively and we have a lot of respect for each other. What it represented was us being able to show a family like ours to the world that maybe they didn't have access to, and it was really important and I'm really proud of it. It's also this beautiful timeline of the first 10 years of our lives as a family.

Netflix

Now you’re joining Queer Eye. What’s something about working on reality TV home makeovers that people might not realize?

Jeremiah: This is going to be a weird thing to say, but I don't think people realize how real Queer Eye is. I've worked on a lot of reality television, which is aging me tremendously. [laughs] Queer Eye is different. I mean, I sat there every week watching people walk into new versions of themselves. It's an interesting thing when you see somebody the way they want to be seen and then you watch them change the way they see themselves. I got to watch my dearest friends do what they do and it was just wild. You can't produce that kind of energy.

What's one of your favorite moments on the show?

Jeremiah: There was a woman named Jen'ya who is a single mother and I was raised by a single mother, and it was particularly impactful for me because it's everything you wish you could have done for your mother growing up. To be able to have that full circle moment and say, "I know exactly what you're going through" and every chance you just can't seem to get, that felt really good.

Netflix

Let’s talk weddings. What’s one design element from Say I Do that you’d love to see more couples incorporate into their own celebrations?

Jeremiah: The people that they love, which is a weird thing to say, but I think so much about weddings becomes about the conventional, like flowers and this and that. That personalized component makes it just this really beautiful, holistic, important thing. In our wedding we tried to incorporate the people that were really part of the fabric of our lives because we wouldn't have been there without them.

What are some ways that you and Nate incorporated your closest people?

Jeremiah: My mother's recipes for our desserts, certain flowers from my grandparents, certain smells. We incorporated photos in different areas. My sister sang at our wedding, which was super special. Tons of different little things, like little nods to people we love.

What’s one design trend that makes you cringe?

Jeremiah: Acrylic furniture because of fingerprints and dust. But I support people who have it, it’s just not for me.

Enter To Win A Pantry Makeover From Jeremiah!

Jeremiah Brent

  • About Sweeps:Almond Breeze is teaming up with Jeremiah Brent to highlight the brand’s shelf-stable Almondmilk varieties as pantry staples, Unsweetened Vanilla and Unsweetened Original. The brand is offering a pantry makeover with Jeremiah for one lucky winner!
  • Entry Period: The sweepstakes kicks off on 2/18/25 and ends on 2/25/25.
  • How To Enter: You can enter the sweeps by visiting: https://enterpromo.com/almondbreeze. Simply fill out your name, email, phone, home address and DOB, and you’re in the running to win!
  • Terms & Conditions: Must be 18 or older to enter. Must be U.S.-based, excluding Alaska and Hawaii.

Given this sweepstakes, what are your best organizational hacks for the pantry?

Jeremiah: I think the pantry becomes kind of a catch-all for everything. And the next thing you know, half of it's expired. It kind of becomes like a pit where things go to die. In our own house, I'm constantly editing, even if it's just changing where things are spatially in the pantry, moving them around a little bit forces you to go through things and reassess them. And lighting. Buy simple, really inexpensive LED strip lighting that you can attach to the top of your pantry inside and light. It makes a world of a difference.

Netflix

Why you decided to partner with Almond Breeze. Do you have a go-to recipe or favorite beverage?

Jeremiah: We're really aligned for a lot of different reasons. They are crafted obviously from the best Blue Diamond almonds. They're all about sustainability. The fact that it's this wholesome plant-based almondmilk. We use it in smoothies, cereals, Poppy [my daughter] just used it in her cereal this morning. You know, life is crazy and busy and I'm traveling all the time and I love that I don't have to worry in two weeks if I need to get rid of it because it’s shelf stable. It's just a matter of aligning with a company that their priorities are in the same place as mine, as a father and as a husband.

Do you like to cook?

Jeremiah: Love to cook. It's my favorite. I love the ceremony of it, preparing something and then people coming together and then watching them eat it. It's the best.

What's your go-to recipe that's not a beverage?

Jeremiah: I'll give you two. I make a weeknight bolognese, but I actually think the recipe is from Ina Garten because I'm obsessed with her. And then I do a jalapeño pomegranate glazed ham for the holidays, which sounds like a lot of flavor and very fancy, but it's really easy and it's so good.

Vanderpump Ruleshad quite a yearin 2024. After news of the infamous affair between Tom and Raquel (who we now call Rachel) broke, the show was never the same. Dynamics shifted, certain cast members stopped filming together, and the fun, flirty, and risky undertone we’d all come to love seemingly ceased to exist before our eyes. So, the announcement of Bravo discontinuing the original cast for their 12th season was far from a surprise.

While the show will carry on, its original, titular cast will not, which is why I’m reminiscing on the good ol’ days. If you too want a nostalgic re-watch, look no further!

Here are the 11 seasons of Vanderpump Rules ranked, from best to worst.

1. Season 2

Bravo

I know I may be stirring the pot putting season 2 in first place, especially over season 10, but in my humble opinion, season 2 didn’t have a single boring episode due to the drama-filled shenanigans the cast constantly got into. It was peak Jax Taylor and Stassi post-breakup flirting, followed by fighting within the same moment. Some of the show’s most iconic lines come from season 2, and for that, and that alone, it’s my favorite season. And how can anyone forget the infamous Golden Nugget dialogue between Stassi and Tom Sandoval? If you’ve forgotten, let me jog your memory.

“Three years ago, me and Ariana made out in a swimming pool at the Golden Nugget, yes that did happen” says a nonchalant and overly-confident Sandoval. To which Stassi replies, “The Golden Nugget? That’s like an all time low.” It's a moment of comedic relief, when it’s really not supposed to be, given Sandoval is admitting to cheating on his long time girlfriend, but I digress. Sandoval goes, “Are you kidding me? I love that place.”

2. Season 6

Bravo

“Rawt in hell!” If you read that in a southern Kentucky accent, you know exactly why I put this season at number 2. Another season chock full of iconic lines, season 6 did not disappoint. Brittany, who made it loud and clear that she moved all the way from Kentucky to Los Angeles just to be with Jax, was inevitably cheated on. While terrible for Brittany, it made for great content brimming with screaming matches and tears galore.

3. Season 1

Bravo

The season that started it all. We were introduced to the eclectic world of the Sexy Unique Restaurant, AKA SUR, in Los Angeles and its staff that would bring us over 10 years of fights, scandals, and gossip. We’re catapulted into this series off the heels of a tense conversation between Scheana Shay and Brandi Glanville. It’s not until the end of their conversation where Scheana gets up, and walks into what would soon be one of Bravo’s most popular series.

I hope Bravo gave whoever thought of that introduction a raise, because it was quite literally the most iconic way to start a reality show. There’s something poetic about a reality show blossoming out of an affair, and ending because of one.

4. Season 3

Bravo

James Kennedy, or should I say White Kanye, is introduced in this season, thanks to “Crazy Kristen.” I’m not a fan of James for a multitude of reasons, but he did bring a flare of comedy the show lacked before his presence. Oh, and not to mention, Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix begin their tumultuous relationship in this season. Seriously, rewatching this show makes me want to hug young Ariana and simply ask her “why?”

5. Season 4

Bravo

Over the years we were met with a plethora of additions to SUR, but none of them stuck around quite like Lala Kent did. We were introduced to Lala in this season and she was an absolute force to be reckoned with and brought enough drama that proved she was in it for the long haul. Not only that, but Jax and Brittany debuted their – at this point, very fresh and unstable – relationship. If that wasn’t enough, Tom begrudgingly proposed to Katie to wrap this season up.

6. Season 5

Bravo

Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney tie the knot, and while this season should’ve been a proclamation to their love it was instead a grave indicator of their ill-fated marriage. I want to make it known, Katie is not responsible for this. I love her and do think it was all Tom’s fault — the man was more in love with his best friend. I digress, this season was phenomenally messy and I’ve gotta say, the wedding turned out to be gorgeous.

7. Season 11

Nicole Weingart/Bravo

The season that marked the end of the legacy that is Vanderpump Rules. This season was filmed after the affair heard around the world. The reason for the low ranking on this season is quite obvious – the producers were far too involved. The producers were like that kid in class that just won't stop sending you love letters and never getting the hint. I’ll never like Tom Sandoval, and had the producers understood that, maybe we would’ve still had this cast. To this day, I’m still unsure how Ariana managed to stay strong throughout it, especially with a sea of envious women—who had once been masked as her friends—plotting against her.

8. Season 10

Bravo

While most of this season was a yawn, the finale and grand reveal (we’ll call it) made the sticking around worth it. For this reason, it’s a season that’s superior during a re-watch, iykyk.

9. Season 7

Bravo

Do you remember the preceding 6th season being consumed in its entirety by the drama of Jax cheating on Brittany? Well, if that situation wasn’t already frustrating, season 7 takes the cake. Jax proposes to Brittany, she says yes, and that’s pretty much all you need to know. Kidding, of course. Major drama ensues because everyone in the group knows they shouldn’t get married – which says a lot coming from this group of people. Though, it's tired drama that dragged on two too many seasons, if you catch my drift.

10. Season 8

Bravo

The cast grows up in this season (they were in their 30s) and seemingly move onto bigger and better things – houses they all couldn’t afford. Boring additions to the cast were introduced, cough, cough Dayna and Max, and removed just as fast. All around, this season didn’t have much to offer other than Jax trying to stir up weird, pretend drama around his wedding events.

11. Season 9

Bravo

Ah, season 9. I can’t blame the cast entirely, in terms of this season’s demise, as that’s mainly due to COVID halting production. Nevertheless, it seemed as though the cast didn’t know where to pick up. (Can I blame them? The break must’ve been nice). Lala and Scheana had babies, Schaena and Brock got engaged, and the world kept on spinning.

With an acting career that spans over four decades, Tom Hanks (born Thomas Jeffrey Hanks) is revered as one of the most beloved and well-respected actors in Hollywood. Whether he’s portraying a lovable man-child in Big or voicing a trustworthy cowboy sheriff doll in Toy Story, the now 68-year-old actor and filmmaker has managed to capture the hearts of audiences around the world, solidifying himself as an American cultural icon. Aside from having many prestigious awards under his belt, Hanks’ impressive acting catalog includes a movie or two that is an absolute must-watch. (Ahem, I’ve watched You’ve Got Mail more than a dozen times, but who’s counting?)

From Cast Away to Apollo 13, here’s a list of the best Tom Hanks movies everyone should watch at least once—if you haven’t already!

1. Forrest Gump

Paramount Pictures

One of the most memorable quotes from this widely-praised classic comes from Forrest Gump himself, where the titular character repeats a phrase often used by his late mother: “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.”

That’s just one of the inspirational lessons you will take away throughout the film. Serving as an adaption of Winston Groom’s 1986 novel of the same title, Forrest Gump follows an Alabama man who doesn’t let his intellectual shortcomings stand in his way. From fighting on the front lines of the Vietnam War to captaining a shrimp boat, Forrest Gump is living his life to the fullest.

But he yearns to be with his childhood love, Jenny, who goes on to live a troubling life. Not only was Forrest Gump a box office success (garnering a whopping $678.2 million worldwide during its theatrical run, btw) but it was admired by critics and fans alike, earning an 8.8 out of 10 rating on IMDb and a 75 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. While this Tom Hanks movie has faced some controversy over the years, its redeeming qualities make it one of the most iconic movies of the 90s.

2. Toy Story

Disney

Woody is the true definition of best friend goals. Woody’s unwavering fearlessness and ability to go to infinity and beyond for Andy (AKA his owner) and his fellow toys is quite endearing. It’s hard to picture anyone other than Tom Hanks voicing the iconic vintage doll. From the moment Woody is first introduced on screen, Hanks brings a story of charm and je ne sais quoi to the character that can’t be replicated.

While the Toy Story movie franchise consists of four movies (with a fifth movie currently in the works, ICYMI), the first Toy Story movie will always be a fan favorite, earning an 8.3 out of 10 rating on IMDb and a perfect 100 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.

3. Philadelphia

TriStar

Moving, poignant and unforgettable. Those are the three words that describe Hank’s phenomenal (and don’t forget Oscar-winning!) performance in 1993’s law drama Philadelphia. Meet Andrew Beckett, a lawyer working at a prestigious law firm in Philadelphia. In a desperate attempt to save his career, he keeps his HIV diagnosis and homosexuality a secret from his co-workers.

However, an employee discovers his secret, and as a result, Beckett is let go from the law firm. Angered by the firm’s decision, Beckett enlists the help of a Black lawyer named Joe Miller (played by Denzel Washington) and sues his former employer for discrimination.

From the talented ensemble cast to the film’s underlying message of social injustice and prejudice, Philadelphia is an absolute must-watch from beginning to end. And the ratings speak for themselves: Philadelphia has a 7.7/10 on IMDb and 81 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

4. Big

20th Century Fox

If you ask me, Big is like the big brother to 13 Going on 30 and 17 Again. Directed by Penny Marshall (who you may recognize from the TV sitcom Laverne & Shirley!), Big follows a 12-year-old boy named Josh Baskin, who wishes he was “big.”

One day, he wakes up as an adult. However, Josh longs for the days of childhood. But what makes this film so great? Hanks brings such a childlike innocence to the role that you can’t help but smile whenever he appears on screen. Whether he’s playing with toys or gleefully playing a sonnet on a life-size piano keyboard with his feet, Big makes you feel an enchanting sense of nostalgia, where you can think back to a time when life was so carefree and being a child wasn’t a distant memory. Also, it has a 7.3/10 rating on IMDb and a whopping 98 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

5. Sleepless in Seattle

TriStar

As someone who has watched Sleepless in Seattle more than once, I can’t say enough how much this timeless rom-com deserves a spot on this list. From the undeniable chemistry between Hanks and Meg Ryan to the talented ensemble cast, this is a movie I put on whenever I’m in the mood for a genuine, heartwarming romance. What’s not to love?

Following the death of his wife, Sam Baldwin and his son move to Seattle for a fresh start. One night, Jonah calls into a radio station to find his dad a new wife. While driving late at night, a journalist named Annie Reed is listening to the same radio segment and she falls for Sam, but—get this—she’s engaged.

Unable to get him off her mind, Annie takes a leap of faith and writes to Sam, asking him to meet up on top of the Empire State Building on Valentine’s Day. If that doesn’t scream romance, then I don’t know what does. Though Sleepless in Seattle received a 6.8/10 rating on IMDb and 75 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, it remains one of my fave Nora Ephron films and Tom Hanks’ swoon-worthy portrayal of Sam is chef's kiss.

6. Cast Away

DreamWorks

If you were questioning Tom Hanks’ range as an actor, just put on Cast Away (which has a 7.8/10 rating on IMDb and 88 percent on Rotten Tomatoes) one time and you’ll see for yourself. I mean, the man is acting alongside a volleyball named Wilson for most of the movie, for crying out loud.

Hanks is a force to be reckoned with in this film, where he plays a FedEx executive who survives a plane crash and becomes stranded on a deserted island. As he fights to survive, he dreams of one day reuniting with a person he holds near and dear to his heart: his soon-to-be fiancée.

7. Saving Private Ryan

DreamWorks

The first time I watched Saving Private Ryan was in Social Studies class. Middle school, to be exact. Set during WWII, Saving Private Ryan follows Captain John Miller and his regiment as they embark on a journey to locate Private James Ryan, whose three brothers have been killed in combat.

This movie will stick with you after the screen fades to black and the end credits roll. And Hanks’ ability to capture Captain John Miller’s sincerity and valiantness with so much authenticity was nothing short of spectacular. But that’s not the only reason why it deserves a spot on everyone’s watch list. While it’s certainly not an easy watch, this film tells an impactful yet inspiring story about resilience, loss, and the disastrous conditions of war. Not to mention, it has an impressive 8.6/10 rating on IMDb and 94 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Need I say more?

8. Catch Me If You Can

DreamWorks

What do you get when you put Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio in a crime-action comedy? Catch Me If You Can, that’s what! Serving as a live adaptation of Frank Abagnale Jr.’s autobiographical book of the same name, Catch Me If You Can revolves around the young conman, who becomes the most successful bank robber in the history of the U.S. before the age of 19.

Frank has done it all: he’s worked as a doctor, a lawyer, and as a co-pilot for a major airline. In a cunning game of cat and mouse, FBI Agent Carl Hanratty (played by Hanks) tries to bring Frank to justice, only for Frank to be one step ahead. It garnered an 8.1/10 rating on IMDb and a 96 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. And don’t even get me started on Hanks and DiCaprio being the ultimate on-screen duo.

9. Apollo 13

Universal Pictures

“Houston, we have a problem!” If you heard this iconic phrase before, I bet you didn’t know that it came from the 1995 docu-drama Apollo 13. Aside from its stellar ensemble cast, the film was also praised for its accurate retelling of the Apollo 13 lunar mission.

The year is 1970. A crew of three astronauts boarded a NASA spacecraft in hopes of landing on the moon. When an oxygen tank explodes during their mission, the crew must find a way to survive and make it safely back to Earth. Not only is it regarded as one of the best movies of all time, but it also received praise from critics, earning a 7.7/10 rating on IMDb and a 96 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

10. Splash

Buena Vista Pictures

Last but not least: Splash. Sure, the plot may be a bit cheesy. But it has everything that makes an '80s rom-com great. Strong chemistry? Check. Quirky humor? Oh, there’s a lot of that! Splash follows a man who's reunited with a mermaid that saved him from drowning 20 years ago.

Now, as an adult, he falls in love with the mermaid after she ventures onto dry land to find him. However, their perfect love story is cut short when a scheming scientist tries to expose her secret to the world. Now, I know what you’re thinking: This movie has a 6.3/10 rating on IMDb and it somehow received a 95 percent on Rotten Tomatoes (with an audience rating of 65 percent.) But Splash is an overall good time. If you’re looking for a chuckle or two, you’ll get it with Splash. (And can I just say that Tom Hanks is so charming and funny in this film?!)

I don't know whether to treat my period acne as guests or annoying pests. I'm familiar with balancing my hormones, but even that seems to be a great mystery when painful breakouts appear on my forehead or chin. Even relying on a face wash fromFarmacy Beautyisn't always a match for their stubbornness.

But esthetician Danielle Gronich wants to dispel the idea hormonal acne's impossible to treat. Plus, she's exposing the truth about ingredients that could be causing flareups 👀. Known as The Acne Guru, Gronich has over 10 years of experience treating cystic acne, and is the founder of both the San Diego Acne ClinicCLEARSTEM Skincare.

What's the biggest myth about hormonal acne?

Taylor Nicole/Dupe Photos

I love relying on TikTok to find cute matcha drink recipes to remake, but I know some of the skincare advice shared on the app shouldn't be followed. But there's one thing in particular Gronich isn't a fan of.

"The biggest myth about hormonal acne is that you have to be on birth control in order to solve it. This myth is all over social media, but I believe it comes from the medical world not really understanding hormones and having to rely on prescriptions to override them."

Would you believe me if I told you she's not wrong? I've been on birth control off and on since I was teenager, but I've yet to see it get to the root of my acne problem!

What are different types of hormonal acne?

Anna Nekrashevich/Pexels

Did you know not all hormonal acne stems directly from your period? According to Gronich, "there are many different triggers" for it with "the most common ones being stress and high sugar or processed foods" because they "impact our hormones." However, that's not all!

"Also extremely common is PCOS, estrogen dominance, progestin-related acne from certain birth control controls like the hormonal IUD, and then there is another type of hormonal acne caused by the vitamins and supplements we take," she adds. Going a step further, Gronich says "certain vitamins and supplements can spike testosterone or interfere with other enzyme processes that throw off our hormones."

I guess this is why my doctor always recommends I consult with her before taking random tablets so I'm not disrupting anything in my body!

Why do I see breakouts on my forehead, cheeks, or chin sometimes?

Polina Tankilevitch/Pexels

Remember the face mapping tool we were introduced to years ago? There's truth to them which is why Gronich created a Pore-Clogging Ingredient Checker for you to get more insight about what you're putting on your skin. But back to what your breakouts are trying to tell you!

Given Gronich's experience, she knows "different areas of the face can represent different parts of the body." She sees "hormonal acne most on the chin and jawline" because "we have the deepest hair follicles there." Want to know what this means for our body's reaction to certain foods and products?

"Dairy has insulin-like growth factor hormone so many people who consume dairy regularly get hormonal acne right on their chin. Some people are taking too much vitamin B 12 which throws off their hormones and you see it on the jawline," she says.

Then there's our relationship with using a ton of beauty products. Gronich is firm about telling "people to remove pore-ingredients from their skin care ad makeup" because "acne that's all over your face" is the direct result of "something that's being put all over your face." Not being aware of what we're using "will flare with our PMS cycle, so we accidentally think it's hormonal," accodring to her. But nope!

"...it can also just be caused by those hidden pore-clogging ingredients," she states.

Okay, how do I treat what feels like hormonal acne?

No matter your skin type, there's a few ingredients you can use to treat hormonal acne over time. "People can treat their hormonal acne with mandelic acid, and spot treatments like sulfur," Gronich shares. She also says, "Benzoyl peroxide can be a useful tool as well but must be used carefully so as not to over strip the skin. Don't take this advice lightly because I accidentally created more issues when I used this haphazardly.

If you don't want to use Benzoyl peroxide, she says you try "ice rolling." The amount of times you can use this tool depends on your skin type. "...if you are oily, you can use these treatments every day."

Gronich's tips for treating dark spots are making me rethink my shower habits because I've been doing the opposite of what's considered helpful for my skin. She says, "Avoid using hot water in the shower as it continually inflames the skin and further damages the delicate scar tissue!" Furthermore, you can "use anti-inflammatory products," according to her.

"Serums that contain hyaluronic acid can be very helpful, as well as gentle massaging to activate circulation which stimulates our wound healing response in the skin. Red light therapy can also be fantastic for scarring, along with professional micro needling treatments," she remarks.

The best things you and I can do are being mindful of what we eat, supplements we take, and what we put on our faces. Also, a lot of patience goes a long way when treating hormonal acne.
