My life wouldn't be complete without searching for the latest beauty finds that are kind to my acne-prone skin. That sounds like an overstatement, but I'm serious. As much as I love skincare products like vitamin C serums, I'm just as obsessed with finding (and wearing) makeup that's brown-girl friendly. Specifically, foundations are the first thing I make a beeline for no matter if I’m shopping online or taking my time to browse Sephora's shelves.

Here's a full breakdown of my go-to foundations for brown skin.

Sephora

Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Tint Foundation

I haven't stopped praising this skin tint foundation since I tried it last year and there's so many reasons why. Similar to tinted moisturizers, it gives brown skin a "clean girl" makeup base that'll have people asking about your beauty secrets.

Its radiant finish and infused collagen encourage a healthy glow while ceramides improve your skin's barrier over time. Plus, you don't have to use a lot! I've been using it non-stop since September and there's still product left.

Sephora

Range Beauty True Intentions Skin-Soothing Hydrating Foundation

This foundation is strictly for my brown skin girlies with sensitive skin that's prone to acne or eczema flareups. Rated as being the "best for combination skin" by Sephora, it also works for anyone whose skin can't choose between being oily or dry. It has calendula, chamomile, green tea, and kaolin clay in it to help target congested skin that's lost its luster.

Prior to relying heavily on Danessa Myricks Beauty's Yummy Skin Tint Foundation, my makeup routine wasn't complete without Range Beauty's hydrating formula. I loved that I didn't experience allergic reactions to it and noticed an improvement in my overall appearance the more I wore it.

Sephora

LYS Beauty Triple Fix Serum Foundation

IMO, the best foundations have skincare ingredients in them. From ceramides to niacinamide, they're a must-have for brown skin and LYS Beauty gets it! Their Triple Fix Serum Foundation has hyaluronic acid which makes my skin jump for joy. Okay, my skin doesn't actually leap in the air but wearing this tones my oil production down.

Get this — it has turmeric and ashwagandha in it! If you're confused because you have both in your spice cabinet, let me explain. The first ingredient is known for its soothing antioxidant properties while the second one lowers signs of stress in your face. Sounds appealing, right?

Sephora

Ami Colé Skin-Enhancing Lightweight & Blurring Foundation Stick

I've been team #liquidfoundation for so long that using a "stick" seemed unnecessary. But, I've been known to be wrong before, so I can admit Ami Colé made me a believer with this product. It's fragrance-free and has ingredients like baobab seed oil and soft-focus powder.

They work together to tell your skin it doesn't need to make more oil than it normally does while preventing it from drying out. If you have combination skin, it's a dream!

Amazon

Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation

Before I graduated to more "higher end" foundations, Maybelline's Fit Me Matte & Poreless formula was my go-to! It got me through the first few years of college so I have fond memories of it. It's nice to know it's still in the business of refining pores so they're not as open as they normally are.

One note is that the finish is a little more dewy than matte, but that's not a bad thing! Some formulas can be too drying, so this just leans more on the side of not making you look like you've been sweating all day.

Sephora

Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Full Coverage Foundation

The girls love Nars and Nars loves us back! I've only worn this a few times, but I didn't have any complaints when I did. For starters, it offers up to 16 hours of wear which is great if you commute to work. Two, it's free of pore-clogging and harmful ingredients that could potentially cause acne breakouts, leading to dark spots on brown skin.

Sephora

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Foundation

Every makeup forum I've been on can't stop raving about Estee Lauder's Double-Wear Foundation and I finally get it. This will make you look like the celebs and models in the magazine advertisements because it has a flawless finish.

If you're not interested in looking dewy, this is going to be your new go-to because it's the true definition of matte. Again, matte shouldn't equal drying! It just means that you have a canvas that looks like it's meant to be admired from afar!

The only reason I don't buy it as often is because it's pricey. However, I don't mind splurging at least once per year to remember why I fell in love with it.

Amazon

e.l.f. Cosmetics Flawless Satin Foundation

e.l.f. cosmetics can't do anything wrong in my eyes. Every product I've tried has worked well with my brown skin so I'm always going to talk about them.

I like this foundation because it has a semi-matte finish that errs between radiant and smooth, which is good for those who can't decide which they like more. It's also incredibly lightweight and inexpensive!

If you're not a fan of spending over $20 for foundation, I highly recommend you try this.

Sephora

Haus Labs Triclone Skin Tech Medium Coverage Foundation

Ah, Haus Labs. How much do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I don't know if it's meant to be for performance wear, but I once wore this on a busy work day where I sprinted up and down the halls during an emergency. Guess what? It didn't budge and only looked like I'd added a bit of highlighter to my cheeks.

It has fermented arnica, intellizen 7 complez and bioferment 7 complex in it which sounds unlike anything I'd ever heard of in makeup. They combat irritated skin while healing it and protecting it from further stress. Though I'm not 100 percent free from acne (and never will be), I've noticed I don't break out as often since introducing this to my makeup routine.

Sephora

Huda Beauty Easy Blur Natural Airbrush Foundation

Last but not least, this super blurring foundation is the definition of "airbrushed." It's buildable so you can control the kind of coverage you want and it has one of my favorite skincare ingredients in it — niacinamide.

Whenever I wear this, my skin's texture doesn't look patchy and I can barely see my pores. I'm not a fan of erasing my pores, but I don't mind looking "smooth" sometimes!

When you're new to gardening (or just lead a very busy lifestyle), finding the right houseplants can make all the difference. Plenty of people have a track record of forgetting to water their plants or struggling to keep their greenery alive in general. If you can relate, you're not alone. The good news is there are plenty of varieties out there that are quite easy to care for. Here are 10 houseplant options that are practically impossible to kill.

Scroll to see all the easiest houseplants that are totally hard to kill!

1. Parlor Palm

The Sill

The Sill Parlor Palm

Native to Central and South America, the Parlor Palm is a resilient plant that thrives in low-light environments, making it perfect for spaces that don't get much natural sunlight. It also grows to a manageable height of two to three feet, meaning it doesn't take up a ton of space and is excellent for smaller homes. However, one of the best parts about the Parlor Palm is how little maintenance it requires. Just some occasional watering is enough to keep this plant happy.

2. Rubber Plant

CB2

CB2 Live Ficus Elastica Rubber Plant

As a fig tree variety, the Rubber Plant has become a popular choice for both homes and offices due to its beautiful appearance yet easygoing nature. Its big glossy leaves sometimes lead it to be mistaken as a high-maintenance jungle plant, which is why many people over-water it. In reality, though, this plant is fairly low-maintenance, and while it thrives in bright, indirect light, it can tolerate low-light conditions.

It also doesn't like to be moved around frequently, which is a major upside for people who don't have the time to fuss over their plants.

3. Golden Pothos

Amazon

Costa Farms Golden Pothos Live Plant

If you want to dive into the world of vining houseplants, Golden Pothos is a stellar option. This stunning variety, featuring heart-shaped leaves in hues of green and yellow, is quite forgiving and resilient. Golden Pathos can grow up to 12 to 18 inches per month, so it's known as a fast grower. And while it enjoys natural light, it's also adaptable enough to do well under fluorescent lighting. So, it's great for offices or dorm rooms.

4. Jade Plant

The Sill

The Sill Sunset Jade

The Jade Plant is a succulent that takes on a tree-like appearance as it matures, with a woody stem and thick leaves. It's this variety's leaves that help it retain water, too. That's why Jade Plant is perfect for people who tend to forget about their greenery from time to time. It's much easier to over-water it than under-water it.

5. Aloe

Amazon

Costa Farms Aloe Vera, Live Succulent Plant

Featuring thick, dark green leaves, Aloe is a hardy succulent that's known for its impressive drought tolerance. This low-maintenance plant does best in bright light, so all you have to do is place it on a sunny windowsill. Plus, it's pretty adaptable and can handle partial light. Just keep in mind that these conditions might cause Aloe to produce longer, spindly leaves as opposed to compact and sturdy ones.

6. English Ivy

West Elm

West Elm Live English Ivy House Plant

Another vining plant that thrives with minimal care is English Ivy. It looks stunning in a hanging container or trailing over high shelving. This resilient variety can go for weeks without any attention, which is why so many busy plant parents love it. English Ivy is easy to manage indoors and can serve as a great home decor statement piece. However, it's important to note that, in the United States, this plant is considered an invasive species when planted outside.

7. Snake Plant

The Sill

The Sill Snake Plant Laurentii

Anyone looking for a tough and easy-to-care-for houseplant should consider the Snake Plant, which can go for weeks without water. This variety, which features stiff, upright leaves, is a large succulent that's adaptable and can flourish in a range of conditions. Whether in bright light, shade, dry, or humid environments, the Snake Plant will survive.

8. Spider Plant

Williams Sonoma

Williams Sonoma Live Spider House Plant

Sometimes referred to as the Ribbon Plant, the Spider Plant is a super forgiving variety that can handle occasional watering and exposure to artificial light. Not to mention, it grows great in both hanging baskets and pots. Spider Plant features leaves with light green stripes and white, star-shaped flowers, too, meaning it's a striking home decor addition.

9. Eternity Plant

The Sill

The Sill ZZ Plant

This variety's name couldn't be more appropriate since the Eternity Plant (AKA "ZZ" plant) is able to shine in less-than-ideal environments and endure neglect much longer than other plants. It's hardy, requires very little water, and does well in low to medium light. It's best to let the soil dry out completely in between watering, so sometimes, the Eternity Plant only needs a drink about once a month.

10. Peace Lily

West Elm

West Elm Live Peace Lily Plant

Finally, the Peace Lily is a gorgeous houseplant that blooms white flowers when given enough light. Or, in shadier spaces, it still functions as an adaptable foliage plant. Peace Lilies are extremely drought tolerant as well, which is why it's best to water only when the soil feels dry to the touch. An easy way to tell if your plant needs a drink is by observing its leaves. When the foliage begins to droop, you can give it some water.

Did January make you forget the answers to the deep questions you hoped would kickstart a great 2025? It's okay because after those crazy 31 days, we've agreed February is the start of our new year — so you get a pass if you didn't hit the ground running. Before you jump back into your written word of the year goals, take some time to think about the state of your finances. If this makes you want to throw tomatoes at us, it could be an indicator you haven't kept up with your expenses until you get your monthly statement.

We don't want you to spend another year crying about where your money goes each month so we're sharing the top hidden expenses that are draining your bank account.

Here are some sneaky expenses that could be taking your hard earned money as you silently weep.

1. Forgotten Subscriptions

How long has it been since the free streaming or content creation trial you signed up for expired? We're not psychic but we're sure you're looking at us with a blank stare or a set of surprised eyes.

Subscriptions are always tricky because they offer an enticing 7 or 30-day trial with an app's endless features. At this point, we're convinced marketers know we're likely to forget about the free period which is why we often see the same in-app scripts.

If you know you're not using certain apps or streaming platforms, make sure to cancel them because $4.99 — $9.99 per week or month adds up!

2. Premium Food Delivery Services

Sigh. This one's hard to write about because we love the convenience of having food from our favorite restaurants delivered to our front door. But, that's where the lie begins because there isn't anything convenient about delivery, taxes, silverware, and tip fees on top of the cost of your order. And when you add on a premium delivery fee that seemingly cancels a free delivery, you're still paying for it in some way.

This means you could spend over $100 per year to skip one fee, and you're not guaranteed to love your order or even get it in worst case scenarios. Yikes!

Kelly Madu/Dupe

3. Pesky Auto-Renewals

Did you forget that you agreed to pay for an auto-renewal of a magazine you stopped reading? It happens to the best of us, and can be one of those hidden expenses that's easy to ignore. You think, "Oh, "$12.99 per year isn't bad," until you realize that the price somehow increased when you weren't looking. It's even worse if you're subscribed to more than one magazine that you no longer care about!

Liliana Drew/Pexels

4. ATM Charges

There's a reason your bank highly recommends you use their ATM's to withdraw money because external sources usually charge a fee. It may seem small, but why should you be charged to get a little of your money?

If you can, skip the extra $2.99 charge for your transaction and find your bank's ATM.

5. Your Daily Coffee Shop Order

We've all told ourselves how essential our coffee shop orders are. They help us get through our work week and feel like one of the less expensive little treats we can indulge in. But, those daily orders are adding up.

For example, let's imagine someone named Ginny spends $10 per work day on her favorite drink and breakfast order. If she does this consistently for one month, she'll have spent an extra $200 per month on them!

TBH, this extra money could go towards savings, a bill, or an unexpected emergency.

6. Weekly Nail Salon Visits

We know getting your nails done counts as self-care, but it can be an expensive form of it. One of the things we've been relying on is giving ourselves at-home manicures or relying on press-on nails. They still fulfill our beauty needs without putting a dent in our bank accounts.

Cora Pursley/Dupe

7. Credit Card Interest

If you think you're imagining an increase in your credit card interest, there's a good chance you're not. And it's worth looking into how much for the specific card(s) you have.

It's not as easy to tell you not to carry a balance every month because you may have had to pay for a surgery or emergency car repair, but this is how credit card companies get us. That interest can range from an extra $100 — $300 on top of your actual balance, meaning you're only paying a tiny portion of it each month.

Our advice is to pay more than your monthly fee so that you're able to put a dent in the interest as much as possible!

8. Leaving Lights On At Home Because You 'Can Do What You Want Now'

Most adults grew up hearing how leaving lights on at home was a cardinal sin, but there's a reason why parents fussed about it so much. It costs money that will show up on the next energy bill. Take it from one of our writers whose saw one of her bills skyrocket to almost $250 when she first moved out of her parents' home.

If you have to leave a light on, look into using energy saving light bulbs or burn a few candles for a dark romance vibe.

9. Splurging On Groceries Just Because

Say it with us: overconsumption isn't a goal this year! Usually we'd insert a little joke here, but buying a ton of groceries that'll likely go to waste just because you have the money for them isn't a flex. It's wasteful to your bank account and the environment.

Stick with the groceries you usually get or make a detailed list that includes items that you're going to meal prep instead of "winging it."

Sulav Jung Hamal/Pexels

10. Daily Trips To The Gas Station

We're not talking about spending money on gas here. We know you might have a daily habit of stopping by the QT or BP near your house to get your favorite juice, Gatorade, or sunflower seeds pack. Although you can include them in your grocery trip, you've somehow convinced yourself that these items taste superior coming from the shiny convenience store.

We're here to gently burst your bubble by telling you they don't. The store's layout is just beckoning you to stop similar to the urge you get in Target.

In other words, you don't need to keep making daily trips there unless you want to keep pretending you're not sure where your money's going.

2025 has been full of celebrity surprises — from Tom Holland and Zendaya's engagement to Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's all-out legal battle but one thing I NEVER saw coming was that Demi Moore and Andrew Garfield might be dating? WHAT. This duo definitely turned heads at the 2025 Golden Globes when they got up close and personal during the ceremony. And according to some sources, these two could be more than friends.

Here's everything we know about those Demi Moore & Andrew Garfield dating rumors.

According to a DeuxMoi source, "Andrew Garfield is staying with Demi Moore at her Sun Valley, Idaho home." That tip, plus the fact these two got cozy at the Golden Globes — both in the audience in this video and when he kissed her hand onstage — definitely make me wonder what's going on with these two. Because TBH, this would be one very hot couple.

Another source told InTouch Weeklythat "they definitely seemed cozy.”

“Now speculation is rampant that a romance is brewing between Demi and Andrew — and everyone is here for it,” the source continues. It's me. I'm everyone.

"The utter chaos in this Renaissance painting of a video," one X user commentedon the above video, while another said, "WHAT IS HE DOING EXCUSE ME 😭."

Fans have been shipping the We Live in Time actor and Chicken Shop Date's Amelia Dimoldenberg since their first red carpet interview at the 2022 GQ Men of the Year Awards, and the internet was overjoyed when Andrew finally took part in a 2024 episode of Chicken Shop Date.

“Don't, like, bring out a ring or get down on one knee, I'm not in the mood today," Amelia jokes. "It's been vibey to the point where you've been avoiding me for two years because the vibes were too much for you to handle, so I'm actually surprised you're here."

After choosing between Tobey Maguire, Tom Holland, and Amelia in a game of "Snog, Marry, Avoid" (he picked her to avoid), Andrew makes his own joke, telling her, "This is called flirting Amelia. This is actually a first date."

"I actually believe, maybe, we could've [gone on a real date]," he adds, "without all of this." Swoon!

Who else have Demi Moore and Andrew Garfield dated?

Andrew Garfield previously dated his Amazing Spider-Man costar Emma Stone from 2011 to 2015, while Demi Moore was married to Bruce Willis from 1987 to 2000 and Ashton Kutcher from 2005 to 2011.

What's the age gap between Andrew Garfield and Demi Moore?

Demi Moore was born on November 11, 1962, making her 62 years old, while Andrew Garfield was born on August 20, 1983 and is 41 years old. That means there's a 21 year age gap between the actors.
