These Are the Golden Globes Red Carpet Trends You Can Buy RN

Sunday night, the biggest names in movies and television came out to kick off the 2017 awards season. The Golden Globes (AKA the biggest party in Hollywood) served up some major fashion moments. Stars rocked the red carpet and didn’t hold back, embracing bold hues, mesmerizing metallics and showstopping silhouettes. It’s safe to say, the Globes will be a hard act to follow (good luck People’s Choice Awards, Grammys and Oscars). From eye-catching canary yellow to metallurgic magic, there were more than a few trends that stole the show. Scroll down for every red carpet trend that will actually affect your late-night style in 2017 (and of course some pieces to help you pull ’em off IRL).

Black & White

This year celebs modernized this classic color combo with intricate details and unique silhouettes. Sienna Miller flaunted her fab figure in Michael Kors. Janelle Monae looked out of this world in Armani. Michelle Williams enchanted us all in her lace Louis Vuitton design (no wonder she’s the face of their new ad campaign). Expect to see more of this color combo in stores this season and in the fall.

Sarah Jessica Parker:If there’s one woman who embodies fashion, it’s SJP. Much like her beloved character, Carrie Bradshaw, Parker is a fashion icon — she’s also a designer. Not surprisingly, the Divorce star’s off-the-shoulder Vera Wang gown didn’t disappoint. (Photo via Frazer Harrison/Getty)

Heidi Klum:Heidi Klum is known far and wide for her fashion risks — and Sunday night, it totally paid off. The supermodel nailed modern elegance in a geometric black and white J. Mendel creation. (Photo via Frazer Harrison/Getty)

1. Dress the Population Shawn Sequin Midi Dress ($264): This midi dress is a bona fide knockout. The bodycon silhouette shows off your shape, while the glistening ombre draws all eyes up and down (and up and down again). Safe to say all eyes will be on you.

PRETTY IN PINK

It should have been called the pink carpet! Singer Carrie Underwood showed up in her springy, petal pink number. And she wasn’t alone. Connie Britton in Edition by Georges Chakra, Felicity Jones in Gucci and Angela Basset in Christian Siriano all choose a version of the feminine hue. Pink has been steadily rising up the ranks for the past two seasons thanks to street style-approved toppers and statement shoes, so we’re excited to see this shade make its way onto the red carpet.

Emma Stone: And a star is born! Alright, so the La La Land actress was already an A-lister, but her star shined even brighter in this blush Valentino stunner. (Photo via Frazer Harrison/Getty)

Zoe Saldana:Saldana could wear a paper bag and look stunning. Luckily, it didn’t come to that. When Saldana walked down the red carpet wearing a Gucci, she took our breath away. (Photo via Frazer Harrison/Getty)

2. Likely Packard Dress ($198):Pink doesn’t have to be cutesy. Case in point, this sophisticated one-shoulder number. The contoured silhouette and front slit make it feel mature, yet totally party-ready. All you need are some sparkling statement earrings and you’re ready to hit the hottest soiree in town.

Princess Moments

It’s time to pull out your tiara because the Golden Globes were nothing short of a fairy tale. Starlets like Hailee Steinfeld, Lily Collins and Olivia Culpo looked positively royal in their gorgeous gowns. Get ready to say buh-bye to bodycon and usher in a slew of figure-flattering, fanciful frocks.

Lily Collins:Collins style choices are always on point. She looked like a modern-day princess in a rose-covered masterpiece by Zuhair Murad. (Photo via Frazer Harrison/Getty)

Olivia Culpo: The former Miss USA showed up looking fierce AF in a regal Zuhair Murad. Not everyone could pull off such an ornate gown, but then again not everyone has Culpo’s grace and elegance. (Photo via REX/Shutterstock)

3. Adrianna Papell Sequin Two-Piece Gown ($249): We love this edgy take on a classic princess gown featuring a sequin crop top and full skirt. Now all you need are your glass slippers, err sparkling pumps, and a charming date.

All Over Glitz

It wouldn’t be the Golden Globes without a serious dose of glitz and glam. And this year took it to a whole new level! Regina King glittered in Romona Keveza. Sarah Paulson channeled ’80s style in a backless gown by Marc Jacobs. Tracee Ellis Ross was positively metallurgic when she accepted her award in Zuhair Murad. Come Fall ’17, expect to see a barrage of bedazzled separates, high-voltage tops for day and night and dresses that dare people to stare.

Naomie Harris:The Moonlight actress looked statuesque in a metallic corset-style gown by Armani Privé. It fits her so perfectly, it almost looks like she’s covered in liquid metal. (Photo via Frazer Harrison/Getty)

Ruth Negga: If you hadn’t heard of Ruth Negga before, she’s the ultra-talented lead in Loving and soon-to-be constant on everyone’s best-dressed list. This Hollywood newcomer sure made a name for herself when she showed up in this impeccably tailored, metallic column dress by Louis Vuitton. We give it five stars. (Photo via Frazer Harrison/Getty)

4. Forever 21 Mirrored Sequin Dress ($48):Go bling or go home! This mini, featuring mirrored sequins, a high neckline and button keyhole back, is a modern and major way to jump on the metallic bandwagon.

Take the Plunge

If you got it flaunt it… and flaunt they did. Stars like Gina Rodriguez, Keri Russell and Louise Roe showed some skin with super low-cut necklines. Our prediction? Deep v-necks and strategic cutouts will continue to dominate your favorite stores in looks that are as sexy as they are classy.

Mandy Moore:Moore has been in the press more than ever thanks to her hit show, This Is Us. But tonight all anyone can talk about is her jaw-dropping Naeem Khan gown. (Photo via Frazer Harrison/Getty)

Jessica Biel: As if we need another reason to be jealous of Biel (women everywhere were already envious of her bangin’ bod and ultra-talented hubby). The way she rocked her Elie Saab — complete with a deep V and thigh-high slit — turned us positively green. (Photo via Frazer Harrison/Getty)

5. Yumi Kim Rush Hour Maxi ($298): Ready to wow? This slinky silk maxi is complete with an eye-catching deep V front and ultra-high slit. Warning, this dress is not for the faint of heart.

Tux Redux

Let’s hear it for the boys, err girls. This year, Octavia Spencer, Kristen Bell, Evan Rachel Wood and Kathryn Hahn embraced their masculine side with super chic tuxedo-inspired looks. THIS is the style that will have the most impact on stores like Zara, Express, Mango and Missguided. Make room in your closet for a ladylike tux or nighttime pantsuit that will redefine your evening style. #pantsuitscantlose

Kristen Bell: Bell was positively beguiling in a sequin Jenny Packham tux. Move over Dax Shepard, your wife just pulled off menswear-inspired like nobody’s business. (Photo via Venturelli/WireImage)

6. Missguided Long Sleeve Tuxedo Dress ($72):The perfect blend of masculine and feminine, this black blazer dress is as fierce as it gets! The structured cut, silk collar and gold buttons are beyond chic.

Canary Yellow

We counted no less than five rays of sunshine making their way down the red carpet. From Reese Witherspoon in Nina Ricci to Viola Davis’s one-shoulder Michael Kors gown, this cheerful trend has us smiling from ear to ear — which is great news, because this hue was all over the runway for spring 2017.

Emily Ratajkowski: The California beauty and Insta sensation (@emrata) glammed up the red carpet in a body-skimming silk gown by Reem Acra. Between the dramatic slit, plunging neckline and crystal-encrusted neck tie, we couldn’t take our eyes off her. (Photo via Rob Latour/REX/Shutterstock)

Natalie Portman: No one pulls off a baby bump like Portman. She epitomized pregnancy-chic in a sunny Prada frock. (Photo via Neilson Barnard/ Getty)

7. SWF Isabella Dress ($262): Mustard has never looked so good! This figure-flattering gown is red carpet-ready. All you need are a pair of strappy nude heels and fabulous clutch.

Despite the fact her first role was at the age of 16, 62-year-old Demi Moore just took home her first-ever major acting award at the 2025 Golden Globes for playing Elizabeth Sparkle in The Substance. While the win is a new kind of victory, it's her acceptance speech that truly made the most impact.

Watch Demi Moore's emotional acceptance speech at the 2025 Golden Globes below.

After a producer told her she was a "popcorn actress" in her 30s, Demi Moore "made that mean that [accolades weren't] something that I was allowed to have."

The actress "bought in" to the idea that she could make super successful movies but never get acknowledgement for them. "I believed that, and that corroded me over time, to the point where I thought a few years ago that maybe this was it," she continues in her speech. "Maybe I was complete, maybe I've done what I was supposed to do. And as I was at kind of a low point, I had this magical, bold, courageous, out-of-the-box, absolutely bonkers script come across my desk called The Substance."

In an era where women are constantly fighting the idea that we're too much — too needy, too emotional, too loud — while also battling the narrative that we're not skinny, young, or pretty enough, The Substance showed Demi that "you're not done," she says. The movie follows 50-year-old Elisabeth Sparkle who's fired from her aerobics TV show because of her age...and winds up buying a black market serum to reconnect with a "more perfect" version of herself (played by Margaret Qualley). The movie made waves with its commentary on beauty standards, and the markets that profit off them.

"In those moments when we don't think we're smart enough or pretty enough or skinny enough or successful enough, or basically just not enough, I had a woman say to me, 'Just know you will never be 'enough,' but you can know the value of your worth if you just put down the measuring stick.'"

"And so today," Demi continues, "I celebrate this as a marker of my wholeness and of the love that is driving me, and for the gift of doing something I love and being reminded that I do belong."

After her win, Demi Moore had another special moment when Entertainment Tonight showed her her family's reaction! "They're a vocal crowd," the actress said of daughter Scout Willis' video showing the family screaming at the top of their lungs. "I don't have my glasses with me, so I haven't been able to read any of my messages," she jokes. "But as soon as I am finished they will be my first FaceTime."

"Everything I do is for them," she continues. "It's for my daughters, for my daughter's daughter. I hope in that same way that that translates out also for all women."

We're sending a major congratulations to Demi Moore on her Golden Globe win! And there was one other big surprise at the awards show: Zendaya showed up rocking a ring on THAT finger. Read all about it!

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have made headlines again, but now Hailey Bieber— and all the alleged drama with her — is back in the picture. We were under the impression she was excited for the couple's engagement, but one fan claims she's back at her shady behavior...and it's making people look at her sideways all over again. Here's what allegedly happened, plus what Hailey had to say about it all!

Scroll to find out if Hailey Bieber actually threw shade at Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco...

Neilson Barnard/Getty Images for Vanity Fair

Hailey Bieber can't seem to catch a break in the news. Though we reported she liked Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco's engagement post last year, there was a suggestion she may have other thoughts about them. It's no secret she and Selena allegedly aren't the best of friends, but we never would've suspected she'd do what one person claims she did.

According to TikTok creator @courtneypresto, Hailey liked a video where she admits to being "a little shady to Selena Gomez." She also shared a couple of interesting pictures of her and Benny's Interview Magazine feature with one of them showing Benny smiling while the singer's two feet are on his cheeks.

But Hailey apparently thinks the creator's claim is "fake news" because her rep told Page Six, "This never happened." To make things slightly worse, the rep also threw @courtneypresto under the bus. "This entire story has been fabricated by a content creator looking to capitalize off of an old, tired narrative." You can't see us, but this statement made us choke on our lattes.

Neilson Barnard/Getty Images for Vanity Fair

Buzzfeed reports the model also shared a personal statement on Instagram, but it's unclear who she was referring to. The message started off with, "pastors and preachers really love to put words together with the same letter and act like it's HITTING so crazy..." before she signed off with "...sh-- drives me bananas."

As for Selena & Benny? They're in their own paradise and the singer's recent post dedicated to the producer proves it. She shared a sweet Instagram carousel that captured intimate moments of their love to celebrate his birthday. "I’m not sure what I did to deserve you but damn am I glad you were born.. happy birthday baby ♥️."

Maybe Hailey Bieber liked the original shady TikTok by accident? Whatever the case, we hope the girls aren't fighting again!

Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively just premiered their new movie Another Simple Favor at the 2025 SXSW Festival (you can stream it on Prime Video May 1), and aside from buzz about the movie itself, the internet is going wild for one simple reason. Anna Kendrick got a little sassy when asked what it was like to reunite with Blake for the film, and while the drama surrounding Blake's It Ends With Us legal battle didn't delay the movie, social media users can't stop talking about Anna's reaction.

Here's what Anna Kendrick said about working with Blake Lively on Another Simple Favor.

Anna Kendrick's comments about Blake Lively just went viral.

While greeting fans at the movie premiere, Anna was asked what it meant to be working with Blake again, to which Anna doesn't even stop. She just responds, "Oh, you know."

"'Oh you know' are the exact words I say when someone asks me how I am and I am barely hanging on," one TikTok user jokes in the comments, while another speculates, "I think she hates the hate Blake is getting and how the media is out to get click bait from her about it."

@varietymagazine How is the release of "Another Simple Favor" being affected by everything going on in the world? Anna Kendrick: "Why, what happened? I did ayahuasca and the last year of my life is just gone." #SXSW♬ original sound - Variety

The actress was also asked about "everything going on" (undoubtedly alluding to the It Ends With Us drama), to which Anna responded, "Why, what happened? I did ayahuasca and the last year of my life is just gone."

Anna is known for her sense of humor, and TikTok users commented saying this "was a phenomenal answer" and that she's "effortlessly funny."

Anna opened up about reuniting with Blake for the sequel, telling People in October 2024 that getting cast members from the first A Simple Favor back together again was "a little bit like riding a bike."

"She lives on the East Coast, I live on the West Coast, so we don't get to see each other often," she says. "But it was lovely, and I think that those characters have such weird chemistry that it's so fun to just get the gang back together."

And when someone tweeted that Blake Lively was "terrified to walk the carpet" and Anna Kendrick was "pissed and never wants to work with her again," director Paul Feig retweeted with a simple, "Um … you’re wrong." And I'll take his word for it.
