These Intricate Updos Dominated the 2018 Golden Globes Red Carpet

While last night’s red carpet was all about the fashion, there was plenty of glam to behold in the beauty department too, (see Millie Bobby Brown’s rosy lips and Emma Stone’s Suffragette-inspired makeup palette). When it came to hair, rather than the long, loose locks we’ve grown used to seeing on the carpet for recent awards, updos reigned supreme, with plenty of interesting takes that turned heads. Find out how some of Hollywood’s top stylists achieved red carpet perfection for their A-list clients below!

1. Allison Williams: The Get Out star twisted up her newly returned brunette locks in a striking braided bun updo that showed off her fierce brows and gorgeous face. In a press release, her stylist, Rebekah Forecast said, “For Allison’s confident personality and elegant demeanor, we went for a pulled-back modern and bold look to match. She recently became a brunette again, so I used the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Color Smoothing Serum ($9) on her to protect her tresses and keep her color vibrant.” Forecast created waves using a flat-iron and a blow dryer before splitting her hair into top and bottom ponytails. 2. Millie Bobby Brown: At first glance, the Stranger Things star seemingly rocked a classic sleek top knot, but it’s actually the back of her bun that has us swooning. Her hairstylist, Blake Erik, created a stunning set of three braids from the crown of her neck to the top of her knot, which fans speculated symbolized her famous character’s name, Eleven (note the “11” imagery), or even an “M” for Millie. Erik insists it was purely coincidence, however, telling Refinery29, “It definitely was not an intentional Eleven reference. 3. Gal Gadot: There’s just no denying it: Gal Gadot is a RL Wonder Woman. All eyes were on the actress as she headed down the GG red carpet, and true to form, she delivered some serious edge, both in the wardrobe and hair departments. Dove stylist Mark Townsend aimed for a ‘do that was equally chic and badass, giving her “a French twist with height, texture, and beautiful shine. It was the perfect feminine silhouette to juxtapose her amazing look,” he said in a press release. He curled her locks before splitting them into two French twists, “one at the nape of her neck, and the other right in line with her ears to ensure all of her hair could be pulled back properly,” before teasing the pieces at her hairline to give it a softer look. 4. Dakota Johnson: The Fifty Shades Freed star paired her ultra-glam Gucci gown with a messy, sexy ponytail, keeping her signature sideswept bangs front and center. Her hair guru, Dove stylist Johnnie Sapong, achieved the bombshell look (which is totally easy to recreate) by blowdrying her hair before backcombing at the roots, pulling the 28-year-old’s long locks into a loose pony while being sure to keep some face-framing waves at the front. He then curled her hair for added texture, and voilà! Red carpet ready.

Sydney Sweeney Is A Total Bombshell After Postponing Her Wedding

Sydney Sweeney rocked the internet when she announced she'd postponed her wedding to Jonathan Davino. But she rocked my world when she showed up to the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty in a bombshell Barbie ensemble that I am immediately adding to my Pinterest. And we have the full breakdown on how you can achieve Sydney's drop dead gorgeous hair.

Sydney Sweeney turned heads when she showed up to the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty in a mesmerizing pink Miu Miu dress with a keyhole detail and mermaid style skirt.

To achieve that glossy, healthy hair, hairstylist Glen Oropeza used a couple drops from Kératase's new Gloss Absolu Glaze Drops, followed by the Kérastase L'Incroyable Blow Dry Hair Lotion. A hairdryer and round brush (plus a touch of hairspray) gave Syd's hair that bouncy finish.

One of my favorite tricks for my own straight hair is to apply a leave-in conditioner, like the Christophe Robin Hydrating Leave-In Cream, to my dry hair and let it soak up all that moisture. It makes it shinier, smoother, and healthier than ever!

This isn't the first time recently one of Sydney's looks started some serious online buzz. After a post of Sydney's new role as boxer Christy Martin received some hate comments, the actress clapped back with a video of her training for the movie.

12 At-Home Latte Recipes For An Easy (& Tasty!) Morning Pick-Me-Up

On today's episode of "TikTok Made Me Do It," we'll be talking about my latest obsession: at-home latte recipes! It would be funny if I weren't joking because the running joke is social media influences people to do too much. But, there are healthy things to pick up from like spending less money at Starbucks because you've become your own barista.

With the help of my Ninja Espresso machine, I've whipped up everything from a cinnamon sugar to a matcha latte, and they've been frighteningly good coming from someone who rarely drinks coffee.

Iced Caramel & Cinnamon Sugar Latte

This was my first successful attempt at making an at-home latte recipe and it's easily become my favorite thing to drink in the morning. A ton of trial and error was involved, but I've perfected the amount of ingredients I like to use so it's super easy to make.

Ingredients:

3 Teaspoons Cinnamon Sugar

2-3 Teaspoons of Nescafé Gold Espresso Blonde, Instant Coffee

Ghiradelli Premium Caramel Sauce

Caramel Syrup (any brand works!)

Unsweetened Original Almond Milk (I Prefer Silk)

A mini hand frother (if you don't have an espresso machine at home)

Ice

Steps:

  1. Drizzle caramel sauce in your glass of choice and add ice to it.
  2. Using a separate, smaller cup, scoop in cinnamon sugar and Nescafe' Gold Espresso Blonde. Pour in a small amount of unsweetened almond milk and use a handheld frother to mix them together. Set aside once done.
  3. Take the same unsweetened almond milk and pour in a few oz. to the glass you drizzled caramel sauce in.
  4. Pour your cinnamon sugar, milk and, Nescafé Gold Espresso Blonde mixture into it.
  5. Enjoy!

Does strawberry and caramel really go together? If you ask this delicious latte, they do! I actually used the same ingredients from my Caramel & Cinnamon Sugar Latte outside of using strawberry syrup instead of caramel! The only tip I have is to avoid being heavy-handed with how much you use because it can be unbearable sweet if you're not eyeing it. Two pumps at the most should do the trick!

Summer's only a few months away so it's time to start thinking about easy-going latte recipes that don't feel like you're preparing for a long, harsh winter. Sydney Sweeney & Brandon Sklenar’s Cheeky New Video Is Making Us Blush

Sydney Sweeney broke the internet when she announced she'd postponed her engagement. And when she clapped back at her bikini body haters. And when she went topless on Instagram. But her recent Instagram post from filming The Housemaid just broke our Brit + Co group chat because of just how many times Brandon Sklenar appeared — and one very specific video that had us squealing.

Throughout Sydney Sweeney's newest Instagram post, which she calls "a very very late jan x feb photo dump," she posts some reunions with Euphoria costars Maude Apatow and Barbie Ferrera and behind the scenes from The Housemaid (where she stars opposite Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar).

I couldn't help but notice that Brandon shows up multiple times in the photo carousel: a selfie while he, Sydney, and a couple other women wear racing helmets, a photo in an arcade, and then a video where they're trying out a TikTok trend.

In the video, Brandon lifts Sydney up to sit on his shoulders while Rihanna's "Breakin' Dishes" plays in the background. They do more than a couple attempts until they get the video just right — and that includes lots of giggles from Syd, and a moment where she almost falls off his back.

"we love costars with chemistry," one X user says, while another adds, "They look so cute together."

Although, my goodness, if a man lifted me onto his shoulder that easily, I'd be in a fit of giggles too! (Although his strength makes sense given his upcoming role in The Olympian).

A third X user wonders whether the video is just a marketing strategy to drum up conversation — especially after Sydney confirmed all that chemistry with Glen Powell during Anyone But You was literally just to get the internet in a tizzy.

"I wanted to make sure that we were actively having a conversation with the audience as we were promoting this film," she told The New York Times. "Because at the end of the day, they’re the ones who created the entire narrative."

"Once [the movie] did become a success, a lot of the interviews were just questions about [the rumors], so I don’t know if we necessarily were planning on ever talking about the strategy behind any of it," she added in a conversation with Vanity Fair. "We just had very specific questions and when you say no to a question, people think that you’re a b—ch, so."
