This App Wants to Give You Your Life Back

Between your email, reminders, to-do lists and notes, keeping track of everything you need to get done in a day has become not only overwhelming, but almost impossible. And it’s no wonder. Checking at least four different apps frequently throughout the day has become a task in itself. In fact, statistics show that we spend entire Netflix bingewatching time periods per week in our email alone. Here’s where the new app Handle comes in. Handle isn’t just designed to help you prioritize your daily to dos, it wants to give you your life back.

Before we jump into a review, let’s delve into exactly what the app can do. The idea is simple: Handle combines your to-do list, calendar and email into one seamless application. While you might be thinking these are all things you already have on your phone, the beauty of Handle is its ability to combine all those things into one clean, organized place. Begin by syncing your e-mail accounts and calendar to include any pre-existing events. From there you can view your email in the app. If a message includes something important, simply swipe right to create a to-do, be reminded later or add it to your calendar. If you want to remember to read certain messages later, swipe left to be reminded to read at another point in time.

The email feature is definitely one of Handle’s main selling points, but that’s far from the only thing it’s good for. You can also easily create to-dos unrelated to your email, set due dates and pick reminder times to work around your schedule.

What We Love: A major way Handle helps you keep from getting overwhelmed by everything you need to get done is by organizing all of your tasks, email related and otherwise, in order of importance on a timeline. If you have a meeting in three weeks, you can input that into the app, but it won’t show up until you need to be reminded about it. Instead, you see what’s important to do get done today and tomorrow. Another super cool feature is Handle’s ability to nudge you about something at a specific location. For example, if you keep forgetting to pick up stamps at the post office, input the address and you’ll receive an alert when you’re nearby. Similar to Evernote, Handle also syncs up on all your mobile devices as well as on your desktop through a Chrome extension.

What We Just Like-Like: While there ins’t a specific thing we struggled with while using Handle, there is A LOT you can do with it, almost to the point where it can become overwhelming. Like anything, using it takes some getting used to. The greater challenge, though, is forcing yourself to break the habit of checking all those different apps you currently use out of fear that you’ll forget something. Like anything, it takes practice, but when you’ve grown accustomed to it, it’s definitely worth the change.

What We Hope Comes in the Next Upgrade: One thing that’s doesn’t appear to be an option at the moment is creating a reoccurring to-do. Say you want to be reminded every day to feed the dog at 6 PM, or take a medication in the morning — you’ll have to set that up in a separate app for now. But considering the app was only released two weeks ago, we’re guessing it won’t be long until updates like this begin to become available.

It seems like the Sunday scaries came earlier now that TikTok's likely officially banned in the U.S. (goodbye BookTok)? Viral social media or not, every Sunday some of us get that dreaded feeling before the start of a new work week. There's even an entire Instagram account that accurately describes how we feel when the 'I hope this reaches you well' emails start rolling in on Monday.

While I definitely relate, What if I told you there were things you could do to lessen your anxious thoughts so you can have a productive week? They're not going to solve all of your problems, but they'll put those pesky Sunday thoughts in a bowl of Epsom salt so you can finally relax.

Here are some easy things to do on a Sunday to make your week amazing!

1. Set aside time for prayer or meditation when you wake up

Before you reach for your phone to check the news or your social feeds, take a few seconds to let yourself fully wake up. Once you're feeling more present in your body, say a prayer or find a meditation practice to do for 5-10 minutes. It's a great way to ground yourself while lowering your chance of rushing to get everything done before Monday.

2. Indulge in a longer morning routine

You don't have to tell us that you probably speed through your morning routine during the work week so give yourself permission to go a little slower on Sunday. You can soak in a lavender or eucalyptus epsom salt bath, or spend time exfoliating your body while in the shower. You can also use the new face mask you've been meaning to apply to your face!

Other things you can do are light a yummy smelling candle and listen to a soothing music playlist that makes you feel calm. It's our favorite way to create an at-home spa experience!

3. Begin planning your weekly tasks

This doesn't sound like fun, but having a snapshot of what you need to do during the week helps you stay on a track better than winging it. Something is bound to come up that pushes your tasks back, but you won't feel as rattled when your plans are upheaved.

In your physical or digital planner, block out your potential schedule based on tasks you know are more important than others. This will help you get more things done, making work less stressful.

4. Go grocery shopping so you can meal prep

Meal prepping doesn't have to involve an elaborate plan, especially if you don't like to cook. Think about what you generally like to eat during the week. Let's say you usually drink smoothies in the morning, salads for lunch, and a mediterranean bowl for dinner.

You can create a grocery list that mainly involves produce (i.e. romaine lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, peppers, cucumbers, etc.,) and a lean meat or fish. From there, you can find different salad dressings, toppings, or seasonings that'll help you create several meals based on what's in your cart.

5. Tackle your overflowing laundry

You know the pile of clothes and towels you keep walking by, pretending like they're not there? They're going to irritate you during your busy week so start washing them on Sunday. As much as joke about not liking to fold our clothes once they've been washed and dried, it truly feels good not to have more tasks to focus on after a long work day.

6. Plan your OOTDs (even if you WFH)

We're not asking you to become the world's next influencer by suggesting you should plan your OOTDs on Sunday. It's more of a way to help shake off any anxiety or angst during the week. Even wearing a new cozy rib knit set while you work from home can boost your mood, helping you perform much better at work.

7. Do something just for you

I've been working from home since long before it became the norm. And my "office" has evolved from a spindled-back chair at the kitchen table to an airy home office with a view. Twohy’s been a TJ’s fan ever since she was little, where she remembers joining her mom on grocery trips to the very first Trader Joe’s store in Pasadena, California. Since then, her love for the Trader Joe’s ‘treasure hunt’ (AKA finding fun, new products to try) hasn’t wavered.

In developing The I Love Trader Joe's Cookbook: 15th Anniversary Edition, Twohy said crafting the collection of 150 recipes took years.

“Many were tested and debuted when I had a cooking school in CA,” she said. “Now that I live 3 hours round-trip from the closest Trader Joe's, the drive can take longer than the recipe testing! I don't pay much attention to the clock when honing a recipe, because it's so much fun.”

When asked about her favorite items to pick up from TJ’s Twohy was quick to give her best recommendations! Some of her go-to’s include: puff pastry, fennel, the Umami Seasoning Blend, the Corn and Chile Tomato-less Salsa, frozen garlic cubes, creme fraiche, and 10 Minute Farro – and, of course, the entire cheese section.

“If you are a ‘can of this, package of that’ sort of cook, TJ's products are great because they don't use artificial colors, preservatives and all that stuff,” Twohy offered. “Not only [are they] time saving, but good for you, too.”

We were lucky enough to get a peek at some recipes from Twohy’s cookbook: One-Pot Pesto Pasta, Potatoes, and Green Beans and Linguini with Leeks, Shrimp, and Arugula. Scroll on for the deets!

Recipe: One-Pot Pesto Pasta, Potatoes, and Green Beans

"The first time I heard of this classic Ligurian dish, I thought it sounded so strange," Twohy writes. "Talk about carb overload! But the flavors, textures, and colors couldn’t be more perfectly paired, and you’ll be converted to the pasta-and-potato combination with the first bite."

Ingredients:

  • 1 large boiling potato (or two small ones)
  • 1/2 pound green beans, trimmed and cut into 3-inch lengths
  • 1/2 (16-ounce) bag thin pasta, such as capellini or spaghetti
  • 1/2 cup Trader Joe’s Pesto alla Genovese (in the refrigerated section)
  • 2 ounces Trader Joe’s Chevre Goat Cheese, softened
  • Salt and pepper

Directions:

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Meanwhile, scrub the potato and cut into 1-inch cubes. Place the potato cubes in the boiling water and cook until barely tender, about 7 minutes. Scoop the potatoes out of the water with a slotted spoon and set aside.
  2. Add the green beans to the same water and cook until just tender, 5 to 6 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and add to the potatoes.
  3. In the same water, cook the pasta until tender. When you drain the pasta, reserve 1⁄2 cup of the cooking water.
  4. In the pasta pot, combine the pesto, goat cheese, and 1⁄4 cup of the water, then add the cooked pasta and toss. Add the potatoes and green beans.
  5. If a saucier consistency is desired, add a bit more of the reserved pasta water. Adjust seasonings to taste with salt and pepper.

Recipe: Linguini with Leeks, Shrimp, and Arugula

"I’m a sucker for the pink-and-green look of this dish," Twohy writes. "The leeks, arugula, and shrimp get all tangled up in the long pasta strands, and the grated Parmesan provides a nutty saltiness I just love."

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 leeks, cleaned and thinly sliced
  • 2 cubes frozen crushed garlic
  • 1/2 cup vegetable broth
  • 1/2 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 (16-ounce) bag linguini (or another long pasta), cooked and drained
  • A handful of arugula
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper

Directions:

  1. In a medium sauté pan, heat the olive oil and butter. Sauté the leeks over medium-high heat until tender, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the garlic and sauté 1 to 2 minutes, until fragrant.
  3. Add the vegetable broth and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, until the sauce is slightly reduced.
  4. Add the shrimp and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until pink.
  5. Toss the leek-shrimp mixture with the cooked pasta. Add the arugula and toss.
  6. Add the grated Parmesan, toss, and adjust seasonings to taste with salt and pepper.

Yes, Apple TV renewed Severance for a season 3 on March 21, 2025.

“Making Severance has been one of the most creatively exciting experiences I’ve ever been a part of,” executive producer and director Ben Stiller says in a statement. He jokes that, “While I have no memory of this, I’m told making season three will be equally enjoyable, though any recollection of these future events will be forever and irrevocably wiped from my memory as well.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to get back to work with Ben, Dan, the incredible cast and crew, Apple and the whole Severance team,” executive Adam Scott (who also plays Mark) adds. “Oh hey also — not a huge deal — but if you see my innie, please don’t mention any of this to him. Thanks.”

When is Severance season 3 coming out?

We don't have an official Severance season 3 release date yet, but we do know it won't take another three years for new episodes to come out. (We all remember the 3-year wait between seasons 1 and 2).

During an appearance on New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, Ben Stiller promises that "the plan is not, definitely not" to release Severance season 3 in 2028.

  • John Turturro as Irving Bailiff: a Lumon employee who works with Mark.

What happens at the end of Severance season 2?

The Severance season 2 ending is truly devastating. In the final moments of the episode, outie Mark and Gemma finally reunite in the moment we've been waiting literal years for. They decide to make their escape, but when they slip back into their innie selves, Mark S. decides he doesn't want to sacrifice himself for his outie. He stays with Helly at Lumon while Gemma (who had managed to escape, reverting to her outie self) looks on, screaming his name and beating on the door.

Where does Severance film?

Severance has been filmed in locations like New Jersey's Bell Labs, as well as various locations around New York, including York Studios, Kingston, Nyack, Marine Park Golf Course, Ulster County, and Beacon.
