It’s been a brutal winter, but there is some comfort in knowing that we’ve finally made it to the home stretch of the season. March 20th marks the first day of spring, and boy, are we pretty freaking excited. So much so that we can wait until then to start the spring projects. Between adorable tiny easter egg vases to a custom hanging garden, we’re more than ready for the seasonal shift. If you’re not quite there yet, no worries. There are plenty of other options to choose from. Here are 10 projects to tackle this weekend.
1. Eggshell Hanging Planters: Whether you’re ready or not, Easter is on its way. If you can’t get yourself to start dyeing eggs just yet, slip into the spring spirit with these adorable miniature planters made from eggshells. (via Brit + Co)
2. Gold Dipped Pendant: While it might look like an expensive designer piece, this pretty gold dipped pendant is actually made from clay and a little bit of gold paint. If you’re in need of a gift idea, here’s a serious contender. (via The Homesteady)
3. Yarn Wall Art: Need something cheap and fun to spruce up a boring wall? Head over to the craft store for a few bundles of yarn and a wooden dowel and get making. (via Two Thirty Five Designs)
4. Customized Phone Case: If you get bored with your phone cases easily, save yourself a chunk of change and snag a clear case that you can style a bunch of different ways. (via Brit + Co)
5. Hanging Garden: If you’re living the apartment life, don’t feel like you can’t get planting come spring. If you have access to a few power tools, whip up this adorable hanging garden in just a few hours. It’s gorgeous as-is, but being the color-loving folks we are, we’d love to see a version where all the terracotta pots are painted in different designs or colors. (via Brit + Co)
6. Paper Patchwork: If you’ve acquired a giant stack of magazines that you keep promising yourself you’re going to do something with, here’s the perfect way to actually put them to good use. Use this template to create an intricate patchwork-like pattern out of the pages. It is quick? No. Is it worth it? Totally. (via FRK Hansen)
7. Fur Vest: Stay warm and fashionable throughout the last leg of winter in this easy-to-make statement vest! (via Brit + Co)
8. Cross Stitch Ampersand: All you need is a blank canvas and embroidery thread to create this adorably simple ampersand sign. (via Join the Mood)
9. Essential Oil Perfume: Ditch the expensive perfumes and create your own custom scent using beeswax and essential oils. (via My Life at Playtime)
10. Cigar Jewelry Box: If you’re headed to the flea market this weekend, be on the hunt for a cigar box that you can transform into a custom jewelry box. (via Annabode)
