Attention, Harry Potter fans: Grab your robes and wands because you can spend this Halloween weekend at Hogwarts. In celebration of everyone’s favorite holiday and favorite wizard, there will be three nights of Harry Potter hijinx and hysteria — Hogwarts After Dark — at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London: The Making of Harry Potter in the United Kingdom.
For the second year, this adults-only event takes place on the hallowed evenings of Friday, October 26, Saturday, October 27, and Sunday, October 28 and includes a jaw-dropping array of mystical and mysterious fun. The setting for this kind of Harry Potter celebration could not be any better; The Warner Bros. Studio Tour London is home to the original sets from the film series and includes a huge collection of props and ephemera that can’t be seen anywhere else. (Photo via Warner Bros. The evening begins with eerie dry ice cocktails accompanied by various canapés. Soon after, revelers head to the Great Hall which will be totally transformed in honor or Halloween with over 100 floating pumpkins as seen in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Just like Harry, Hermione, and Ron, guests will feast in the same area that used for the film, and the evening includes a two-course dinner and drinks. Included are seasonal appetizers of smoked duck with a pumpkin puree and blood orange jelly and a veggie option of goat cheese ravioli with roasted squash and pumpkin seed granola. The main course includes the likes of a roasted lamb, a vegetable pudding, or a vegan tarte tatin. Each course will be paired with wine (and hopefully some pumpkin juice or gillywater).
After the big feast, diners will grab lanterns and follow the spiders to the Forbidden Forest where a spider-free dessert will be served in the form of a yummy cherry tart, a spiced pumpkin brulee, or a dark chocolate and forest fruit mousse. Buckbeak the Hippogriff and Aragog the Acromantula will be in attendance for photo ops. (Photo via Sunny Chanel)
After bellies are full, visitors get to explore the Studio Tour with highlights like the Gryffindor common room, Snape’s classroom, and the Weasley’s kitchen from The Burrow, but without the enormous crowds and rowdy kids. Throughout the night, Death Eaters will be strolling around wearing actual costumes from the film. Don’t worry; they won’t chill you to the bone, but you can get up close and personal to admire the details of the embroidered robes and hand-painted masks. (Photo via Sunny Chanel)
As an added bonus, participants in this magical night will get to meet members of the Prop Making Department who will give the inside scoop to how they created the pumpkin magic in the Great Room. Additionally, Paul Harris, the Wand Choreographer, will be on hand to teach a few wand combat moves (which will come in hand when a live duel occurs later in the evening). The night concludes with a Butterbeer and a stroll through the darkly lit corridors of Diagon Alley while Death Eaters patrol the area. Magical, right?
Tickets to this epic Halloween extravaganza will go on sale on August 28 and will cost about $300 (£240).
