After episode 6 of Succession's final season, it seems the Roy kids are toeing the line between total harmony and things chaotically spiraling out of control. Here's everything we know (and love) about the final season of Succession.
Succession Season 4, Episode 6 Recap: "Tailgate Party"
Episode 7 greets us at a fittingly awkward exchange between Tom and Shiv, who are still holding onto the rubble of their broken relationship for dear life. Tom gifts Shiv an encased scorpion between forced giggles, delivering a symbolic "you kill me, and I kill you" message that's representative of whether or not their bond is real or not (we're betting on the latter). The tension between these two broken lovebirds rises to a past-boiling point in a volcanic fight after Shiv's ex (hi again, Nate!) and Lukas Matsson show up to the tailgate party.
Though Shiv isn't saving any energy for her dilapidated marriage. Instead, she channels it into strategizing the Matsson-ATN deal behind her brother's backs. She's the inner ear of GoJo's recent flops in India, which sets off the brothers during the party to amend any business deal that ends in their favor. She wastes no time to leverage her (dysfunctional) friendship with Matsson to argue for a stronger leadership role. Roman's directing Connor to drop out of the race for the sake of Waystar's numbers as Kendall's desperately searching for ways to usurp GoJo in its weakened state, slightly embarrassing himself (and the company) along the way. What a party!
Succession Season 4, Episode 6 Recap: "Living+"
Episode 6 follows the launch of Waystar-Royco's latest venture, Living+, in hopeful favor of the company's stock price, post-Logan. What exactly is Living+? The new program promises the luxuries of the company's cruise ships brought on-land with one hook: "eternal life." Kendall awkwardly presents the wildly illogical business scheme to investors in L.A. with shockingly good reception, so to himself, he's chillin' – don't mind the insane (and illegal) stock price spike he decided was not illegal, just for funsies.
Roman, on the other hand, lights up in silent jealousy as his brother (and co-CEO) finds success. So naturally, the younger goes on a power-hungry, angry tirade in order to... prove something? Roman fires the head of Waystar's movie studios, and *gasp* Gerri, who claps back immediately, like the boss she is.
Shiv is reasonably setting aside time every day to cry – and honestly, same. She's dealing with the loss of her dad, two wacko older brothers (three, if you count Connor's omniscient presence), and some shady stuff with Lukas Matsson – ahem, his nasty tweet. Tom accidentally walks in on her alone time, and Shiv invites him to stay. Tom x Shiv fans get to feast their eyes on softer moments between to estranged lovers in episode 6 (finally!), even during that weird "let's play Bitey" scene. While the two are seemingly reconciling their relationship, Shiv's Shiv-ing around Matsson with a tone that's equally flirty and business-like. Strategic queen.

Real Succession stans know every word of this banger from Kendall. His father's return in season 4 episode 6 via deepfake video was a little bit of a different homage to Logan, but we loved it all the same.

Our Predictions for the Succession Season 4 Finale – Who will be the successor?
After this week's episode, only three weeks of Succession Sunday remain. Though lots has happened in the final season, we're still left pondering the great question of who will be successor?
We think Shiv's proved herself to be quite the asset to season 4's main deal with GoJo and Matsson. Her ability to be so seamlessly two-sided is a skill that's been beneficial, thus far. Plus, it's what Logan would do. She's infused a considerable amount of care in the balancing act between external and internal business conversations, and we fear that her power will only grow, now that Tom's not in the picture.
For the real answer, we'll just have to keep tuning in for Succession every week. Watch along on HBO Max!
