Here’s Everything You Need to Know About Tonight’s AMAs

The holidays are fast approaching, but if you’re not quiteeeee ready for Christmas movies on Netflix or the Hallmark channel and need a li’l break from meticulously working on your DIY gifts, ABC has you covered. What better way to kick back and relax than by enjoying tonight’s 44th annual American Music Awards (8pm/7c) ― the last awards show of the season! ― with a piping hot mug of boozy hot chocolate?

Taking over the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the ceremony is promising to be a HUGE star-studded affair, with supermodel Gigi Hadid (whose BF Zayn is nominated for New Artist of the Year) and SNL‘s Jay Pharoah taking over hosting duties. The duo may not seem like an obvious pairing at first, but as Jay recently told E!, “the vibe [Gigi] gives off, I think it’s going to be really fun.” He also dropped this teaser: “We ain’t holdin’ back, so buckle up and get ready!” Oh boy…

On the performance side of things, Ariana Grande with Nicki Minaj will undoubtedly deliver another mega steamy performance, while Bruno Mars is set to get everyone dancing with some 24K Magic and Lady Gaga (who was recently spotted protesting outside Trump Tower) will likely shock with a subdued performance from Joanne (fingers x’d for “Million Reasons!”). Justin Bieber (who hopefully won’t repeat his latest on-stage meltdown), Niall Horan (AKA Zayn’s former 1D bandmate ― drams!), John Legend, Twenty One Pilots, The Weeknd, The Chainsmokers with Halsey, Maroon 5 with Kendrick Lamar, Fifth Harmony and, believe it or not, more are also set to take to the stage.

And that’s not all! The presenters list is also seriously impressive, featuring everyone from Taraji P. Henson to Nina Dobrev, Ciara, Heidi Klum, Karlie Kloss, Chrissy Teigen, Zoe Saldana, Julianne Hough, Bella Thorne and maaaany more! Drake leads the pack this year with a stunning 13 nominations (which tops the 11 nom record set by Michael Jackson in 1984!!!), so no doubt we’ll be seeing a LOT of him tonight.

Starting at 6pm/5c, you’ll be able to watch all your fave celebrities walk the red carpet on E!, and as of 8pm/7c, the ceremony will kick off over on ABC. You’ll also be able to livestream the entire awards and follow along on AMA’s Twitter and Facebook pages, so no worries if you’re not near a TV!

Happy viewing!

If you're a 90s movies (and horror movies) lover, you might agree that nothing beats an old school slasher. I Know What You Did Last Summer, which stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Freddie Prinze Jr., premiered in 1997, combines everything we love about coming of age movies — friends, summer vacation, and drama — with just enough terror to send a chill down your spine. 1923 season 2 left fans pretty heartbroken when a certain favorite character died at the end of the finale. But even though the 1923 season 2 ending feels like saying goodbye to characters like Alex, Spencer, and Jacob, there's actually a good chance we'll see Spencer again, because a brand new show called 1944 is on its way.

Here's everything we know about Taylor Sheridan's 1944, coming to Paramount soon.

Is 1944 going to be a show?

Lo Smith/Paramount+

Yes, we're getting a new Yellowstone spinoff called 1944. The show will take place 21 years after 1923, and since Elsa (Isabel May) told us via voiceover that Spencer dies around 1969, there's a good chance we'll see Spencer Dutton again — as well as how the Dutton family operates during World War II.

Is there a release date for 1944?

Emerson Miller/Paramount+

We don't have a 1944 release date just yet, but based on the timeline for 1923, we could see it in early 2026. 1923 was announced in February of 2022, and the first episodes premiered on Paramount+ in December 2022. Stay tuned for the official date.

Who is playing Spencer Dutton in 1944?

Emerson Miller/Paramount+

Brandon Sklenar played Spencer Dutton in 1923, but there's a good chance we'll see a new actor bring the character into the '40s and beyond. However, if Taylor Sheridan wanted Brandon to return, he'd be more than willing. “Give me some gout, a little hunch and some salt and pepper,” the actor told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’ll gravel the voice up a bit. If it comes around, I’d love to do it. I really would. I definitely don’t want to say goodbye to Spencer. I love that guy.”

Is John Dutton related to Spencer Dutton?

Lauren Smith/Paramount+

The end of 1923 sees a whole new generation ushered into the show as Alex gives birth to a son before dying in the hospital, and we learn Elizabeth (Michelle Randolph) is pregnant. But technically, we still don't officially know who's the ancestor to Kevin Costner's John Dutton III.

“I guess we’ll have to wait for 1944," Brandon Sklenar told THR. "Hopefully, they’ll reveal that in the first episode, and we won’t have to wait an entire series for confirmation of who John Dutton III’s grandfather is.”

“Everyone is like, ‘Well surely you know what happens by the end.’ If someone says they do, they’re lying. I think Taylor [Sheridan] is keeping it secretive for a reason," Michelle added. “The fantasy in my head is that I’m still alive and could be in 1944 somehow; they do incredible prosthetics.

But Aminah Nieves, who plays Teonna Rainwater, also feels confident we'll see a new generation of Rainwaters in 1944. “She has to be pregnant. I definitely have thought about that, and I hope that it is Pete’s if she is,” she said in another interview with THR.

“I really hope [Teonna] does have a full life, because I’m so over having Native historical stories end so early and seeing these people not having full lives,” she continued. “There are so many Natives still out there. People of all BIPOC communities, even through adversity and struggle, they still have full lives. So I would love for Teonna to have a full life. I’ve dreamt of that for her.”

Where can I watch the series 1944?

Lauren Smith/ Paramount+

1944 will be available to stream on Paramount+.

How many episodes will 1944 have?

Trae Patton/Paramount+

Stay tuned for the full 1944 episode list, but considering 1923 had 8 episodes for both season 1 and 2, and 1883 had 10 episodes, it's safe to assume 1944 will have around 10 episodes.

After only two episodes of Only Murders in the Building season 4, Hulu renewed the series for season 5! I'm so excited that the show breaks a recent pattern of cancelling shows after the third or fourth season, giving us more time with our favorite characters, and I'm not the only one.

"Here we go again… my favorite set family. I’m coming home!" Selena Gomez says in an Instagram post, while the official Only Murders account made their own post, saying, "We had our lawyers call business affairs. Turned the 4 into a 5. #OnlyMurdersInTheBuilding is coming back for Season 5!!"

In addition to the show entering production, the one and only Renée Zellweger (Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy) just joined the cast. Iconic!

Here's everything you need to know about Only Murders in the Building season 5, coming to Hulu soon.

Who's in the Only Murders in the Building season 5 cast?

Eric McCandless/Disney

The Only Murders in the Building season 5 cast features all our favorites, and some new faces! According to Dan Fogelman, “we can expect more big guest stars that’ll probably be announced sooner rather than later,” he tells The Wrap.

"I am so grateful that I have been surrounded by human beings that make me better, challenge me, remind me day after day that every moment is a gift," Selena Gomez says about working with Steve Martin and Martin Short. "That’s my pure joy. I thank god for the era I’m in. It’s been the best yet."

The Only Murders season 5 cast includes:

  • Selena Gomez as Mabel Mora: a true crime lover who begins her own podcast after getting sucked into a murder mystery.
  • Martin Short as Oliver Putnam: a theatre director and founder of the Only Murders in the Building podcast.
  • Steve Martin as Charles Hayden Savage: an actor and true crime lover who begins the Only Murders podcast with Oliver and Mabel.
  • Téa Leoni as Sofia Caccimelio: a woman who approaches the podcast trio after her husband Nicky goes missing.
  • Renée Zellweger
  • Christoph Waltz
  • Keegan-Michael Key

What is Only Murders in the Building season 5 about?

Patrick Harbron/Disney

We finally got our first details about Only Murders season 5 — and we're going in a direction I totally didn't expect. When Sofia visits Mabel and Charles in the season 4 ending, and asks them to find her missing husband, she's disappointed when they turn her down. And since Téa Leoni just joined the season 5 cast, it looks like she's not taking no for an answer.

“I think she’s the great tease at the end of the finale and a little bit of an intriguing bump forward,” co-creator John Hoffman says in an interview with Deadline. “She’s an extension of the little news report in Episode 9 that Mabel makes note of at the hospital. [Sofia] is the wife of the Dry Cleaning King of Brooklyn, and maybe a couple of dry cleaning outlets in Manhattan, as well, we may come to know...It’s a world opened up potentially that we haven’t talked about too much yet in New York, so she holds a lot of intrigue.”

Patrick Harbron/Hulu

New York's underground is a wild space that we haven't really seen on Only Murders yet so I know we're in for one very interesting season — because if this show is going to go there, they're going to go there.

Executive producer Dan Fogelman told The Wrapwe can look forward to “another big fun mystery the writers have been cooking up," while Hoffman has gone on the record saying the new episodes will “hit on some very current things going on within New York, specifically very relevant things that are happening in the city right now.”

When is Only Murders in the Building season 5 coming out?

Patrick Harbron/Hulu

There's no Only Murders in the Building season 5 release date quite yet, but the show is in production! Considering we've had a new season over the last four years (with season 1 in 2021, season 2 in 2022, season 3 in 2023, and season 4 in 2024), we're expecting to see season 5 in 2025. Stay tuned for the official Only Murders season 5 release date.

How many episodes are there in Only Murders in the Building season 5?

Patrick Harbron/Hulu

Only Murders in the Building season 5 will have 10 episodes total on Hulu.

Welcome to May 2025 starlights! Get ready for an incredible month filled with magical opportunities and continued shifts. With the majority of planets direct, the only planet that stirs up the backspin dance is Pluto, the planet of transitions, which goes retrograde for the next six months. Note that outer planets take longer to be direct, but the best news is that May offers us breathing room to strengthen our plans and see them come to life. Also, Saturn, the planet of structure and discipline, changes into the sign of Aries. The last time Saturn was in Aries was in 1996! This event marks the reemergence of fiery and bold moves that will lead to successful outcomes in your story. Want to learn more about what is in store for your zodiac sign this May 2025? Read on and find out how you can find your spark this month.

It’s about to get real, so get ready to do some serious inner work. The transformation planet, Pluto, is retrograde beginning on May 4 and will backspin until October 13. As Pluto is in the sign of Aquarius, the sign that represents groups and long-term dreams, this retrograde period signals a time for you to observe your place most authentically. Retrogrades hold the space for you to pause and recalibrate; this is your time to analyze your inner self and how you align with the idea of change. What have you built so far that needs to be refined? This is your opportunity to go through a period of rest and observe your life's current workings. Pluto seeks to diminish what no longer aligns with your highest good. This would be a good time to face your shadow side (we all have it) and how you view power and control. This retrograde period allows you to observe the old patterns you have outgrown. You will attract more incredible opportunities and experiences as you lean into welcoming change.

Carla Beatriz

Our ideas will be more solid and pragmatic beginning on May 10 as the messenger planet, Mercury, enters earthy Taurus. Think about the “why” behind your decisions these next few weeks. Take your time and become more aligned with your intentions instead of just getting it done. Manifestation is especially potent around this time because of the earthy energy of the fixed sign of Taurus. With focused concentration and a dash of belief, you will go a long way with your dreams.

Not all Full Moons are created equal, and this one will bring up feelings involving control and discipline. This Full Moon in Scorpio on May 12 will be revelatory when you face the unresolved parts of your inner self. Scorpio's planetary ruler, Pluto retrograde, will help you face your past worries head-on and allow them to be resolved through surrender. Be receptive to breakthroughs as the Moon opposes earthy Uranus in Taurus. Powering through stagnation is by clearing out from drama involving push-pull dynamics and finally turning over a new leaf in your story. That’s not all, the Moon will also trine (very favorable) to watery Saturn and North Node in Pisces and this grants celestial support in this next stage. These trines offer strength and endurance if ever you feel hesitant about letting go. Remember that to manifest the life you want, you have to let go of what is weighing you down to attract something better.

Finally, we can breathe fresh air and new possibilities with the Sun entering Gemini on May 20. Our bodies will begin to feel lighter and more in tune with our mindset. Gemini rules the mind and how we generate our ideas. What you think is what you attract. If you feel unmotivated, inspiration flows when you tap into your inner playfulness and curiosity. Get lost in a book, join a dance class, or begin a new activity that challenges the mind. This will get you re-energized.

This is a game-changing moment. Saturn enters Aries on May 24, signaling a time to evaluate the structures behind your motivation. These last couple of years, when Saturn was in Pisces, it was not only about reviewing your place in the world, but it also extended lessons about how to let go of burdens involving the past. These next two and a half years will stir the fires of your soul to live up to your highest potential. Don’t hold back, as your ideas will begin to materialize through sound discipline and patience. We will also learn to be fiercely independent and selectively choose our battles instead of letting our anger burn bridges. Aries in Saturn will grant us concentrated focus to lay the framework of our plans and ground them into reality.

The wheels will keep turning, and there will be sparks! The messenger planet at home in the sign of Gemini on May 25 will give us lots to talk about. If you need to clear the air about something or must share your ideas, you have the green light, as this time will be more lighthearted and happier. Laugh off the past and acknowledge all unfolding these last several weeks as an experience—not punishment.

Happiness is truly an understatement of how the New Moon in Gemini will make us feel on May 26. In all the work you have done that involves letting go and growing, it will finally pay off. Manifestation will be fire, as the Moon in sextile with Saturn and Neptune in Aries will give you an extra boost in your self-esteem and inner belief. You will genuinely believe in your worthiness to receive everything you wish to achieve and make it happen. To top this off, the Moon trine with Pluto in retrograde will remind you of the lessons you learned but will give you that dash of energy to approach this next stage with integrity.

While everyone’s hunting down the next hot sneaker for the summer, French girls are already wearing them. Seriously, it feels like French girls don’t follow trends — they create them — and I couldn’t get enough of it while I was in Paris this spring. While I walked 30+ miles around the city (and shopped a lot), I couldn’t help but notice which sneakers real French girls sported in 2025...and they didn’t disappoint. Here’s the coolest sneaks I saw — and what I’m definitely adding to my cart ASAP!

Scroll to see which sneaker brands all the French girls wore in Paris!

Gola

Gola

Gola Classics Women's Cyclone Sneakers

Gola sneakers are definitely making waves in America, but their presence is way more dominant in Paris. I saw Gola displays at every mall and store I walked into — and they always looked SO cute. Each Gola display always had chic colors and silhouettes. I love this deep red color for summer, but if you're looking for something brighter, I'd try this gorgeous yellow pair!

Autry

Autry

Autry Baskets Medalist Platform En Cuir Blanc Et Platine Metallise'

Autry sneakers were everywhere in Paris. While they have plenty of slim styles that resemble popular Pumas and Adidas styles, I loved the chunkier silhouettes like these. I was devastated when they were out of my size in this metallic pair at Galleries Lafayette. But don't worry — I added them to my cart the second I landed back home!

Faguo

Faguo

Faguo White & Beige Low-Top Tennis Shoes

Faguo is a French brand I'm honestly mad I've never seen before. Not only do they have really cute sneakers, but they also have adorable clothes, too (my husband brought this one home). Really though, these sneakers were in so many chic boutiques and department stores. I'd definitely swap your worn out Stan Smiths for this stylish pair of Faguos!

Alohas

Alohas

Alohas Tb.490 Rife Sea Pink Leather Sneakers

I've seen Alohas here and there before, but it was clear they were major in Paris. This sustainable brand "only produces what you actually want to buy" in order to reduce waste. So that means they create limited stock that you can buy on-demand, otherwise you've got to pre-order your shoes. Love that!

Adidas

Adidas

Adidas Samba OG Shoes (Cream White/Violet Tone/Sand Strata)

So I saw these Adidas Sambas and bought them immediately...I couldn't help it! Sambas are obviously THE shoe of the decade, but this colorway just called out to me the moment I saw it. This style felt like a fresh, unique take on the very popular style that I just couldn't pass up. And while my very American self bought these, let it be known that the French girlies definitely still love their Sambas.

Vejas

Vejas

Vejas V-90 Leather White California

Vejas had their moment in the U.S. around 2018, but it's evident that they never stopped being cool in Paris. They're honestly the ultimate white sneaker with the perfect touch of color and personality. I love the suede accents on this pair — they honestly look almost denim-esque, which is perfect for all your summer vibes.
