The First Clip From "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" Features Old Favorites + A New Song

corbin bleu and monique coleman in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series season 4

We're all in this together, one final time. On June 21, Disney+ announced that High School Musical: The Musical: The Series would end with season four. While we're sad that this chapter at East High is coming to an end, we're very excited for one specific reason: the final installment will bring back some of our favorite characters from the original trilogy. Here's everything we know about the new season, including the opening number.

High School Reunion (HSMTMTS | Disney+)

Not only are Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Lucas Grabeel and Kaycee Stroh returning to their old stomping grounds but they're singing a new song too! Season 4 is starting off with a bang.

What is going to happen in HSMTMTS season 4?

After their summer camp experience at Camp Shallow Lake in season three, the characters begin prepping for a big production of High School Musical 3: Senior Year at East High. But they get more than they bargained for when it's announced that Disney is (finally) making High School Musical 4: The Reunion at the school.

What day is High School Musical 4 coming out?

All eight episodes of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series season four will drop on Disney+ August 9. I guess you can say that since the show contains the fourth High School Musical movie, it serves as both the final season of the show and the next movie in the franchise.

When did HSMTMTS Season 4 start filming?

Image via Disney/Fred Hayes

Filming for the new season began on September 20 of last year.

Will Big Red be in HSMTMTS season 4?

Yes, Larry Saperstein (who plays Big Red) will return for season four! Joshua Bassett, Sofia Wylie, Dara Reneé, Julia Lester, Frankie Rodriguez, Kate Reinders, Liamani Segura, Matt Cornett, Joe Serafini, Adrian Lyles, and Saylor Bell Curda are also coming back.

Which original High School Musical cast members will be in season 4?

Image via Disney/Fred Hayes

In addition to the TV show cast, we'll see Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Lucas Grabeel, Bart Johnson, Alyson Reed, and Kaycee Stroh return to the world of High School Musical. We can't wait!

Why is Olivia Rodrigo not in season 4 of HSMTMTS?

After the success of her first album Sour, Olivia Rodrigo became less involved with HSMTMTS over the years. Unfortunately, that means we won't see her in the final series. By the time the show drops, she'll likely be doing press for her new album Guts. But maybe she'll show up to the season premiere!

It's easy to understand why Yellowstone has captivated audiences for five whole seasons. The show is packed with intense drama, complex characters, and stunning landscapes.

Yellowstone is also home to plenty of powerful moments and memorable lines. Whether it's a gut punch of wisdom or a cutting remark, here are some of the show's most iconic quotes.

Scroll to see the most iconic Yellowstonequotes we can't get enough of!

"You're either born a willow or born an oak. That's all there is to it." – Lloyd Pierce

In Yellowstone, the harshness of ranch life shapes its inhabitants in unique ways. Here, Lloyd offers a candid observation about the nature of people, suggesting that some are inherently strong and resolute, like oaks, while others are more adaptable and pliable, like willows.

This quote underscores one of the central themes of the show: the tough world of ranching creates individuals who are either suited for the challenge or will be bent by it.

"The only thing I ask is that you outlive me so I never live another day without you." – Beth Dutton

Beth may be regarded as the toughest character in Yellowstone, but beneath her fierce exterior is a deep well of emotion, especially when it comes to Rip.

In one of the most poignant moments of the series, Beth revealed a side of herself that viewers don't often see: her vulnerability and intense love for Rip. For Beth, having him by her side is more than just about companionship. It's a source of strength and stability.

"You know, when you boil life down, it's funny just how little you need, isn't it?" – Rip Wheeler

This line perfectly encapsulates Rip's simple yet profound outlook on life. As a man deeply connected to the land, he values self-sufficiency and is content with the basics, a philosophy that aligns closely with the rugged Western lifestyle the Duttons defend.

In his eyes, all that truly matters is the ranch and his family. His humble nature and his unwavering loyalty make him a grounding force amidst the chaos of the show.

"The brand isn't something you earn; it's something you live up to." – John Dutton

The Yellowstone brand is not merely a symbol of belonging. As the quote shows, it's also a constant reminder of the responsibility and expectations that come with it.

When Jimmy is given the choice to accept the brand, he isn't just going to be marked as part of the ranch. John Dutton runs his operation with a strict code of loyalty and unquestioned obedience, and Jimmy is being offered an opportunity to prove himself and live a life defined by hard work and sacrifice.

"A man who puts a hand on a member of my family never puts a hand on anything else." – Jamie Dutton

Despite their conflicts and dysfunctions, the Duttons share an unbreakable bond when it comes to protecting their own. Jamie's line goes to show that, even with all their flaws, the Duttons will unite in retribution when one of their own is harmed.

What makes this quote particularly striking is that it comes from Jamie, who's like a black sheep in the family.

"When you fight for a thing, the thing doesn't care if you win or lose because the thing ain't alive. But when you fight for people, they care." – Kayce Dutton

This line delivered by Kayce underscores the difference between fighting for a cause and fighting for the people you love. He points out the contrast between fighting for material possessions, like the ranch, and the genuine connection and impact that comes from fighting for those you care about.

The quote reveals a key difference between him and his father, John Dutton. While John's primary focus is the ranch's preservation, Kayce is more concerned with his family's well-being.

"Learn to be meaner than evil and still love your family and enjoy a sunrise." – John Dutton

In a modern Western like Yellowstone, there are undeniable themes of survival, sacrifice, and loyalty to family. This quote by John reflects the harsh reality of the cowboy lifestyle.

Furthermore, he believes that while life may demand hard choices, it's still possible to find moments of beauty and joy and hold onto the love that makes life worth living. His advice isn't just about fighting evil but surviving in a world where evil is inevitable while preserving a sense of humanity.

"When the misery is bad enough, tomorrow is rarely factored into decisions." – Monica Dutton

Finally, it's no secret that Monica has faced an unthinkable amount of challenges in her life, from the trauma of Kayce killing her brother to dealing with systemic racism. This quote shows her belief that when life is filled with mystery, it becomes nearly impossible to think about the future because the present is all-consuming.

It speaks to the emotional weight of living in such a brutal environment and resonates with many of the characters on Yellowstone.

Missing Yellowstone? Us, too. Here's everything you need to know about Taylor Sheridan's epic Yellowstone universe, from 1923to Landman.

Um, we already knew that Dakota Johnson was starring as Lowen in Colleen Hoover's Verity (what a great casting choice!) but I totally wasn't expecting to open my phone and see a video of Dakota in the middle of New York City...covered in blood. It was even more shocking than seeing that crazy The Summer I Turned Pretty leak that's not in the books! And if this Verity movie leak proves anything, it's that this movie is going to be just as insane as the book — if not more.

Keep reading for a deep dive into that Verity set leak featuring Dakota Johnson, Josh Hartnett, and lots of blood.

Things get messy for Dakota Johnson in 'Verity.'

We got our first look at Dakota Johnson as Lowen when she walked around New York City in burnt orange trousers, a beige top, and a gray coat. But there's one accessory that low-key makes my stomach turn: a splatter of blood on her face.

But it's going to make for one great movie scene.

@mickmicknyc Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett filming a graphic accident scene for 'Verity' in NYC 🎬🙈 #dakotajohnson#joshhartnett#verity#bts#behindthescenes#entertainmentnews#nyc♬ original sound - New York Mickey

In this extended leak from @mickmicknyc on TikTok, Lowen's taking a stroll through Manhattan when a car accident with a biker covers her (and a few very-expressive extras) in blood. The movie nerd in me immediately clocked that the camera does a 360 around Dakota as she looks at the accident, and I LOVE a 360 so I'm excited to see this in the final movie! Especially if the composer gives us some incredible music!

We also see Josh Hartnett's Jeremy approach her and make sure she's okay before the leave the scene.

"This is exactly how I pictured it," says one TikTok user in the comments, while another adds, "I actually forgot this is how the book started with how crazy the rest of the book was."

"The way I just screamed ahhhh I’m so excitedddddddddd," a third user says. I cannot wait!

Stay tuned for even more Verity movie updates on Brit + Co and our TikTok!

Protein is essential for building muscle, staying energized, and feeling full, but it doesn’t have to come from the same ol’ boring grilled chicken and scrambled eggs. There are plenty of “underrated” sources of protein that pack a punch – from unexpected plant-based options to overlooked pantry staples. If you’re looking to bulk up your meals with protein while still getting the nutrients you need, these gems definitely deserve a spot on your plate.

Scroll on for 10 “underrated” sources of protein to add to your diet!

1. Quinoa

Quinoa is a complete protein, meaning it contains all nine essential amino acids. One cooked cup of quinoa carries about 8 grams of protein, so it’s an excellent choice for vegetarians and vegans alike! In favor of more common grains like rice or pasta, give quinoa a try for that extra protein-rich boost.

2. Cottage Cheese

Cottage cheese is packed with protein – but not just any protein. It’s surprisingly rich in casein protein, a slow-digesting protein that helps with muscle recovery and satisfying your hunger. A single cup can provide over 25 grams of protein! A lot of people tend to avoid it due to its unique texture, but cottage cheese is actually incredibly versatile for smoothies, toasts, or eaten with fruit.

3. Tempeh

Tempeh, a block made from fermented soybeans, contains about 21 grams of protein per 100 grams. It also gives you those nice probiotics and fiber, which contribute to a healthy gut! It can be quite similar to tofu at times, though it has a firmer texture and a nuttier flavor.

4. Greek Yogurt

If you’re not eating Greek yogurt, you’re totally missing out! Greek yogurt has nearly double the protein of regular yogurt, with around 17 grams per serving – though you can buy some varieties with more. Greek yogurt also supplies lots of probiotics and calcium for gut and bone health. Eat it as a breakfast, add it to salad dressings, or even chicken marinades for added protein!

5. Lentils

Lentils have around 18 grams of protein per cooked cup, along with beneficial fiber and iron. They’re also a great budget-friendly option, are shelf-stable, and can easily be added to soups, stews, and salads. Add some lentils to your chickpea or black bean rotation, and you’re golden!

Nano Erdozain / PEXELS

6. Black Beans

Black beans are where it’s at! Black beans contain about 15 grams of protein per cooked cup, along with plenty of fiber that helps with digestion and controlling your blood sugar. Many people associate beans with carbs rather than protein, so they don’t always recognize them as a great plant-based protein source!

7. Seitan

Seitan (AKA wheat gluten) carries around 21 grams of protein per 100 grams. It’s very comparable to meat, though it’s fully plant-based. Its meat-like texture makes it a great substitute for both vegetarians and vegans. Add it to sandwiches, tacos, pastas, and more to bulk up your protein game.

Spencer Davis / PEXELS

8. Edamame

Edamame makes a wonderful high-protein snack, weighing in at about 17 grams of protein per cooked cup. Edamame, like quinoa, is also a complete protein, so it’s packed with the essential amino acids.

Taryn Elliott / PEXELS

9. Nutritional Yeast

Nutritional yeast is another tasty complete protein with about 8 grams of protein per 2 tablespoons. It’s also very rich in B12, which is essential for vegans who may not get enough. It has a totally underrated cheesy, umami flavor, but many people are unfamiliar with it or unsure how to use it. We suggest sprinkling it on popcorn, pastas, or soups!

Eiliv Aceron / PEXELS

10. Chia Seeds

Chia seeds contain about 5 grams of protein per 2 tablespoons and are loaded up with omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, and antioxidants. When soaked in water or milk, they form a gel-like texture that works well in puddings, smoothies, and oatmeal. Many people think of them as just a fiber source rather than a protein source, even though they offer a solid protein boost in a considerably small dosage!

Zura Modebadze

Evangeline is Greek in origin and derived from the words "eu" and "angelma," meaning "good news" or "good tidings."

This name has gained popularity in the U.S. because it carries a sense of hope and prosperity, making it a wonderful choice for parents welcoming a little girl.

2. Felix

Yan Krukau

With Latin roots, Felix is a timeless baby boy name that means "happy" and "fortunate." If you want to bless your child with a life full of joy, this name definitely conveys positivity and good fortune.

Felix also dates back to the 1st century BC and has ties to the New Testament, as well as several popes. It remains a popular pick in North America, South America, and Africa.

3. Gwyneth

Anna Bondarenko

The name Gwyneth is Welsh in origin and derived from the word "gwynaeth," which means "happiness." It embodies cheerfulness, and "Gwynnie" can even be used as a cute nickname.

It's no secret that actress Gwyneth Paltrow has popularized this name, but it also carries a bit of fantasy, thanks to characters like the priestess Gwyneth Berdara in the beloved book series "A Court of Thorns and Roses."

4. Merritt

Карина Суховерхая

When spelled a bit differently as "Merit," this baby name of Latin origin holds multiple meanings, including "valuable," "worthy," and "deserving of praise." Otherwise, "Merritt," which is British, actually means "boundary gate."

Holly Landkammer

While Asher, a name with religious ties, has traditionally been given to boys, it's growing in favoritism as a girl's name as well.

In the Hebrew Bible, Asher is the eighth son of Jacob and the founder of one of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. Jacob blessed Asher before his death, and Moses said, "May Asher be blessed above other sons."

That's why this name is often said to mean "happy" and "blessed." It's a lucky choice that's particularly popular among Jewish families.
