There is nothing in the world that pizza can’t make better. It’s basically the quintessential wing man to all your relationships. But when cookies get involved… well, that’s on a new level of BFF-dom! Dessert pizza is the quintessential indulgence: It’s sweet, warm and delicious. Cookie pizza is great on its own, but it’s even better when you bring Nutella and bananas into the game. That’s right. This sweet pizza is stuffed with our favorite hazelnut spread, while the bananas are there to keep it somewhat healthy. (Was that convincing?) If you’ve always wanted to jump on this dessert train, but didn’t really know how, now you have no excuse not to!
Ingredients:
– 2 eggs
– 1/2 cup butter (softened)
– 1/4 cup chocolate chunks
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
– 1/2 cup brown sugar
– 1 cup flour
– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1 banana
– 1/4 cup Nutella (or other hazelnut spread)
– optional: vanilla ice cream (1 scoop for each slice)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Melt Nutella over a stovetop in a heat-proof dish over boiling water (essentially, a double boiler). Or you can microwave for a few seconds until it softens.
3. In a bowl, combine butter and sugars. Blend with a mixer until the mixture becomes soft and creamy.
4. Add vanilla and eggs (1 at a time) and mix together.
5. In a separate dish, combine the flour, baking soda and salt. Whisk the dry ingredients together and then pour them into the wet ingredients. Mix with a blender until completely combined.
6. After everything is mixed together, lightly fold in chocolate chunks.
7. In a lightly oiled skillet, layer half the cookie dough in the skillet.
8. Pour the melted Nutella over the cookie dough and lightly spread it around, leaving some space around the edges.
9. Add slices of banana in the center.
10. Layer the rest of the cookie dough over the bananas and Nutella.
11. Sprinkle more chocolate chunks on top.
12. Place in the oven for 25 – 30 minutes or until golden brown on top.
13. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
14. Add vanilla ice cream and sprinkle chocolate chunks on top.
