Kylie Jenner & Jordyn Woods Just Reunited — Here's What To Look For When Rekindling A Friendship

Jordyn Woods and Kylie Jenner at SECNDNTURE launch

It's worth noting that it feels like society has barely scratched the surface of learning how to deal with friendshipbreakups. Our friends are the people we've shared memorable moments with, have given us a shoulder — or two — to cry on, and loved us through all the bad haircuts and outfit choices. So when we fall out with them, it feels like everything's gone to sh*t. Just ask Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods.

After the Tristan Thompson/Jordyn cheating scandal, the pair became the poster girls of unbalanced friendships. But now that they've been spotted together for the first time in four years, people are wondering when it's worth rekindling a friendship. We spoke with friendship expert and TikTok's resident friendship coach Danielle Bayard Jackson of Bumble For Friends (BFF) to learn more.

What are some things that can cause rifts in friendships?

Any relationship, platonic or romantic, can experience challenges at times. After all, we're human and humans can be messy. But that's not to say repetitive negative behavior can — or should — be overlooked. In fact, according to recent Bumble For Friends research, a majority (59%)* of Gen-Z respondents have lost at least three or more friends in the last year alone.

Danielle said one-side friendships, a lack of support, feeling negative after spending time with someone, and lack of respect for boundaries can cause tension to build. What does that mean, though?

One-Sided Friendships

You know that friend who only reaches out when they need something, be it physical or psychological? And when you bring up what's going on in your life, they still manage to make it all about themselves? It's like you're constantly putting in all the effort to make plans, be there for them, and beyond? That's a one-sided friendship. Danielle said, "We know responsibilities grow the older we get — whether it's a new job in a new city or a growing family — but if you you're the only one that seems to be invested in the friendship, it can cause a temporary rift."

Lack Of Support

There are several situations that can occur where friends will need each other's support — and I don't necessarily mean financially. From bad breakups to family drama, sometimes friends need a supportive shoulder to lean or cry on. Danielle believes the best friendships involve mutual support. If this isn't happening, she said, "When you aren't receiving the same support you give, it can be discouraging and tiresome."

Feeling Drained After Hanging Out

We've all had a former friend that's left us feeling depleted after spending time with them, but couldn't figure out why. Danielle wants you to know that shouldn't be happening. "Friendships should be additive to one's life, and shouldn't inspire feelings of stress or anxiety. If you find yourself feeling this way, it might be time to take a break and reevaluate the friendship," she said.

Boundaries Aren't Respected

Take it from me — you and your friends should set boundaries with each other if you haven't already. I think things could've gone differently had I done this with a former friend before choosing to walk away. Without boundaries, someone's feelings are bound to get hurt, and no amount of "I thought we could brush it off" conversations can help.

If you have set boundaries with your friend and they're not respecting them — or vice versa — Danielle said, "It might be time for some space from this person. You shouldn't be sacrificing the things you need to feel comfortable in a friendship."

Is genuine reconciliation possible after a friendship breakup?

Image via Elina Fairytale/Pexels

Danielle and I both agree that genuine reconciliation can occur. This doesn't mean you should immediately offer an olive branch to a friend you've stopped talking to, but it's at least an indication that anything is possible. She recommends you ask yourself the following questions about what caused your rift, and if rekindling your friendship is the right choice:

  1. Is this a conflict that you're willing to compromise on?
  2. Do these conflicts happen more often than not?
  3. Do the conflicts become more hurtful over time?
  4. Do the benefits of the friendship to your mental health and happiness outweigh these conflicts?

If you feel you have positive answers, Danielle said to "make sure you're checking in with yourself throughout the process and once the friendship has been reestablished." The work to maintain the friendship will be ongoing and she wants you to "be honest with yourself about how the friendship is serving you both once you reconcile."

What are green flags to look out for when rekindling a friendship?

Before we talk about red flags, there are some green flags that can help lead you in the right direction when rekindling a friendship.

Honest communication

Being able to be honest and open about what happened in your friendship is vital. Danielle said, "If you and your friend are both able to acknowledge what went wrong in the friendship and the roles you played in a factual and respectful manner, this is a good sign."

Forward thinking conversations

It's good to have conversations about what happened in the past, but it's also okay to focus on your new friendship chapter. "While the conflict shouldn't be completely forgotten, focusing on the ways your friendship can be more positive and productive than before is a green flag to look out for," Danielle said.

She also said, "If your interactions with this person feel different – and better – than they did before, this is a sign that you’ve had enough time and space to rebuild your relationship."

What are red flags to look out for when rekindling a friendship?

Not noticing the green flags? It may be wise to be aware of red ones instead. When conflict between you and friend hasn't been resolved, and you can't agree on why you want to reconcile, it may be time to let the friendship go altogether.

"If your conversations are still focused on the details of what happened between you and assigning blame, it's possible that you and your friend have not yet had enough space from the even to process and discuss it factually," Danielle said. Although instant gratification is real, matters of the heart are delicate and require more time to heal.

She also said, "It’s rare to find a friendship that lasts a lifetime, but according to a Bumble For Friends survey, 40%* of respondents believe that the mark of a successful friendship is one that is long lasting. With this in mind, it’s easy to understand why we often find ourselves hanging onto friends that we’ve had in our lives for a long time for no reason other than longevity."

I used to think like this but longevity doesn't always mean healthy communication and boundaries are in place. Sometimes you and a friend outgrow each other — and that's okay. Reconciliation shouldn't be forced and if nothing feels different, it's honestly not worth it.

What do you think about Kylie and Jordyn's apparent reconciliation? Would you ever consider rekindling a friendship with someone you don't have a friendship with anymore? Let us know in the comments!

After spending decades in the entertainment industry, some celebs like Pamela Anderson have opted for a makeup-free look. No one can forget when she stunned photographers right before Paris Fashion Week's Vivienne Westwood show last year by rocking a bare face. She told Vogue France, she wasn't thinking about not "wearing any makeup." However, she didn't want to "compete with the clothes" she was wearing. She felt "freedom" from not trying to "be the prettiest girl in the room" which speaks volumes to us!

Now, Pamela continues to embrace the no-makeup life — and not only does she look gorgeous, but she seems SO happy! The star shared recently how this lifestyle change impacts her day-to-day, and it's honestly incredibly relatable. Here's what she had to say!

Here's what Pamela Anderson just said about adopting a no-makeup life!

1. It saves her a lot of time.

Pamela Anderson stopped by the Live with Kelly and Markshow to talk about filming The Last Showgirl, her childhood, and how not wearing makeup has been beneficial for her. While her makeup-free clip from the episode isn't available on YouTube, PEOPLE reports hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos asking her how her decision has changed her life.

Ripa started with, "You don't travel with a glam squad. How liberating is that for you," while Consuelos followed with, "And how much time have you gotten back?"

The former Baywatch star said she's "saved a lot of time" and admitted that her sons "used to say that I spent half my life in a makeup chair."

2. She feels more focused in general.

Pamela Anderson also admitted things feel easier for her in general. "I feel like I could focus better when I did the film, too." And her life outside of that? She said she's "gotten out of wearing makeup and it's been fun."

It's interesting because Kelly Ripa shared she's been inspired by Pamela Anderson's makeup-free choice. She remembers not wearing makeup for a short while and said to herself, "'Pamela Anderson is a genius." Kelly even thought for a moment, "This is the way to live." We're so here for it!

3. She lives for a glam moment, but appreciates simplicity now.

Pamela's all for being makeup-free now, but she's not bashing glam moments. She actually "loved it" because "it's fun when you're new in the business and you get all this attention." She's just at a point where she's "done that" and wants to "simplify and keep it low key."

She really does "love being elegant, sophisticated" but has found what "works best" for her.

After almost 17 years of marriage, Jessica Alba just officially split from her husband, Cash Warren. TMZ reported that the actress and film producer have been separated for a while now, and this article seems to make everything even more official. Here's everything we know so far about the breakup — including how long it seems like the pair's actually been split up.

Here's everything we know about Jessica Alba's split from husband, Cash Warren.

On January 8, 2025, sources spilled to TMZ about Jessica Alba and Cash Warren's separation. The sources shared that the couple is allegedly "moving forward" with a divorce, so unfortunately it doesn't seem like this split is a short-term solution.

TMZreported that both Jessica and have gone in public without wedding rings recently — Jessica as recent as the Golden Globes afterparties on January 5, 2025. Apparently, one of the last times the two were spotted publicly was back in November 2024. Outside of that, the couple celebrated their son's birthday at Universal Studios together in January, but it's unclear how official the separation was at that point.

According to PEOPLE, Jessica and Cash got engaged in 2007, after meeting on the set of Fantastic Four back in 2004. They got married and stayed together for 16 years, welcoming three children to their family: Honor (16), Haven (13), and Hayes (7).

Back in 2021, Alba told PEOPLE that they tend to "over-communicate" in order to best support each other and their different needs. She said that they don't have a "secret" to making it work — they "just need to check in with each other."

Whatever happens next, we hope that Jessica, Cash, and their kids are able to find peace and happiness throughout this major transition.

Now widely regarded as one of Hollywood’s most optimistic and compassionate figures due to her recent career shift as a talk show host, Drew Barrymore is also a veteran actress who’s made her mark behind the camera. Above all else, she’s truly iconic, at just 49 years young, she’s achieved more than most do in a lifetime.

From being catapulted to global fame at the age of 4 to becoming one of the most recognizable movie stars in the world, Barrymore has had a career that’s nothing short of extraordinary. It’s safe to say Barrymore has solidified her spot in Hollywood and continues to be an influential figure. Now for the fun part — with a lengthy resume chalk full of incredible films, you may be wondering where to start.

So, to make it easier, here’s a list of the Drew Barrymore movies everyone should see in their lifetime.

1. E.T.

Universal Pictures

This remains one of Barrymore’s most iconic roles, and at 6 years old no less. Stephen Spielberg’s E.T. continues to be regarded as one of the greatest films ever made since its release in 1982, and comes in with a 7.9 out of 10 on IMDb and a whopping 99 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s no wonder why as the film beautifully portrays two children befriending an alien and keeping his existence a secret to protect him. If you want to cry, this is a must-see. If you don’t, well, you still have to watch this, just have the tissues ready. Not to mention, 6-year-old Drew Barrymore is so cute in this.

2. Ever After

20th Century Fox

A retelling of the fairytale Cinderella with Drew Barrymore? Say less. There have been a handful of Cinderella adaptations, to say the least, but this may be one of the best, and Barrymore is to thank for that. Her effervescent innocence shines through in this role and she offers a wit and independence that was not seen in preceding versions – Barrymore’s Cinderella is resourceful and isn’t the archetypal damsel in distress, which is why this is a refreshing must-watch. Plus, its 7.1 out of 10 score on IMDb and 91 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

3. Scream

Dimension Films/Paramount

Yes, I know Barrymore is only in Scream for all of 10 minutes, but in my humble opinion, it may be the best 10 minutes of the film. Her incredible performance and blood-curdling scream open the film, and thrust you into the most prolific horror film franchise of our time. So yeah, I think this deserves a spot on the list. And even though it's rated 7.4 out of 10 on IMDb and 77 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, it's arguably one of Barrymore's most iconic moments ever.

4. Donnie Darko

Newmarket Films

This thought-provoking, and might I add haunting, film has still been top of mind for me since my first watch. While Barrymore’s screen time is certainly limited in Donnie Darko, there’s no questioning the impact her role and character offered the film. Her character, high-school teacher Karen Pomeroy, is a relatable anchor in a film that is otherwise unsettling. And that, friends, should be enough reasoning to get you to watch this movie. Plus its 8 out of 10 on IMDb and 87 percent Rotten Tomatoes score.

5. Whip It

Searchlight Pictures

It’s only fitting Whip It follows a performance like Ever After – two very different settings, yet two very similar roles for Barrymore in that she plays a strong, independent woman in both. Even more so, Barrymore not only starred and directed this film, she co-wrote the screenplay as well. What can’t she do?! I love this movie (about a roller derby league) so much that it ~magically~ appears on my TV screen every year. It comes in with a 6.9 out of 10 IMDb rating and a 86 percent RT rating.

6. Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind

Miramax

If anyone ever needed proof that Barrymore has range — I don’t know who would, but that’s beside the point — I’d show them George Clooney’s directorial debut Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind. Barrymore plays a supporting role that seemingly morphs into one of her most memorable as she plays the typical supporting woman alongside Sam Rockwell’s game show host & undercover assassin. Because what man can simply exist without a woman behind him? The movie has a 7 out of 10 IMDb rating and a 79 percent Rotten Tomatoes score.

7. The Wedding Singer

New Line Cinema

I didn’t mean to intentionally put two Adam Sandler movies on this list, but here we are. What can I say? The Barrymore and Sandler duo cannot be stopped! It’s another early 2000s film (that decade has the best rom-coms, and I won’t debate this fact), where Barrymore and Sandler slowly fall in love…despite the fact she’s engaged to someone else. What’s not to love? The movie has a 6.9 on IMDb and 72 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

8. Never Been Kissed

20th Century Pictures

If She’s All That and Mean Girls had a movie child together, (with maybe a hint of step-parenting from 21 Jump Street) it would be Never Been Kissed. This movie (which as a 6 out of 10 on IMDb and only 55 percent on RT) is quintessential early 20's Barrymore entering her rom-com phase, and for that, I’m forever thankful. Barrymore stars as an undercover journalist who breaks into the most popular clique at school…and then falls for her English teacher.

9. Charlie's Angels

Columbia Pictures

I remember my first time watching Charlie’s Angels – it’s one of those films everyone’s dad calls a classic – and after watching it, I thought ‘dang, rightfully so.’ Beneath all of the visible hairspray, sexy innuendos, and revealing outfits, this film is really about strong female relationships and camaraderie. If anything, it’s a fun time filled with action and drama, and, I hate to admit it, it’s a classic (despite the fact it has a 5.6 out of 10 IMDb rating and a 68 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Don't even get me started on the 45 percent audience score!).

10. 50 First Dates

Columbia Pictures

It’s no secret that Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler have insane screen chemistry, and this movie proves it. 50 First Dates is a witty romance that Barrymore shines in. She portrays a woman who has amnesia after an accident, meaning she basically relives the same day over and over. Her portrayal is truly unforgettable and she commands the screen — sorry Adam. The movie scored a 6.8 out of 10 on IMDb but somehow only got a 45 percent on Rotten Tomatoes!
