Bestie Bloggers Britt and Whit Show Us 2 Ways to Style a Scarf for Winter

Scarves are really the ultimate cold-weather accessory. Whether you’re combating a brisk breeze or a full-on blizzard, the right scarf can elevate your bundled-up look instantly, especially when you know a few tricks for how to make your go-to warming wrap stay in stylish place.

For our first December style hack, we’re showing you our favorite ways to style two standby scarves: A cozy blanket scarf and a chic pashmina. Plus, of course, the outfit inspiration to match.

How to Style a Blanket Scarf

Britt: I’m a fan of almost any type of scarf, but the one I’ve been wearing non-stop recently is the blanket scarf — I love that it’s comfy, but also a bold statement piece. Since a blanket scarf is a LOT of fabric, I typically make it the focal point of my outfit and keep the rest of the pieces neutral so that my overall look isn’t too busy (yes, silver sneakers count as a neutral!).

Don’t try to tuck this big guy in — no one wants that lumpy shoulders look. Instead, think of this scarf as the ultimate winter jacket topper. That means stay away from pairing it with coats with large collars — there’ll just be too much bulk. Instead, toss this on top of your shearling-lined moto jacket or buttoned-to-the-brim peacoat.

#StyleHack: To get the most effortless look out of your blanket scarf, fold it in half so that it forms a triangle before tying it around your neck — think of it like an oversized bandana. This keeps it from looking like you are being swallowed up by the material and makes it more manageable to style while still protecting your neck.

How to Style a Pashmina Scarf

Whit: I *love* pashmina scarves — I have them in almost every color! They come in handy especially in San Francisco where weather can be quite windy and tends to feel like fall almost year round, but they’re also clutch in colder climates. They’re lightweight, breathable and able to really wrap up around your neck without feeling suffocating. But my favorite thing about pashminas? That pop of color. I added this bright blue scarf to my monochromatic white look to brighten up my outfit, which was the easiest way to take this neutral look to the next level.

Here, I folded the scarf in half, pulled it around the back of my neck and then pulled the ends through to create an adjustable loop. I like to wear it tucked into my wool jacket when I’m headed outside, but you can also use it as an easy way to polish an oversized sweater or make a tee feel more cozy.

#Style Hack: To avoid getting overheated when you head indoors, transfer your scarf to your bag! Use the same technique I mentioned above around the handles of your bag to turn it into a chic, unexpected accessory.

As we trade in our bikinis and Birkenstocks for boots and beanies, we welcome the best time of year: autumn. Arguably, it's the coziest time of year (I don't want to hear anything about winter; it's too cold), and the fashion is unmatched. You're in that sweet spot when it's warm enough to still rock a skirt and a tank, but you can add a cool racer jacket and accessorize with a scarf. You can also experiment with layering without having to cover your entire outfit with a coat. Amazon has some great deals to welcome fall because summer is SO last season.

Amazon

Anne Klein Women's Amerie Ballet Flat

Please, let's not let the Mary Jane trend die out with summer. In the early fall, when it's still warm, these are the best everyday shoes to run around in. I especially think this ribbed design reminds me of a cozy sweater, so they would complement a fall fit perfectly. There is an AMAZING limited-time deal on these flats that you cannot pass up right now! Grab these flats in denim, navy, black, or red for $62 (was $79).

Amazon

Steve Madden Women's Sienna Denim Jacket

I am so mad at myself for getting rid of my denim jacket last year because, obviously, here I am wanting another one for the upcoming months. To me, a denim jacket is like your childhood friend: they are so loyal and will always be there for you, even if you may not be in constant contact. I love a loose-fitting, slouchy jacket like this one from Steve Madden that you can get on Amazon now for $65 (was $99).

Amazon

Vince Camuto Women's Reilly Sneaker

Don't pass up on these adorable Vince Camuto sneaks! I think the khaki and the ruffles make for a slightly dressier shoe than any normal sneaker. They have a bit of a platform to give you some height as well, if that's what you're looking for, and a cushy sole for extra comfort. They come in three different patterns and colors for $88 (was $79)!

Amazon

Levi's Women's Laydown Collar Racer Jacket

I absolutely need to have this sleek racer jacket for my fall collection. Jackets are my favorite clothing item because they can elevate any outfit to a whole other level. They are fashionable and functional at the same time. This Levi's jacket is like your basic leather jacket's mature older sister. It's so crisp and clean, and it's on sale at Amazon right now. Add this to your cart for $80 (was $98).

Amazon

The Drop Women's Bliss Two-Tone Ribbed Scarf

No fall fit can be complete without a scarf. Not only are they the best accessories, but they're also the most functional piece of clothing for keeping you warm, blocking the wind, and keeping you dry. It can do it all. Having a quality scarf is such a simple luxury that you can take with you everywhere. I love having different colored scarves to match every kind of outfit imaginable, just like this lavender two-toned scarf that you can get for $22 (was $30).

Amazon

LILLUSORY Wide Leg Dress Pants

Trousers are an absolute must in the fall! They elevate your look in an instant, taking a graphic tee to a new level. While a classic black pair are always necessary, these pants come in 16 total colors! Plus, this statement button is so cute — definitely adds a lot with just a little! You can grab these for $29 (was $36).

Amazon

Champion Women's Sweatpants

Nothing beats a good pair of sweatpants to slip into at the end of a chilly day. The temperature is cooling down, so we're ditching the shorts. Champion never does me wrong in the sweat pant department; the material is always soft and lasts for years. If you want a baggy, oversized look, be sure to size up a bit! Grab them now while they're on sale for only $38 (was $50).

Amazon

MEROKEETY Women's Fall Long Sleeve Cable Knit Sweater

Cardigans are total perfection in the fall, especially when it's cable knit! I mean, any good fall capsule wardrobe would have one, TBH. You have 20 color options with this classic cardi. Add it to your cart for $29 (was $58)!

Amazon

Joe's Jeans Women's The Milla Utility Wide Leg Cropped Denim Pant

We’re going to have to start slipping back into some pants soon enough... so let’s start with these super adorable wide-leg cargos! Earthy tones are perfect for the fall season, and I especially love how these are styled with the light brown Adidas Sambas. These are working pants that are also made to be high fashion. You can grab them at a great deal right now for $106 (was $198).

Amazon

Steve Madden Women's Regular Justine Blazer

Woohoo, wool! I can’t think of a better time to incorporate a classic blazer into your everyday looks than now. This piece from Steve Madden gives off the same energy as the classic Chanel blazers but at a fraction of the price. It’s classy and never going out of style. If you prefer an oversized look, don’t be afraid to size up! You can get one now for $73 (was $119).

Amazon

SaphiRose Women's Long Hooded Rain Jacket

While crisp fall days for wandering around the park and looking at the leaves are always the best, sometimes you can't help but get caught in the rain. This rain jacket is so sleek and so cute and so versatile — it'll definitely go with any outfit you wanna keep dry! You can grab this in six other colors — including a classic yellow option that's so fun — for $46 (was $60).

Amazon

Sam Edelman Women's Elfie Mid Calf Boot

Prioritize foot comfort always, especially when it gets chilly out. Fall footwear is the most diverse, in my opinion, giving you room to wear a wide range of shoe styles. I love a fuzzy boot, especially as we approach late November and early December. These Sam Edelman boots are the perfect synthetic fuzzy option to keep your feet warm this fall for $105 (was $200).

Amazon

Anne Klein Women's Bracelet Watch

When we think about fall fashion, we can't forget to add some fun new accessories. I rarely wear nice jewelry in the summer because I’m always in and out of the water, and I’m afraid of losing or ruining something. But once fall rolls around, I love getting back to a consistent jewelry stack and routine. I like to start with a good watch — having a nice, solid watch (that doesn’t have to be thousands of dollars or a family heirloom) can elevate any look. Just like this one from Anne Klein for $52 (was $65).

Amazon

isotoner Women's Fiona Clog Slipper

Ugh, I simply cannot wait for it to get colder so I can be all snuggled up in the comfort of my home. I wear slippers year-round because my feet are always cold, but I love treating myself to a new pair. There’s no better time than a new season to revamp your indoor footwear and treat yourself to some new slippers, especially while they’re on sale for $15 (was $40).

I might not have wanted to be a doctor growing up, but man oh man do I enjoy watching a medical drama. Something about the literal life-or-death stakes in the operating room makes the personal stakes feel even juicier, and thanks to shows like Doctor Odyssey and Grey's Anatomy, it's never been a better time to be a medical drama fan. Here are some of the best medical TV shows to give you the chance to scrub in — and where to stream them.

Doctor Odyssey — On ABC/Hulu

Tina Thorpe/Disney

Max might live on a luxury cruise ship, but life is not a vacation (even if the crew really knows how to party). Working as the ship's doctor means constantly facing unexpected medical (and relational) issues. And while that already sounds complicated, being miles off shore doesn't help.

Doctor Odyssey stars Joshua Jackson, Don Johnson, Callum Swan, Emma Churms, and Stuart Clark.

Grey's Anatomy — On ABC/Hulu

Anne Marie Fox/Disney

You'd think by now we'd know what to expect from a day at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, but Grey's Anatomy season 21 has PLENTY of surprises in store. I'm still reeling from Mika's sister undergoing cancer treatment and potential fertility-saving treatment.

Grey's Anatomy season 21 stars Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Kevin McKidd, and Camilla Luddington.

Transplant — On Peacock

CTV/NBC

This can't-miss show follows Syrian doctor Bashir "Bash" Hamed, who takes refuge in Canada during the Syrian Civil War and rebuilds his career at Toronto's York Memorial Hospital.

Transplant stars Hamza Haq, Laurence Leboeuf, Ayisha Issa, Jim Watson, and Sirena Gulamgaus.

Chicago Med — On NBC And Peacock

George Burns Jr./NBC

Dick Wolf's NBC medical drama provides the staff of Gaffney Medical with plenty of challenges — both inside the emergency department and out.

Chicago Med stars S. Epatha Merkerson, Oliver Platt, Marlyne Barrett, Jessy Schram, and Luke Mitchell.

Saving Hope — On Hulu

Ken Woroner/NBCUniversal

Dr. Alex Reid already has a lot on her mind as a doctor at Hope Zion. But when a car accident leaves her fiancé Dr. Charles Harris in a coma (while on the way to their wedding no less), Alex has to balance her patients with the hope that he'll make it out okay.

Saving Hope stars Erica Durance, Michael Shanks, Erica Durance, Michael Shanks, Daniel Gillies, Huse Madhavji, Julia Taylor Ross, Kristopher Turner, Wendy Crewson, and Benjamin Ayres.

New Amsterdam — On Netflix And Peacock

NBC

Upholding tradition while also embracing the new is something we've all probably faced at one point or another, and that includes this medical drama. When Dr. Max Goodwin becomes the director at one of the oldest hospitals in the country, he's determined to change it for the better.

New Amsterdam stars Ryan Eggold, Freema Agyeman, and Janet Montgomery.

SkyMed — On Paramount+

Pief Weyman/Paramount+

Saving lives in a hospital? Incredible. Saving lives in a plane? Miraculous. This medical drama TV show follows the nurses and pilots flying air ambulances through Northern Canada, which is a concept I don't think I'll ever wrap my head around.

SkyMed stars Natasha Calis, Ace “Aason” Nadjiwon, Morgan Holmstrom, Praneet Akilla, Thomas Elms, Mercedes Morris, Kheon Clarke, and Braeden Clarke.

Dr. Death — On Peacock

Sophie Kohler/Peacock

Mandy Moore stars in this medical drama TV show, which follows a doctor who cares more about his ego than his patients — and causes more harm than good.

Dr. Death stars Joshua Jackson, Grace Gummer, Christian Slater, Alec Baldwin, AnnaSophia Robb, Édgar Ramírez, Mandy Moore, Ashley Madekwe, Gustaf Hammarsten, and Luke Kirby.

The Resident — On Netflix And Hulu

Fox

Gilmore Girls fans will want to tune into this one because Matt Czuchry (Logan) stars as the lead! And dang he looks good in scrubs. This medical drama follows the staff at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, treating their patients while also peeking past the curtain into the healthcare industry. But don't worry, there's plenty of relationship drama, too ;).

The Resident stars Matt Czuchry, Emily VanCamp, Manish Dayal, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Bruce Greenwood, Merrin Dungey, Melina Kanakaredes, Moran Atias, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, and Andrew McCarthy.

House — On AppleTV+, Hulu, Prime Video, And Peacock

Fox

The successful and unconventional Dr. House leads a team of diagnosticians at New Jersey's Princeton–Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in this loose take on Dr. Holmes.

House stars Hugh Laurie, Lisa Edelstein, Omar Epps, Robert Sean Leonard, Jennifer Morrison, Jesse Spencer, Peter Jacobson, Kal Penn, Olivia Wilde, Amber Tamblyn, Odette Annable, and Charlyne Yi.

The Good Doctor — On Hulu

ABC

In this medical drama, Freddie Highmore stars as Shaun Murphy, the good doctor in question, an autistic surgical resident at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital. While he creates a new life for himself San Jose, California, it doesn't take long for his life in Wyoming to catch up with him.

Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman — On Prime Video

If you're a fan of science AND history, then tune into this 90s TV show that has literally every kind of drama wrapped into one: family, relationship, and more. I promise the series, which follows Dr. Michaela Quinn as she moves from Boston to the West in the 1800s, is a super compelling watch.

Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman stars Jane Seymour, Joe Lando, Chad Allen, Shawn Toovey, Orson Bean, Jessica Bowman, and Erika Flores.

The Night Shift — Rent On Amazon Prime

Cathy Kanavy/NBC

If you thought your average medical drama was crazy during the day, wait until you see The Night Shift, which follows the nightly staff — and patients — at San Antonio Memorial Hospital.

ER — On Hulu And Max

Think of Body of Proof like Gilmore Girls in a different font. Because while balancing her career as a medical examiner with the rest of her life, Dr. Megan Hunt is also trying to reconnect with her daughter.

Body of Proof stars Dana Delany, Jeri Ryan, John Carroll Lynch, Nicholas Bishop, Sonja Sohn, Geoffrey Arend, Windell Middlebrooks, Mary Mouser, Mark Valley, and Elyes Gabel.

Good Sam — On AppleTV+

CBS

One Tree Hill's Sophia Bush leads this medical drama about Dr. Sam Griffith, who becomes Lakeshore Sentinel's top surgeon when her boss (and dad) falls into a coma. Naturally, that means she's in charge when he wakes up.

Good Sam stars Jason Isaacs, Sophia Bush, Skye P. Marshall, Michael Stahl-David, Omar Maskati, Wendy Crewson, Edwin Hodge, and Davi Santos.

Private Practice — On Hulu

ABC

Anyone who's missing Bridgerton should totally tune into this medical drama (and Grey's Anatomy spinoff) from Shonda Rhimes! Addison Montgomery is a neonatal surgeon who swaps Seattle Grace Hospital for a public clinic in LA (and a love triangle for a fresh start).

Private Practice stars Kate Walsh, Tim Daly, Audra McDonald, Paul Adelstein, KaDee Strickland, Chris Lowell, Taye Diggs, Amy Brenneman, Brian Benben, Caterina Scorsone, Benjamin Bratt, and Griffin Gluck.

Choosing a hairstyle for the day with very fine, thin hair can sometimes make you go a tad crazy. I know I've been there once or twice (or many) times, myself. Struggling to keep volume in your hair after you do said-hairstyle can be even harder. That's why I often opt for more voluminous hairstyles that allow your hair to look a bit fuller than it may actually be!

I asked hair expert Renee Valerie on her tips for styling thin hair, and how to keep it looking voluminous all day long, so keep reading to hear all of her amazing insight! And make sure to save this list so you can come back to it when you're having one of those "I can't get my hair to not be anything but flat" days. 😘

How do you keep volume in thin hair?

Kayla Walden

With thin hair, you have to be aware that curls or other heat-based styles won't hold as long in your hair because of the fine texture. In order to get styles to last, you have to use volumizing products like a styling mist or a holding gel. Expert hair stylist, Renee Valerie, says that you should never hesitate to layer products to achieve the fullness and lasting style that fine hair requires.

Using sprays or gels will help create a long-lasting voluminous style, while also protecting the color and health of your hair. So don't be scared to try new products — and even test them out together!

Best Hairstyles For Thin Hair

Renee Valerie

Layers

To start, a good layered haircut will make all the difference with fine hair. When you get a haircut with lots of layers, this helps to create dimension in the hair which gives the illusion of volume, especially when styled right. This added texture makes styling so easy because it gives your hair way more life and movement.

Alexandra Zihlmann

Half Up Half Down

There's many ways you can go about this — and I'll definitely get into more options — but you can't go wrong with a classic half-up half-down. This is a great style when you're on the end of your hair wash cycle, and need to hide some of the grease. Add a touch of dry shampoo and throw it up in this style, and you're good to go! Plus, it gets even cuter when you style it with a scrunchie or a bow to add a fun touch to the look!

Ashley Diego

Blowout

A classic blowout is one of my favorite styles for my thin hair! I typically do this when my hair's freshly wet out of the shower. I'll soak it in a styling gel or voluminous mousse to help give it volume and allow the curls to hold. Then I'll either blow it dry or use my Dyson Airwrap for the curls. The trick is to add strengthening hairspray after for an even longer hold.

Kayla Walden

Claw Clip

I love using claw clip because I can tease the underside of my hair for some added volume and use the claw clip to push up my hair even more. This is another great way to add volume to otherwise flat hair — and it's super easy to do! You just need a teasing comb, a claw clip, and voila! You're out the door, and looking fab!

Lotte Nielsen

Beachy Waves

Beachy, textured waves are sure to bring life to your thin hair! I love doing this fun hairstyle when I want a more textured look. I'll either braid my hair the night before to get the waves, or individually curl my hair tightly to get these tighter peachy waves like above. Then, all you need to do is add a texture spray and scrunch your hair. These usually last 2-3 days for me!

Cara Ellis

Messy Bun

Ah, the messy bun. Quite easily the best and quickest way to deal with your thin hair, giving it the illusion of texture or volume. I also happen to love how my hair looks when I take it out of the messy bun — I get all these kinky waves that give life to your hair. Just throw it up in a bun without trying too hard, and pull out some face-framing pieces. You'll look like you have voluminous hair in no time!

Jessie Allen

Half-Up Half-Down Braid

This is a super fun hairstyle if you're looking for something intermediate or a little more complicated than our other styles! The easiest way I like to achieve this style is by taking two pieces from either side of your hair and braiding them individually. Then wrap them around your head, tucking them into each other to create and invisible braid like above. Take it a step further by adding in beads, accessories, or flowers into the braid. A very whimsical, bridal style — or every something flirty for everyday — if I say so myself!

Kayla Walden

Using Hot Rollers

For this style, I actually used hot rollers to achieve a bouncy looking blowout. Whenever I use hot rollers, my blowout lasts much, much longer — this is because when you clip them to your head, they cool off in the curled shape for better hold. This is perfect for thin, fine hair that normally doesn't hold curls too well. It's my go-to style when I need the curls to really last all day long.

Reboots and rewatches are all the rage right now, and for good reason. They're nostaltic, they're cozy, and they really make me wish I was a teenager in the 00s. In addition to Scott Patterson saying he's "always hopeful" for Gilmore Girls to come back, Keri Russell just revealed how much she'd love to revisit Felicity, too!

  • Keri Russell reveals she'd "totally do" a Felicity reboot — on one condition.
  • Scott Foley also says "it would be really nice" to get the cast back together.
  • Felicity ran from 1998-2002 on The WB and is now available to stream on Hulu.

    Are they rebooting Felicity?

    youtube.com

    - YouTube

While promoting The Diplomat season 2, Keri Russell said she'd love to bring the series back if the story made sense. “I would totally do that if it was the right stuff,” she told E! News. “Mandy had a good pitch for it, actually. A really good pitch for, like… life wasn’t going great and, you know, didn’t work out. And she was supposed to be all these things. And then she bumps into someone…Never say never!"

In case you haven't seen the show (which ran from 1998-2002 and is available to stream on Hulu, FYI), Felicity follows Keri Russell's titular character, who's in for a rude awakening when she follows her high school crush to college in New York City. But once she's there, she realizes just how big the Big Apple really is.

The series also starred Scott Speedman as Ben Covington, Scott Foley as Noel Crane, Amy Jo Johnson as Julie Emrick, and Tangi Miller as Elena Tyler. Keri actually said they "all still talk all the time!”

“They’re like my total pals,” she says.

What else has the cast said about bringing Felicity back?

    Getty Images

Scott Foley told ET that he'd consider coming back for another installment of Felicity, even though he's been against a reboot in the past. "I had always said I wouldn't — you know, there's no reason to do anything," he said. "But just to be with them again, I think would be really nice... When we did the 20th reunion down in Texas at the [ATX Television Festival], we were onstage in a panel answering questions, and I missed being with them."

"I don't know if it could ever really happen, you know, Felicity was such a specific show at a specific time that took took place in a specific moment in people's lives," he continues. "And it's really hard to recapture — especially with the amount of gray going on right now."

In March, Greg Gunberg (who played Sean Blumberg) hinted that there'd be some "GIGANTIC Felicity News Coming VERY Soon."

So are we getting a Felicity reboot? It looks like, in Keri Russell's words, never say never!

This is not a drill: Netflix’s critically acclaimed series The Diplomat is returning for a third season! And how do we know this? Just days before the season two premiere, the streaming service announced that the popular political drama will be returning for a third installment — and we couldn’t be more excited! So, what’s next for Kate Wyler (Keri Russell)? Will she be able to catch the culprit behind the catastrophic explosion that took place in the middle of London? Is there a future for Kate and her husband, Hal Wyler (played by Rufus Sewell), who was injured in the explosion? Here is everything we know about The Diplomat season 3, including plot, cast, premiere date, trailer and more.

What is 'The Diplomat' Season 3 about?

    Netflix

Being that The Diplomat season two has yet to be released (FYI, the second installment premieres on October 31), we don’t know what the central plot for season three will be. But one thing we know for sure? “Season 3 flips the chessboard,” creator, showrunner, and executive producer Debora Cahn recently told Netflix’s TUDUM. And that’s not all: Cahn also revealed that The Diplomat season three finds Kate dealing with the “particular nightmare that is getting what you want.” OK, we will definitely be SAT.

When was 'The Diplomat' Season 3 confirmed?

    Netflix

Three weeks before The Diplomat season two premiere, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria officially confirmed that The Diplomat season three received the green light while on stage at the Bloomberg Screentime Conference in Los Angeles. Shortly after the news was revealed, The Diplomat creator Debora Cahn shared (per Variety), “After an amazing summer shooting in the U.K., we brought London home to NY.” She continued, “Best of both worlds—filming in Brooklyn. We love doing this. We’re so excited to get to keep going.” With so many TV show cancellations this year, we are so excited to see the continuation of Kate’s story in the U.K. Here’s to more adventures with our favorite diplomat!

Is 'The Diplomat' Season 3 currently in production?

    Netflix

We’re happy to confirm that yes it is! According to Netflix’s TUDUM, production for The Diplomat season 3 has officially begun in London and NYC.

When will 'The Diplomat' Season 3 premiere?

    Netflix

Here’s the thing…we don’t have an exact release date for The Diplomat season three at the moment. But given the fact The Diplomat season three has already started production, we speculate that the future installment may premiere sometime in 2025.

Who's in the cast for 'The Diplomat' Season 3?

    Getty Images for Netflix

If Kate Wyatt and her team survive the chaotic events of The Diplomat season two (fingers crossed!), we’re confident that the main cast will return for the third installment, which includes Russell as Kate, Sewell as Hal Wyler, as Ali Ahn as CIA Station Chief Eidra Park, Ato Essandoh as Kate’s Chief of Staff Stuart Hayford and Rory Kinnear as British Prime Minister Nicol Trowbridge.

Is there a trailer for 'The Diplomat' Season 3?

    Netflix

Currently, there is no trailer for The Diplomat season three. But when it’s released, you’ll be the first to know!

Where can I watch 'The Diplomat' Season 3?

    Netflix

Being that The Diplomat is a Netflix Original series, all new episodes will be available to watch on Netflix! But until then, The Diplomat season one is streaming right now on Netflix!
