Here at Brit + Co, we believe everyone is born creative. That’s why our company’s mission is focused on igniting the creative spark in all of us.
To support that mission, we launched the #IAMCREATIVE Foundation last year, a fund designed to enable women and girls to get off the ground with their inspiring entrepreneurial endeavors. We received more than 400 submissions! Today, I’m excited to announce that we’re accepting new applications for our second batch of grants from the fund.
Just like before, this year’s #IAMCREATIVE grantees will not only have the opportunity to score up to $15,000, but they’ll also get to work with an inspiring and experienced board of advisors.
Applications are open from now until July 31, 2016 and require some backstory on your personal creative dilemma. We want to hear about your biggest creative hopes and dreams, and why you need help financing them. Share with us what it is that you currently want to build with your hands, mold with your fingers, paint, hack, upcycle or simply create. Whether it’s starting your own business, developing a new innovative gadget or starting a creative outlet for your community, we wanna know all about it.
Grants from the #IAMCREATIVE Foundation are designated for female US residents who are 13 years or older. Candidates must also be open to sharing the outcome of their project on Brit + Co by contributing 2-3 posts on the site.
Need guidance on how to catch our attention? Read on. Projects will be scored based on innovation, education, planning, financial need and your mission. Find out the exact breakdown HERE.
The winners of this year’s #IAMCREATIVE Foundation grants will be announced at Re:Make 2016 in San Francisco on September 30. In addition to a nice check, you will be able to tap into a committee of rockstar creatives who will be serving as advisors. Last year’s lineup included Lauren Conrad; Ali Pincus, founder of One Kings Lane; Gary Briggs, CMO + VP Product Marketing at Facebook; Michelle Mesenburg, VP of Marketing at Target; Rebecca Minkoff, Founder + Creative Director of Rebecca Minkoff, and more.
