Jaime King Just Got Her First Perm Since Third Grade

In case you missed the memo, perms are back: One need look no further than Emma Stone and her BFF, makeup artist Rachel Goodwin, who just got matching ringlets  for proof. Now, another celeb has taken note, with Escape Plan 2: Hades actress Jaime King jumping on the curly-haired bandwagon.

The 38-year-old headed to the very same salon, Mare in West Hollywood, that Stone and Goodwin did, digging into a hamburger as stylist Kiley Fitzgerald gave the actress her “first perm since the 3rd grade!”

Documenting the entire process in a time-lapse video on Instagram, the fashionista gave fans a glimpse into what exactly it takes to get semi-permanent beach-ready locks (hint: a couple of hours spent looking like Medusa!) with a treatment that was initially embraced by the Striiike salon in Beverly Hills last year.

First perm since the 3rd grade! 💋

A post shared by Jaime King (@jaime_king) on

Dubbed the New Wave treatment ($450), the process promises to deliver beach-y waves for three to five months (depending on your natural hair’s texture), without using ANY heat.

As hairstylist Briana Dunning (pictured working her magic below) explained to Ouai magazine in November, the “only chemical invvoled is “the super gentle waving lotion which has about the same effect as using color on your hair.”

Unlike traditional perms, which rely on either an initial relaxing treatment followed by a round of heated curling rods or an alkaline compound that’s coated on the hair before tightly winding locks into ringlets with rollers, New Wave uses “soft curl foam rollers to create a customized wave for each client,” as Dunning explained to the outlet.

The process takes about two hours and is ideal for anyone with hair that falls at their chin to mid-back. Those with overly bleached or dry strands may need to wait a while, however.

What’s more, in addition to giving you a gorgeous wave, the two-hour process can actually help to tame unruly locks. Speaking to Hello Giggles, Dunning quipped, “…It improves the texture of many different hair types so that they can be air-dried and look amazing.”

It’s that just-showered, effortless style that seems to hold the biggest draw for clients. “We found that the majority of our clientele wants to wear their hair [in a] more natural, effortless, wave,” the hair guru explained. “But many realized that they needed a little extra [oomph]! The wave gives texture and body to hair so that you can wear your hair more effortlessly, [with] less time and work to get that undone cool girl wave.”

Do note, however: results will vary from client to client. “On frizzier hair, the [perm] will actually calm down the frizz. On straight hair, there will be slight frizz that coms along with amazing texture.”

For King, the result was a undone, tousled look that appear as though she just came from a date with the ocean.

Looking good, BB!

2024 was the year of the internet boyfriend: Mike Faist and Josh O'Connor (Challengers), Ryan Gosling (The Fall Guy), and Glen Powell (Twisters). But it looks like Glen might be taken IRL — but no, it has nothing to do with Sydney Sweeney postponing her wedding (she's got a busy schedule, y'all!). Glen was seen leaving a pre-BAFTA party with Lily James, and the internet is in a frenzy.

Here's everything we know about those Glen Powell and Lily James dating rumors following the 2025 BAFTAs.

Lily James and Glen Powell get cozy ahead of the BAFTAs.

Glen Powell and Lily James starred together in Netflix's The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society in 2018, where they play lovers, but they were most recently seen together ahead of the 2025 BAFTAs. After a party thrown by Charles Finch and Chanel at Loulous in Mayfair, London, the duo hopped into a car together — and Glen lent Lily his coat (based on the rain on the windshield, he must have been protecting her from the weather. Sweet!).

These two actors match their energies so well, and now that they've been spotted together again, fans are hoping we them in a rom-com sooner rather than later. I could totally see them in a "farm girl meets city boy" love story (or maybe even an Emily Henry movie?)

Only time will tell whether these two are an item, but until we know for sure we'll just have to enjoy these super cute pics!

In the past, both actors have been linked with other stars in the past. Glen Powell dated model Gigi Paris until 2023, which is the same year rumors about a relationship with Sydney Sweeney went viral (Sydney later shut those rumors down).

Lily James has dated Matt Smith and Michael Shuman, and was spotted with Chris Evans in 2020.

If you've been on the internet at all in the last week, there's a chance you've seen THAT Hollywood Reporter magazine cover. You know, the one about Justin Baldoni's Baha'i faith, with artwork of Justin holding a copy of It Ends With Us and Blake Lively slingshotting her phone at him. It's very evocative — or "sexist," according to Blake Lively. But no matter what you think, there's a good chance it'll make you say, "What am I looking at?"

Here's how Justin Baldoni's Baha'i religion reportedly influenced the making of It Ends With Us.

Is the Blake Lively vs. Justin Baldoni feud just "a perfect storm of two opposing personalities”?

Sony Pictures Releasing

The Justin Baldoni vs. Blake Lively legal battle hinges on Blake's claims that Justin sexually harassed her on set (and then orchestrated a campaign to ruin her reputation), while Justin considers her "outrageous" claims to be defamation. The Hollywood Reporter reports Ryan Reynolds has been "extremely active" trying to "drum up as much support" as possible in their personal and professional lives.

As we get closer to their March 2026 trial (and see countless websites, text leaks, and voice memos from both parties), one insider wonders if the whole situation boils down to "two opposing personalities."

“The Justin that I know isn’t capable of doing the things that he’s accused of doing because he truly sees himself as this feminist. But Blake clearly got grossed out,” the insider tells THR. “I honestly feel like it was a perfect storm of two opposing personalities.”

According to THR, the Baha'i faith has over 5 million followers in more than 230 countries, with 3,000 members in LA alone — including Rainn Wilson, Penn Badgley, and Justin. While one source from Justin's 2019 film Five Feet Apart claims it “had shades of Scientology," another says they'd never "worked with a male director who was so worried about everyone’s emotional and mental well-being."

“There was an openness and emotionality to his style that was more typical of a woman, and it probably wouldn’t be an issue if it was a [female director] because of the preconceived notions of gender," they continue. "But if you get a bunch of teamsters together who are told that they should share their feelings, of course someone is going to ask, ‘Why is he such a freak?’ But [Justin] genuinely believes that if we do this, we’ll work better as a group. There’s a little bit of an arrogance to it. It’s like he doesn’t want to acknowledge the world we live in.”

Blake Lively just spoke out about the "extremely offensive" story, saying it "seems to explain away documented examples of sexual harassment and retaliation by calling them ‘cultural misunderstandings.'"

What do you think about the idea this is all just a "misunderstanding"? Let us know in the comments.

We're in serious pursuit of something to fill the Yellowstone-sized hole in our hearts (aside from 1923 season 2, of course). And thankfully, Netflix's new showRansom Canyon is shaping up to be the perfect addition to our watchlist. Consider it My Life With The Walter Boys with a little more edge and less "I'm stuck in a love triangle with two brothers."

Here's everything you need to know about Ransom Canyon, coming to Netflix this April.

'Ransom Canyon' promises "it's not too late."

Netflix

Based on Jodi Thomas' book of the same name, Ransom Canyon is about to be your new romance obsession. The 10-episode drama examines three ranching families in Texas, and how their lives intersect.

We have Staten, a rancher dealing with secrets and trouble — just like the beautiful Quinn, who's harboring secrets of her own. Lucas wants a different life than that of a rancher, until a single decision changes everything. And Yancy just wants to use everyone in Ransom Canyon for his own gain. But even this criminal isn't ready for what's coming.

It's giving Yellowstone obviously, but it's also totally reminding me of Friday Night Lights thanks to the football and all the juicy drama. According to the trailer, the canyon "gives us all something to be happy about," and the show will tackle legacy, land, and love. Yeah...I'm tuning in and you can too when the episodes premiere April 17, 2025 on Netflix.

The 'Ransom Canyon' cast also includes some fan favorite actors.

Anna Kooris/Netflix

Yeah, the Ransom Canyon cast is absolutely stacked. We'll see Josh Duhamel as Staten, Minka Kelly as Quinn, James Brolin as Cap, Eoin Macken as Davis, Lizzy Greene as Lauren, Marianly Tejada as Ellie, Jack Schumacher as Yancy, Garrett Wareing as Lucas, and Andrew Liner as Reid. Jennifer Ens, Niko Guardado, Casey W. Johnson, Philip Winchester, Kate Burton, Brett Cullen, Tatanka Means, Jaren Robledo, Justin Johnson Cortez, and Kenneth Miller also star.

Here's when you can watch Ransom Canyon.

Netflix

Ransom Canyon premieres on Netflix April 17, and will have 10 episodes total. I can't wait to tune in! For now, watch the trailer here!

Blake Lively just revealed she's been getting "violent" messages amid her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni. (Although with the Snow White & Rachel Zegler backlash, she's not the only one. The internet has a lot to say these days). The Another Simple Favor actress has requested "additional protections" from the judge presiding over her trial, which really shows you how insane this whole It Ends With Us drama has gotten.

Here's what Blake Lively — and Justin Baldoni — had to say about the backlash to the It Ends With Us feud.

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni agree the 'It Ends With Us' backlash has gone too far.

Sony Pictures Releasing

Both Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively's legal teams agreed to a protective order (also known as a PO), and on February 20, Blake's lawyers requested stronger protections than the "model" they'd received from the court (via People).

And considering Blake Lively, "her family, other members of the cast, various fact witnesses, and individuals that have spoken out publicly in support of Ms. Lively have received violent, profane, sexist, and threatening communications" (as the letter states), "good cause exists for the Court to adopt the Proposed PO."

Her lawyer's letter also requested "an Attorney’s Eyes Only ('AEO') category, which applies to 'Confidential Discovery Material of such a highly confidential and personal, sensitive, or proprietary nature that the revelation of such is likely to cause a competitive, business, commercial, financial, personal or privacy injury.'"

And Justin Baldoni's team actually weighed in on the conversation. “We do not condone dangerous rhetoric targeted toward anyone no matter the situation,” they said in a statement. "“Anyone receiving violent messages by anonymous parties is abhorrent. When private parties were wrongfully accused by Lively and her paid team of wrongdoing, they received continuous death threats and visits to private homes where young children reside after their addresses were leaked on her initial complaints. No one should have to face that, especially private parties who do not have means for security detail. We do not condone dangerous rhetoric targeted toward anyone no matter the situation.”

Here's what What Blake Lively Had To Say About "Emotional" Toll Of Justin Baldoni Drama On Her Kids: "Traumatized".
