Inside Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Rosé-Inspired Home Office Makeover

Ever wish drinking wine with your besties could be your day job? Us too. (Sadly, nobody pays us to do it.) But for former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe, that dream job is actually a reality. Bristowe’s podcast Off the Vinefeatures friends and celebs talking over their favorite bottle du jour, but until recently, she didn’t have a space befitting the glamorous nature of her workdays. Decorist Creative Director Jessica McCarthy stepped in to transform Bristowe’s podcast nook into an inspiring and luxe environment where it’s all about the wine… and she did it on a budget.

“Kaitlyn uses her office for recording her hilarious podcast, and thus a dramatic, feminine, ‘wine-inspired’ space was what I set out to achieve,” says McCarthy. She struck an instantly statement-making note with the large-scale floral wallpaper, which really kicked off the design process. “When designing a room it’s important to have an anchor that will inspire the rest of the look. It could be a vintage find, a swoon-worthy piece of art, a dramatic light fixture or, in the instance of Kaitlyn’s podcast room, a bold wallpaper,” she says.

Believe it or not, one of McCarthy’s best sources for creating this rich, textural room was actually a big box store. “Bed Bath & Beyond has a huge variety of chic furniture pieces at great prices, so it was super easy to make the room look stylish and elevated,” she says. McCarthy was thoughtful about incorporating some design elements that Bristowe already had, which also helped keep the project thrifty. “Kaitlyn had a built-in shelving system which we painted in a high-gloss black finish, and changed out the hardware. With just a few easy changes and some great new pieces, we were able to design a fun and inspiring room on a budget,” she says.

Even though Bristowe’s days look a little different from our normal 9-to-5, McCarthy still wanted to make sure the room was functional as a workspace. But that didn’t mean sacrificing Bristowe’s personal style. “The worst thing you can do is to feel like you have to restrict yourself because it’s an office space,” advises McCarthy. “Working environments have become more relaxed and inspiring. Consider a dining table as a desk, or add a comfy seating area for meetings or as an alternative place to sit and work,” she suggests. Bristowe’s office made use of the TOV Furniture Majesty Desk ($550) to help set the Hollywood-glam mood.

McCarthy was mindful of keeping the room from feeling too dark, so she employed a few tricks. “We covered two walls in wallpaper instead of the whole room, which is a great way to introduce a pattern without it feeling overbearing. We used lighter tones in the rug, ceiling paint, and upholstered furniture to bring lightness to the space, once again creating a beautiful contrast with the darker tones of the wallpaper and built-ins,” she says. We’re loving how this oversized mirror helps bring in a feeling of airiness.

This balance of light and dark ended up being one of McCarthy’s favorite qualities of the project. “I love the contrast of the floral wallpaper with the lush pink velvet drapes,” she says. “The combo of the two is gorgeous, luxe, and feminine.” Rosé-pink accents echo this throughout the room, acting as a stylish nod to Bristowe’s favorite topic.

The result may just be one of Bristowe’s favorite spaces. “Jessica made my interior design dreams come true with my podcast room,” Bristowe tells us. “I feel like I’m on an episode of HGTV when I sit in this room!”

Phaidon

Not sure how to describe your home aesthetic? Take cues from these stunning spaces in Defining Style, which comes out on March 18, 2025. Plus add the book to your coffee book collection for more design style inspiration.

Here are all the trending interior design styles you need to know for 2025!

Audra Kiewiet de Jonge Art & Interiors

Biophilic

If your home feels like a tranquil, nature-infused retreat like this Richmond, VA home of artist and designer Audra Kiewiet de Jonge, you're leaning into biophilic design. This design style is filled with organic shapes, lush greenery, and natural materials to create a serene sanctuary. A natural indoor-outdoor flow is also something you'll covet in this design style.

Simon Brown / Natalia Miyar

Tailored

Like a tailored suit, these rooms pay attention to the finer details. Freund says its unfussy and clutter-free and incorporates luxury elements like stone and leather. Designer Natalia Miyar designed this tailored London penthouse that's featured in Defining Style.

Ben Richards / Naoki Terada

Modernist

If you favor simplicity, functionality, and clean lines, this design style rooted in the early 20th century is your core aesthetic. Modernism emphasizes open spaces, minimal ornamentation, and the use of modern materials like steel, glass, and concrete. Form follows function, with a focus on practicality but also really great design. Here is an example in Defining Style from designer Naoki Terada's Tokyo, Japan home.

Anson Smart / Greg Natale

Coastal

Organic materials inspired by seaside living delivers an elevated coastal decor. This Sydney, Australia home designed by Greg Natale embraces the views of the sea with rich textures and neutral decor with splashes of organic elements.

Jason Schmidt / GRT Architects

Textured

I'm in love with this former Harlem rectory designed by GRT Architects. The layers of textures from leather to wool to wood and glossy surfaces defines this design style and delivers a truly sensory experience.

Courtesy of Atelier ND

Monochrome

If there is a single hue you fully embrace in a room or your entire home, monochrome is the definition of your design style. It's bold and unapologetic. This family villa in Amsterdam was designed by Atelier ND Interior in the perfect pink hue.

Gonzalo Machado / Casa Muñoz

Contemporary

Freund describes this aesthetic as a "melting pot" that blends elements from the past with trendy pieces, colors, and materials. Casa Muñoz, the Madrid-based apartment of Spanish supermodel Eugenia Silva, was designed by wife-and-husband team Mafalda Muñoz and Gonzalo Machado with this aesthetic in mind.

Paul Massey / House & Garden © Conde Nast

Tropical

Climate plays a crucial role in design, especially in tropical regions, where homes must be thoughtfully designed to adapt to and limit its effects. Covered porches, concrete and tile flooring, and an invisible line between indoors and out define this decor style. Anita Calero makes it look effortlessly elegant in this Colombia home.

Mike Karlsson Lundgren / Cappelen Dimyr

Rustic

Rustic is about being ok with the imperfections and embracing natural beauty with raw, organic elements like weathered wood, stone, and earthy tones. It celebrates a cozy, lived-in feel, a place you can kick up your heels and just chill. It also has a Scandi vibe as in this Maja Dixdotter-designed Swedish country home.

Eric Piasecki

Deco Inspired

You may have elements of the Art Deco aesthetic in your space as it has a timeless elegance to it with sleek lines, luxe materials, and geometric patterns. Freund describes it as the most glamorous design style of the 20th century that's also rooted in modern design principles. This quintessential Art Deco apartment in Chicago was designed by Steven Gambrel.

Martin Morrell / Aldridge & Supple

Mountain

This design style is all about woodsy charm with exposed wood beams, stone fireplaces, and cozy textures like sheepskin and wool. Surrounded by breathtaking views, mountain homes like this farmhouse in the U.K. designed by Aldridge & Supple feel like a total escape.

Joachim Wichmann

Neutral

If you prefer aQuiet Luxury aesthetic, this design style is your preferred taste. With neutral tones, everything from furniture form to luxe and textured materials become the stars of the show. This Milan palazzo designed by Vincenzo De Cotiis is neutral but not at all understated.

Romulo Fialdini / Sig Bergamin

Maximal

Maximalist design celebrates creativity and individuality with vibrant colors, bold patterns, and layered textures. If you can't commit to a style this is a design style for you. It mixes eras with eclectic decor to create a visually dynamic space. This is the maximal São Paulo, Brazil home of designer Sig Bergamin.

Paul Massey / VSP Interiors

Timeless

Stemming from a neoclassical style, timeless design styles look to "balance, symmetry, and proportion," says Freund. It's a refined look with decorative details, as illustrated in this family home in the U.K designed by VSP Interiors.

I'd like to consider myself a romantic person in every aspect of life. I'm constantly coming up with stories, putting ribbons in my hair, and literally stopping to smell the roses (what can I say, when you see a flower in New York City, you might as well savor it). Needless to say, Valentine's Day (and Galentine's Day) is one of my favorite holidays. Aside from the fact that it provides a brief burst of color in the bleak midwinter, it is also a reminder that no matter how tough life gets, love is always worth celebrating. There's just one catch: I have been single my whole life, which makes the constant stream of date night ideas and partner gift inspo that flood the internet this time of year feel like they're a touch out of reach.

Valentine's Day can be less than thrilling if you feel like you don't have anyone to spend it with, but take it from me: there are more than enough ways to have a great time riding solo. If you've recently gone through a breakup or you're the only single friend left in your group, here's my best advice on tackling the upcoming love season if you're single on Valentine's Day (with a little help from Dr. Jenny Taitz, author of How To Be Single And Happy).

Here's how to fully embrace being in your single era on Valentine's Day

Chloe Williams/Brit + Co

Whether or not we admit it, there's definitely still a stigma around singleness. "Despite the fact that these days we may not need a partner to fulfill our hopes, being single remains so stigmatized, with shows depicting the need to compete to win love and headlines depicting women who are single as in an unfortunate situation," Dr. Taitz says. "It’s key to be mindful of these unhelpful messages to [keep them] from impacting how we view ourselves."

I've been on a few dates as an adult, but I often feel like I've missed out on a lot of the foundational experiences that come with being a young woman. Not to mention that it's easier than I'd like to admit to feel like there's something wrong with me if I'm the common thread through every dead-end romantic situation.

Even if comments from your friends like "They're just not good enough for you" or "You're so independent" have good intentions, not feeling desired is hard. Sometimes you just need to process those emotions in whatever way works best for your wellbeing because singleness is incredibly complex — one day I'm enjoying eating at a restaurant alone, the next a rom-com makes me cry — and as easy as it is to swing between the extremes of total happiness to bitterness, the reality is that I'm usually somewhere in between.

"Days like Valentine’s Day can be incredible opportunities to practice self-validation and self-compassion," Taitz says. "Being single on a day that can pull you to compare or feel less than is a good time to be especially kind to yourself [and act] in ways that remind you that you are enough and don’t need a plus one to feel whole."

Activities that engage your soul will help you feel good *and* romanticize self-care at the same time. I love creating a vision board in my bullet journal to see my dreams on paper, or reminding myself of where my true worth lies. If you're really struggling with feeling lonely, Taitz recommends listing out the areas of your life that matter to you, then writing down the value you want to add to each and mapping out how and why those values matter.

"There’s no way a relationship can be your full sense of worth — that’s not fair to you or the relationship and that’s not accurate in terms of what we know about happiness," she says. "Happiness hinges on being present and engaging in positive actions and having fulfilling relationships — and coupling isn’t the only source of connection (assuming it is almost like limiting your diet to strawberries — it’s not going to fill you and will deplete you)."

There is so much more to my worth than whether I have a romantic partner: I love movies and books, I love talking to my little sister on the phone, and I can spend hours happily in the kitchen listening to music and making a nourishing dinner. There's much more to your worth, too.

My mother constantly reminds me to wait for the Right person, not the Right Now person. There are pros and cons to every phase of life, and I'm very content with the pros right now. Eventually, however, I'm hoping my Valentine's Day charcuterie board for one will become a board for two.

I've been working from home since long before it became the norm. And my "office" has evolved from a spindled-back chair at the kitchen table to an airy home office with a view. Back then, my productivity took a hit without essentials like adequate storage space, comfortable seating, and a bit of privacy. While it has its perks, working from home comes with its fair share of challenges; your home office setup doesn't need to be one of them.

Here are 10 ways to redesign your home office for better productivity!

Caio

1. Bad Lighting

Dim or harsh overhead lighting can strain your eyes and limit your focus. Try to get close to a window for natural light or use daylight bulbs to mimic sunlight to boost your mood, creativity, and focus. Find a desk lamp that works for you too!

Ella Jardim

2. Clutter Everywhere

A cluttered desk equals a cluttered mind, IMO. Reduce the stress that comes with a disorganized and cluttered desk by bringing in shelves and organizers; finding sleek cable-management solutions; and removing any unnecessary items to reduce visual distractions.

Vlada Karpovich

3. Uncomfortable Furniture

If you're sitting most of the day, it's so important to invest in a good desk chair. An unsupportive chair or poorly sized desk can be uncomfortable, making it harder to stay focused for long periods of time. Your back will thank you!

Ketut Subiyanto

4. No Boundaries Between Work and Home

Distractions at home like kids and partners can kill your productivity. Avoid blurring the line between work and home life by designating a private space, separate from high-traffic spaces, for your work hours if you can. Use rugs, curtains, or acoustic panels to reduce noise too.

Mizuno K

5. Lack of Storage

I get it, they're not the best-looking pieces in your home, but without proper filing systems you’ll waste time hunting for important documents or supplies. Invest in modern storage options that look good too from Mustard Made and The Container Store.

Vlada Karpovich

6. Unoptimized Tech Setup

Slow Internet or outdated tech tools can make you feel totally frustrated and can slow down your productivity. Upgrade your Internet to a faster connection, and refresh your tech gadgets and programs to make sure you work more efficiently.

Ivan Samkov

7. Awkward Desk Placement

Placing your desk in a spot with too much noise, traffic, or distractions — like facing a TV — will guarantee to disrupt your concentration. Find a more zen spot where you can focus on the tasks of the day.

Anna Shvets

8. Ignoring Ergonomics

Check your monitor height, keyboard positioning, and add a wrist rest so you don't lead to feeling uncomfortable and fatigued, cutting your workday short.

Mikhail Nilov

9. Lack of Personalization

A sterile, uninspiring office design does your motivation and creativity no favors. Make work feel less like a chore by adding personal touches through artwork, personal photos, candles, some fresh flowers or plants. Greenery can improve air quality and actually reduce work stress. Add a little snack station for quick energy boosts and keep water handy. Also, your Zoom backgrounds should reflect your personality!

Serpstat

10. No Inspiration

No matter what you do — whether it's a creative work or something more analytical — you want to feel inspired. Personalization can help, but dive into vision boards, books, magazines, quotes that inspire your work and help you bring fresh ideas to your workday. Color psychology can help too: blues and greens encourage focus and reduce stress while pops of yellow or orange can spark creativity! Break out the paint if needed!

Exes Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa are back at HGTV, but this time they're competing against each other...alongside Tarek's wife Heather El Moussa. And if you think that's a lot to unpack, get ready! The first episode aired last night (January 29), and it's clear the former spouses aren't just in it for the real estate wins — they're finally opening up about their divorce, Christina's most recent divorce, and more. Their tearful confessions simultaneously broke and mending our hearts last night. Here's what they had to say.

Scroll to see what Christina Haack & Tarek El Moussa shared on The Flip Off.

www.youtube.com

- YouTube

In the first episode of The Flip Off, Christina shared with Tarek that she and Josh Hall officially split, tearfully admitting that she quickly gets into relationships that "aren't right" for her and noting how "horrible" everything's been for her since their divorce in 2016

As Christina and Tarek opened up to one another, the exes eventually came to forgive each other. Christina said, "I know we’re in a good place now, but yeah, we went through a lot of stuff. I don’t think anyone understands just how much stuff we went through. We met when we were so young."

Christina shared that Tarek was her "best friend" before the divorce, and that afterward she lost that and had to be a full-time mom — both of which "really, really, really hurt" her "really affected" her. Afterwards, Tarek said, "I understand that feeling of being a little bit lost. And I acknowledge that I’m a big part, if not the entire part, of all of this."

In a pivotal moment — for Christina and Tarek, but really all of us as fans — she said, "I’m really sorry for s---. I really am. I just want you to know that." Tarek took her knee during the apology, and Christina then asked, "You forgive me?"

Tarek's response? "A hundred percent, yeah."

And it wasn't just Christina apologizing either. Tarek said that he "did a lot of things" too, noting that he "holds zero against" her. In his confessional, Tarek opened up more about the cause for their split. He said, "I got diagnosed with cancer and then I hurt my back. I lost 60 lbs. because I was taking so many opiates and Vicodin and painkillers. I lost my way, lost who I was. I just wasn’t the best husband. I wasn’t the best father. You know, I own my s---. It wasn’t me, but it was me."

In the emotional conversation, Christina told Tarek, "You’re a great dad. I’m really proud of you. You’ve come a really long way. I can see it, you know. You’re so much calmer, you’re so much wiser, for real."

To see these two grow to love and support each other in a new way is truly beautiful! (And so are the houses they continue to flip. 😉)

You can catch The Flip Off on HGTV every Wednesday at 8pm EST.
