‘The Bachelorette’ Star Kaitlyn Bristowe Went Makeup-Free for an Important Reason

In a society ruled by social media and uber-filtered photos, it makes it all the more refreshing when people particularly celebritiessurfacesans makeup and perfectly styled hair. Former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe is the latest celeb daring to bare it all, and she’s got a really important reason for doing so.

The bride-to-betook to Instagram to show off her product-free face, joking that she would be taking the risk of “[messing] up my esthetically pleasing feed.”

Bristowe, 32, didn’t care, however, because she had a deeper purpose: like reminding her followers that the glammed up version of the reality star they’ve been seeing as of late for her Broadway show, Home for the Holidays, isn’t exactly her reality.

“After two months on Broadway, getting dolled up with full hair and makeup, this is how I normally look,” she wrote. “It’s been a whirlwind and I have just been ‘on’ for a while now… Just wanted to remind you today while scrolling, that you’re beautiful, Instagram is a highlight reel, and we all have things to work on. But work on the inside this year, scroll less, love more, and the outside will fall into place. Let’s make 2018 the year of #Realstagram and mix one in every once and a while! Who’s with me?”

The message is a particularly striking one for the podcast queen, who has been plenty open about the pressure she faced to have a “perfect” body while competing on both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.

“I don’t know if you noticed but it feels like if you go on The Bachelor, your body has to be perfect and you have to post about it, like, a lot. Which is a ton of pressure,” she posted on a previous Instagram photo. “Yes. I’m tiny, but I have cellulite, and insecurities. I’m actually insecure about how scrawny my arms are. I work hard to be healthy, and love my body, but also drink wine and eat McDonalds. (Had it twice this week.)”

Kudos to Kaitlyn for keeping it real!

The magic of Selena Gomez's red carpet look for the 81st Golden Globes is in the details. From the slivers of skin seen through the bodice of her red satin Armani dress to the dramatic downturn of its long, asymmetrical skirt, the Only Murders in the Buildingnominee for Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series clearly came to stun.

Selena's glamorous red and black ensemble surely stood out with pops of stunning silver jewelry, but the one thing I couldn't keep my eyes off of were her shiny black nails! Her right-hand manicurist, Tom Bachik, dished on how exactly he crafted the painfully sultry paint job.

IG @tombachik

“Selena’s custom dress is such an amazing red with black accents, and we felt the nails should play off that," Bachik said. "The black high-gloss shine found in the flowers on the front was the perfect inspiration.”

These edgy black nails are not only the perfect homage to the rest of Selena's look (a bold smokey eye, jet-black floral accents), but a fitting reminder of my awkward middle school days when all I wanted was to fit into the flourishing emo scene. Though Selena's Golden Globes looks is worlds from the ever-so sleazy 2010's, I love that her glossy black nails can be worn a variety of ways for the everyday!

The secret behind Selena's rebellious mani is iconic nail brand, essie. Here's how to get the exact look in just four steps.

Get The Look: Selena Gomez's Golden Globes Black Nails

1. Prep the nails.

For Selena's black nails, Bachik began with a "meticulous manicure" using the Tweezerman & Tom Bachik Nail Care Travel Set ($29). Think your standard trimming, filing, clipping, and cuticle care – this step will set your nail beds up for some generously glossy coats!

2. Paint on the black.

Bachik painted two solid coats of Essie 'Licorice' ($8) for the base of Selena's black nails. This shade has the most perfect payoff to ensure your dark-as-night mani looks sleek AF.

3. Top it all off.

Bachik swears by Essie Gel Setter Top Coat ($11) for a seamless finish to any mani.

4. Don't skip post-mani nail care.

The Essie On A Roll Apricot Nail & Cuticle Oil does a great job at rehydrating the nails and surrounding skin. Bachik finished off Selena's 'patent leather' manicure with the roll-on applicator.

Turns out the new season of Only Murders In The Building isn’t the only reason behind Selena Gomez' everglow. Nope, our girl has some legit beauty tips that keep her looking on point at all times. Sit back and prepare to get schooled by one muse we can’t get enough of. These nine hair and skin lessons will take your summer to the next level.

Selena Gomez Beauty Lessons For Your Hair

Beauty Lesson #1

Dirty hair holds style better than clean strands. That’s why the “Lose You To Love Me” singer told Allure in 2016 that she only cleanses her hair every four days, relying on dry shampoo and Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray ($24) to touch up her roots in between washes.

Beauty Lesson #2

Apply your favorite hair oil overnight to kick dry ends to the curb. Vogue revealed that while on her second solo tour, the singer, actress, and entrepreneur routinely applies Pantene Gold Series Intense Hydrating Oil ($8) before pulling her hair into a bun for the night. Who knew?

Beauty Lesson #3

A signature hairstyle should embrace your natural texture. She relies on Pantene Airspray Hairspray ($5) to keep her texture light and soft, telling Vogue, “I love being able to let it flow and be wavy because that’s my go-to look.”

Selena Gomez Beauty Lessons For Your Face

Beauty Lesson #4

She believes in cleaning her face err’day. The beauty-lover revealed to Into the Glossthat her daily regimen begins with her Clarisonic Mia Facial Cleansing Brush ($167), “When I don’t get a chance to do the whole routine in the morning, it really bums me out.” Girl, we hear you!

Beauty Lesson #5

Treat problematic areas of your face preventatively. Perfect skin like the songstress’ takes work, which is why uses a humidifier and face-mask combo on-the-reg to keep her blemish-prone chin area clear. This Urban Outfitters Mini Mushroom Humidifier ($24) is cute, cheap, and convenient to boot.

Beauty Lesson #6

Gomez balances out her beauty. The icon-in-the-making notes that she prefers a balanced look, opting for bold eyes or bold lips, but never both at the same time. Allurerevealed that she keeps her foundation light to avoid cakiness, and her Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation ($29) is the perfect pick.

Selena Gomez Beauty Lessons For Your Body

Beauty Lesson #7

Stress shows. So the former Disney star is all about striking that perfect work-life balance. Trainer Amy Rosoff helped her remove scales, fast food, and crash-diets from her life entirely. And while there’s nothing else like the beauty-restoring powers of a good night’s rest, Gomez swore toByrdie that it’s First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy AM Gel Cream (Eye Duty Niacinamide Brightening Cream, $36, is a good alternative) that keeps her looking bright-eyed each morning — even after late nights spent afterparty-hopping post-awards shows.

Beauty Lesson #8

Regular sweat-seshes keep skin soft and glowing. Of course working out helps your physique look svelte AF. But Gomez adores the Infrared Sweat Wraps from Shape House to burn calories and eliminate toxins, tellingElle, “It’s changed my skin, it’s kind of changed my body as well, so it feels really good. That’s kind of been something that works really well for me personally.”

Beauty Lesson #9

Stay hydrated. Scoring an enviable pout like the celeb’s comes down to hydration — and, well, genetics. She shared with Into the Gloss that her everyday lippie is none other than Fresh Sugar Lip Serum Advanced Therapy ($36), an anti-aging lip treatment that moisturizes, smoothes, and contours your pucker.

This post has been updated.

Bridgerton is known for its romantic storylines, the insane chemistry between its couples, and its beautiful costumes. But it's also known for its needle drops, AKA orchestral covers of iconic rap and pop songs. They bring a contemporary flair to the show but also fit right into a regency ball. After season 3 FINALLY included "You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift (not to mention the fact "Give Me Everything" by Pitbull was also there), I have quite a few songs I need to hear in season 4. Let's break 'em down (with spoilers!! You've been warned).

Here are the 10 songs we need to hear in Bridgerton season 4, Netflix!

1. "That's So True" by Gracie Abrams

StillMoving.Net for Netflix

The internet went absolutely crazy over "That's So True" — and posted endless edits of TV characters running during the bridge. So I'm gonna need to see Benedict and Sophie run to one another while this plays in the background, K?

2. "Pink Pony Club" by Chappell Roan

Netflix

Nobody throws a party like the Bridgertons, and nobody creates party music like Chappell Roan. I could totally see this song being added to Bridgerton season 4's music during a big, empowering scene...or during a more upbeat moment in the masquerade ball.

3. "Taste" by Sabrina Carpenter

Gavin Brown/Netflix

"Taste" is all about Sabrina's love — and the other woman in his life. Since Benedict is torn between Sophie and the Woman in Silver, this could be a clever way to play up Sophie's double identity! (I know what you're thinking: What about "Espresso"? Feel free to add multiple Sabrina songs, Netflix).

4. "Love Story" by Taylor Swift

Liam Daniel/Netflix

With the star-crossed-lovers of it all, what could be more fitting than Taylor Swift's "Love Story," which is all about a Romeo and Juliet-esque romance?

5. "Messy" by Lola Young

Gavin Bond/Netflix

Sophie is constantly overworked and used by her step-mother, and "Messy," which essentially talks about the idea of never being good enough, is a perfect fit the moment Sophie doesn't know what to do.

6. "Symphony (feat. Zara Larsson)" by Clean Bandit

Liam Daniel/Netflix

I know, I know. This became one giant meme and can't be taken seriously anymore. But you can't deny this is the PERFECT party song for Bridgerton season 4.

7. "Sailor Song" by Gigi Perez

Liam Daniel/Netflix

This haunting and ethereal song has been on repeat — and I can just hear it playing while Benedict daydreams about Sophie. (Or when they finally have their first kiss 👀).

8. "Champagne Coast" by Blood Orange

Netflix

This is another emotional song that I've been obsessed with. Netflix, it's perfect for any and all montages and flashbacks, just in case you were wondering.

9. "Birds of a Feather" by Billie Eilish

Liam Daniel/Netflix

I love the women of Bridgerton — and when Penelope, Eloise, and Kate inevitably welcome Sophie into the family, this would make the perfect background song.

10. "Diet Pepsi" by Addison Rae

Liam Daniel/Netflix

Bridgerton loves a steamy scene...and the people love Addison Rae's "Diet Pepsi." I'll leave it at that.

Dunkalatte

You read that right – after selling out last fall, the "highly-requested" Dunkalatte has returned to the Dunkin' spring menu! Crafted with rich coffee milk, the latte (that truly tastes like a milkshake) also boasts shots of espresso that make it totally charged with caffeine. Dunkin' called it an "instant sellout," which is all the more reason to give it a try. You'll be able to order this baby iced or hot.

Dunkin'

Pistachio Coffee

Another Dunkin' fan-favorite, the Pistachio Coffee, has also made its return to the spring menu! This nutty coffee flavor first debuted in 2018, and I've been dreaming about it ever since. It's made with a "subtly sweet" pistachio syrup and Dunkin's Original Blend coffee for a satisfying sip. It's also orderable iced or hot.

More Drinks On The Dunkin' Spring Menu

Dunkin'

Brown Sugar Shakin’ Espresso

This Sabrina Carpenter-approved sip will thankfully stay on the Dunkin' menu. It boasts an icy, shaken mix of "bold" espresso, brown sugar, and oat milk.

Dunkin'

Raspberry Watermelon Dunkin’ Refresher

With notes of raspberry and watermelon, this Refresher is the perfect springtime sipper! You'll have a choice of mixing it with either green tea or lemonade this season.

New Dunkin' Snack Alert!

Dunkin'

Ham & Swiss Pretzel Sliders

Sound the alarms! There's an all-new breakfast snack on the Dunkin' spring menu this go-around. Featuring King's Hawaiian Pretzel Slider Buns, these sliders are stacked up with Black Forest ham, honey mustard, and Swiss cheese. There are two sliders per box, so you can easily snack away.

Dunkin' Snacks Returning (For A Limited Time!)

Dunkin'

Sweet Black Pepper Bacon

The Sweet Black Pepper Bacon will also be available at Dunkin' (for a limited time!) this season, available as a Breakfast Sandwich, Wake Up Wrap, or just the plain Snackin’ Bacon.

Dunkin'

Just when I was missing chicken-filled breakfast options at Dunkin', the Chicken & Bacon Croissant Stuffer returns to the spring menu! Available for a limited time, this flaky pastry is stuffed with chicken, bacon, and Colby Jack cheese.
