You Won’t Believe How People Are Reacting to Kanye’s Trump Comment

Kanye certainly isn’t afraid to speak his mind (to say the least), which is why we shouldn’t be surprised by now that he’s willing to step up on stage and say whatever pleases him. Unfortunately, this time around, what he had to say has seriously set folks OFF. Why’s that? Well, it was all about Trump.

Fans were already a little on edge after Kanye arrived late to his San Jose stop for his Saint Pablo tour last night. But when he decided to jump onto the subject of politics, he opted to just leap right off a cliff. Not only admitting that he didn’t bother to vote, he also claims that if he did, he would have voted for Trump.

Concert goers were not thrilled to hear this, and booed Yeezy as he continued on to say, “Specifically to black people, stop focusing on racism… we are in a racist country. Period… not one or the other candidate was going to instantly change that.” Those in attendance weren’t the only ones peeved at this stance. The internet is on fire over Kanye’s statements.

Some people feel like he’s totally off, and they’re done with him…

https://twitter.com/GeorgeGatsby3/status/799661101445218304

While others think it’s political…

Although that plan may backfire…

And some think it’s just for the attention…

Note: Some of the tweets are super rage-filled and just too, um, fired-up to include. Seriously, yowza!

If you're a 90s movies (and horror movies) lover, you might agree that nothing beats an old school slasher. I Know What You Did Last Summer, which stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Freddie Prinze Jr., premiered in 1997, combines everything we love about coming of age movies — friends, summer vacation, and drama — with just enough terror to send a chill down your spine. Yes, a brand new I Know What You Did Last Summer is coming to theaters this summer. But just because it's a new film doesn't mean it won't have plenty of nostalgia.

Already renewed for season 2, the series will continue to follow his character's journey as an unemployed thief who's been discovering grimy secrets about the people he knows.

If you haven't seen it yet, it's like Don Draper stepped into the world of Fun with Dick & Jane and added his signature sex appeal to it. But I have an inkling season 2 is going to be even sexier now that James Marsden's chiseled face is joining the cast!

Faced with being a single, penniless dad, he decides to turn to a crime-ridden life to support the lifestyle he's always had.

2. Amanda Peet as Mel Cooper

After Andrew moves into a rental place, he meets Samantha "Sam" Levitt. She's also going through a messy divorce which leads them to trauma bond and have a recurrent sexual affair. It's about as messy as you think it is!

After only two episodes of Only Murders in the Building season 4, Hulu renewed the series for season 5! I'm so excited that the show breaks a recent pattern of cancelling shows after the third or fourth season, giving us more time with our favorite characters, and I'm not the only one.

"Here we go again… my favorite set family. I’m coming home!" Selena Gomez says in an Instagram post, while the official Only Murders account made their own post, saying, "We had our lawyers call business affairs. Turned the 4 into a 5. #OnlyMurdersInTheBuilding is coming back for Season 5!!"

In addition to the show entering production, the one and only Renée Zellweger (Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy) just joined the cast. Iconic!

Here's everything you need to know about Only Murders in the Building season 5, coming to Hulu soon.

Who's in the Only Murders in the Building season 5 cast?

Eric McCandless/Disney

The Only Murders in the Building season 5 cast features all our favorites, and some new faces! According to Dan Fogelman, “we can expect more big guest stars that’ll probably be announced sooner rather than later,” he tells The Wrap.

"I am so grateful that I have been surrounded by human beings that make me better, challenge me, remind me day after day that every moment is a gift," Selena Gomez says about working with Steve Martin and Martin Short. "That’s my pure joy. I thank god for the era I’m in. It’s been the best yet."

The Only Murders season 5 cast includes:

  • Selena Gomez as Mabel Mora: a true crime lover who begins her own podcast after getting sucked into a murder mystery.
  • Martin Short as Oliver Putnam: a theatre director and founder of the Only Murders in the Building podcast.
  • Steve Martin as Charles Hayden Savage: an actor and true crime lover who begins the Only Murders podcast with Oliver and Mabel.
  • Téa Leoni as Sofia Caccimelio: a woman who approaches the podcast trio after her husband Nicky goes missing.
  • Renée Zellweger
  • Christoph Waltz
  • Keegan-Michael Key

What is Only Murders in the Building season 5 about?

Patrick Harbron/Disney

We finally got our first details about Only Murders season 5 — and we're going in a direction I totally didn't expect. When Sofia visits Mabel and Charles in the season 4 ending, and asks them to find her missing husband, she's disappointed when they turn her down. And since Téa Leoni just joined the season 5 cast, it looks like she's not taking no for an answer.

“I think she’s the great tease at the end of the finale and a little bit of an intriguing bump forward,” co-creator John Hoffman says in an interview with Deadline. “She’s an extension of the little news report in Episode 9 that Mabel makes note of at the hospital. [Sofia] is the wife of the Dry Cleaning King of Brooklyn, and maybe a couple of dry cleaning outlets in Manhattan, as well, we may come to know...It’s a world opened up potentially that we haven’t talked about too much yet in New York, so she holds a lot of intrigue.”

Patrick Harbron/Hulu

New York's underground is a wild space that we haven't really seen on Only Murders yet so I know we're in for one very interesting season — because if this show is going to go there, they're going to go there.

Executive producer Dan Fogelman told The Wrapwe can look forward to “another big fun mystery the writers have been cooking up," while Hoffman has gone on the record saying the new episodes will “hit on some very current things going on within New York, specifically very relevant things that are happening in the city right now.”

When is Only Murders in the Building season 5 coming out?

Patrick Harbron/Hulu

There's no Only Murders in the Building season 5 release date quite yet, but the show is in production! Considering we've had a new season over the last four years (with season 1 in 2021, season 2 in 2022, season 3 in 2023, and season 4 in 2024), we're expecting to see season 5 in 2025. Stay tuned for the official Only Murders season 5 release date.

How many episodes are there in Only Murders in the Building season 5?

Patrick Harbron/Hulu

Only Murders in the Building season 5 will have 10 episodes total on Hulu.

Political thrillers have long been a quiet powerhouse in the TV industry. The genre first erupted in media through movies, with titles like 1958’s The Quiet American, The Manchurian Candidatein 1962, All the President's Menin 1976, and 1981’s The Amateurr. At that time, the inspiration was fueled by the events of the Kennedy assassination, the Watergate scandal, and the Vietnam War. It took a while for the genre to gain traction within the TV landscape, but political thrillers have slowly but mightily climbed their way to the top as a must-watch and a yearned-for genre amongst audiences, especially within TV. All of that being said, I’ve rounded up 10 of the best, so you don’t have to go searching!

Here are the 10 best political thriller TV shows you can stream now.

ABC

1. Scandal

If Shonda Rhimes is behind it, you know it’s good. To top it off, the Kerry Washington leads the series. Washington plays Olivia Pope, a former media consultant for the president who ventures out to open her own crisis-management firm. Though she and her expert team are great at sweeping others' secrets and scandals under the rug, they struggle to do the same for their own.

You can watch Scandal on Hulu and Disney+.

Netflix

2. The Diplomat

Keri Russell delivers an all-time best performance in The Diplomat (another female-written show, I might add) and it’s just as phenomenal as her other political thriller series The Americans (which also nabbed a spot on this ~exclusive~ list). While not based on a true story, The Diplomat was based on real diplomats to influence Russell’s character of Kate Wyler, a career diplomat who has to juggle her high-profile job and her (not-so-great) marriage to a politician.

The Diplomat is streaming on Netflix.

CBS

3. Madam Secretary

Téa Leoni battles an actual unicorn in her latest film, Death of a Unicorn but in Madam Secretary she battles a very different death – the death of her predecessor. It leads to a new, high-stress job for the qualified Elizabeth McCord, a former CIA analyst, mother of three, and highly valued, newly appointed Secretary of State. Madam Secretary offers a realistic portrayal of the demands of both family and a full-time career in politics, and of course, Leoni kills it in this role.

You can find Madam Secretary streaming on Netflix.

Hulu

4. Paradise

Obviously if you're waiting for season 2, you already know about Paradise. In case you don't, the newest and currently most talked-about show on this list right now, Paradise follows secret service agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) as he investigates the murder of a former president in a seemingly – key word seemingly – peaceful community. The series has only been out for two months and has since then caused theory galore on social media as well as a binging frenzy from audiences. So, if I were you I’d start ASAP to avoid inevitable spoilers on social media!

You can find the full season of Paradise on Hulu.

Netflix

5. House of Cards

Out of all the shows on this list, I’d say this is the most infamous and divisive in nature. It’s no wonder too, as House of Cards explores how the media shapes and distorts narratives. Along with the complex characters and compelling and captivating script, House of Cards is a must-watch.

House of Cards is streaming on Netflix.

CBS

6. The Good Wife

Maybe. Possibly. Nay – the best female empowerment series wrapped in a political drama, The Good Wife follows a woman grappling with massive life changes… that her husband has caused (what’s new?). Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) has long been the devoted wife to a former state's attorney, but after a very humiliating sex and corruption scandal, he’s behind bars, leaving Alicia (much to her dismay) to pick up the pieces.

All 7 seasons of The Good Wife are streaming on Prime Video.

Apple TV+

7. Slow Horses

Slow Horses made tidal waves in the political thriller genre, winning the 2024 Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series and taking the world by storm with its release on Apple TV, with many watchers calling it one of the best shows on TV – yeah, it’s that good. Slow Horses follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve as a dumping ground department of MI5 (the United Kingdom’s security service), due to their career-ending mistakes.

Slow Horses is streaming on Apple TV+.

Netflix

8. Zero Day

Another 2025 political thriller release (are they officially making a comeback?!) – Zero Day stars none other than – get ready for this truly stacked cast – Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Lizzy Caplan, Connie Britton, Angela Bassett, and more. Zero Day is a miniseries, for those of you who want something quick to binge, and you’re thrown into the aftermath of a cyberattack with the President and his team dealing with the outcomes.

The can’t-miss miniseries, Zero Day, is streaming on Netflix.

FX

9. The Americans

The Americans is one of those series you stumble upon while looking for something to watch, and then once you’ve watched, you’re left wondering two things – why you haven’t heard of it before and how something so good can be so criminally underrated. It’s set during the Cold War and after Ronald Reagan has been elected president. You’re taken on a ride with an American couple – our girl, Keri Russell who plays Elizabeth Jennings and Matthew Rhys, who plays Philip. On the surface, they’re a normal couple, but not everything is what it seems (apologies if that reminded you of the Wizards of Waverly Place theme song, I digress). Before long, you find out Elizabeth and Philip are KGB spies – a secret not even their two kids know about.

The Americans is streaming on Hulu and Disney+.

Starz

10. Gaslit

Another criminally underrated series, Gaslit is a modern take on the 1970s political Watergate scandal focusing on the untold stories and forgotten characters of the time. The cast is, candidly, one of the best I’ve ever seen, featuring some of my favorite actors – Julia Roberts, Sean Penn, and Betty Gilpin. If that isn’t enticing enough for you, it has some of the best cinematography I’ve ever seen in a modern show.

Gaslit is available on Apple TV+.
