Kate Hudson Is Pregnant and Expecting a Baby Girl With Danny Fujikawa!

Surprise! Kate Hudson revealed in an Instagram post today that she is pregnant with her third child — her first with boyfriend Danny Fujikawa.

“If you’ve wondered why I’ve been so absent on my social channels it’s because I have never been more sick! It was the most sick first trimester of all my children,” she explained on Instagram. “Boomerangs have made me nauseous, Superzoom is an easy way to have my head in the toilet, food Instagrams make me queasy, and thinking too much about Insta stories made me even more exhausted than I already had been.”

But Hudson returned to Instagram with a bang — or should we say a pop — on Friday to share a video of the moment she and Fujikawa found out they’re having a little girl. As they popped a series of big balloons, a flurry of smaller pink balloons revealed the exciting news as the couple and their friends and family screamed, cheered, and jumped up and down in joy. Yep — we’re totally crying too.

Hudson explained to her followers that the pregnancy sickness has made it hard to “pretend everything is amazing,” but now that she’s finally feeling better, she’s ready to share the news with the world. “We have been trying to keep this pregnancy under the radar for as long as possible but I’m a poppin now!” she wrote. “And it’s too darn challenging to hide, and frankly hiding is more exhausting then just coming out with it! My kids, Danny, myself, and the entire family are crazy excited! A little girl on the way.”

The new baby will join big brothers Ryder, 14, whom Hudson shares with ex-husband Chris Robinson, and, Bingham, 6, whom she shares with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy (of the band Muse). In December, Hudson and Fujikawa celebrated their one-year anniversary. Congrats to the growing family!

When I was pregnant, I was terrified of labor. I heard only the horror stories, but my experience, like many others I later learned, went surprisingly smooth. It was definitely not what I imagined from the movie labor scenes I witnessed, with the OTT screaming and sweating, especially since I chose to get an epidural.

I was soon reading Amy Poehler's Yes, Please! while lying on the delivery table. (Which was actually the perfect book because she talks about her labor fears too). I even took a nap! I felt great. It wasn’t until the last two hours that I had to “push” — which was no picnic, but also you get through it with lots of nursing cheers and partner support — and the immediate feeling after when you finally meet your babe is BLISS.

This is all to say: maybe keep the scary pregnancy stories private if you have them. I always make a point of sharing my positive story with newly expecting moms in hopes that they will worry less when all you can do is wait. I think a good rule of thumb is to be supportive, positive and excited for her/them. Here are 15 things you maybe shouldn’t tell a woman with a baby bump.

Toa Heftiba

1. "Wow, you’re huge!" or "Are you sure it’s not twins?"

Comments about size or weight, whether the person is “too big” or “too small,” can be hurtful. Every pregnancy looks different so put any thoughts about physical attributes to bed.

Yan Krukau

2. "Should you be eating/drinking that?"

Policing someone’s food or drink choices is invasive and unnecessary. Trust that they’re capable of making informed decisions, with their OB/GYN's support, about themselves and their baby.

Vince Fleming

3. "Was it planned?" or "How long did it take?"

Questions about conception are deeply personal and inappropriate unless they choose to share this info with you.

Leah Newhouse

4. "What are you going to name the baby?"

Many couples want to keep the name private until the baby is born and I'll explain why. Because when you do share, people have their own associations with the name and are not afraid to share what they think, even with just a look on their face. We decided to stop telling people we were naming our baby Matilda because we got negative comments. Now all people say when they meet her is how much they love the name. It's all about the person, not the name!

Jessica Rockowitz

5. "Are you returning to work?"

This is a decision a woman can make with her partner and family without the need to share or decide during the pregnancy stage. I decided three months in, after returning to work, that I couldn't manage a new baby and a demanding job and thought my only option was to leave. Turns out, my boss was very accommodating and allowed me to work from home my first year as a new mom. This is a private decision but also so much changes once the baby arrives.

cottonbro studios

6. "Are you hoping for a boy/girl?"

Talking about gender can put unnecessary pressure on the idea of gender preference when the health of the baby is what truly matters.

Pavel Danilyuk

7. "You look tired."

Pregnancy is exhausting, especially during that first trimester. Pointing it out doesn’t help and might make expecting moms feel self-conscious. "Glowing" and "beautiful" are better words for mama-to-be to hear!

Shutterstock

8. "You’ll sleep when the baby sleeps."

Actually, you won't because mom has so many other things to take care of, including herself, when the baby is sleeping. Instead, offer to help watch the baby so she can get some sleep or offer to help run errands. This is so much better than advice that is just not practical!

Jonathan Borba

9. "You're going to have your hands full!"

Pregnancy and parenthood come with plenty of changes, but fear-mongering or negativity isn’t helpful. Everyone’s experience is unique, and making blanket statements like this one is just not useful to new moms.

PNW Production

10. "Enjoy your freedom while it lasts."

Parenthood may change things, but it’s not helpful to imply life ends once the baby arrives. The first year and beyond are so rewarding and can even bring you and your partner even closer. Yes, it's challenging in terms of having free time, but you find so many moments of joy too that you don't really want to be away from your baby!

Febe Vanermen

11. "Can I touch your belly?" (or worse, touching without asking)

Always ask for permission, and don’t take offense if they say no. Personal space and body autonomy is still important.

Ivan Samkov

12. Do you plan to breastfeed?

This is such a personal choice and the question itself comes off as judgmental. Also, some women who plan to breastfeed can't so this is a question better left unasked.

Jeferson Santu

13. "How much weight have you gained?"

Weight-related comments are intrusive and can be offensive. See question one!

Amina Filkins

14. "You’re going to bounce back, right?"

Recovery is personal, and this type of comment pressures new moms to meet unrealistic expectations.

Germs

15. "Is the baby here yet?"

I was a few days late and had several people check in maybe a little too often. I wanted to say, 'You'll know when I know!" Late in pregnancy, this can be frustrating and annoying. We're already counting the days and don’t need reminders!

It might be cuffing season, but for some celeb couples, it's breakup season. In the midst of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck settling their divorce, TMZ reports that Kaia Gerber & Austin Butler have called it quits after dating for 3 years. The Palm Royale and Dune 2 stars were first linked at the end of 2021 when they were spotted headed to a yoga class together. Well, it appears that in 2025, they'll be doing their sun salutations on their own.

Here's everything we know about Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber's break up.

Despite the breakup (which a source says came at the end of 2024), TMZ reports that Kaia Gerber & Austin Butler are on good terms, and that the relationship came to a natural end. The split also explains why Austin didn't join Kaia on her family New Year trip to Cabo San Lucas, despite the fact mom Cindy Crawford, dad Rande Gerber, brother Presley Gerber, and his girlfriend Isabella Jones were all there.

At the start of their relationship, a Peoplesource said that “she seems really happy" and "all of her friends think he's really cute." And as their relationship progressed, Kaia and Austin kept the details of their romance pretty private (similar to Austin's Dune costar Zendaya & recent fiancé Tom Holland), and told WSJ Magazine that “honestly, I feel like so few things in my life are private, and that is one of the things that I try to keep as sacred as possible."

The couple was very close for a long time, and spent “as much time together as they can,” a source told US Weekly. “Although Austin and Kaia are both in the public eye, they’re really down to earth and have a very secure relationship, so they never let jealousy or anything like that get in the way."

They also supported one another's work, with Austin showing up to Paris Fashion Week and Kaia attending The Bikeriders premiere. Hopefully they can still support one another as friends!

Does Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler's breakup surprise you? I'm shocked, TBH. Let us know your thoughts on Instagram!

Sofia Richie really is that girl. Her wedding reigns supreme all over Pinterest, her fashion sense is iconic, and her classy attitude is one people can't help but admire. Now, the It Girl is taking on a new adventure, and we couldn't be more excited for her — she's a first-time mom! She and her husband, Elliot Grainge, confirmed the news to Vogue on January 25, and here's everything you need to know (including little one's gender!).

Sofia Richie Grainge's Daughter Is Already Building Her Communication Skills

Sofia stopped by the Therapuss podcast to chat with host Jake Shane about motherhood and talked about little Eloise's latest development. According to PEOPLE,, Shane revealed, "Eloise has a little baby phone, that we get to text, or I like to text." Though she can't respond just yet, Sofia told listeners that "whoever is with Eloise gets the phone."

Shane then joked about a mini 'heated' exchange he and Eloise had via text. "I said, ‘Eloise do you mind if me and your mommy talk about how perfect you are on the podcast today?’ And she said, ‘No, keep my name out of your mouth.’ And I said, ‘Eloise, excuse me.’ She said, ‘I hate you.'"

Jokes aside, Sofia is embracing being a mother. She told Shane that her "life makes sense now" because she's "never loved anything more." Also, she doesn't mind admitting she's "obsessed with her" and thinks Eloise is "perfect."

How sweet is this?!

Sofia Richie Grainge Shared A Sneak Peek Of Her Daughter

@sofiagrainge/Instagram

Sofia Richie Grainge is soaking up mommy life! She shared the sweetest pics of her family on Instagram and let the world know she wouldn't trade life with them for anything.

She's also keeping true to her word by not fully sharing baby Eloise's face, not that people seem to mind! Lily Collins commented, "😍😍😍😍🥹🥹🥹🥹" while other fans commented on how cute and perfect baby girl is.

All I can is that everyone loves an It Girl turned mom who's fully embracing the family life!

Sofia Richie Grainge Officially Announces Her Daughter's Birth

@sofiagrainge/Instagram

On Friday May 24, 2024, Sofia Richie Grainge announced the birth of her daughter on Instagram. She posted a photo of a tiny little foot, captioned, "Eloise Samantha Grainge 🤍5•20•24 best day of my life🤍"

Obviously family, friends, and fans alike are ecstatic about the news! Sofia's sister Nicole Richie commented, "I now have a new favorite EG. sorry Elliot 🐧💕" Other celeb love came from Lily Collins, Emily Ratajkowski, Ashley Tisdale, Katy Perry, and soooo many more!

We're so happy for this new mom, and we're absolutely wishing she, Elliot, and Eloise the best!

How did Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge find out they were expecting a baby?

Cindy Ord/Getty Images for David Yurman

Sofia Richie told Vogue that she found out the exciting news very early on, at just four weeks. She was on a trip to Milan for Fashion Week for the Prada show (you know, just It Girl things) and felt sick throughout. Though she initially brushed it off as jet lag, she came back and took a test, given that she and her husband had been casually trying since April of 2023.

When that faint line came up, she sent Elliot to CVS and pick up more tests. When they all came positive, the excitement ensued! They decided to only share their news with their parents when they hit the eight-week mark. Sofia was very intentional about her decision to keep things private for a while, as pregnancy can be scary and she wanted to protect her space and mental health.

What is the gender of Sofia Richie Grainge's baby?

Cindy Ord/Getty Images for David Yurman

This "It"-girl is having... a baby "It"-girl! That's right, Sofia Richie is expected a sweet baby girl. She told Vogue that she had her assistant buy party poppers that revealed the gender to her and Elliot. While both soon-to-be parents expected a boy, Richie's dream was to have a daughter. She says that Elliot is excited to be a girl-dad, especially because he grew up with lots of sisters.

Sofia also said that she's already curated quite a wardrobe for her daughter. She explained that since the moment she found out that she was pregnant, she's gone crazy with the online shopping. The vibe is "cute and girly," and she's been collecting pieces for years that she's excited to pass down to her baby one day!

As for the nursery, Sofia says she's all about pastel pinks — her vision is to bring a little girl's fantasy to life!

What kind of mother did Sofia Richie Grainge say she hopes to be?

Cindy Ord/Getty Images for David Yurman

The girl on all our vision boards has her own vision of how she's approaching motherhood. She explained to Vogue that she wants to be a role model for her daughter and raise her to be a smart and kind person. Manners are kindness are things that she really values and things that she says were instilled in her at a young age.

She wants to be her daughter's best friend in a way, and ultimately help guide her through life. TBH, it's giving Lorelai and Rory, and I'm all here for it! Richie recognizes the importance of balance in parenthood, hoping to strike the right blend of being protective without going overboard. She also wants to refrain from publicizing her child and wants her to have the option to be a private person.

How did Lionel and Nicole Richie react to Sofia Richie's pregnancy?

@lionelrichie/Instagram

The famous singer and Sofia's father, Lionel Richie is clearly excited and seems ready to be a grandfather to another baby! He reposted one of Sofia's Vogue pictures with the caption, "My little girl is having a baby!" Nicole Richie also re-posted one of the photos from the shoot with a heart and crying face emoji. I think it's safe to say this baby is being born into a family rich with love!

In the age of prestige TV (hey The Bear!), I have really become a TV person. I love keeping up with the same characters throughout the course of multiple episodes (and in the cast of The Last of Us and The Summer I Turned Pretty, multiple weeks), and then over multiple years. And there are plenty of incredible TV shows premiering and returning in 2025 — and some of these January TV shows have already dropped!

Here are 25 new TV shows we can't wait to see in 2025.

Graeme Hunter/SKY/Carnival

Lockerbie is on Peacock now and stars Colin Firth, Catherine McCormack, Sam Troughton, Mark Bonnar, Ardalan Esmaili, Mudar Abbara, Guy Henry, Nabil Al Raee, and Jemma Carlton.

Small Town Setup — On Hallmark+

Severance Season 2 — On Apple TV+ January 17, 2025

Apple TV+

Relationships and identity will always be timely TV themes (try saying that five times fast), and in Severance season 2, Mark (Adam Scott) running around his office, and running from his problems, in the Severance season 2 teaser trailer is the most relatable thing I've seen. all day. After a full season of his work and personal lives being, well, severed, Mark is in for a lot of surprises this time around. Completely separating your career from the rest of your life might sound ideal, but this January TV show is going to show us why that's simply not the case.

Severance season 2 premieres on January 17, and stars Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, Dichen Lachman, Michael Chernus, Gwendoline Christie, Bob Balaban, Merritt Wever, Alia Shawkat, Robby Benson, Stefano Carannante, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, and John Noble.

Anderson tells TUDUM, "and how all these things make us more grateful for the people who love us."

Sweet Magnolias season 4 premieres February 6 and stars JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott, and Heather Headley.

The White Lotus Season 3 — On HBO and Max February 16, 2025

Fabio Lovino/HBO

White Lotus season 3 is (somehow) spicier than ever before. This year we're headed to Thailand to meet some new characters...and see some familiar faces too. And just like the trailer teases, we're in for a crazy dose of both pain and pleasure.

The White Lotus season 3 premieres February 16 and will star Leslie Bibb, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Blackpink’s Lisa Manobal.

Yellowjackets Season 3 — On SHOWTIME And Paramount+ February 16, 2025

Showtime

This season of Yellowjackets is sure to answer lots of questions — and probably give us even more than we had in the beginning. "How do you change while you are in your core, in your essence, the same person you always were?" creator Ashley Lyle tells Vanity Fair, teasing the merging the characters' past and present selves. "How much are you hiding that, and how long are you able to do that, is a question that we’re playing with this season."

Yellowjackets season 3 premieres February 16 and stars Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Lauren Ambrose, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins, Simone Kessell, Elijah Wood, Joel McHale, and Hilary Swank.

1923 Season 2 — On Paramount+ February 23, 2025

Lo Smith/Paramount+

1923 season 2 is going to be all kinds of chaotic as the Dutton family fights to get back to one another: Jacob and Cara remain on the Yellowstone ranch, Spencer's making his way across the country, and Alex has to figure out a way to get off that dang ship.

1923 season 2 premieres February 23 andthe cast includes Julia Schlaepfer, Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, Brandon Sklenar, Michelle Randolph, Darren Mann, Jerome Flynn, Aminah Nieves, and Isabel May.

The Last of Us Season 2 — On HBO and Max April 2025

HBO

The Last of Us season 2 is going to be more intense, more emotional, and more explosive than ever — especially when Ellie figures out the huge secret Joel's been keeping from her. I'm ready to cry, TBH.

The Last of Us season 2 will star Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, Rutina Wesley, Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, Young Mazino, Spencer Lord, Danny Ramirez, Catherine O'Hara, Jeffrey Wright, Tati Gabrielle and Ariela Barer.

Running Point — On Netflix In 2025

Netflix

In this new TV show, Isla Gordon becomes President of the LA Waves basketball team after a scandal costs her brother the job. And Isla will have to prove to everyone around her that she can balance work AND play (although maybe a little more work than play, ammirite?)

Running Point is coming to Netflix soon and stars Kate Hudson, Brenda Song, Drew Tarver, Scott MacArthur, Fabrizio Guido, Toby Sandeman, Chet Hanks, Max Greenfield, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Roberto Sanchez, Uche Agada, and Dane DiLiegro.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 — On Prime Video In 2025

Peter Taylor/Prime Video

Not only does our third trip to Cousins Beachfeature three extra episodes, but it'll also pick up smack dab in the middle of the Belly-Conrad-Jeremiah love triangle. Here's hoping we're getting a spinoff so we can see these characters as many times as possible!

The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 premieres in 2025 and stars Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, Gavin Casalegno, Sean Kaufman, Rain Spencer, Jackie Chung, and Rachel Blanchard.

Stranger Things Season 5 — On Netflix in 2025

Tina Rowden/Netflix

This year, longtime fans of this series will finally get to see how the story ends. The show is bringing us into 1987 and last time we saw the Hawkins crew, they were face-to-face with the Upside Down infiltrating our world.

Stranger Things 5 is coming to Netflix soon and stars Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Sadie Sink, Maya Hawke, Joe Keery, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Amybeth McNulty, and Priah Ferguson.

The Bear Season 4 — On FX And Hulu In 2025

FX

The Bear season 3, in my opinion, was only the first half of the story. I'm excited to see how season 4 wraps it all up — including the restaurant's review and Carmy's effect on Sydney...

The Bear season 4 is coming to FX in 2025 and stars Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Abby Elliott, and Matty Matheson.

Wednesday Season 2 — On Netflix in 2025

Bernard Walsh/Netflix

Wednesday season 2 is taking us back to Nevermore Academy alongside Jenna Ortega — and Lady Gaga? We don't know much about the plot just yet but this cast is all I need to convince me to watch.

Wednesday season 2 is coming to Netflix soon and stars Jenna Ortega, Lady Gaga, Georgie Farmer, Victor Dorobantu, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nayo, Joy Sunday, Owen Painter, Emma Myers, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Alfred Gough, Noah Taylor, Miles Millar, Tim Burton, Steve Buscemi, Moosa Mostafa, and Hunter Doohan.

Sullivan's Crossing Season 3 — On The CW In 2025

CTV/Fremantle/The CW

Sullivan's Crossing season 2 was full of twists and turns — and season 3 is going to be just as wild (and cozy). “We are so excited to return to Sullivan’s Crossing next year for a third season,” Brad Schwartz, CW's President, tells Deadline. "Roma [Downey], this talented cast, and the entire creative team have built an incredible world full of emotionally charged storytelling that has resonated with viewers over the last two years."

Sullivan's Crossing season 3 is coming in 2025 and stars Morgan Kohan, Chad Michael Murray, and Scott Patterson.

Only Murders In The Building Season 5 — On Hulu Soon

Patrick Harbron/Disney

We don't have an official release date for season 5 yet, but we've gotten a new installment every year since its premiere so I'm feeling hopeful! This year Mabel, Oliver, and Charles will have to solve Chester's murder (I'M HEARTBROKEN) and might even deal with some mob bosses.

Only Murders in the Building season 5 is coming soon and stars Selena Gomez, Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Téa Leoni.

Virgin River Season 7 — On Netflix Soon

Netflix

If you've already binged all of Virgin River season 6, don't worry — there's another season coming! And showrunner Patrick Sean Smith says it'll “explore the honeymoon phase for them as they’re building their lives on the farm, which can come with its own obstacles.”

Virgin River season 7 is coming soon and stars Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Annette O'Toole, Tim Matheson, Colin Lawrence, Kandyse McClure, Sarah Dugdale, and Kai Bradbury.

Nobody Wants This Season 2 — On Netflix Soon

Saeed Adyani/Netflix

Nobody Wants This became an immediate classic when it premiered in 2024, and we can't wait to see Noah and Joanne navigate their relationship and family drama in season 2.

Nobody Wants This season 2 is coming to Netflix soon and stars Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Stephanie Faracy, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Michael Hitchcock, Jackie Tohn, Sherry Cola, Shiloh Bearman, and Emily Arlook.
