Kate Middleton’s Stylist Dishes the Surprisingly Easy Secret to Getting Rich Girl Hair

Aside from being a Huffington Post guest editor and all-around royal #girlboss, Kate Middleton is also a style icon. The fact that she’s married to the future King of England and has two of the cutest royal babies ever is just a bonus (psst, have you seen the adorable royal family’s winter vacay pics?). We are really all about her impeccable style and, of course, her trendsetting tresses. But apparently, getting that gorgeous Duchess hair isn’t just the stuff of fairytales. It’s actually quite attainable! Middleton’s personal hairdresser, Richard Ward, has given the goods on how she gets that perfect “rich girl hair.”

All it takes is a great blow dry. “If you’re after expensive-looking hair like Kate’s, the key is the blow dry,” the stylist says in an interview with The Daily Mail. “You’re never going to get rich girl hair without a good blow dry.” And getting it trimmed regularly is also super important, even more so than products, he says. “Products are part of it, but if you don’t know the basics and invest the time, you’ll never have the right look.”

However, this doesn’t mean you have to go to the salon every six weeks (a major haircare myth.) He recommends getting it cut about four times a year to keep it healthy. “Statistically, women in general are coming to the hairdresser twice a year less than they used to,” Ward said. “This is down to economic reasons, the fact that products are better than they used to be, and also because we’re better at doing our hair at home than ever before.” Which product should you use at home between trims? Ward recommends an Argan oil elixir to keep your hair nice and shiny.

Don’t forget to cleanse your tresses! “You will never get rich girl hair without washing it,” Ward reminds us. He also recommends using a good hairdryer with a nozzle to blow dry your locks while they’re still soaking wet from the shower. “The wetter, the better,” he says. And for you all flatiron addicts, you may want to take a break. Ward says you shouldn’t use them that often if you want the Kate Middleton look.

The world paused when we discovered The Princess of Wales — Kate Middleston — was battling cancer last year. She wasn't as present for public events throughout the majority of the year, focusing on her healing first and foremost. For those of us who have seen how it affects loved ones, it's such a debilitating disease that takes a toll on a person's overall wellbeing. However, Kate Middleton announced she's officially in remission!

Here's everything we know about Kate Middleton's exciting health update — including how her cancer's officially in remission!

Kate Middleton made her surprise remission announcement on X earlier today. She penned a moving post that shed light on her experience. At the beginning of her post, Kate shared she'd received treatment at the Royal Marsden where she has a "new role as Joint Patron." She also stated they received stellar "care and advice," eventually revealing that "it is a relief to now be in remission."

Kate wrote, "My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything. We couldn’t have asked for more."

BBCreported the Princess of Wales visited other patients to speak with them and offer words of encouragement. She revealed cancer's not easy to navigate. "It's really tough... It's such a shock... Everyone said to me, 'please keep a positive mindset, it makes such a difference.'"

She also shed light on how she's doing now that she's in remission. "You think the treatment has finished and you can crack on and get back to normal, but that's still a real challenge," she said while further touching on the "more long-term side effects" of chemotherapy.

For her, "it's hard to get back to normal," but she's willing to try. She said she's "focused on recovery" and is "looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead."

And as for Prince William? A few days ago, he shared a beautiful picture of Kate on Instagram to celebrate her. He wrote, "To the most incredible wife and mother. The strength you’ve shown over the last year has been remarkable. George, Charlotte, Louis and I are so proud of you. Happy Birthday, Catherine. We love you. W."

We hope Kate Middleton continues to recover so she can enjoy a great 2025 with her loved ones!

With the help of my Ninja Espresso machine, I've whipped up everything from a cinnamon sugar to a matcha latte, and they've been frighteningly good coming from someone who rarely drinks coffee.

Iced Caramel & Cinnamon Sugar Latte

This was my first successful attempt at making an at-home latte recipe and it's easily become my favorite thing to drink in the morning. A ton of trial and error was involved, but I've perfected the amount of ingredients I like to use so it's super easy to make.

Ingredients:

3 Teaspoons Cinnamon Sugar

2-3 Teaspoons of Nescafé Gold Espresso Blonde, Instant Coffee

Ghiradelli Premium Caramel Sauce

Caramel Syrup (any brand works!)

Unsweetened Original Almond Milk (I Prefer Silk)

A mini hand frother (if you don't have an espresso machine at home)

Ice

Steps:

Drizzle caramel sauce in your glass of choice and add ice to it.
Using a separate, smaller cup, scoop in cinnamon sugar and Nescafe' Gold Espresso Blonde. Pour in a small amount of unsweetened almond milk and use a handheld frother to mix them together. Set aside once done.
Take the same unsweetened almond milk and pour in a few oz. to the glass you drizzled caramel sauce in.
Pour your cinnamon sugar, milk and, Nescafé Gold Espresso Blonde mixture into it.

Does strawberry and caramel really go together? If you ask this delicious latte, they do! I actually used the same ingredients from my Caramel & Cinnamon Sugar Latte outside of using strawberry syrup instead of caramel! The only tip I have is to avoid being heavy-handed with how much you use because it can be unbearable sweet if you're not eyeing it. Two pumps at the most should do the trick!

Kate Middleton's "Remarkable" Birthday Tribute Celebrates Her "Strength" Following Cancer Battle

Kate Middleton has been top of mind for a lot of people over the last year after the princess announced in March 2024 she was battling cancer. "The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown," she shared in a video update. "This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved." And in honor of Kate's 43rd birthday, Prince William posted the sweetest tribute honoring her strength and perseverance.

Kate Middleton turned 43 on January 9, 2025. In honor of the big day, Prince William took to Instagram to celebrate, praising his "incredible" wife.

"To the most incredible wife and mother. The strength you’ve shown over the last year has been remarkable," he says in the post. "George, Charlotte, Louis and I are so proud of you. Happy Birthday, Catherine. We love you. W."

And well wishers flooded the comments. "Happy Birthday Catherine, wishing you a wonderful year ahead surrounded by family and loved ones," one user says, while another adds, "Happy Birthday Princess of Wales! What a gorgeous photo. Wishing you a wonderful year 😍 xx"

And the tribute comes after revealing Kate was doing "amazing" following her cancer battle.

The birthday celebration comes after the prince shared an update on Kate in early November that had us all breathing a sigh of relief. “She's doing really well thanks. And hopefully, she is watching tonight. So cheering me on," he said before the Earthshot Prize awards (via People). “She's been amazing this whole this whole year. I know she will be really keen to see tonight be a success."

"From what I understand, Catherine is doing very well," royal author Robert Jobson added in an interview withHello!that same week. "She is back training at the gym and doing all the things she wanted to do."

Sydney Sweeney broke the internet when she announced she'd postponed her engagement. And when she clapped back at her bikini body haters. And when she went topless on Instagram. But her recent Instagram post from filming The Housemaid just broke our Brit + Co group chat because of just how many times Brandon Sklenar appeared — and one very specific video that had us squealing.

Throughout Sydney Sweeney's newest Instagram post, which she calls "a very very late jan x feb photo dump," she posts some reunions with Euphoria costars Maude Apatow and Barbie Ferrera and behind the scenes from The Housemaid (where she stars opposite Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar).

I couldn't help but notice that Brandon shows up multiple times in the photo carousel: a selfie while he, Sydney, and a couple other women wear racing helmets, a photo in an arcade, and then a video where they're trying out a TikTok trend.

In the video, Brandon lifts Sydney up to sit on his shoulders while Rihanna's "Breakin' Dishes" plays in the background. They do more than a couple attempts until they get the video just right — and that includes lots of giggles from Syd, and a moment where she almost falls off his back.

"we love costars with chemistry," one X user says, while another adds, "They look so cute together."

Although, my goodness, if a man lifted me onto his shoulder that easily, I'd be in a fit of giggles too! (Although his strength makes sense given his upcoming role in The Olympian).

A third X user wonders whether the video is just a marketing strategy to drum up conversation — especially after Sydney confirmed all that chemistry with Glen Powell during Anyone But You was literally just to get the internet in a tizzy.

"I wanted to make sure that we were actively having a conversation with the audience as we were promoting this film," she told The New York Times. "Because at the end of the day, they’re the ones who created the entire narrative."

"Once [the movie] did become a success, a lot of the interviews were just questions about [the rumors], so I don’t know if we necessarily were planning on ever talking about the strategy behind any of it," she added in a conversation with Vanity Fair. "We just had very specific questions and when you say no to a question, people think that you’re a b—ch, so."
