All the Hidden Meanings Behind Kate Middleton’s Royal Tour Outfits

We always love to see what Kate Middleton wears when she travels. Her schedule is packed with events that call for her signature polished looks, sometimes three in a day. Her trip to Poland and Germany with the whole family was no different. The Duchess of Cambridge showed off her style in a mix of British, Polish, and German designers for the diplomatic trip. In addition to a little more fashion risk taking, many of her looks have subtle symbolism and hidden meanings as well. Let’s explore her stylish week abroad!

1. Arriving in Poland in Alexander McQueen: It’s no accident the family (well, besides Prince George, who had pops of red in his patterned shirt) coordinated in red and white looks. The Polish flag and national colors are red and white, and Middleton’s beautiful jewelry and red clutch, Charlotte’s Dress, and Prince William’s tie are all nods to the national hue.

2. A Cocktail Party Honoring Queen Elizabeth’s Birthday in Gosia Baczyńska: Continuing her summer 2017 staple of the LWD, Middleton wore an architectural look by Polish designer Gosia Baczyńska. We don’t often see her in edgy designs (or low necklines!), but here she wears the sign of respect to the host country well.

3. A Day Touring Polish Sights Near Gdansk in Erdem Separates: This day’s agenda mixed solemn visits, like a tour of Sutthof concentration camp, and lighter activities like a liquor tasting. Middleton wore one of her favorite British designers while carrying a clutch by Polish designer Etui, and not for the first time. If you look closely and catch a glimpse of The Duchess’s necklace, you’ll see it’s made of Baltic amber, a material that makes up a big portion of business in the city they were visiting, Gdansk.

4. The Catherine Walker Blue Dress for the Royal Family’s Germany Arrival: Middleton sported another British designer in a symbolic and pretty blue hue. Now for a little history! Before Germany was the country it is today, it was made up of many kingdoms; one of them was Prussia. This blue color was a pigment developed in Berlin in the early 1700s, at the time called Berlin Blue or Prussian Blue. It soon became the color of the Prussian and other German territory Army uniforms, all the way up until WWI. You might know the color better as cornflower blue, which also has German historical significance. The cornflower is the national flower of Germany. The story goes that Queen Louisa of Prussia fled Berlin when Napoleon came to occupy the territory. She hid her children in a field of cornflowers to save them, so it seems appropriate that Prince William and the kids are also dressed in this color. Depending on who you ask, people might say the blue is royal blue, a color with decidedly British roots. We’ll referee and say it’s both.

5. German Celebration for Queen Elizabeth’s Birthday in a Red Alexander McQueen Dress: Middleton made another rare fashion move here and wore a very of-the-moment off-the-shoulder silhouette. She paid tribute to Germany here both in the color — it’s one of the three colors of the German flag — and in its design. The Alexander McQueen dress is British designed but resembles elements of the traditional Bavarian dirndl in its detailing. It’s a subtle nod to the heritage of the host country.

6. A Day Full of Activities in a Yellow Jenny Packham Look: The Duchess wore one of her British favorites for a day seeing sights all around Heidelberg that included visiting a lab, then heading off to pretzel and candy making. Again, it’s no accident that she’s sporting one of the colors of the German flag in this custom look. Although she covered up the dress with a lab coat and apron at times, the marigold color managed to shine through.

7. A Boat Race in Hugo Boss: Even in this casual look, Middleton manages a subtle nod to Germany by wearing Hugo Boss, one of the country’s most famous fashion names.

8. A Creative Industries Reception in Markus Lupfer: Here, Middleton continues to wear more trend-forward cocktail looks, and she’s doing it in a London-based designer who was born in Germany. The look, that has since sold out (big surprise), features an artsy print that is perfect for this reception celebrating creative professionals.

9. Visiting Hamburg and Saying Goodbye to Germany in a Lavender Emilia Wickstead Outfit: The red clutch by British designer Anya Hindmarch is possibly another nod to the German flag. Middleton’s purple dress by the New Zealand-born, London-based designer is thought to be a softer mirror to her husband’s “royal” purple tie. Prince George and Princess Charlotte joined their parents in coordinating outfits to check out some aircrafts and have a family sendoff to the country.

Now, the family is headed back to the UK to celebrate Prince George’s fourth birthday. In the meantime, we can’t wait to see what the Duchess of Cambridge wears next!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no strangers to tabloids, the internet, and any and all fascination with their private life. The couple dealt with the press long before they got married in 2018, but that doesn't mean they're thrilled about it. During a December 4 conversation with New York Times columnist and Dealbook founder Andrew Ross Sorkin in New York City, Harry (the son of King Charles and the latePrincess Diana, and the younger brother of Prince William) revealed how he really feels about the obsession with his relationship and his family.

Keep reading to see what Prince Harry actually thinks about all the rumors surrounding his relationship with Meghan Markle.

Yeah, Prince Harry finds the divorce rumors really confusing.

"No, [it's] definitely not a good thing," he says when asked if he considers the "interest" in his life positive. "Apparently we've bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it's just like, what?'"

Even celebs like Chris Evans and Alba Baptista have had to dodge divorce rumors recently but 10 to 12 different rumors?! That's insane. The most recent divorce rumors came when Meghan Markle showed up solo to both the Children's Hospital LA Gala on October 5 and the Highbrow Hippie haircare launch on November 14, while it was announced Harry will host a charity event without Meghan on December 10. Naturally, the internet had a field day.

And the public's obsession with Harry and Meghan's relationship has directly affected their health.

"It's hard to keep up with, but that's why you just sort of ignore it," Prince Harry continues. "The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls," he continued. "Their hopes are just built and built, and it's like, 'Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,' and then it doesn't happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do."

WHAT! That's a pretty positive outlook. I don't know if I'd be that generous, TBH. Anyone who kept up with Harry and Meghan's Royal Wedding will remember the consistent criticism around Meghan's skin and behavior, and in their Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, the couple revealed they went through so much stress surrounding the press, they believed it resulted in Meghan miscarrying a child.

"I’ve had a lived experience since I was a kid. I’ve seen stories written about myself that aren’t exactly based on reality. I’ve seen stories about members of my family, friends, strangers, all sorts of people," Prince Harry told Andrew. “And I think when you grow up within that environment, you do find yourself questioning the validity of the information but also what other people are thinking of that as well, and how dangerous it can be over the course of time."

What do you think about Harry's comments, and about the public obsession with Harry and Meghan? Let us know on Facebook, and if you're looking for more news on the Royal Family, read up on why Kate Middleton's "Amazing" Cancer Update From Prince William Has Us Breathing A Sigh Of Relief.

Dunkin’s winter menu for 2025 is lookin’ pretty sweet. Seriously – per recent menu leaks, 3 out of 5 new drinks (allegedly) coming to the menu are inspired by cake. Since there’s little I love more than a good, decadent dessert (other than coffee, of course), I’m especially excited about this speculated lineup!

The Dunkin’ winter menu leaks also report one sweet snack and an iced espresso drink that are both hauntingly similar to what Starbucks has to offer. Is the competition heating up, or is it just me?

Rumor has it that the Dunkin’ winter menu will drop on December 31, just ahead of the new year. This new menu leak is not to be confused with Dunkin's holiday menu, which dropped on November 1.

Let’s officially get into it. Here’s everything rumored to join the Dunkin’ menu this December to start 2025 off just right!

Drinks On The Leaked Dunkin' Winter Menu

@snackolator

NEW! Lava Cake Signature Latte

Lava Cake Swirl flavoring, whipped cream, mocha drizzle, and hot chocolate powder. Now that's a mouthful! That's exactly how this new rumored drink is built – with tons and tons of chocolate. If you've got a strong sweet tooth, start marking your calendar for December 31 (AKA when the Dunkin' winter menu is rumored to drop).

@snackolator

NEW! Lava Cake Coffee

Dunkin' is also rumored to feature the new Lava Cake Swirl flavoring in this creamy coffee. It looks like it'll be available to order hot or iced!

@snackolator

Brown Sugar Shakin' Espresso

Um, Starbucks dupe, anyone?! Dunkin's version of the famed Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso is rumored to follow a very similar recipe to the Starbies way: espresso (shaken until frothy), brown sugar syrup, and oat milk. I can't wait to try this one and see how it measures up to my routine Starbucks order.

Dunkin'

Brown Sugar Oat Iced Matcha Latte

Per menu leaks, it also appears Dunkin' will offer two new in-app exclusive drinks, the first being the Brown Sugar Oat Iced Matcha Latte. It's like your average iced matcha latte, amped up with some brown sugar syrup and oat milk. Yum.

@snackolator

Raspberry Lava Cake Coffee

The second in-app exclusive drink on the leaked Dunkin' winter menu is the Raspberry Lava Cake Coffee, which features a dose of Lava Cake Swirl alongside a raspberry flavor shot and cream. You'll be able to order this one hot or iced.

Food On The Leaked Dunkin' Winter Menu

@snackolator

NEW! Whoopie Pie Specialty Donut

Now, onto the good stuff. The Dunkin' winter menu leak suggests that a new donut is on the way! The Whoopie Pie Specialty Donut will feature a halved glazed chocolate cake donut that's filled with vanilla whipped buttercreme icing and topped with a cute lil' buttercreme rosette.

Dunkin'

Iced Lemon Loaf Cake

Okay, yet another Starbucks similarity! The menu leak speculates this zesty-sweet snack will return on December 31. Dunkin's Iced Lemon Loaf Cake is moist as can be, and is topped with a thick layer of lemon icing.

More Leaked Dunkin' Menu Items

Dunkin'

Dunkin' Valentine's Donuts

The menu leak that announced the Dunkin' winter menu for 2025 also dropped some hints about the chain's Valentine's Day offerings.

According to the leak, the Brownie Batter (pictured above) and Cupid's Choice donuts will return on January 29. What's even more exciting is that a new iteration of Dunkin's Munchkins will be available, too!

The new Valentine's Munchkins will reportedly be made from glazed chocolate donut holes coated in Valentine's-esque sprinkles. I'm craving them already!

After revealing her cancer diagnosis back in March, Kate Middleton just announced she's finally finished her nine-month long chemotherapy treatment. Instead of releasing a written statement or an Instagram post, Middleton shared an emotional, gorgeous video featuring her entire family. It's a serene celebration of her loving family as they take the next steps in her cancer journey together. Here's what the Princess of Wales said.

  • Kate Middleton announced her cancer diagnosis in March 2024 after stepping back from public life.
  • She also says she has "a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life" after completing chemotherapy.
  • And royal author Robert Jobson says she's "doing very well" as we enter the holiday 2024 season!

What's the latest update on Kate Middleton?

Kate Middleton has finished chemotherapy and it appears she's doing "very well," which we're so thankful for! "From what I understand, Catherine is doing very well," royal author Robert Jobson says in an interview withHello!. "She is back training at the gym and doing all the things she wanted to do."

After Kate stepped back from public view, and the internet went crazy over her supposed disappearance, Robert seems to feel confident she's ready to reenter public life. "I do think that we will start to see a lot more of her, and that she will carry out engagements as well as continuing to work behind the scenes," he says.

Prince William also offered a look into Kate's recovery journey before the Earthshot Prize awards on November 6, telling British journalists (via People) that “She's doing really well thanks. And hopefully, she is watching tonight. So cheering me on.”

“She's been amazing this whole this whole year," he continues. "I know she will be really keen to see tonight be a success."

We're sending Kate Middleton and the rest of the Royal Family so much love!

This three minute video packs in a lot of love — and a lot of life – after such a grim circumstance for the beloved royal family. Middleton opens with what a relief it is to announce that she's finished her chemo treatment, and continues by explaining, "The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown."

The Princess of Wales elaborates that cancer is "complex, scary, and unpredictable," especially for friends and family. She says, ""This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved."

Middleton says that her main goal is to remain cancer-free, and continue on her long healing journey. She plans to "each day as it comes," while also hoping to join some public engagements in the future. She says, "Despite all that has gone before, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life."

The Princess wraps up her statement by saying that she and Prince William are "grateful" for everyone's enduring support, noting that the overall graciousness and kindness has been "truly humbling." She says, "To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright."

Clive Brunskill/Getty Images

Throughout her contemplative statement, the video features gorgeous shots of the entire family out in nature, splashing through the beach, walking through a nature trail, and just generally being together. With three grown, yet still young, children, this family vibrancy resonates deeply, reminding us all to hold those we love closely.

We're so thrilled for Princess Kate, and the entire family, on this incredible health milestone, and we continue to wish them well!

When did Kate Middleton get cancer?

Kate Middleton officially announced her cancer diagnosis back in March of 2024. The Princess never explicitly stated what kind of cancer she's battling, only that she was in the midst of a thorough treatment plan.

Back in January of that same year, Middleton underwent abdominal surgery that many assume is associated with the diagnosis at hand. After the described "successful" surgery, Kensington Palace stated that Middleton wished that her "personal medical information" remained "private." They further explained that the public would get updates "when there is significant new information to share."

The next update we received was the March video, explaining Princess Kate's cancer diagnosis, leading us to believe that each incident is tied together.

Regardless, it's great to hear that the Princess of Wales has officially completed her chemotherapy treatment as of today!

The best part of taking a shower, other than getting clean, of course, is all the delicious scents. From shampoo and conditioner to body scrubs, nothing truly compares to a good-smelling body wash. I recently discovered Lush’s amazing Sticky Dates shower gel, and I don’t think I can ever go back to bar soap now. These best-smelling body washes smell just as great in the shower as they do outside of it, and are sure to earn you tons and tons of compliments – all while treating your skin so nicely.

Check out our top picks for the best-smelling body wash below!

Lush

Lush Sticky Dates Shower Gel

This shower gel from Lush is undeniably sweet-smelling. I think it smells like straight-up dessert – I had to fight off the intrusive thoughts to eat it when I was in the store checking it out (don't judge, okay?). It lathers up luxuriously, and always feels nourishing and hydrating on my skin. It's formulated with organic date syrup, sandalwood oil, and orange juice to properly cleanse off your bod. I already know I'm going to buy a bigger bottle once my sample size one runs out!

Promising review: "The scent of this body wash is sooo mouthwatering. I love the light lather and the soft scent left on the skin after rinsing off. Definitely worth the hype!"

Target

Saltair Seascape Serum Body Wash

You won't be able to stop sniffing this heavenly body wash. It smells spot-on to a dreamy island getaway! I love this formula in particular because it's crafted with hyaluronic acid, which helps add even more moisture to the skin. Extra points to this body wash since the bottle's so cute!

Promising review: "Oh man. Boy do I love this scent. Reminds of the fresh smell of the sea when I visit the Carribbean Islands. Im just in a trance when I'm in the shower."

Amazon

OUAI St. Barts Body Cleanser

If there's one thing OUAI absolutely nails, it's their scents. From their hair oil to shampoo, I fall in love with the products over and over again after every use. Their body wash is no exception, especially this one in the scent St. Barts. You get a little bit of every note: floral dragonfruit, orange blossom, and tuberose, plus a nice gourmand dose of and Baltic amber that feels oh-so sophisticated. The formula is made with jojoba oil, which expertly hydrates the skin, deep down. Dreamy!

Promising review: "I’ve been using the OUAI Body Cleanser for a few weeks now, and it has become a staple in my shower routine. The first thing that drew me in was the scent—it’s light, fresh, and lingers subtly on the skin without being overpowering. It makes showering feel like a mini-spa experience."

Amazon

Nécessaire The Body Wash

For a fancy(ish) body wash that smells downright divine, reach for this one from Nécessaire. It's packed with eucalyptus, which is uber-refreshing for a nice wake up call in the AM! The body wash is boosted with plenty of lipid-rich oils and niacinamide, which can help strengthen the skin's natural barrier.

Promising review: "I have very sensitive skin but I also really like things that smell good! After reading reviews I decided to give this a try. My skin didn’t react to this at all (yay!!) and the smell is great! Super relaxing and perfect for after a long day. The bottle came well packed inside its own box - this was great because it didn’t leak or anything. The bottle is also really big so I think with cleaner ingredients & great smell it’s worth it!"

Target

Olay Cleansing & Firming Body Wash

If you're in love with clean scents, this body wash from Olay delivers. Not only does it smell so fresh and so clean, it's heavy on skincare benefits. The formula includes collagen and a vitamin B3 complex that nourishes for "beautiful, healthy-looking skin."

Promising review: "My new go-to body wash! I so love the smell! I felt so luxurious and soft after each use!"

Sephora

L'Occitane Cleansing & Softening Shea Shower Oil

Though it's not technically a body wash, this shower oil still lathers up gorgeously to cleanse your skin. Its main ingredients are shea oil and shea butter, which nourish the skin like no other, leaving it as soft as can be. Dry skin-havers will fall in love with this one!

Promising review: "Ten stars. One of my absolute favorite shower indulgences. This smells amazing. A warm, soft musk scent that lingers long after your shower is over. It leaves my skin feeling brand new, so soft and super smooth. I absolutely love going to bed with this scent on my pajamas and even waking up the next day to get dressed and still feeling so soft and smelling pretty. Not a strong scent whatsoever. A very soft, musk like skin scent."

Amazon

Aesop A Rose by Any Other Name Body Cleanser

You've likely never smelled a body wash like this one before. It combines notes of rose petal, cardamom, and black pepper for a punchy, yet floral-heavy scent. The aroma can come off as super saturated upon first impression, so a little goes a long way.

Promising review: "I love the Aesop products because I have very dry skin and am allergic to perfume soaps. After many trials and errors with other products this was recommended and I love it ! Worth every penny. Wish it also came in travel size because the hotel soap bars don't measure up."

Target

Dove Shea Butter & Vanilla Pampering Body Wash

Forget all the frills and fancy stuff – sometimes a basic vanilla scent works the best! This gentle body wash is friendly on all skin types and boasts the perfect balance of shea butter and warm vanilla for an uplifting shower experience each time. Your skin will look instantly cleaner, fresher, and more moisturized!

Promising review: "My favorite body wash!! It smells amazing and is so affordable. The scent really lingers."

Amazon

Method Pure Peace Body Wash

If I had to compare this body wash to anything, it'd be Glossier's signature Glossier You perfume. It smells sooo good. The mix of floral peony and pungent pink salt just work together so well! The clean formula is gentle on the skin and always leaves it feeling noticeably soft and moisturized.

Promising review: "One of the standout aspects of this body wash is its formula. It’s paraben- and phthalate-free, which is reassuring for those with sensitive skin or anyone conscious about the ingredients in their skincare products. The wash lathers well, providing a luxurious feel while gently cleansing without stripping the skin of its natural moisture. My skin felt clean and hydrated after use, which is a big plus."
