Kate Winslet Still Goes By This Nickname Jack Black Gave Her During 'The Holiday'

Not only is The Holiday one of the best Christmas movies of all time, but it's also one of the best movies, period. It's super romantic and cozy, but I've also been dreaming about its picture perfect locations since I saw Iris' cottage for the very first time. Kate Winslet just rewatched some scenes from the movie and revealed that Jack Black gave her a nickname on the set of the movie she still goes by!

"It was all just great fun, they're all lovely people," Kate Winslet tells Vanity Fair. "And Cameron [Diaz'] whole thing ever in life is 'How can I have the most fun possible?' So she's constantly laughing, she's constantly joking. And Jack, of course, he just does something different every take."

While rom-coms don't usually have space for improv since the movie relies on specific timing, Kate says the actor always found a way to keep everyone on their toes. "[It's] eternally refreshing," she continues. "I was always really grateful for that."

However, not only did Jack find a way to ad-lib some of his lines, but he also started a set trend that Kate Winslet follows to this day! "My onset nickname to this day is K-Dub...and Jack started it," she reveals. "That is my name, everyone at work just calls me K-Dub."

Kate admits she'd love to work with Jack Black "again and again and again," which is a sentiment he shares as well. During the press tour for Kung Fu Panda 4, he talked about how Kate Winslet is his favorite costar of all time. "When you look in her eyes, she was, like, really present," he tells Entertainment Tonight. "And I feel like if you look into my eyes, you just see a shadow of a robot."

Yes, there's a new Hallmark Christmas movie called Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story. While the plot isn't directly about Taylor and Travis, it's no surprise we're getting a KC Chiefs movie after the team got so much love last year!

In the movie, Alana Higman is confident she'll win the Kansas City Chiefs' "Fan of the Year" contest — until her grandpa's vintage Chiefs hat (and his good luck charm) goes missing. Director of Fan Engagement Derrick is tasked with evaluating Alana's team spirit and as they spend time together, they start to realize love for the Chiefs might be the least important thing they have in common.

Popeye's signature seasoning brings that authentic Louisiana flair to their chicken sandwich – a spice that I find most other fast food chicken sandwiches are missing! This chicken sandwich absolutely ranks first for me. The spice works really well against their always-tender chicken fillet that's coated in an outstandingly crunchy breadcrumb coat. Having these crunchy bits is extremely crucial for me, since they provide textural variety, keeping each bite fun and interesting.

Raising Cane's

Raising Cane's: 4/5

I gotta say that the Cane's sauce earns their chicken sandwich a ton of brownie points. It's downright addicting, and I refuse to listen to the haters that say otherwise! Raising Cane's' chicken sandwich features three chicken strips among a layer of lettuce and sauce – and though simple in construction, I find it's really complex in flavor. Of course, you have to hand it to the sauce for carrying all those flavors, so without it, I don't think I'd rate it as highly. Nonetheless, I grant it 4 out of 5 stars.

Chick-fil-A

Chick-fil-A: 3/5

Though The Original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich is just chicken, pickles, and a bun, it's one of the most impressive fast food offerings out there. I mean, you can't really go wrong with CFA's chicken – they've mastered it! I love how buttery the bun on this sammie is, though I always wish for more pickles (a girl's gotta have her pickles). What really makes this sammie shine is getting to customize its flavor with one (or a few) of Chick-fil-A's sauces. I am a huge fan of the Polynesian sauce, but have also found success with honey mustard and straight-up ranch dressing. You do you!

Sonic

Sonic: 3/5

Sonic's chicken sandwich is a true underdog in my opinion. It's got crispy chicken, lettuce, pickles, and mayo all squeezed between a plump brioche bun. The only catch with this one is it tastes best when it's fresh. Waiting to eat it at home isn't worth it, since oftentimes, I've ended up with a very soggy sandwich. I think the chicken is appropriately seasoned, though it's nothing over-the-top. If a Popeye's or Chick-fil-A isn't remotely close, this is the fast food chicken sammie I opt for. I do love that there's a good amount of other toppings on it (they don't skimp on the pickles like Chick-fil-A does, a measly 2 is not enough)!

Wendy's

Wendy's: 2/5

Ranking very last is Wendy's chicken sandwich. Now, don't get me wrong, I love Wendy's, but mostly for their fries and Frostys (of course). Their chicken sandwich is pretty mid-tier considering all of their other menu items like chili and salads, though it's not horrible. What earns it extra points is all its toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mayo add some variety into the mix, doctoring up their very 'meh' (and very bland) chicken patty.

Lauren Graham Just Posted The Sweetest Mini 'Gilmore Girls' Reunion

Emily and Lorelai Gilmore might not always get along the best, but Lauren Graham and Kelly Bishop are best friends IRL. "She doesn't have biological children and she always says, 'I'm your TV mom,'" Lauren said while promoting Have I Told You This Already?. "[When we text], she signs TVM and I'm TVD, and we've just been really special people for each other."

Well our favorite TVM and TVD just had the sweetest reunion, and I hope they invite me next time!

Lauren Graham and Kelly Bishop met up for a lunch date — Lauren wearing a blue coat Lorelai would totally approve of and Kelly wearing a beautiful silver choker. In true Gilmore girl fashion, they're both wearing big black (and sassy!) sunglasses.

"Here’s to the ladies who lunch," Lauren says in the Instagram caption.

Fans were just as excited to see Lauren and Kelly reunited, and flooded the comments with sweet messages.

"When Friday night dinners turn into Friday lunches," one comment jokes. "Hope you both had two glasses of wine."

This isn't the first time Lauren Graham has posted about Lorelai. "I smelled snow but then spoiler alert it melted," she says in another post, while she also recently posted about an old TV Guide teasing a shocker for Lorelai.

I am loving all these Instagram throwbacks and I hope she continues to post them — especially when we get closer to Gilmore Girls rewatch season.

'My Lady Jane' Stars Edward Bluemel & Emily Bader Spilled On The Scenes That Made Them LOL

Pretending to be sick to get out of something is a tale as old as time according to Prime Video's My Lady Jane. At the end of the new TV show's pilot, Emily Bader's Jane Grey fakes an illness to get out of her arranged marriage (a move that is honestly inspiring). So, naturally, when I talked to the cast at the 2024 Tribeca Festival, I immediately asked about when they had faked an illness.

"You know what," Edward Bluemel says. "One I did [pretend to be sick] to get out of an audition that I just really, really knew I wasn't gonna get and was too scared [to try] — a moment of cowardice, if you will."

Emily Bader also weighed in, admitting that when she was younger, "there could have been some nurse visits without proper cause back in elementary...high school...all the schools."

"But look, school's tough," she jokes. "Being Queen? Getting married? Tougher. But we all got our struggles."

One particular struggle for both Emily Bader and Edward Bluemel during My Lady Jane was getting through their scenes without laughing. There are so many witty one-liners and quippy conversations that had me LOL'ing, and there's one costar both leads admit made them laugh more than others: Rob Brydon.

"I was, like, fully laughing in most of the takes," Edward says of working with his onscreen dad. "He's an amazing comedic actor, he's an improviser, he will constantly do things slightly differently, he'll constantly mess with the script. He had us all laughing and being very, very unprofessional while trying to get through quite serious scenes."

"He is so brilliant," Emily says. "He's hard to do a scene [with] cause he's really funny."
