It may be nearly impossible to top Kate Middleton’s appearance on the Vogue 100: A Century of Style cover, but Kendall Jenner is willing to give it a shot. As this year’s cover girl for Vogue’s famous September issue, Kendall (who may be used to high fashion but could totally pull off these totally-affordable Target picks) is making it clear that she’s still very much the top model of the moment.

When you get your hands on the 2016 Vogue September issue (*drools with expectation*), you’ll see Kendall staring back at you in a matador-inspired Gucci ensemble with the headline, “Generation K: Kendall Jenner — The Face That Launched a Billion Likes”
Kendall herself posted a pic of the cover on Instagram with the heartfelt caption, “in a room with a bunch of people I love, looking at this cover made me cry. I FUCKING DID IT. SEPTEMBER VOGUE. this is the coolest thing ever! can’t thank you enough Anna, for giving me the honor…”
Inside, the interview with the 20-year-old (who shows her age with comments like, “It is! It was built in the eighties!” when asked if her condo building is old) holds no bars. Kendall opens up about everything from finding out Caitlyn is transgender (“My dad was coming down the stairs, in, like, a wig and makeup and shoes — the full nine. And she didn’t see me. I literally froze. …That was the first time I had ever seen her.”) to cars (i.e. her $100k 1957 Corvette Stingray) to being “famous for being famous.” And that’s just the start.
Discussing her childhood as well as her current luxe life and careers goals, this is the peek into Kendall’s life that fans have been waiting for.

Though she’s appeared inside the pages of the mag plenty of times over the past couple of years (both the US mag and the international versions), this is her first September issue cover. Which is why it’s pretty wild that her family totally spaced …or did they?
Check out the family (and Ryan Seacrest, natch) tease Kendall here.
