Thanksgiving is officially here; can you believe it? Whether you’ve lost track of time or simply let procrastination get the best of you, decorating for your Thanksgiving gathering last-minute can make any hardworking host sweat. If this sounds like you then read on, because today I’m sharing some last-minute decor ideas to impress your guests and ease your worries.
1. First impressions are everything. Step outside the box and greet your guests with a charming alternative to the typical fall wreath, like a wheat wreath instead.
2. Add a touch of metallic. Infusing hints of metallic is an easy way to bring a subtle dose of elegance to your Thanksgiving decor. Whether you do this by using votives, napkin ring holders, or plates, you’ll be adding a stunning sparkle that your guests are sure to love.
3. Use three-tiered stand decor.If you don’t already have a three-tiered stand, you can make one by stacking a few different sized cake stands. Fill each level with fall fruits and vegetables for a centerpiece, or place an arrangement of desserts for guests to eat.
4. Get creative with festive centerpieces. Try a gilded fruit or pumpkin centerpiece instead of flowers for an especially festive feel. You could even add your own chic spin by painting the fruit or pumpkins in white or cool fall tones. Don’t forget to incorporate tall candlesticks and votives for a finishing touch.
5. Embrace fall and use pumpkins to your full advantage.These DIY pumpkin vases add a creative, unique element to your Thanksgiving celebration and feel oh-so-autumn.
6. Break out the fancy. Dress up the table setting with your good china or flatware in gold or white. This will make your tablescape elegant, timeless, and unforgettable.
7. Decorate your mantel. Whether it’s covered in candles, burlap, or pumpkins, the mantel is a focal point of the room, so you want it to be decked out enough to turn heads.
8. White is always in. Group together white pillar candles in various heights; this will create dimension and give a romantic feel to any dining room.
9. Fall scents are your best friend. Add fresh cinnamon sticks to your candle votives, or put some in each napkin roll-up and tie it with a little greenery to give your table that extra holiday flair (and aroma!).
