Tyra Banks Shares Her Brilliant Idea For 'Life-Size 3' — Including Lindsay Lohan

tyra banks life-size 3

Can you believe it's been over 20 years since the Lindsay Lohan and Tyra Banks classic, Life -Size premiered? This is enough to make some millennials shudder — especially those of us who still know every word to "Be A Star." In the era of Barbie and Bratz and Polly Pocket, this film definitely stuck with us since its debut.

And apparently, we're not the only ones! Tyra Banks recently dished about an idea she has for Life-Size 3, and it's triggering allllllll the nostalgia. Keep scrolling to see what she said — and to revisit what makes this franchise so great!

Is there a 'Life-Size 3?'

The Drew Barrymore Show/Ash Bean

Tyra Banks appeared on The Drew Barrymore Showyesterday during the Drews News segment, and she gave us an exciting update on the matter. They initially talked about Tyra's ice cream company, SMiZE & DREAM, before co-hosts Drew Barrymore and Ross Matthews asked if there's a chance fans will get to see Life-Size 3. The supermodel, actress, and entrepreneur laughed and said, "I feel like we should do one!" Of course this made the crowd burst into screams and rounds of applause.

Not only does she think they should make Life-Size 3, but Tyra already has an entire plot in mind! She said, "What if she [Lindsay Lohan as Casey Stuart], in some of kind of way, magically turned into a doll? And then my Eve character had to teach her how to be a doll. I feel like that could be very interesting."

Now, whether this dreamy plot becomes a reality, well that's a different story.

Is 'Life-Size 3' in the works?

Disney Pictures, Inc.

When Ross Matthews asked Tyra if she can actually bring Life-Size 3 to life, she didn't verbally say anything. Instead, she nodded which made the host exclaim, "Done! Thank you! Thank you, Tyra Banks." However, nothing's been officially announced...yet!

The first time Tyra hinted she's open to reprising her role as Eve was on Instagram in August. She expressed excitement about the Polly Pocket Airbnb in her captions, even tagging Lindsay Lohan. "Oh Polly Pocket, so small in size but BIG in memories and inspiration! 💛 I know so many girls who put you in their pocket and sometimes would find you in the back of the washing machine! 🫧 😂 I’m sure so many kids that loved my Life-Size movie thought of you while watching it…guess it’s time to visit this lil place and dream up another script. What say you, @lindsaylohan? xo Eve/TyTy," she wrote.

What is 'Life-Size' about?

Disney Pictures, Inc.

If you've never seen Life-Size, we're sad for you — just kidding! The film revolved around pre-teen Casey Stuart's (Lindsay Lohan) life after her mom died. She's become withdrawn from her former friends and somehow has made it to the football team at her school. At some point she stumbles across a book of spells and believes it's the thing she needs to bring her mom back. But, the spell goes awry and breathes life into one of her dolls, Eve (Tyra Banks).

A series of mishaps and heartbreak happen over the course of the film, but viewers get to see the profound effect Eve has on Casey before she returns back to her original form.

What happened in 'Life-Size 2?'

Disney Enterprises, Inc.

Life Size 2 had a difference scenario from the first film being that it doesn't exactly have anything to do with a pre-teen girl. The focus was on Grace (Francia Raisa), the CEO of Marathon Toys, and her inability to find joy in life. Fans of Life-Size know that the Eve doll was a product of Marathon Toys so it's not shocking that Eve herself senses that Grace needs her help.

Did Lindsay Lohan appear in 'Life-Size 2?'

Disney Pictures, Inc.

Not quite — she made a brief cameo without actually appearing in the movie. Life-Size 2 writer, Cameron Fay explained to TV Line, "Well, the first draft actually had Casey in the movie. That was something Tyra really wanted...But when we realized it wasn’t going to happen, the idea had to shift."

Wanting to find a way to include Lindsay's character some kind of way, Fay was inspired to make it seem that 'Casey' reached out to Grace in a way that felt authentic.

Where can I watch 'Life-Size' and 'Life-Size 2'?

Disney Pictures, Inc.

Unfortunately Life-Size isn't available to stream, nor has it recently appeared on cable TV. It's not quite clear why you can't watch Life-Size on platforms like Disney+, but this Reddit thread has the closest thing that answers on why it's so hard to watch.

Right now you can buy Life-Size 2: A Christmas Eve on Amazon Prime for $6.

When Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield presented together at the 95th Academy Awards, the internet lost their minds!! (Including yours truly, of course). But little did we know the duo actually had a rom-com in the works. (Pugh told Jimmy Fallon that the Academy also didn't know the actors were going to be working together, which makes their presentation even more fun). Deadline announcedWe Live In Time on March 14, 2023, and during the first week of April, we got the first set pictures of Pugh and Garfield traipsing around London. I haven't stopped thinking about it since! Here's everything you need to know about the new romance movie.

Did Florence Pugh really shave her head for We Live in Time?

Florence Pugh/Instagram

Yes, Florence Pugh shaved her head for We Live in Time — and Andrew Garfield is the one who cut it off! The moment is actually a scene in the movie and Andrew reveals how scary it was to do it in real time. “It was a privilege to be given that job,” Garfield said in an interview with British Vogue. “What if I somehow destroyed the head of one of the best actors of her generation? It was terrifying, but ultimately it was a very beautiful, intimate scene to shoot and thank God she has such a nicely shaped melon."

Pugh shared an image of her long hair on her Instagram stories while celebrating the movie's release. "This is the last picture I took with my hair," she says. "Getting to this for a role was a true honour and a privilege, to give my body to the story was something I always felt passionately and confident about. I'm just grateful. So grateful."

What have Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield said about We Live in Time?

A24

In a recent profile with British Vogue, Florence Pugh revealed just how nerve-wracking one particular We Live in Time scene was: cracking eggs one-handed. “That was what I was most terrified by,” she says. “Not the birthing scene. Not any of the illness. No, it was cracking the egg with one hand. I literally had two or three 12-dozen boxes of eggs and I would just be in the corner practicing.”

Florence Pugh also knew she wanted to be involved as soon as she read the script. "Especially as Brits, we grow up with the quirkiest and most beautiful of love stories. And I think it’s been a long time since we’ve had one of those,” she says in a Vanity Fair interview.

A24

“When I read it, I just fell in love with the idea of getting to be in one of those movies that will matter to a lot of people, and will live for a long time. And it’s about the simplest of things, which is that we are here, I personally believe, for one reason only: to love and be loved.”

“I think for a long time, I’ve wanted to find something that is not necessarily as hardened or as powerful as my other characters,” she continues. “I think this came at the right time in my life. I got to play a very, very normal woman who is talented in her own ways. The story is about the powerful love, and the powerful connection, between two people.”

A24

After starring as Jonathan Larson in Tick, Tick...Boom!, Garfield says taking the role of Tobias "was quite interesting to me on a performance-challenge level to be like, 'Okay, how do I play a guy who reads very ordinary and is comfortable in his ordinariness, having played someone who’s so obsessed with being extraordinary and genius?'”

The story, in which Pugh's Almut gets diagnosed with cancer, resonates with Garfield, who lost his mother to pancreatic cancer in 2019. “There’s a communing in the spirit of loss, in the shared experience of loss and love and the cost of loving and being fully alive,” he adds. “So I hope that we can all bond in the courage to do that.”

See The 'We Live In Time' Poster!

A24

The poster for Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh's We Live in Time perfectly captures the cozy, warm-down-to-your-toes feeling that can come with falling in love. And with a tagline like "Every Minute Counts" (plus the fact the movie comes from Brooklyn director John Crowley), I'll definitely be in tears by the end.

"Making this movie was such an unbelievably beautiful experience," Florence Pugh says on Instagram. "I’m thrilled and proud to say that it’s nearly here for all of you to watch soon. In the meantime, here’s some pretty breadcrumbs ;)"

Watch the We Live in Time trailer!

A24

If the We Live in Time trailer is this beautiful, I can't imagine how incredible the movie is going to be. Love, life, family, good news, bad news — it feels so relatable because of all the situations Almut and Tobias go through. But the best part is they don't go through them alone.

What is the We Live In Time release date?

Image via Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images

A24's We Live In Time will hit theaters October 11, 2024. It's one of our most-anticipated fall movies! At the New York City premiere of Dune 2 (watch our TikTok coverage here!), Florence Pugh talked about how much she loved making We Live In Time. "We just had the most beautiful time making it," she tells ET. "We made a real story about real people and I got to work with the most unbelievable actor that I feel so honored to be in his presence and shout lines back to him."

"It'll be here soon," she continues. "I'm just still in love with the process of making the movie, so I hope the people appreciate watching it."

What is We Live In Time about?

A24

Almut (Pugh) is a witty and determined chef, while Tobias (Garfield) is trying to figure out his place in the world after his recent divorce. When their paths cross, their lives change forever. "Through snapshots of their life together -- falling for each other, building a home, becoming a family -- a difficult truth is revealed that rocks its foundation," according to the official synopsis. "As they embark on a path challenged by the limits of time, they learn to cherish each moment of the unconventional route their love story has taken in filmmaker John Crowley’s decade-spanning, deeply moving romance."

Based on Pugh and Garfield's previous roles (plus the fact that screenwriter Nick Payne is also behind The Last Letter From Your Lover AND John Crowley also directed Brooklyn), we're confident it will be emotional. I'm going to be bringing tissues into the theater, for sure.

Who else is in the We Live In Time cast?

Tristan Fewings/Getty Images for BFI

It looks like we'll see Adam James, Aoife Hinds, Marama Corlett, and Nikhil Parmar alongside Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield. Alas, this viral tweetabout Paul Mescal joining the film appears to have been an April Fool's joke.

Thanks to Deadline, we know that John Crowley is directing We Live In Time, Nick Payne is writing the script, and Benedict Cumberbatch is serving as an executive producer. Leah Clarke, Adam Ackland, and Guy Heeley will also produce.

Where are they filming We Live In Time?

Kevin Winter/Getty Images

The cast began filming We Live In Time in April of 2023, which is PERFECT rom-com weather if you ask me! Filming for the movie mainly took place around London.

What Else Can I See Andrew Garfield And Florence Pugh In?

Niko Tavernise/Warner Bros. Pictures

You can see Florence Pugh in A Good Person, Oppenheimer, and Dune 2. She plays Yelena Belova in Hawkeye and Black Widow (both available on Disney+), and stars in Don't Worry Darling, which you can stream on HBO Max now. She also finally took part in a Hot Ones interview!

Andrew Garfield's Under the Banner of Heaven and Spider-Man: No Way Home are streaming on Hulu and Apple TV+, respectively, and you can check out his role in Tick, Tick…Boom! on Netflix. You can also check out his 10 Essentials on British GQ's YouTube to get a glimpse into his everyday life.

Reliving your dating history with your best friends and a glass of wine is, if you ask me, the definition of the ultimate girls' night. Trading dating horror stories usually ends with me laughing so hard I can't breathe. But in Stephanie Hsu's new romantic comedyLaid, going through her list of exes is anything but funny for one simple reason: they're all dying, and she needs to figure out why. Here's everything you need to know about the new show before it hits Peacock this December!

  • In Laid, Stephanie Hsu's Ruby learns all of her exes are dying.
  • She teams up with BFF AJ to get to the bottom of the mystery.
  • All eight episodes of the series will hit Peacock this December.

What is Laid about?

Laid Plot

"Would you wanna know if you were gonna die?" Stephanie Hsu asks at the beginning of the Laid trailer. When Ruby (Stephanie) finds out her exes are all dying in strange ways, she has to go back through her relationship timelines in order to embrace the future. According to the official Peacock site, this crazy rom-com answers the age-old question of "Is there something wrong with me?" with “Yes. There is. The problem is definitely you.”

“When we started to develop Laid, we were intrigued by the idea of bringing back the old-school, traditional romantic comedy (swelling music! kisses in the rain! Anne Hathaway or someone who is also appealing!), but because we were living in such a dark time (pandemic! industry strikes!), we felt it needed to have some kind of twist,” co-showrunners & executive producers Nahnatchka Khan and Sally Bradford McKenna said in a joint statement. “Sure, it could be optimistic and heartwarming and make you believe in love again, but it should probably also have suspense, death, and blood."

I'm obsessed with the title of this show because of its double meaning, too. Not only does "laid" connect to all of Ruby's sexual encounters but it's also a nod to the fact her exes are being laid to rest. So clever!

  2. Cut pairs of bat wings, leaving an extra bit – around ¼ inch – on the flat side to fold back and act as a tab. Add an adhesive dot to the tab to adhere each wing to the mandarin.
  3. Cut pairs of small triangles for ears. Use the knife to cut small shallow slits on the top of the mandarin and tuck in the ears. (via Jodi Levine)
