11 Of The Best Lightweight Beers To Bring To Your Next Tailgate

light beers to bring to a tailgatelight beers to bring to a tailgate

With the back-to-school frenzy and all its school supplies and afternoon snack recipes comes one of the best parts of the fall semester: tailgating. Burgers, cheering on your favorite team, and spending time with friends all make for a memorable afternoon, whether you're looking for a sip that's light and fruity to honor the end of summer or you want to get in the fall spirit with a pumpkin ale, we've got some of the best beers around.

Stiegl Grapefruit Radler

Stiegl Grapefruit Radler ($12 for 4)

This beer drink adds real grapefruit juice into the mix for a natural and tangy flavor you won't be able to get enough of.

Athletic Brewing Company Craft ($30 for 12)

Light flavor and an airy floral spice give this non-alcoholic beer a crisp finish. It'll go great with spicy foods like your go-to taco recipe or braised meat.

Schlafly Pumpkin Ale ($13 for 6)

Not only does this ale have delicious pumpkin flavor, but the cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves will give you that ultimate fall feeling.

Blue Moon Moon Haze IPA ($12 for 6)

This Belgian-style ale is a great addition to all your cookouts and tailgates for the rest of the summer, and it will pair well with all kinds of chicken and veggies.

Angry Orchard Hardcore Dark Cherry Apple ($11 for 6)

Okay, so hard cider isn't exactly beer, but it's too good to not include. If you prefer this kind of drink to beer, try this pick that blends cider apples with dark cherries for a full and rounded flavor.

Odell Sippin' Pretty ($12 for 6)

If the can isn't enough to convince you to take a sip, the refreshing mix of açaí, guava, and elderberry will. The Himalayan pink sea salt adds a nice edge to the flavor, and the fact that the beer is a bright ruby just makes us love it even more.

Fruh Kolsch ($15 for 6)

With a malty aroma and a flavor that balances vanilla with flowery hops, this German pale ale is more than meets the eye.

Miller High Life ($4 for 6)

Affectionately called the "champagne of beer" by the B+C team, try mixing this pick with a little bit of lemonade to create a shandy.

Bud Light Lime Beer ($16 for 12)

Citrus anything automatically makes us think of summer, and this lime beer gets its flavor from real lime peels.

Anderson Valley Blood Orange Gose ($10 for 4)

Brewed with sea salt and coriander, the blood oranges found in this wheat ale make for a complex flavor. Try pairing it with a duck or pork recipe that features sweet components.

East Brother Beer Co. English Strong ($15 for 4)

The rich malt of this beer, which features caramel and dark fruit, comes together for a supremely British flavor.

The sober curious movement is all about approaching alcohol with mindfulness, and if you're looking to swap your go-to drink with something a little less boozy, try a beer alternative. These picks, ranging from kombucha to non-alcoholic drinks from your favorite beer brands, are tasty, colorful, and will let you take part in the social aspect of drinking — without giving you a hangover.

GT'S Synergy Trilogy Kombucha Drink Organic & Raw ($4)

We love that this fruity pick is full of probiotics, acids, and active enzymes just as much as we love the rainbow label. Plus it's 100% organic and gluten-free!

Betty Buzz Ginger Beer ($30 For 12 Bottles)

Blake Lively's brand is all about making drink additives that will taste as good as they make you feel, and this ginger beer is no exception. Add it to your favorite mocktail or sip it straight from the bottle. Either way, you won't be able to get enough.

KÖE Organic Kombucha Cans ($24 For 12 Cans)

Any kind of berry lemonade is pretty much the perfect summer drink in our opinion, so it only follows that we'd want to get our hands on this strawberry lemonade kombucha. And with 35 calories and no artificial sweeteners, you'll want to try it too.

Guinness Zero Non-Alcoholic Beer ($10 For 4 Cans)

This beer has all the flavor and characteristics that match Guinness' most popular beer. Their cold filtration method removes the alcohol but retains the drink's balance between bitter and sweet.

Athletic Brewing Company Athletic Lite ($14 For 6 Cans)

This light brew is ideal for anyone who like to stick to classic and simple drinks. Not only is it low-calorie, but it's also vegan and non-GMO.

Budweiser Zero Full-Flavored Zero Alcohol Brew ($9 For 6 Cans)

Get the flavor and feel of a classic Budweiser, just without, well, the alcohol content.

Fever-Tree Ginger Beer ($6 For 4 Bottles)

This non-alcoholic beer features three gingers that are brewed for 24 hours. It swaps cane sugar for fruit sugar for a sweet and spicy taste that isn't artificial and we can't get enough.

Remedy Kombucha Variety Pack ($45 For 24 Cans)

If you're not sure what kombucha flavor you like the best, just get a variety pack so you can try them all! This is also a great option for parties because there's sure to be something for everyone.

Health-Ade Pomegranate Kombucha ($43 For 6 Bottles)

The gut-friendly probiotics and organic acids found in this recipe are exactly the kinds of multitaskers we're looking for. They'll help decrease your inflammation and your bloating while also making your skin and nails better. Count us in.

If you can't stop talking about Severance season 2, you're not alone. The Apple TV+ show has totally taken over the internet (and all my group chats) and as the mysteries at Lumon continue to unfold, there's one heartbreaking, viral theory surrounding this week's episode, and Gemma, that has the internet in a tizzy.

Keep reading for the most insane Severance season 2, episode 9 theory on the internet.

Has Gemma been an innie the whole time?

Apple TV

TikTok user @msauroraalice made the connection that Severance season 2 episode 9, "The After Hours," has the same title as a specific Twilight Zone episode in which a mannequin, well, forgets she's a mannequin. And now we're all wondering whether Severance is going to reveal a very similar plotline with Gemma.

"Could Gemma have been manufactured at Lumon and all of her experience with Mark is just a severed version of herself," @msauroraalice says, theorizing that "there is no Gemma."

"I bet this next episode, Gemma or Helly has a horrifying discovery about themselves just like the mannequin realizing she's not even alive," she continues.

Clearly, this Twilight Zone episode has a ton of similarities to Severance, with the split identities of it all. And as one Reddit user just made it even more heartbreaking by saying, "She could be an experiment from the very start which is why they went as far as to fake her death and recruit Mark to work for them. That would be heartbreaking. It would mean Mark and Gemma 's relationship was manufactured from the beginning."

"The After Hours" is sure to set us up for a crazy 'Severance' season 2 finale.

Apple TV

After everything Mark has been through, this would truly be a heartbreaking turn of events and I don't know if I could handle it! I'm not alone, either. TikTok users flooded the comments of the post (which has over 900K views).

"If Gemma was never a full person to begin with I'm gonna lose my mind," one user said, while another theorized, "I think Gemma is real but she actually died. Lumon had plans for her to begin with so they revived her body because they effectively own it and now she's stuck in purgatory testing."

But if this Severance theory breaks your heart as much as it breaks mine, there's a silver lining. "The next episode after 'The After Hours' from TWZ is called 'The Mighty Casey' and is about a robot who becomes more human I believe," a third TikTok user says.

But honestly, emotional devastation — and peeling back a character's insecurities, fears, and heartbreak to get to their core — make for really good TV because of how relatable those moments can be. So we'll just have to see what the Severance season 2 finale has in store.

Here are 10 Questions I Need Severance Season 2 To Answer — let us know on Instagram what kinds of questions and theories you have.
