If you’ve ever thought about lightening your hair and going blonde, whether you’re aiming for platinum blonde like Kristen Stewart or even Jennifer Lawrence’s icy-blonde, you should probably take a moment and hear Miley Cyrus’s latest Instagram rant first. The singer had a lot to say about the regret she has around bleaching her hair. Like, A LOT to say. Maybe she should have read tips from Khloé Kardashian’s celeb colorist on how to SAFELY go blonde before committing to such a drastic color.
Although, we can’t say we blame her for her lengthy Instagram confession (warning: contains NSFW language!). Hair regrets can run deep, especially since they can take forever to grow out and be quite costly to fix. Not to mention that any mistakes we make are right out there on top of our heads for the entire world to see. Treating your hair kindly, which includes bleaching your hair safely, is key to keeping it (and you) happy. Unfortunately, Miley is SO not there at the moment.
“Learned a valuable lesson in this meaningless process,” she began, “Bleached my f*cking natural healthy a$$ hair rebelling out of boredom … something inside told me I’d regret it. That hair color comes in a box (well maybe mine), therefore it’s available to purchase and what grows from my scalp naturally is mine and and only mine!!”
One of the star’s other gripes is that platinum blonde seems to be the IT color of the season “And now I’m out here looking like every Suzy Q & Sally B there is,” she wrote. (Uh-oh, she’s not throwing shade at another celeb who recently went blonde, is she?)
After acknowledging that others deal with bigger issues and that she was feeling, well, a little “self-obsessed” (we’ve all been there, Miley!), she continued to say, “Either this sh*t needs to grow out at super speed or I’m about to go in for a f*ckin hair cut realllllll quick!!” Could girlfriend be headed in for a shave to start all over again? She ended her rant with the hashtag #imisstheoldme. You gotta feel for the girl. But she leaves off with some final wisdom, “So please, fellow humans, next time you feel that tickle in your belly while making a decision listen to what it says and know the true you can never be replicated or replaced you are the one and only you!” Yes, Miley, preach.
She then added a PS telling peeps to get out and smell the roses when the need-to-overthink thing strikes, then a PPS disclaimer saying she was in no way dissing how hair can totally be a form of self-expression.
