Now You Can ALMOST Look Like a Model at Home

What day of the week is it again today? Oh, right, it doesn’t really matter because on any given day of the week, there’s one thing you want to look at: Models in their homes. And while most sites would just look at them and sigh over what appear to be the most charmed lives ever, we’re all striving to live the big life here at Brit + Co. So while we look at these lovely models in their lovely homes, we’re also going to show you how to steal their designer interiors. But forget runway prices, we’re doing it sample sale style.

Alright, so we can’t send you back to your early 20s and make you six feet tall, but we can help you steal the look of this Victoria’s Secret supermodel‘s swanky West Village town home. Let’s focus on the foyer.

First, big news: You can make a one-stop shopping adventure to Target to get the look. Pick up a hard-edge golden mirror ($298), a mini white chandelier ($54), some mini lampshades (just paint the edges with some bright green paint) and a bracketed black wall shelf ($45) (you’re going to want to give the hardware a gold dusting). Anchor the look with curvy wallpaper ($25), which gives off a similar feel to Karlie’s seashell-inspired print.

Cindy Crawford

Please excuse the tiny pics and travel back in time to an era when Cindy Crawford was doing Pepsi ads. The classic cover girl kept classic comforts rolling throughout her living room in Malibu. If she was outfitting this room today, she’d head straight to Anthropologie.

Grab the not-so-bargain-basement-priced Continental Sofa ($2,298), and then give it some color and interest with a few throw pillows… and you know that Anthro’s got you more than covered in the pillow department.

We’re digging their Poppy pillow ($198) and its indigo-dyed vibe and the Dian Jacquard ($68).

Need it all? Get a mango-wood coffee table ($698), throw a Jardin des Plantes bowl ($20) on it.

Anja Rubik

When people ask us, “Can we take a picture of you in your home?” this is exactly how we pose, too. (TWINS!) But let’s not get distracted by the details of a beautiful model in beautiful pants, knee-dancing to LPs on her living room rug. We’re focusing on interiors today, people. And this is what life looks like for the Manhattan-based model.

Unless you want to head to Ligne Roset and drop some serious $$$$ on a sofa, a lookalike version is hard to come by… Except! If you get what you’ve always wanted and have been to ashamed to admit: A couple of bean bag chairs ($339)! Throw some pillows on two of them and butt them up against each other and pretend you’re living a model’s life. (They also turn into futons for when couch surfers catch a wave through town.)

Grab a cozy solid white rug ($60) and finish off the look with a brushed nickel floor lamp ($231). You can get the entire look (minus the hardware store supplies) on Overstock.com.

Elle MacPherson

It’s official: The model/lingerie designer has some serious style. Alright, she actually worked with the dream team behind design studio The Lakes by Yoo to pad out her five-bedroom Cotswold home, but still, we’re giving the girl props for good taste and her restrained-in-all-the-right-ways color palette.

It’s mostly about the paint here, which means this look has some major DIY potential. Find old chairs and give them a coat of white, grey and aqua. Paint your cupboards and an accent wall black, and then keep your tile light and neutral. After painting, prop out your dining area by picking up a Magical Thinking Costa Geo Rug in black and white ($199), a walnut-topped metal-legged dining table from Room + Board ($2,699) and antique bronzed pendant lamp from Crate + Barrel ($349).

Molly Sims

Maybe our favorite mommy/model, Molly Sims LA Nursery is the place of sweet, sweet dreams for her beautiful babe. She went for pinks and blues, keeping things gender neutral. The room is all about the details rather than big pieces. Our pocketbook thanks her for that.

For a softer, more playful and feminine take on the sputnik light, Anthropolgie has you covered with their Dandelion Orbit Chandelier ($1,698).

Add details to a couch, chair or nook, like velveteen ikat pillows from Etsy ($65) mixed with Chai Lai pillows from Urban ($59).

Jessica Stam

The girl rocks Radiant Orchid right, and the girl rocks Moroccan decor right. Her Manhattan apartment is very “of the moment.” And if you love the look, you’re going to want to follow suit with similar hues and style. Her home may be filled with antique finds, but you better believe you can get modern-day copycats.

A glass top coffee table can be had at a gazillion different stores, but one from Urban Outfitters ($329) is the closest we found to Jessica’s. And while we can’t help you out with the antique Moroccan doors, we can point you in the direction of an amethyst velvet chair ($998).

For the rug, head over to PB Teen and grab their Shimmer and Shine floor cover.

Hilary Rhoda

All you need to look like you live the same life that Hilary Rhoda lives is to rent the right apartment — one with killer windows.

Other than that? All it takes is a black desk ($99) and some sweet poses.

Liya Kebede

L’Oreal Paris spokesperson, Liya Kebede’s home is exactly that — homey. Her airy and light-filled three bedroom flat might be located in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, but it’s so cozy and comfortably that it could just as well be the home you grew up in.

Get her accent piece, a cowhide ottoman, from Room + Board ($399), a simple console table from Target ($120) and a collection of picture frames to display your favorite family memories ($28).

Angela Lindvall

A yoga studio and a bio-dynamic produce garden? Angela Lindvall’s SoCal home has all the right earthy elements. And while the interiors of the house are lovely, what has our jaws dropping are the great outdoors.

If you want to harvest your own fruits and veggies throughout the year, we’ve got the plans covered with one epic tutorial.

More into outdoor entertain? Check out how our main girl Nicole Richie entertains her guest like a pro.

Protecting women's reproductive rights feels like an uphill battle. To date, 14 states have a total abortion ban in place that don't allow any exceptions for sexual violence against women or young girls. One of the states is Missouri, where model Karlie Kloss spent time as a child.

Having given birth to her first child during the pandemic, she feels fortunate to have a positive birth story, but she knows this isn't always the case for others. Unfortunately, doctors don't always prioritize women's pain and this can end up especially hurting Black moms. There's also things like postpartum depression to consider.

Luckily, there are moms — like Karlie Kloss — who are willing to push back against any stigma by sharing their postpartum stories and advocating for maternal health.

Karlie's Postpartum Experience + Maternal Health Inequality

There are birthing classes and books dedicated to educating moms about life during postpartum, but that doesn't always mean you can know exactly what to expect. In Karlie's case, she remembers the difficulties she faced after giving birth. She told Glamour, "My body was completely turned around, you’re not sleeping, and there’s this enormous learning curve that you have to figure out." For some moms, postpartum anxiety or postpartum depression can add to the challenges of adjusting to a new normal. The truth is that 1 in 10 women experience PPD, making it a common occurrence.

As tough as the postpartum experience can be, Karlie feels like it helped open her eyes to things she didn't have prior knowledge about. She said, "...the access to, say, the right kind of formula to feed your child, or protections and rights, is not equal."

Why Karlie's Advocating For Maternal Health Support + Paid Leave

When Karlie learned about the trigger ban on abortion in Missouri, she told Glamour she was upset and wanted to figure out how to become active in fighting for reproductive rights. She said, "We are living in a country where forced birth is a reality. And yet when that mother goes into labor and that child comes into the world, she also is not protected...before being forced to go back to work." She went on to express frustration about the lack of policies that can ensure birthing women are actually protected in a country that demands ownership of their reproductive rights.

It's one of the reasons she chose to join Bobbie's Motherboard and the #passpaidleave campaign. She said, "As I’ve gotten more informed on the history of it, learning how many times [paid leave] has been tried to pass and how close we got this past fall, now is the time to really bring this to the forefront." This inspired her to implement a 12-week paid leave policy at her own company, Kode With Klossy. Right on!

We still have a long way to go when it comes to women's health. We know it shouldn't be a hard decision for the government to determine women need more beneficial policies and less threats of criminal charges but, thankfully, there are people who are committed to using their platforms to advocate.

What do you wish people knew about maternal health? Let us know in the comments.

Motherhood has been the topic of several conversations in recent years, but no one expected to see the rise of the popular "mom-fluencer" — or the stark decline of them á la Ruby Franke.

The mom-fluencer is sometimes been portrayed as the mom who's always smiling with her kids in pictures or as the mom who doesn't have it all together. Nonetheless, you can count of seeing BTS moments of her family's "hectic" lives, DIY activities, and fun vacations. We don't think anything is wrong with creating genuine family content, but portraying yourself as a wholesome mom who loves her kids when you're abusive is devilish.

Ruby Franke detailed a beautiful family life on YouTube, but it became clear something was amiss and once the disgraced counselor Jodi Hildebrandt entered the Frankes' lives, things took a terrifying turn for the worse which led to Ruby being arrested for child abuse in 2023.

For the first time, Ruby Franke's ex-husband Kevin Franke and their two oldest children are ready to tell their side of the story in a new Hulu documentary and it's as chilling as you'd expect.

Everything to know about the upcoming documentary on Ruby Franke's highly controversial story:

Hulu

Ruby Franke

Hulu's no stranger to covering true crime and other documentaries,y so it's no surprise they're willing to explore Ruby Franke's case. Appropriately titled Devil in the Family: The Fall of Ruby Franke, this documentary's primary goal is to understand what happened to the Frankes.

The world's introduction to the family was via their Eight Passengers YouTube channel (second page dedicated to them) which was spearheaded by family matriarch Ruby Franke. Featuring short vlogs about life with "six active kids," it was meant to be a space so they could "find true joy in the journey." Despite the fact Kevin Franke revealed their main channel was bringing in over $100,000, there didn't seem to be a ton of job behind the scenes given the crime-ridden fallout (via Vanity Fair).

But, don't expect to look at Devil in the Family: The Fall of Ruby Franke from a true crime angle.

Disney/Kai Pfaffenbach

Kevin Franke

"I know everyone expects this to be true crime, but I’ve watched true-crime documentaries, and this isn't it," Kevin Franke said in an interview with Vanity Fair. Even the documentary's director Olly Lambert said he's "never made, and would never make just a true-crime thing," although the media outlet pointed out he directed Abused: The Untold Story which details Jimmy Savile's salacious crimes.

Viewers will be able to see snippets from prior vlogs that include Ruby Franke's double personalities and also seems to explain how Kevin Franke was duped into allowing Jodi Hildebrandt to live with the couple in 2021. According to Lambert, he believes this is one of the ways she was able to manipulate the family. "We’ve met quite a lot of people who worked with Jodi, and it was a very common theme that Jodi really was gifted at seeing through people—reading them with such accuracy. But she used it to such bad ends, because she very quickly…what she would see is a way to exploit people. A way to manipulate them," (via Vanity Fair).

Kevin Franke also said, "One of the things that’s been so frustrating for me has been feeling silenced or muzzled—not being able to speak and having people make assumptions that just aren’t accurate." From his POV, this gives him the chance to "take control" of the narrative that's been spun about him.

Disney/Kai Pfaffenbach

Shari Franke

This may stem from the book he and Ruby Franke's daughter, Shari Franke, released last month. Titled The House of My Mother: A Daughter's Quest for Freedom, it sheds light on how controlling her mother was. Not only that, but Shari points out the religious fanaticism her mother succumbed to and the daunting reality of Jodi Hildebrandt's coaching program "ConneXions."

From her perspective, she felt her father wasn't actively present which gave her mom freedom to impose her strong will onto the Franke children.

Disney/Kai Pfaffenbach

Chad Franke

In Chad Franke's case, he never seemed like he wanted to be a part of the YouTube channel. There are moments in Devil in the Family where he doesn't seem enthusiastic about being on camera which prompted his sister Shari to say things like "pretend like you're happy" or "act like you're happy" (via Vanity Fair).

He also revealed the stark difference between how his mom acted when she was filmed and when she wasn't. "...there was a large difference between her just telling me to be myself, and then, you know, when we were doing a brand deal or working with a company — then I was to say exactly what the company would ask me to say."

It makes sense he celebrated the anniversary of his mom's arrest last year by writing "Happy Prisonversary" over her picture on social media (via PEOPLE).

Hulu

Ruby Franke

Throughout the documentary, it feels that Kevin Franke took a passive approach to being in his children's lives which led to Ruby Franke and Jodi Hildebrandt taking advantage of them. Vanity Fair recounted how Ruby even resorted to saying she believed her children were under demonic possession and needed to save her kids.

Whatever the case, the Franke children will have to heal from the trauma inflicted on them by someone who should've been protecting and loving them. It's a sad situation that should've never resulted in Devil in the Family: The Fall of Ruby Franke being filmed, but we're glad someone decided to allow siblings Shari and Chad Franke a chance to share their side of the story.

Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard are frequently confused for one another, as both ladies will tell you. There’ll be no mistaking who’s who after today, however, as Chastain just debuted a brand new ‘do that is bound to turn heads.

As the Molly’s Game star’s hairstylist, Renato Campora, showed off in a series of photos on his Instagram page, she’s now rocking a wavy, center-parted chin-length bob. The actress also showed off the look over on her page, dubbing it her “summer cut.”

The look is not only a departure from her previous slightly-longer-than-shoulder-length style, it’s also much shorter than her lookalike’s current ‘do, which falls at shoulder-length.

The women have previously addressed the frequent confusion over their similar red hair and features with Chastain hilariously posting a musical Howard made aptly titled, I AM NOT JESSICA CHASTAIN as well as a meme of them reading, “People still think we are the same person?” “IKR?”

They’ve worn different hairstyles before — 41-year-old Chastain rocked a side-swept bob that grazed her collarbones back in 2016 — but her newest transformation is shorter and distinct enough to put this redhead mixup to bed once and for all — at least, we hope so!
