Morning Buzz! Finding Dory Will Feature Disney’s First Trans Character + More

It’s Tuesday! Here’s what you need to know:

1. Jimmy Fallon’s Moving Tribute to the Orlando Nightclub Victims Is Pure Class. We’re used to seeing Jimmy Fallon crack jokes on The Tonight Show and ham it up with his guests, but last night we saw a whole new side of the funny man. In a somber speech, he implored of his audience: “We need to support each other’s differences and worry less about our own opinions.” He also wondered out loud how, as a new father, he might be able to explain this tragedy to his own kids.

2. Finding Dory Will Feature Disney’s First Trans Character. Ellen told USA Today: “Actually, I’ll tell you a little secret, there’s a stingray that’s becoming sting-Rhonda, so there’s a trans sting in the movie.” This comes shortly after rumors that the movie would feature Disney’s first lesbian couple, but DeGeneres kept mum on those deets. 3. Zayn Malik Is Going the Extra Mile for Gigi Hadid Post-Split. In case you haven’t heard yet, Zayn and Gigi are definitely back together and, according to “sources” (cough), Zayn’s been going out of his way to make up for their initial rift and to change the unspecified behavior that may have contributed to their short split. You can do it, bbs! (h/t Perez Hilton, Image via Larry Busacca/Getty)

4. The Red Hot Chili Peppers Joined James Corden on Carpool Karaoke... and everyone ended up shirtless. Natch.

5. Kanye West Just Announced the North American Dates for His Saint Pablo Tour. The tour kicks off in Indianapolis on August 25 and will wrap in Las Vegas on October 29, and it’s expected to gross like a kajillion dollars. Get excited! (h/t E!, Image via Getty.)

6. “Stop others f*cking with your future.” — Keira Knightly in a new video campaign meant to encourage UK voters to vote to stay within the EU in the current EU referendum. (h/t BuzzFeed)

Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s twins make their debut in this morning’s top news stories. Check that and more out below in the Friday Morning Buzz!

1.Early Friday morning, Beyoncé posted the very first photo of Sir and Rumi Carter, which, in true Bey fashion, was no ordinary snap. With a serene coastal backdrop and a colorful ensemble of a breathtaking blue and mauve dress and veil, the shot is reminiscent of her epic pregnancy announcement. “Sir Carter and Rumi 1 month today,” the caption read, followed by a string of emojis which included the prayer hands, a heart, a man, a woman, a girl, and two babies. By our count, that would make the twins’ birthday June 14, several days before the internet got wind of the birth. Just look at those teeny little faces!

2.Spider-Man: Homecoming costars Zendaya and Tom Holland addressed dating rumors in a hilarious way. With reports (via unnamed sources) swirling that Zendaya and Holland sparked a love affair while filming for their new flick, Spider-Man: Homecoming, the duo has chimed in to offer up their two cents. While they didn’t actually confirm or deny the rumors, their reaction WAS rather amusing. “Wait wait…” Zendaya tweeted, along with a link to the rumors. “My favorite is when it says we go on vacations together. HA! I haven’t been on a vacation in years!,” she wrote, complete with crying-laughing emojis. Holland’s reply was equally perfect, with the star joking, “Does the press tour count?” (h/t Cosmo; photo via Robert Marquardt/Getty)

3. Barb from Stranger Things got an Emmy nomination and the internet has FEELINGS. Now that the 2017 Emmy nominations are out, Stranger Things‘ Barb is finally getting her vindication for (spoiler alert!) being killed off and forgotten on the show. The Netflix series was one of the most-nominated shows with 18 (!) nominations, one of which was an Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series nod for Barb, AKA Shannon Purser. While some people seemed confused that Purser was recognized when Winona Ryder was not, the cult of Barb celebrated the victory, claiming “justice.” The Emmys will take place on September 17, and Stranger Things season two drops on Netflix on October 27. (h/t Mashable)

4. Kid Rock hints that he may actually be running for US Senate. Earlier this week, musician Kid Rock launched the kidrockforsenate.com website, and people seemed confused as to whether it was a publicity stunt for upcoming music, a ploy to sell merchandise or, well, the real deal. Kid — whose real name is Robert James Ritchie — penned a blog post to say that he still had time to file paperwork with the Federal Elections Committee to make it official, and that he would be simultaneously releasing new tunes. “Like politicians write books during their campaigns, I’m planning on putting out music during mine,” he wrote (he released two new songs and announced a tour at midnight). “It’s not a hoax, it’s a strategy, and marketing 101!” With more celebrities’ names, like The Rock, being thrown in the political ring, nothing about this would surprise us. (h/t People)

5.Bridezillasis the latest TV show to get a revival and we can’t WAIT. TV reboots are all the rage — from Gilmore Girls to Fuller House and, most recently, Will and Grace, what’s old is definitely new again. It’s not often that a reality series is brought back from the dead (though we’re still holding out for a Jersey Shore reunion show), but WE tv has some seriously exciting news for fans in 2018: the return of Bridezillas! “Years after saying goodbye to our last Bridezilla, we have been asked consistently to bring this show back by viewers and fans,” We tv president Marc Juris said in a statement. E! reports that casting is currently underway for 10 new hour-long episodes of total wedding meltdown territory, and TBH, it can’t come fast enough. (h/t E!)

6. Quote of the day: “Creativity is intelligence having fun.” Albert Einstein knew what he was talking about.

There are a lot of celebrity couples we love (Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce! Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom!), but if you ask me, nobody handles having a relationship in the spotlight like Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. This hilarious duo protects their kids, but they're also always down for a good time.

The couple first met in 2010 while filming Green Lantern, which has quickly become regarded as Ryan Reynolds' worst movie (the actor said he'd "genuinely rather watch just a f—ing 24-hour marathon of PAW Patrol). But, in addition to the fact I didn't think the movie was all that bad, it also gave the world the gift of Ryan & Blake's relationship. The couple quickly fell in love, tying the knot in 2010. Since then, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have had four children (James, Inez, Betty, and Olin), launched a variety of brands like Betty Buzz, Aviation Gin, and Blake Brown Beauty, and given Hollywood some of its most iconic movies — all while supporting and praising one another. Keep reading for their full relationship timeline.

How did Blake and Ryan meet?

2010 — Blake Lively And Ryan Reynolds Meet While Filming Green Lantern

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds met on the Green Lantern set. After they filmed the movie, they ended up going out with other people, but hitting it off with each other.

"We were buddies for a long time, which I think is the best way to have a relationship, to start as friends," Ryan Reynolds said in an interview with SiriusXM's Entertainment Weekly Radio in 2016. "About a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and we were both single, we went on a double date — she was on a date with another guy, and I was on a date with another girl — and it was like the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across."

Their relationship quickly evolved to the one we know and love today!

"In 2010, @robliefeld drew an unmasked Lady Deadpool for the first time," she says on Instagram. "@deadpoolmovie wasn’t real. And Rob had no idea I was working with @vancityreynolds. 12 years later I read Rob’s post. A year after that, @deadpoolmovie 3 was filmed. And today it’s in theaters. The universe has such a magical sense of humor sometimes."

Yes, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have been in the same movies! After meeting during the production of Green Lantern, Blake Lively has a role as an imaginary friend in Ryan Reynolds' IF. This spring movie follows Ryan Reynolds' character and his neighbor Bea, who set out to save all the imaginary friends. Jay-Z’s new album is here and Corinne Olympios’ BIP investigation is over in this morning’s top news stories. Check those and more out in the TGIF Morning Buzz!

1. When Beyoncé released the amazing Lemonade, many presumed it to insinuate that husband, Jay-Z, was being unfaithful. The album even launched the now infamous Beckygate witch hunt, which had fans clamoring to find out the identity of his would-be extra-marital partner. The two, now parents to twin newborns, are obviously still going strong, but on Jay-Z’s new album 4:44, it sounds like he’s finally addressing everything from his suspected cheating on Bey (who also appears on the album), to that infamous fight with Solange in an elevator. The album’s title track is particularly telling, with lyrics such as, “And if my children knew, I don’t even know what I would do. If they ain’t look at me the same, I would probably die with all the shame. You did what with who? What good is a ménage à trois when you have a soulmate? You risked that for Blue?” Jay himself was vague about song meanings in an interview with iHeartRadio, but its streaming the album for free all day today before being hidden behind a Tidal paywall, so you’ve got lots of time to dig in and listen for yourself. (h/t USA Today; photo via Mike Coppola/Getty)

2. Corinne Olympios’ Bachelor in Paradise investigation has concluded.BIP recently resumed filming after Warner Brothers closed their investigation and found no misconduct, but Corinne Olympios and her lawyer moved forward with their own investigation into the matter. Now, she has issued a statement saying the investigation has been completed to her satisfaction. She also clarified that she “never filed complaints or accusations against anyone associated with Bachelor in Paradise,” but based on the fact that she had no recollection of what transpired and that she felt “victimized by the fact that others were judging me through conflicting and unsubstantiated reports,” she wanted to see the investigation through. Olympios said that while she was invited back to BIP when production resumed, she respectfully declined. (h/t E!; photo via Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty)

3. Venus Williams was involved in a fatal car crash. Days before she is set to start in Wimbledon, it has been revealed that Venus Williams was involved in a car crash that resulted in a death earlier this month. The NYT reports that a 78-year-old man being driven by his wife was injured in the accident, and that he died two weeks later. The Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, incident is under investigation, and police said in a report on the crash that Williams was at fault. Her lawyer, Malcolm Cunningham, maintains that she has not been cited or charged. “Ms. Williams entered the intersection on a green light,” Cunningham said in a statement. “The police report estimates that Ms. Williams was traveling at 5mph when Mrs. Barson crashed into her. Authorities did not issue Ms. Williams with any citations or traffic violations. This is an unfortunate accident, and Venus expresses her deepest condolences to the family who lost a loved one.” (h/t New York Times; photo via Al Bello/Getty)

4. Jared Padalecki’s sweet letter to his kids is the feel-good read of the weekend. Supernatural and Gilmore Girls star Jared Padalecki penned a post-Father’s Day note thanking his three children for turning his world upside down — in the best way possible. In fact, his wife Genevieve Cortese was so taken with the letter, she posted it on her blog for all of us to share in. “I realize Father’s Day was supposed to be about…. well… ‘fathers,'” he wrote, “but I wanted to take this opportunity, after my FIFTH fathers day (and counting), not to say ‘you’re welcome,’ but to say ‘thank you.'” Padalecki listed things that by all means could be awful (“You’ve peed on me, pooped on me, and vomited on me”), before offering up more special, meaningful moments. “You’ve taught me more than any mentor or teacher ever could,” he says. “I have your back. Now and always.” SNIFF. Grab your tissues and dive into the whole thing right here.

5. The Jumanji remake trailer is here and Jack Black plays a teenage girl. In the first official trailer for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, we see Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan become avatars for the high school kids playing the weird old Jumanji video game. Frankly, just hearing Jack Black say “I can’t even with this place,” already has us sold. It’s not out until December 22, but check the trailer out above!

6. Quote of the day: “I too look forward to the day when the numbers are different.” Gillian Anderson calls out the fact that the X-Files writer’s room is made entirely of men, finishing with a timely #TheFutureIsFemale.

Channing Tatum may have to hang up his sexy dancing skills because it looks like Chad Michael Murray is the new reigning champ in his new film, The Merry Gentlemen. You can tell it's going to be a Christmas movie, but we're not talking about Home Alone or Jingle All the Way here. This spicy film feels more like Magic Mike going on a sexy and romantic journey through a small town — which sounds like something we'd watch more than once.

We love watching Chad Michael Murray in Sullivan's Crossing, but we're excited we get to see him prance around our screens without a shirt in the new trailer for The Merry Gentlemen, TBH. Here's everything we know about the upcoming film and what we can expect to see!

What's 'The Merry Gentlemen' about?

Katrina Marcinowski/Netflix

Written by Marla Sokoloff, The Merry Gentlemen is set to follow one former dancer's (Ashley played by Britt Robertson) journey to making sure the Rhythm Room — a "performing arts venue" — doesn't go defunct. It's owned by her parents, so she has personal ties to this small-town source of entertainment, coming up with the bright idea to surprise the community with an "all-male Christmas-theme revue."

Who's starring in 'The Merry Gentlemen'?

Katrina Marcinowski/Netflix

According to Netflix, The Merry Gentlemenwill feature a host of other faces! We'll see the following:

  • Chad Michael Murray as Luke
  • Britt Robertson as Ashley
  • Michael Gross as Stan
  • Marla Sokoloff as Marie
  • Maxwell Caulfield as Danny
  • Beth Broderick as Lily
  • Marc Anthony Samuel as Roger
  • Hector Rivera, Jr. as Ricky
  • Colt Prattes as Troy

When can we watch 'The Merry Gentlemen' on Netflix?

Katrina Marcinowski/Netflix

We'll be able to see Chad Michael Murray and more sexy shirtless men give us a show on November 20. We're not sure what it is, but there's nothing like watching Christmas movies right before Thanksgiving to get us in the winter spirit.

What have Chad Michael Murray and Britt Robertson said about starring in 'The Merry Gentlemen?'

Katrina Marcinowski/Netflix

We didn't think it was possible, but Chad Michael Murray was a little nervous about playing Luke. "I'd never danced professionally or trained by any means," he said (via PEOPLE). Though he has a thing for "going out and dancing," he's never done anything "to this level."

As to why he chose this role, Chad seems to enjoy a challenge. "When I see something and it scares the crap out of me, something in me says, 'Alright, well let's see what we can do.'" He has two thoughts — "'I'm going to fall flat on my face or have a lot of fun doing.'" If you ask us, that's the right spirit to have for a fun Christmas movie.

Britt Robertson was immediately drawn to the script and her role as Ashley. "When I read the script, I was like, ‘This is my kind of Christmas movie,'" she said (via Netflix). She also teased why she can't get enough of the cowboy appeal in the movie. "...I'm Southern...the hats, the boots. There's so much you can work with."

We're slightly ashamed to say how many times we've watched this funny and sexy trailer for The Merry Gentlemen. We've always thought Chad Michael Murray was everything a dream boyfriend should be, but now we have proof he's raising the bar!

Jennifer Lawrence announced she's pregnant, and we couldn't be happier for her! Though she and her husband, Cooke Maroney, aren't known for being in the public eye too much, it seems like this is one piece of news they don't mind sharing! Sorry, but we haven't been this excited about baby news since Suki Waterhouse and Robert Pattinson became parents — excuse us while we celebrate!

Here's everything we know about baby number 2 so far.

Has Jennifer Lawrence debuted her baby bump yet?

Anna Webber/Getty Images for AFI

YES! Jennifer Lawrence's baby bump was the star of the Zurawski v Texas premiere (via PEOPLE). She wore a structured white dress with a black belt around her waist that accentuated her cute baby bump and appeared to be glowing.

According to Deadline, she's one of the executive producers of Zurawski v Texas, a documentary that sheds light on the "restrictive abortion laws" that put women's lives in danger in Texas. Alongside producers Hilary and Chelsea Clinton, Jennifer's involvement in the documentary as a pregnant woman makes a pivotal statement during a time where mothers' mortalities aren't always considered during their pregnancies.

When did Jennifer Lawrence announce her second pregnancy?

Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images for BFI

Leave it to Vogue to get the exclusive scoop about Jennifer being pregnant again! According to the publication, an official "representative for the actor confirmed" the news yesterday, October 20. So exciting!

When is Jennifer Lawrence's second baby due?

Kevin Mazur

Jennifer Lawrence hasn't announced her due date yet, so we can't be quite sure! However, if she's out of her first trimester, Jennifer could have her baby around April 2025!

What have Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney said about their family?

John Phillips/Getty Images for Sony Pictures

It seems Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney were open to the idea of having another baby as recently as this summer! An unknown source told Entertainment Tonight, "Jennifer and Cooke are doing very well and are super in love. They make each other laugh and have the best time parenting together. They would love to have another kid and expand their family."

When was Jennifer Lawrence's first baby born?

Sebastian Reuter/Getty Images for Sony Pictures

Jennifer and Cooke's firstborn son, Cy, was born February 2022, which means he's almost three years old!

The actress later explored her feeling about becoming a mom in another Vogueinterview. "It’s so scary to talk about motherhood. Only because it’s so different for everybody. If I say, It was amazing from the start, some people will think, 'It wasn’t amazing for me at first,' and feel bad. Fortunately I have so many girlfriends who were honest. Who were like, It’s scary," she said.

What has Jennifer Lawrence said about being a mom?

Amy Sussman/Getty Images

It seems like Jennifer found her stride because she's apparently embraced being a mom. She hasn't said anything recently, but she did speak with Entertainment Tonight last year during the promotion of No Hard Feelings about her parenting habits. "Of course, the urge to stop anything from ever hurting or negatively affecting your baby..." she said.

However, co-star Andrew Barth Feldman had nothing but positive words to share about Jennifer as a mom. "Jen is an amazing mother, for real. That was kind of one of the incredible things about doing this with you is seeing just how much of a priority being a mother is for you and how deeply you care about that over everything," he said.

We can't wait to see how Jennifer's second pregnancy develops and hope she's willing to give us a little sneak peek of how she's prepping to have two young kids!
