NBC Is Bringing Back ‘Timeless’ One More Time

What a roller coaster! After being canceled by NBC at the end of its first season in 2017, Timeless got a reprieve and returned for season 2 this past March — only to be canceled again in June. At the time of its second cancellation, though, there were rumors that the studio was in talks to finish off the series with a movie.

Now it’s official. The network announced today, July 31, that it would un-cancel the show one more time for a two-part series finale to air over the holidays.

“While we wish we could’ve made another dozen seasons of Timeless, this is the next best thing,” the show’s creators Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke said in a joint statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “We’re thrilled to take the lifeboat out for one last spin and bring closure to our story. The studio, network, cast, and crew are all doing this for one reason only: the fans. Because they deserve it. Because the fans made this happen and we thank them for their passion, support, and helicopters.”

Timeless fans, who call themselves “Clockblockers,” are indeed a devoted bunch. They’re the reason NBC brought back the show from its first cancellation last year. “We heard from the fans and didn’t want to be on the wrong side of history,” NBC said at the time.

The cast has expressed gratitude for Clockblockers, too. And they’re all on board for the finale. Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, Goran Višnjić, Paterson Joseph, Sakina Jaffrey, and Claudia Doumit are scheduled for the two-parter, which is set to air over the holidays.

“We’re excited to tell one final chapter to this incredible story,” Lisa Katz, NBC co-president of scripted programming, said in a statement. “A huge thank you to all — our cast, crew, producers, and partners at Sony — who have worked so very hard, and to the fans who kept us on our toes and made sure we did our very best week after week.”

Fans no doubt hope that the show will resolve the cliffhanger that ended season 2, when future Lucy and Wyatt showed up to ask their past selves if the team wanted to help save a recently killed Rufus.

“So,” Ryan and Kripke said in their statement, echoing Lucy’s words in the season 2 finale. “You guys want to get Rufus back or what?”

Do you ever have that dress that you're utterly obsessed with, but you're saving it for a special occasion because you want it to have its own moment? That was me with the Esme Dusty Pink Plissé Kaftan Dress. It's a beautiful gown that wasn't my usual style, given its modest cut and color, so I was saving it for a moment that I wanted to try something new!

I recently pulled it out for a wedding, and I instantly felt like a princess — and had a bit of a viral momenton Tiktok. The modest cut of the dress, although out of my normal style, made me feel so classy! Since I fell in love with the look so much, I decided to embark on finding some similar options for future weddings this year. So, if you're also obsessed with a more modest style —, particularly kaftans and abaya-inspired dresses — then let's get into the recs!

What is a kaftan or abaya?

Kayla Walden

An abaya, sometimes known as a kaftan, is a modest garment normally worn by Muslim women. And while this is specific to their religion, I've spoken to many Muslim women who have said that they love to see other women embrace their culture and wear the modest, loose-fitting garments! The dress I'm wearing pictured above is actually similar to a butterfly-abaya, which is loose-fitting on the body with wide sleeves, but has a tie to snatch in your waist a bit. This makes it technically not an exact abaya, because it's a little more form fitting, but the style is very similar!

If you love that style too, we have some kaftans and other dresses that are quite similar to the style as well!

Esme

Esme Lace Kaftan Dress

The original dress I wore unfortunately sold out entirely after my post, but the brand has one that's super similar with lace detailing on the sleeves. I find this style to be so stunning and graceful — it's sure to make you feel like a princess as well!

Anthropologie

Hutch Column Maxi Dress

The color palette of this dress is perfect for autumn with the burgundy, rust, and neutrals. The looseness of this silk gown helps to stay true to the modest and classy theme we're going of with these looks, too. It also has the butterfly sleeve that I'm so obsessed with that comes across very ethereal and elegant!

Nordstrom

Farm Rio Kaftan Dress

Who says wedding guest dress shopping for modest looks has to be boring? This feather-trim kaftan proves to be anything but boring — especially paired with the fun, floral pattern draping the gown. It's probably one of my favorite modest options to still feel fun and fashionable with your choices.

Mango

Mango Satin Dress

In the mood to feel like Cinderella this wedding season? This modest dress is the perfect combo between a princess-like vibe and a beautiful winter blue! I could see this dress gracing the wedding dance floor of any winter weddings you may have coming up this year.

Banana Republic

Banana Republic Abigail Silk Dress

The word is out: fuchsia is in for the fall. This gorgeous shade of fuchsia is just a hint brighter than your typical autumn burgundies, and I think it's just divine! Not only would it work for fall, but I totally see it also as a great winter color as well. The long sleeves and loose fit make it a perfect contender for a modest look, while obviously still seeming so chic.

Amazon

ZESICA Long Knit Dress

Forest green is one of my favorite autumnal and winter shades — it looks so flattering on so many different skin tones! This dress has the trending "drop waist" that I've been looking for in all my dresses lately. It elongates your body to help make you look taller. And don't we all love that! Additionally, this dress is under $45, so run to add it to your cart!

Anthropologie

Significant Other Demi Dress

I normally steer away from oranges shades — as a redhead they can sometimes clash with my hair— but this burnt orange is one I would risk everything for. I mean, just look at how divine the rich, orange color is! I'm in love with the balloon sleeves on this modest dress as well; they'll make you feel so regal! Definitely pick this one up to style with gold accessories like above.

Amazon

Hiyan Creation Kaftan Dress

Another amazing Amazon find, but this one is only $30! Can you even believe it? This looks like it was taken right from Tôteme's catalogue! It's giving timeless, chic, and elevated luxe. This dress will truly have people asking you how you got the quiet luxury, Sofia Richie look on a budget!

H&M

H&M Balloon Sleeve Dress

Burnt orange is a trend this season, I see! The color is making waves in the high-end and low-end world, and I can't say I mind! This dress, specifically, is a favorite of mine. Not only because it's affordability, but also because it looks very boho chic and western. Pair with some heeled boots and a boho-style bag, and you'll definitely be labeled as the "fashion girly" at the wedding. To get a more modest look with this sheer dress, be sure to add a maxi slip dress underneath!

Nordstrom

Diarrablu Maxi Dress

This one is a great go-to if you tend to opt for a darker color palette with simpler and more luxe look. It reminds me of some of the pieces I'm seeing in high-end stores like The Row and Khaite. This silk number would be great paired with some classic black or metallic silver pumps, and a matching silver bag to accessorize the look!

Mango

Mango Printed Turtleneck Dress

Mango is a great place to find wedding guest dresses that are extremely high quality, yet not too pricey. The pieces are always perfectly on trend — like this printed turtleneck dress here — and also so wearable that you'll be holding onto them for many seasons to come! This Mango dress is another example of how dressing modestly does not have to be boring. Grab some fun, printed heels and a yellow bag for an exciting wedding guest look!

Nordstrom

Nordstrom WAYF Cassandra Dress

This simple, yet elegant option is hitting the mark on all the modest requirements. It's flowy, long-sleeved, and hitting right above your ankles. The floral green is also giving me serious Folklore vibes, so if anyone needs an outfit for T-Swift, this one's got you covered!

Cider

Cider Satin Long Sleeve Dress

We have another great, affordable option with this dress from Cider that's under $45! Shopping for weddings can sometimes seem really overwhelmingly, because you have to shop based on season, occasion, type of wedding, and avoiding their wedding colors; there's a lot of rules as a wedding guest of do's and don'ts. So I like to shop affordably most of the time, to keep from having the issue of never wearing the dress again. This is a dress that you don't have to stress about the price, but that you could also wear again! The color and cut is so flattering, and definitely hitting the mark for modesty!

If you’re one of those people who lives to create show-stopping couples costumes with your S.O. every year, then you’re in luck, because Harley Quinn and the Joker from Suicide Squad are the couple of the year, with their oddly heartfelt, twisted unity. Especially thanks to Joker 2 (okay, I know it's not the same Joker and Harley Quinn, but anything is possible in the multiverse, right?)

These two each have a chaotic history individually, but when the stars aligned to create their serendipitous love story, we couldn’t help but have a little empathy and fall in love with this quirky, villainous couple. This is what happens when being bad feels and looks so good! Read on for our costume tips and tricks.

Brit + Co

It doesn't get more twisted than this!

Harley Quinn Costume

Brit + Co

You can choose to buy or DIY this look, or do a little of both (which I recommend). Think about time versus money for each piece and then decide what’s best for you. I will say that the wig, shirt, choker, glove, tights, and holster were super clutch to purchase. I did some finessing to make them look even more authentic.

For the rest of the look, I got items that were close, and then made the pieces I couldn’t find, like the shorts, shoes and various accessories. You can get the full lowdown on how I made the Harley Quinn costume here. Either way, once you build the look (hair and makeup included), simply get into character. I found this oddly natural for me to do (it’s one of those costumes that takes you there, ya know?!).

Joker Costume

Brit + Co

Believe it or not, all I had to purchase here was the maroon shirt, which I found at a thrift store. Zane owned the rest and your boo probably does too. This look is really about the makeup. You can get the full Joker tutorial here.

How to Be the Villainous Power Couple

Brit + Co

Depending on your mood and the type of party you’re attending, you can bring along some fun accessories. The trick to this look truly is getting into character. Zane had way too much fun with this knife! Yikes.

The perfect amount of crazy, sexy, and weird all wrapped into one look!

Good news for those of you who are already growing tired of pumpkin spice season: Starbucks’ holiday menu for 2024 was just leaked, and it reportedly brings back a ton of seasonal favorites starting next month!

From a classic Peppermint Mocha to the beloved Caramel Brûlée Latte, the recent menu rumors say a new Refresher flavor, 6 unique cold foams, and 4 new bakery items are on the way as the holidays draw near – including many items we predicted. This lineup is honestly wild. The new additions are rumored to hit Starbucks stores on November 7.

If you just can’t wait to order off the Starbucks holiday menu, here’s every offering reportedly coming to your closest cafe!

Drinks

@markie_devo

NEW! Cran-Merry Orange Refresher

The Starbucks holiday menu leak reports that this brand-new Refresher is packed with sweet orange, tart cranberry and warm spice. It also has cranberry inclusions and is order-able mixed with water, lemonade or coconut milk.

Starbucks

Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai

Chai is a totally underrated holiday flavor in our opinion. This iced drink is crafted with warm chai spices and creamy oat milk, then gets topped with even more frothed oat milk infused with gingerbread-flavored syrup and a sprinkling of spice.

Starbucks

Peppermint Mocha

You know it, and you love it! The Peppermint Mocha has hit Starbucks menus year after year, making it a total statement sip for the holiday season. This drink (available hot or iced) combines peppermint syrup, mocha sauce, and your milk of choice with espresso for a festive feel. It's traditionally topped with whipped cream and tasty chocolate curls.

Starbucks

Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha

Similar to the classic Peppermint Mocha, this bev swaps chocolate for white chocolate sauce.

Starbucks

Caramel Brûlée Latte

This rumored Starbucks holiday menu drink is very rich. The sweet caramel brûlée sauce totally completes the sip, along with plenty of whipped cream and crunchy lil' brûlée bits for textural variety.

Starbucks

Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte

Literally like a sugar cookie in liquid form, this super-sweet latte is handcrafted with blonde espresso (it's sweeter and lighter than Starbucks' traditional espresso shots), sugar cookie syrup, and almond milk for a little bit of a lighter effect. It's finished off with red and green sprinkles to up the seasonal vibes even more!

Starbucks

Chestnut Praline Latte

This nutty latte – rumored to return for 2024 – brings on notes of chestnut and praline, which is a nice, flavorful departure from the very expected peppermint you'll see everywhere come holiday time.

Starbucks

Salted Pecan Crunch Cold Brew

Initially introduced for fall 2024, it appears as though the Salted Pecan Crunch Cold Brew will stay on the Starbucks menu well into winter. The salted, pecan-flavored cold foam offers that classic sweet n' salty twist you'd enjoy on fall snacks like trail mix or dipped pretzels. The best part is you can now also order the cold foam in non-dairy form!

Starbucks

Holiday Cold Foams

Per the menu leak, Starbs will be bringing back four beloved holiday-flavored cold foamsand two new options for 2024. They're the perfect drink customization to add to your iced coffees and cold brews if you don't want to order an all-out holiday drink. See all the predicted flavors below:

  • NEW! Gingerbread
  • NEW! Salted Pecan
  • Peppermint Chocolate
  • Sugar Cookie
  • Chestnut Praline
  • Caramel Brûlée

Snacks

@markie_devo

NEW! Dark Toffee Bundt

Per the menu leak, this sweet toffee-flavored bundt will be topped with holly- and berry-shaped sprinkles. How perfect for the holiday season!

@markie_devo

NEW! Turkey Sage Danish

This savory snack reportedly includes "turkey sausage with creamy béchamel sauce in a pastry." It sounds like Thanksgiving in a single treat, and we can't wait to try it!

@markie_devo

NEW! Penguin Cookie

This cutie sugar cookie is decorated like a lil' penguin bundled up for the cold.

Starbucks

Snowman Cake Pop

Starbucks' classic vanilla cake pop gets a wintry twist with an adorable snowman face – this sweet really makes us crave the holiday season!

Starbucks

Sugar Plum Cheese Danish

This cream cheese-filled danish is topped with a slightly-spiced sugar plum jam. It's been one of our go-to's over the past few holiday seasons at Starbucks!

Starbucks

Cranberry Bliss Bar

The Cranberry Bliss Bar has become an absolute staple on the Starbucks holiday menu, and for good reason! This blondie treat is smothered in a delicious cream cheese frosting and sprinkled with orange zest and dried cranberries for added seasonal enjoyment.

What People Are Saying About The Leaked Starbucks Holiday Menu

Though most commenters on @markie_devo's Starbucks holiday menu leak post seem to be excited for the upcoming rumored menu items, some Starbs fans noticed a few things missing from the leaked lineup.

"Still missing eggnog 😢," someone noted.

"Where is the toasted white chocolate mocha 😢😢😢😢," another questioned.

"ALLLLLL these cold foams, and not the one people want: Irish Cream," one more commenter said.

"Ugh still no gingerbread loaf 😭," a disappointed user wrote. "Everything else looks bomb though!"

Despite the Eggnog Latte, Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, Irish Cream Cold Brew, and Gingerbread loaf not being part of this year's menu predictions, the holiday season is our favorite time of year at Starbucks. Many more users share the same sentiment:

"So excited for all chestnut praline shaken espressos & cranberry bliss bars 🎄🎄🎄🎄," someone wrote.

"Oh hell yess all the chestnut praline offerings," another rejoiced.
