This Netflix Hack Is Everything You Need

Netflix is truly trying to take over our entire social calendar. We thought that after the streaming company revealed its October debuts and departures and shared insight into what episode gets us hooked on a TV series that the Internet entertainment giant would, for lack of a better word, chill, for a sec. We were wrong though. Remember the first time you heard the phrase “Netflix and Chill”? There’s now an official “Netflix and chill” button that you can hack together to bring your binge watching/couch potato activities to the next level.

While it would be uh-mazing if this button was called the “Netflix and chill” button, its official name is actually The Switch (guess we’ll have to save that Urban Dictionary term for Netflxing ;) The Switch, which made its debut at the 2015 World Maker Faire this past weekend, is a prototype all-in-one device to use with the streaming service. Think of it as the universal remote for the Netflix generation.

Not currently available for purchase, this maker-made button is an all-in-one: it can turn on your smart TV, open up the Netflix app, dim your Phillips Hue lights, silence your phone, order you food, etc all with the push of one button. Yes. It is very DIYable (head to The Switch website for instructions). If you have a basic understanding of electronics, web servers and how APIs work, that is ;)

The DIY Netflix companion device (which, in its current state, is a smart wooden box, essentially) is powered by a microcontroller and an infrared transmitter that, when built successfully, syncs with your tech to work together to make your binge marathons chill. Whether you end up watching what’s on your TV’s screen or not is up to you.

P.S. Want to get paid to travel and take pictures of amazing film and TV locations?! Duh, you do! Netflix also has a super cool program for Instagrammers called Grammasters. After you make your own Netflix button, apply STAT!

Do you want to DIY your very own Netflix The Switch button? Let us know in the comments.

Push comes to shove for those of us without cable on the biggest Sunday nights of the year. It can be tough to figure out how to tune into the Emmys, the Oscars, and on February 9, the Super Bowl. This year's game sees the Kansas City Chiefs play against the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans' Caesars Superdome, and the good news is that even if you don't have cable, you can still tune in! Here's how.

Keep reading for how you can stream the Super Bowl for free in 2025.

The 2025 Super Bowl will be streaming on Tubi. The game on Sunday, February 9 begins at 6:30 PM EST, and all you have to do is create an account with Tubi, and you'll be able to watch the pre-coverage, the whole game, and the post-game coverage no sweat.

And the best part is that when you stream the Super Bowl for free on Tubi, you'll still be able to watch the Super Bowl commercials premiering on network TV!

What streaming service has the Super Bowl?

Super Bowl 59 will be streaming on Tubi, which is Fox's free streaming service, instead of the Fox Sports app. That means anyone can log in and watch the game on their device.

Who is going to be the Super Bowl halftime show in 2025?

Kendrick Lamar, who just won five Grammys for his diss track "Not Like Us," will be performing at the Super Bowl halftime show. It's already been confirmed that SZA will make a guest appearance during the performance, but fans are also hoping we could see Taylor Swift show up on the field to sing "Bad Blood" alongside the rapper.

Who's going to be at the Super Bowl?

Speaking of Tay, in addition to football players like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Jalen Hurts, and Saquon Barkley, there's a very good chance she'll be in attendance as well. Last year, Taylor brought celebrity friends like Blake Lively, and this year, rumor has it we could see Blake, Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco, Sabrina Carpenter, and Ice Spice in the box. Now that's one Super Bowl party I'd love to be a part of.

What time does the Super Bowl halftime show start?

Considering how long the first two quarters of a game usually are, it's safe to assume Kendrick Lamar will take the stage around 8:15 PM EST. But if you're not already watching the Super Bowl, keep an eye on X and other social media platforms in case he starts earlier!

Amid Blake Lively & Justin Baldoni's legal battle, their It Ends With Us costars have stayed relatively quiet, but on February 17, Brandon Sklenar (who played Atlas opposite Blake's Lily and Justin's Ryle) was straight-up asked if he's Team Blake or Team Justin. The question shocked me a little, TBH, given the internet's discussion around whether the PR for the movie trivialized its themes of domestic violence, but Brandon handled the q like a champ.

Here's what Brandon Sklenar said about being Team Blake Lively or Team Justin Baldoni amid the It Ends With Us legal battle.

Brandon Sklenar wants audiences to "remember why we made" 'It Ends With Us.'

In a conversation ahead of 1923 season 2, which drops on Paramount+ February 23, Brandon revealed that he just wants "people to remember why we made the movie in the first place and what it stands for, and just keeping the focus on that."

The film follows Lily Bloom, who finds herself in the middle of a very complex and dangerous relationship. "That movie meant so much to me, and I have someone very, very close to me in my life who's gone through what Lily's going through for a long time and I've been on the front lines helping her navigate that space," Brandon continues. "Me doing that film gave her the strength to change her life...It's unfortunate that things get taken away from what the ethos of [the movie] is and gets convoluted, and I just want to remind people of why that thing exists in the first place."

But is he Team Blake or Team Justin? "I'm Team It Ends With Us," Brandon tells CBS Mornings co-host Gayle King.

And it's not the first time Brandon Sklenar has spoken up.

This isn't the first time Brandon Sklenar has spoken on the feud between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. After Blake's legal team published a story in the New York Times in December 2024, alleging that Justin has sexually harassed her and orchestrated a smear campaign against her, the 1923 actor shared the link on his Instagram story on December 23, telling his followers, "For the love of god read this," alongside a red heart and Blake Lively's Instagram handle.

Brandon also took to his Instagram stories after the movie premiered in August 2024, saying "What may or may not have happened behind the scenes does not and hopefully should not detract from what our intentions were in making this film."

"There isn't a single person involved in the making of this film that was not aware of the responsibility we had in making this," he continues, adding that "villifying" the women involved in bringing the story to life "detracts what this film is about."

"Colleen and the women of this cast stand for hope, perseverance, and for women choosing a better life for themselves," he says.

The best things around the holidays are comforting and familiar. To be surrounded by friends, family, tradition, and delicious Thanksgiving appetizers is just amazing! So, in the spirit of all things warm and cozy, we rounded up 6 of the best Thanksgiving TV episodes from our favorite shows. Whether you’re into old-school Full House shenanigans or the mishaps of Modern Family, these are the six comfort shows that will make you laugh through all throughout Thanksgiving weekend.

Hulu

1. Full House Season 1, Episode 9 "The Miracle of Thanksgiving"

Watch on Hulu: We look back at season one of Full House with fond memories — mostly for this iconic episode wherein Joey constantly announces the arrival of the miracle *cue trumpet sound* of Thanksgiving. It’s not about how good the dinner turns out, it’s the fact that you even tried to roast a turkey.

IMDB

2. Boy Meets World Season 4, Episode 10 "Turkey Day"

Watch on Disney+: After learning about tribal prejudice in Africa, Cory and Shawn decide to combine family celebrations of Thanksgiving. The result is a touching but, of course, funny take on how different families celebrate in different ways. Reaching across the table is the new reaching across the aisle!

IMDB

3. Friends Season 5, Episode 8 "The One With All the Thanksgivings"

Watch on Max: You didn’t think we’d make it through this list without mentioning this iconic Thanksgiving TV episode, did you? It’s the one where the gang relives their terrible Thanksgivings of the past and Monica somehow winds up with a turkey on her head. Classic.

IMDB

4. How I Met Your Mother Season 3, Episode 9 "Slapsgiving"

Watch on Hulu: Every year, Thanksgiving is a great opportunity to honor traditions. Our favorite tradition? Slapsgiving from HIMYM. The episode that started it all — and forever struck fear into Barney’s heart — is our favorite Thanksgiving episode from the nine-season run!

IMDB

5. Modern Family Season 6, Episode 8 "Three Turkeys"

Watch on Hulu: It’s always nice when people pitch in and offer to help, but it can be impossible to know whether or not they’ll follow through. This hysterical holiday episode of Modern Family sees the clan end up *somehow* with three turkeys at the Thanksgiving table. At least there’s plenty of leftovers…

IMDB

6. Gilmore Girls Season 3, Episode 9 "A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving"

Watch on Netflix: If you’re overbooked this Thanksgiving, just consider Lorelai and Rory, who celebrated four Thanksgivings in one day. Of course things go wrong, as they do with everybody’s Thanksgiving. It’s probably one of the most relatable episodes around holiday time.

Audiences loved the way Greta Gerwig's Little Women brought all four March sisters to life, and Netflix's Anne with an E became so popular that when the show was canceled after season 3, 1.7 million fans signed a petition to revive the series. It all just proves that classic adaptations can make the original story even more powerful.

And the newest movie based on a book is going to be one we think about forever — and not just because of its cast. Emerald Fennell (who you'll recognize from The Crown and her work as writer & director on Satburn) is adapting Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights and Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi are leading the cast!

The book, published in 1847, continues to grip readers, and it's become the blueprint for moody complexity — just like Emerald Fennell's Promising Young Woman, which won the Oscar for Best Screenplay thanks to its scathing look at sexual assault. Well, the Em's are coming together for this new adaptation.

Here's everything we know about Emerald Fennell's Wuthering Heights — and your first look at the movie.

Here's Your First Look At 'Wuthering Heights'

The first look at Emerald Fennell's Wuthering Heights is getting some seriously mixed reactions. The photo features a close-up image of someone (maybe Margot Robbie's) with their fingers and a few blades of grass in their mouth.

"CAN NOT WAIT," one Instagram user said, along with a couple fire emojis. But the intimate (and somewhat shocking) image also has some users asking, "what in the saltburn?"

Is Wuthering Heights going to be in theaters?

Focus Features

It appears director Emerald Fennell and producer Margot Robbie are pushing for a theatrical release, which is why they've reportedly turned down a Netflix offer of $150 million.

Despite the fact Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said theatrical releases are "just not our business," and the company has stuck to at-home streaming instead, they did break that pattern for Knives Out: Glass Onion in 2022. The movie appeared in around 600 theaters the day before Thanksgiving, but left a week later ahead of its December 23 debut on the streamer.

Co-CEO Reed Hastings told The Hollywood Reporter that keeping the movie in theaters could have made Netflix more money, but later said they just wanted to "break through the noise" and get movie lovers excited for the film to come to Netflix.

All that to be said, Margot Robbie (whose Barbie made over $1 billion worldwide) and Emerald Fennell (whose Promising Young Woman nabbed her an Oscar win and two other nominations) know how to capture the imaginations of movie lovers everywhere. And it could definitely be in their favor to stick to a theatrical release. Stay tuned for official news on where you can watch Wuthering Heights!

Wuthering Heights Cast

The Wuthering Heights movie will be led by Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie as Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw, respectively. Margot will also produce with her production company LuckyChap, which worked behind the scenes on Emerald Fennell's Saltburn and Promising Young Woman.

While some fans were initially excited about the casting, others were concerned about the fact that in the book, Heathcliff is described as "dark skinned." He also tells Nelly that, "I wish I had light hair and a fair skin, and was dressed, and behaved as well, and had a chance of being as rich as he will be!" Um, it looks like Jacob Elordi definitely has fair skin to me.

"Heathcliff is described as a dark-skinned brown man in the book and a major plot point is that he was subjected to racist abuse by his adopted family," one tweet (which has over 8 million views) says. "But yeah sure Jacob Elordi is perfect!"

Another says, "Film studios will say 'We are committed to diverse casting' and then cast Jacob Elordi to play Heathcliff, one of the more famous people of color in literature, whose race is crucial to both his character and the story."

Check back here to see who will play characters like Edgar Linton, Nelly Dean, Isabella Linton, and Lockwood.

When is Wuthering Heights coming out?

Wuthering Heights Release Date

Wuthering Heights will premiere on February 14, 2026. Happy Valentine's Day!

Wuthering Heights Plot

Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights follows the Earnshaws and the Lintons, who are living in the Yorkshire Moors in the 1880s. Their lives change forever when the Earnshaws take in Heathcliff. Like any good dramatic novel, passion lies beneath proper connections, marriages, and societal expectations — and despite Catherine and Heathcliffe's feelings for each other, they have to choose between security and love.
