These New Game Shows Come With Major Star Power — and Some Wild Stunts

Justin Timberlake is adding another line to his résumé: game show producer. At the TCA summer press tour on Thursday, August 2, Fox announced three new competition shows that will premiere during the 2018-2019 season, and each one comes with a heavy dose of Timberlake-caliber star power.

The “Man of the Woods” singer is acting as executive producer on Spin the Wheel, a new series hosted by Dax Shepard. According to Variety, contestants will compete for large cash prizes in a game that involves an unpredictable 40-foot wheel. We know — Wheel of Fortune and The Price Is Right have giant wheels, too. But on this new show, competitors will have to answer trivia questions, and while right answers may help them earn money, wrong answers put them in danger of losing everything.

“This show is massive on so many levels and has the ability to change people’s lives,” Fox’s Rob Wade told Variety. “We have a charismatic and hilarious host in Dax, an uber-producer in Andrew [Glassman], an insanely creative global superstar in Justin, and one of the biggest prizes in primetime history. We can’t wait to Spin the Wheel.”

Shepard can’t wait, either. “I can’t think of a better job than giving out millions of dollars to nice people,” he said. “It’s my chance to finally be Willy Wonka.”

Shepard isn’t the only one with a new hosting gig, though. Fox also announced that Nick Cannon, who hosted America’s Got Talent from 2009 until 2016, will lead The Masked Singer, which is set to premiere in January 2019. Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke will serve as panelists.

The show, which is based on a South Korean series, will feature celebrities going head-to-head in a singing competition. However, each contestant will be dressed in an elaborate costume (including a mask) to hide their identity from the host, panelists, audience, and viewers at home. Every week, one person will be eliminated — at which time they’ll reveal themselves.

Rob Lowe is getting into the game show game, too, with a new competition series called Mental Samurai. Contestants must answer questions in categories including knowledge, memory, numbers, and sequencing — and while their brains are getting a mental workout, their bodies will be “transported around the set at high speeds in a specially designed capsule that is capable of rotating 360 degrees,” according to Variety.

“When I was 15, I won big on The $10,000 Pyramid,” Lowe said. “I’ve loved mental competition shows ever since. For me, Mental Samurai is addicting. Every time you play, you think: ‘This time I’m gonna win!’ But this very simple game is almost impossible to crack.”

Yep, 'The White Lotus' Season 4 Is Already On Its Way!

The White Lotus season 3 isn't even out yet (new episodes drop on Max February 16, FYI), but fans just got a major piece of good news: The White Lotus season 4 is officially coming our way! HBO confirmed the news on January 22, announcing that production on the new season would hopefully begin in 2026. So we can rest easy as we go into season 3; we don't have to worry about a cancellation & unresolved cliffhangers! And after you finish season 3, you can check out the other New TV Shows To Watch In February.

Yes, we're officially getting a The White Lotus season 4! It was confirmed near the end of January 2025, ahead of the season 3 release, and I couldn't be happier. Varietyconfirmed that HBO is hoping to start filming in 2026.

"Good news travels fast," the official social media announcement reads. "#TheWhiteLotus is excited to welcome you to a new destination."

What is The White Lotus season 4 about?

There's no word on what The White Lotus season 4 will be about — or where it will take place — but creator Mike White already has some ideas, according to HBO's Casey Bloys (via Variety). “Mike, obviously — if he wants to move forward and do the four seasons — he will do the fourth season,” Casey said.

One X user tweeted that, "We need a winter themed season," and I can't agree more. The only thing messier than summer vacation drama? Drama in Aspen.

Okay so what about the cast?

If you're a White Lotus fan, you know we get a new characters every season, and fans are already dreaming up the next cast list. Names like Pedro Pascal, Regina Hall, Pamela Anderson, and Nicola Coughlan have been thrown around, to which I say HECK YES. I'm still holding out for Madelyn Cline too!

When is The White Lotus season 4 coming out?

We don't have an official release date yet, but considering The White Lotus season 2 was filmed and released in 2022, there's a very good chance that if they begin production on The White Lotus season 4 in early 2026, we'll see episodes that same year!

Surprise! We Finally Have An Official Trailer For ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3

The White Lotus season 3 is finally on its way, and it is, without a doubt, one of my most-anticipated 2025 TV shows. And we finally have an official release date! The new 8-episode season is coming even sooner than I could have hoped for, and there are plenty of sexy surprises in store.

In addition to the highly-anticipated return of Natasha Rothwell's Belinda, we're also going to meet characters played by Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Aimee Lou Wood. Talk about a stacked cast! I can't wait to watch the new episodesthis February, but this trailer is definitely holding me over for now!

The White Lotus season 3 is coming February 16, 2025. This season we're headed to Thailand (after season 1 took us to Hawaii and season 2 took us to Italy), but amidst the stress-management meditation and incredible food, our cast is dealing with plenty of secrets, testing their limits throughout their week-long vacation.

"What happens in Thailand stays in Thailand," is the perfect way to open the trailer for this (likely) debaucherous new season. There's a lot to unpack throughout this almost 3-minute video. Here's what we noticed:

  • The Thailand White Lotus property is stunning! Every season makes me want to book a vacation ASAP.
  • Belinda looks gorgeous — so happy to see our girl thriving!
  • We're getting a classic White Lotus family with kids who clearly have nothing in common or want anything to do with their family.
  • Responding to "I hope you enjoy Thailand," with "We usually go to the Caribbean" is that perfect White Lotus humor I live for. It's not in your face, but it gets the point across so well.
  • Belinda's there to learn and "bring the magic back to Maui." (Could this mean we get a return to the Hawaii resort in a future season?!)
  • Aimee Lou Wood and Walter Goggins playing a multi-generational couple is perfect — especially with little details like Aimee saying Walter should get a facial because someone thought he was her dad. Incredible.
  • "It means we're not dead yet," is such good foreshadowing given what we know about this show.
  • "I think the cosmos brought us together," is more amazing White Lotus writing — these characters are always kooky, eccentric, and so addictive.
  • "We're poor now and daddy's going to prison" is a classic White Lotus character problem. You can't help but love to laugh at the incredulous Rich People Problems on this show!
  • It looks like all the crime described on the island sets up the potential for lots of different whodunnit murder scenarios we could end up with. I have a feeling we'll all be shocked at how this story turns up from who ends up in the body bag to who puts them there.
  • "Someone once said, 'The secret to life is knowing when to stop.'"
  • Oh and we get a new version of the theme song! I'm sure it'll be stuck in our collective brain for many months to come!

The teaser trailer gave us a glimpse at this exciting season back in December 2024.

"Everyone runs from pain towards pleasure," the teaser trailer voiceover said. "But they get there only to find more pain." The montage of late-night parties and unsettling shots like Parker Posey staring down the camera (and someone grilling a live crab until it catches on fire??) have me convinced The White Lotus season 3 is going to serve us an insane helping of both pain and pleasure.

We also got shots of Patrick Schwarzenegger lounging by the pool, Jason Isaacs taking a paranoid stroll through the jungle, and a coupled-up Aimee Lou Wood and Walton Goggins celebrating the fact their vacation didn't kill them.

And creator Mike White says 'The White Lotus' season 3 is going to be bigger than ever.

We know that The White Lotus season 3 is going to be the biggest season yet, thanks to interviews with the creator and crew. “It’s going to be a supersized White Lotus,” creator Mike White said in an interview with EW. “It’s going to be longer, bigger, crazier. I don’t know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that’s a good thing…I’m super excited about the content of the season.”

And he's not the only one. Natasha Rothwell told PEOPLE that "White Lotus is going to give you a run for your money.”

"It's an excellent season and people are going to be very pleased," she continues. There's always something special about a third season thanks to the combination of familiarity and brand-new adventures, and the seductive intrigue The White Lotus season 3 is already proving my point.

The first major change? Free refills. Yep – Starbucks is offering free refills to customers who order their drinks “for here.” The only drinks eligible for this new offer are brewed coffee (hot or iced) and brewed tea (hot or iced).

All “for here” orders will be handed off in a Starbucks ceramic mug or glass, or a clean personal cup if you choose to bring one along.

The new process sadly excludes regular cold brew, nitro cold brew, any Iced Tea Lemonade, flavored iced teas, and Starbucks Refreshers.

Secondly, the condiment bar is finally back at participating Starbucks stores! This means you can customize your own drink on your own terms with an array of creamers, milks, and sweeteners.

The Starbucks condiment bar essentially disappeared during COVID out of safety concerns, so this year will mark the first time it’s back in cafes in just about 5 years! As someone who almost always craves a sweeter drink, this news is so nice since it will streamline my coffee runs.

These two new changes (“coffeehouse amenities” as Starbucks calls them) are likely Starbucks' latest move in their ‘back to Starbucks’ initiative. New CEO Brian Niccol first surfaced the idea in an open letter to Starbucks partners, customers and stakeholders in September 2024, stating that he’d be “refocusing on what has always set Starbucks apart.” He noted that one of the first steps would be investing in technology that improves the customer experience.
