Make The Season Bright With Paige DeSorbo & Hannah Berner's Favorite Holiday Events

Paige DeSorbo Hannah Berner holiday events

With all this talk about holiday parties, it can make those of us who typically experience JOMO — the joy of missing out — consider what could actually excite us to leave the house. For besties Paige DeSorbo and Hannah Berner, there's nothing better than finding events that fit the bill. It's the main reason they've teamed up with Eventbrite to bring you their "GTFO & Celebrate" campaign! Known for being the go to destination for unique and local events, Eventbrite allows people to have fun on a budget.

It's one of the many reasons Paige and Hannah are excited about their partnership. Aside from appearing on Bravo's Summer House and hosting their hilarious Giggly Squadpodcast, Paige and Hannah love to be cozy. Throw in a healthy dose of laughter and you've got two ladies who know how have fun wherever they're at. Now that the holidays are around the corner, Paige feels ready to trade in her cozy vibes so she can celebrate the upcoming new year. She said NYE should be celebrated because it's a great way to kick off a fresh start. "I feel like in your 30s you have a different vibe, so I love that Eventbrite gives you a curated list of events [to choose from]," said Paige. From there, Eventbrite makes it super easy to send a link to your groupchat.

Hannah also went on to acknowledge that the GTFO & Celebrate campaign has something for everyone based on whatever mood they're in. "[My mood] changes everyday, so we have a wide range of options. If you're gonna leave your own home and deal with other people, we want to make sure it's worth it for you."

While it's nice to be at home, we can't help but agree with Paige and Hannah — it's time to GTFO & Celebrate! Keep reading to learn about Paige and Hannah's holiday suggestions, from outfits to events!

When it comes to an ensemble, Paige loves being able to plan an outfit based on whatever event she's headed to, but Hannah laughed. She said, "I think Paige and I are different. She lives for putting an outfit together for a gala whereas I'll totally do a little sip and paint thing at 4 so I can be in bed early." But, they both agree that your holiday outfits should be fun and memorable.

Paige said, "I think one of the easiest things to do is change up your looks with tights. It's a really budget-friendly way to try new trends and get dressed up for the holidays." She's also loving the lace trend and suggests pairing a blazer dress you may already have with a pair of inexpensive tights from Amazon.

Hannah smiled and said, "I was a gold girl for so long and recently discovered chunky silver accessories. With Beyoncé's Renaissance, it's like the perfect time for the gold and glitter." She then laughed and said, "Try silver if you haven't! I don't know what it is, but it makes me feel like a sexy tin man. I'm obsessed with it." Whether you try glitzy gold or stunning silver is up to you — just have fun with your outfit!

When it comes to events, there's plenty of places to celebrate. As I mentioned, Page and Hannah partnered with Eventbrite to help you ring in the holiday season with some good, old fashioned cheer. These are the 8 events we're adding to our calendars as we speak.

Hippos can open their mouths 150 degrees, according to Snapple Real Fact #398. Hannah Berner hopped on a FaceTime call with me while kicking off Snapple’s Roadsip tour in New York City. “I don't have time to read a book. I can barely read a caption. So reading a Snapple fact is perfect for me,” she says over the noisy crowd. Any fun “animal” Snapple facts are the ones that stuck in Berner’s brain as a kid, just like the aforementioned Hippo fact.

The comedian is getting ready for her Fall tour, which is set to take off in early September until late November. “This is my first theater tour — so I started doing basements, restaurants, clubs, and now I'm at the theater level, which is super exciting,” Berner says. “It makes me feel like a little Broadway star, except it's just you on stage.”

What are her go-to road trip essentials, you ask? Snapple (obviously), Supergoop sunscreen, and Summer Friday’s Lip Butter Balm. “I'm always talking and I want to make sure that my lips look good while I'm talking and making silly jokes at people,” she adds. As a girl with a current fascination for lip glosses and lip stains, I couldn’t agree more.

Berner is a feminist, so she is specifically excited to see “the community of women” coming out to see her shows, laugh with friends, and just “having the best time.” The social media sensation is known for her TikTok videos featuring street interviews, where men and women discuss relationship (and notably sexual😂) questions and phrases. Berner comments that she is “definitely going to have crowd work at the shows” for her audience on and offline — similar to Hannah’s street interviews that pop up on your For You Page.

The Giggly Squad podcast host says laughing, “A lot of girls bring their boyfriends — make fun of them — and I think it's humbling and it's really good for feminism.” With Barbie, the Eras tour, and Girl dinners taking over the internet, I’d say it’s a year for the girls. Berner has interviewed some famous female faces recently, such as Jennifer Lawrence and Kesha — but her dream interview may take you by surprise.

“I actually really want to interview Shaq [Shaquille O’Neal].” She continues, “I feel like he'd make me laugh, but he'd also give me good insight and he'd be, like, crazy tall. I'd be, like, talking to his belly button.” The basketball star is 7’ 1” (for reference, that’s like really tall).

Image via Snapple

Berner is also a huge fan of Amy Schumer, including that “working with her would be a dream.” There’s something about Hannah and Amy’s humor styles that I think would be an epically hilarious collab (so if someone from Schumer’s team is reading this, please make it happen...Shaq’s team too, while we're asking for favors.)

In addition to Berner’s much-anticipated tour, the television personality has “a really exciting project coming up in the spring” and is expected to announce it in the “next couple of months.” So make sure to keep an eye out! In the meantime, you can listen to her latest podcast with her hubby named, Burner Phone. I feel like this FaceTime interview was basically a Burner Phone episode already — at least, the fangirl side of me will classify it as one!

Eating out as a vegan can be a true challenge, especially if you don’t exactly know that what you’re ordering is 100% vegan. Fast food faves like McDonald’s and Taco Bell are secretly packed with vegan items, and Starbucks is no exception. From oat milk coffees to satisfyingly savory snacks, you’ve actually got plenty of plant-based choices when you pull up at your local Starbucks.

Scroll on to explore every vegan Starbucks drink and food item you can add to your order!

Vegan Starbucks Drinks

Starbucks

1. Brown Sugar Oatmilk Cortado

This new-to-the-menu espresso drink combines brown sugar syrup and oat milk to balance out the punchy coffee notes.

Starbucks

2. Latte (Iced + Hot)

You can totally enjoy a latte at Starbucks if you're vegan. Their oat, almond, coconut, and soy milks are vegan, plus many of their syrups qualify as vegan, too, if you want to flavor up your drink. According to this Starbucks supervisor, all of Starbucks "clear" syrups are vegan and dairy-free. Starbucks' regular and white mocha sauces and caramel drizzle are also vegan and dairy-free.

Starbucks

3. Americano (Iced + Hot)

Starbucks' Americanos are just water and espresso, so you don't have to worry about any dairy being in there. Optionally, you could ask for a splash of non-dairy milk and pumps of your fave syrup.

Starbucks

4. Brewed Coffee (Iced + Hot)

Same goes for their brewed coffees, including iced coffee. Easily ask your barista to add in some non-dairy milk and a few pumps of syrup if you desire!

Starbucks

5. Nondairy Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew

This vegan cold brew drink is crafted with non-dairy cold foam that's flavored with salted caramel – and it's delish!

Starbucks

6. Nitro Cold Brew

A plain nitro cold brew from Starbucks is fully vegan and dairy-free. You can choose to add a splash of non-dairy milk, if you wish your sip to be a bit smoother and creamier.

Starbucks

7. Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso

This one's a classic: shots of espresso get shaken up with ice and brown sugar syrup to create a frothy foam, then the drink is topped off with oat milk to cut the bitterness. It's quite a delectable order, even if you're not eating fully vegan.

Starbucks

8. Starbucks Refreshers

All of Starbucks' fruity Refreshers are vegan. Plus, you can can add lemonade, tea, other flavor inclusions like strawberry and peach to add some extra oomph.

Starbucks

9. Iced Black Tea

Their refreshing iced black tea is certifiably vegan, too.

Starbucks

10. Iced Green Tea

If you prefer green tea, Starbucks' offering is vegan-friendly. If you tend to take your tea a bit sweeter, just order it with however many packets of your preferred sweetener, and your barista will add it in.

Starbucks

11. Lemonade

You truly can't go wrong with a lemonade!

Starbucks

12. Hot Teas

Starbucks' hot teas are totally vegan, too. If you want to make them fancier, ask for an additional splash of your go-to non-dairy milk!

Vegan Starbucks Foods

Starbucks

1. Rolled & Steel-Cut Oatmeal

Now onto the food! First up is Starbucks' oatmeal, which you can fancy up with nuts, berries, and brown sugar. Make sure to order it with water to ensure it stays vegan.

Starbucks

2. Plain Bagel

Surprisingly, Starbucks' bagels are also vegan.

Starbucks

3. Everything Bagel

The plain and everything bagels will work for any vegan eater.

Starbucks

4. Avocado Spread

Plus, you can order your bagel with a side of this delicious avocado spread for a nutritious boost!

Starbucks

5. Spicy Falafel Pocket

This 100% vegan snack pocket is new to the Starbucks menu, but it's already become a fan-favorite amongst vegans and non-vegans alike.

Starbucks

6. Chipotle Almond Dip

You can order the Spicy Falafel Pocket with a side of this fully-vegan Chipotle Almond Dip (AKA Bitchin’ Sauce). Yum.

In the hustle and bustle of holiday parties at work and road trips home to spend time with family, it’s easy to let other relationships slip through the cracks. Setting aside time to celebrate your favorite special occasions with your besties is a fun way to keep the holiday spirit alive throughout the season — and to create great memories with the most important people in your life. Looking for something a little more creative than Friendsgiving and Secret Santa? Here are a few ideas for starting your own holiday traditions with friends, starting this year.

1. Do some good in your community.

Whether you serve meals side by side at a soup kitchen on Christmas or donate gifts to a local homeless shelter, volunteering together is an amazing way to give back and point your friendship in a positive direction. Not sure where to get started? Think about the causes you and your friends are the most passionate about. A quick Google search for opportunities in your area should yield plenty of results.

2. Host a “Favorite Things” celebration.

Instead of the typical Secret Santa, try something a little different. A Favorite Things party is simple: Everyone comes with something they love within a certain price range — say, your absolute favorite mascara or your fave bottle of red wine — then guests draw numbers for their gifts. Everyone will leave with a fun and useful present, and you’ll get to learn more about your pals and the things they love.

3. Invite your bestie home with you.

We all know how hard it is to celebrate the holidays alone. Do you have any friends who don’t have family nearby? If your relatives are cool with it, invite your friends home for the holidays with yours. Your friends will feel super loved by your inclusive gesture, and you will have the chance to introduce your fam to the friends who make your life special. (Just make sure to tell your parents ahead of time if you don’t want them telling embarrassing stories about your childhood.)

If you’re the one with long-distance family, don’t be afraid to ask your friend if you can join in on her family traditions — she’ll probably be more than happy to include you.

4. Have a holiday movie fest.

Cozy up with some blankets, brew up some hot chocolate, and turn on your favorite holiday movies to ring in the season. Whether you knock them all out in one fell swoop or dedicate several Saturday afternoons to movie-watching throughout the winter months, you won’t regret stirring up some nostalgia with your BFFs in the comfort of your own living room.

5. Plan a post-holiday staycation.

Is there a local boutique hotel or a quaint bed and breakfast in a nearby town you’ve always wanted to check out? Now you have a perfect excuse. Carve out a weekend and book an overnight stay with your pals (who can help shoulder the cost!). Hotel rooms are typically cheaper after the holiday rush — especially when things slow down in early January — which is the perfect time to relax and share hilarious stories from family gatherings.

6. Go holiday shopping together.

You have to get your shopping done anyway, so why not knock out two birds with one stone and hang out with your besties while you’re at it? This year, team up with a friend (or a group of them) and brave the mall or Target the day after Christmas. Just don’t forget the Starbucks.

Learn how to Light It Upwith our tips and DIYs that create new spins on old traditions. We keep the best but tweak the rest so you can have a memorable experience that’s uniquely you.

What is it about family sagas that seem to make book clubs more interesting? Maybe it's because we know interpersonal relationships can be a little dysfunctional. It could be that we still don't know how to communicate with the people we love the most.
