13 Ways to Use Pantone’s TECH-nique Palette in Your Home

We adore all of Pantone’s 2018 color palettes — but none of them speaks to our fun-loving hearts quite like the uber bright TECH-nique palette. We’re talking a total explosion of vibrant blue, green, fuchsia, purple, turquoise, hot pink, and iridescent peacock shades, along with Brilliant White and Frosted Almond (to keep things chic). The combination was created as a futuristic ode to technology’s striking and enlivening influence on our lives — and boy, will it look amazing in your home! Take inspo from the 13 spaces below that have nailed the palette, then pin your heart out, ladies.

1. It’s Holo O’Clock: Brighten up your home office with an iridescent foil clock and ALL of the bold colors. The array of vibrant hues alongside plenty of pink pieces is on point with the unicorn decor trend. (via Studio DIY)

2. Aloha, Neon Jungalow: Hot pink and turquoise go together better than PB&J, but they also have a super playful effect when paired with deep shades of green and purple. Oh, and a funky neon sign doesn’t hurt either. (via Baba Souk)

3. Bloomin’ Gorgeous Artwork: If you can’t get enough of the TECH-nique tones, you need artwork like this in your home STAT. Complement it with accent pieces or bedding in the palette’s softer hues for a room that feels both relaxing and bold. (via Leah Bartholomew)

4. The More Pink, the More Productive: VA-VA-VOOM! TECH-nique shades beg for all the attention, and we’re happy to stare. Go all out with the wild vibe and scoop up a furry desk chair and a striking locker for your workspace. (via A Beautiful Mess)

5. Throw Shimmer, Not Shade: Good news, renters: You don’t have to paint walls or woodwork to incorporate a new color palette. Instead, use the weekend to DIY a set of iridescent throw pillows, and voila! You’ve achieved a futuristic revamp. (via Studio DIY)

6. Shimmer Fest Fo’ Real: The TECH-nique palette is an explosion of loud tones, and this statement wall has ’em all in a dreamy swirl. Use iridescent wallpaper to nail the look with easy-to-apply panels and then bask in the shimmery feels. (via Crafto)

7. Sunset All Day: Why paint your wall one TECH-nique hue when you can paint it with two? That Frosted Almond-to-teal ombre will make any room 10 times more alluring, no wall art required. (via Adventures of Yoo)

8. Beat the Monday Blues With Purple Sparkle: You can have your minimalist space, and your bright colors too. Thanks to Brilliant White, that is. Bring lots of lilac, hot pink, and blue into a sleek, mostly white room and you’ll have yourself a work zone that’s seriously divine. (via Oh Happy Day)

9. Boost Your Indoor Garden: Plant babies are fab, but plants in iridescent planters are SO much better. Zap your cacti collection or indoor herb garden with a few pearlescent pots and you’ll be utterly mesmerized. (via A Bubbly Life)

10. Tuck into Those Luxe Jewel Tones: Going for more elegant and cozy and less minimalist chic? Ditch the Brilliant White in favor of the palette’s deeper tones, like purple, teal, and pink. (via Dalliance Design)

11. Spin Right Round Like an Ottoman: Say adios to your boring footstool with a modern pouf that’ll bring party vibes to any room. Tame it a touch with metallic elements and playful, abstract pillows. (via Target)

12. Mermaid Dreams Do Come True: It doesn’t get much more futuristic-chic than this eye-catching, hot pink shower tile. (via Design Mag)

13. Step on It: Just because you’re still riding the pastel decor trend doesn’t mean you can’t hop on the bright TECH-nique bandwagon too. Snag a pink and purple area rug and plop it among your pale pieces — the end result feels equal parts fresh, feminine, and timeless. (via Apartment Therapy)

SNL season 49 had some seriously memorable moments (the unhinged Scooby Doo sketch with Jake Gyllenhaal and Sabrina Carpenter lives rent free in my mind). And this year, we're coming up on a huge moment for the series: its 50th season. SNL season 50 is sure to be memorable, and if you ask me, there's one person that would make the perfect host and musical guest: Taylor Swift. And it's not too late!

We recommend getting on the page at least five minutes beforehand because as soon as the reservation opens up, you have to move quickly. Check out our SNL ticket guide for more info!

Who is Domingo from SNL?

Will Heath/NBC

Domingo became SNL season 50's hit sketch, and features fan favorite Marcello Hernández as a flirty, musical man who's ready to serenade you at any moment. He crashed a Bridesmaid's speech, a baby moon, and even Sabrina Carpenter's Short 'N Sweet tour! "Came all this way, had to explain, direct from Domingo!"

When is SNL season 50 premiering?

Will Heath/NBC

SNL Season 50 Release Date

SNL season 50 premiered on NBC Saturday September 28, 2024. This is the first time since 2020 that Saturday Night Live has premiered in September instead of October, and we're not mad about it! The final episode of 2024 is coming on December 21, 2024.

Who is playing Kamala Harris on SNL season 50?

NBC/Andrew Harnik/Getty Images

Maya Rudolph returned to SNL season 50 as Vice President Kamala Harris following the announcement that Harris is running for President. This role, which won Rudolph the 2020 Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, has already led to plenty of viral moments — especially when VP Harris showed up on the show.

Is Taylor Swift hosting Saturday Night Live season 50?

Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images

While we haven't gotten an official update on whether Taylor Swift will join this season's SNL hosts, I'm hoping she will! She's already appeared on the show a number of times in a number of roles. She's hosted, made guest appearances, and been musical guest. And if you ask me, after a record-breaking Eras Tour, a special season like SNL50 is the perfect time for Taylor to reappear.

Pairing up Sabrina Carpenter (an Eras Tour opener) and Jake Gyllenhaal (one of Taylor Swift's ex-boyfriends) for the SNL49 finale feels like the kind of Easter egg Taylor herself would orchestrate!

Will there be an SNL 50th anniversary?

Will Heath/NBC

Yes, in addition to SNL season 50, we're getting an anniversary special! The 3-hour special will premiere February 16, 2025.

Who has hosted SNL the most?

Following in the footsteps of Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid, there's a new live Disney movie in the works: a live-action Snow White! The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes actress Rachel Zegler stars as Snow White in the new iteration, and this weekend, we got the first official look at the film!

Snow White has faced plenty of controversy this year, from the actors' comments to the costumes to the rest of the cast, but I'm actually excited for it. I'll see any story that places women at the forefront!!

Here's everything you need to know about the new live action Snow White, coming in 2025.

Is there a Snow White trailer?

Well, yes, the Snow White trailer is here! And I can't stop watching. Rachel Zegler's vocals, Gal Gadot's mystery, and the handsome Jonathan. Because, FYI, Rachel clarified that the movie WILL feature romance, telling Variety that "I would never want to box someone in and say, ‘If you want love, then you can’t work.’ Or ‘If you want to work, then you can’t have a family.’ It’s not true. It’s never been true."

"The love story is very integral," she continues. "A lot of people wrote that we weren’t doing [the romance] anymore — we were always doing that; it just wasn’t what we were talking about on that day."

I have had "Waiting on a Wish" (the new song by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul Rachel sings in the trailer) stuck in my head since I first heard it, and I CANNOT get enough. The vibrato on "meant" just scratches an itch in my brain!

What else has Rachel said about the movie?

Rodin Eckenroth/Getty Images for Disney

Like the live-action Disney movies before it, the new Snow White teaser trailer shows off a variety of shots you know and love from the original 1937 movie. But there's also a hint of modern edge that I'm excited to see in the final film. While the cartoon Snow White is pure sweetness, Rachel Zegler adds a touch of sass, spunk, and determination. I have no doubt she'll be able to bring the iconic princess into the modern age without sacrificing the goodness we love in the original character!

But as much as I love seeing Rachel Zegler in this starring role, I was not expecting the entire movie to look so CGI. The live-action Cinderella was successful aesthetically because it used so many practical elements, but so far, the Snow White visuals — from the animals to the dwarves to the cottage — seem a little hazy.

However some people are taking their critiques wayyyy too far and sending Zegler literal death threats. "fun fact i will be dying eight times a week on broadway this fall!!!!!" she says in response to a now-deleted tweet. "get your tickets, lee! also @fbi." You can see Zegler star in Romeo + Juliet opposite Kit Connor.

When is the live-action Snow White coming out?

Disney

Snow White Release Date

Snow White hits theaters on March 21, 2025! Check out the rest of the Most-Anticipated 2025 Movies you can watch next year. The lineup is already amazing.

What is the new Snow White movie about?

Disney

Snow White Plot

Based on the 1937 animated Disney movie, the 2025 Snow White will follow a similar plot, but it looks like it'll focus more on the princess becoming a leader than the OG movie. Rachel Zegler went viral for her comments on how the film would change the original story. "We absolutely wrote a Snow White [that's] not going to be saved by the prince, and she’s not going to be dreaming about true love," Rachel says in a clip from D23 in 2022. "She’s going to be dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be and that her late father told her that she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave, and true.”

Many internet users didn't like how Rachel phrased her problem with the original story, claiming that telling women they have to choose between falling in love and leadership is inherently anti-feminist. "No but she could fall in love AND be a leader at the same time," one TikTok user commented.

However, the extreme backlash to Rachel's comments was put in a new light after Priscilla star Jacob Elordi (who plays Elvis Presley) joked he didn't know much about Elvis except what he learned on Lilo & Stitch.

"Okay but when Rachel Zegler says she wasn’t a fan of the original Snow White (a cartoon btw), and only revisited it for her role as Snow White, she’s 'entitled' and a brat," one user wrote on X. "This just confirms Rachel Zegler hate is literally just misogyny." Say it louder for the people in the back!

Who else is in the cast of Snow White?

Disney

Snow White Cast

Gal Gadot will star as the Evil Queen opposite Rachel Zegler's Snow White. We'll also see Andrew Burnap as Jonathan (in place of the original film's Prince) and Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman.

I love that Rachel is starring as Snow White because she has always captured goodness and integrity without becoming harsh, which is a true feat. And director Marc Webb feels the same way. "[She] has an inherent grace, poise and goodness that reminds me so much of what is essential to Snow White," he told Variety.

Will Snow White be a musical?

Disney

Yes, Snow White is going to be a musical, just like the original film! In addition to original songs like "Whistle While You Work," La La Land and The Greatest Showman writers Pasek and Paul (who also added a couple of new songs to the 2019 Aladdin) wrote some new tunes for the film.

How many dwarves does Snow White have?

Disney

In the original film, Snow White meets seven dwarves: Doc, Bashful, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey, Happy, and Sleepy. After actor Peter Dinklage expressed his anger over the new story ("You're still making that f—king backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together, what the f—k are you doing, man? Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soap box? I guess I'm not loud enough," he said in an episode of Marc Maron's WTF podcast), Disney released a statement to Good Morning America saying they were changing the original story.

"To avoid reinforcing stereotypes from the original animated film, we are taking a different approach with these seven characters and have been consulting with members of the dwarfism community," a Disney spokesperson said. "We look forward to sharing more as the film heads into production after a lengthy development period."

However, the movie's first look clearly shows Rachel Zegler's Snow White surrounded by seven dwarfs, and honestly, we're even more confused than we were before about how Disney has updated the story, if at all.

What is the original dark story of Snow White?

Disney

In the original Grimm's Fairytales Snow White, the princess avoids even more brushes with death than she does in the Disney version. In addition to the poison apple, the queen also tries to suffocate her with too-tight bodice laces, as well as a poison comb through her hair.

September 30, 2024 — Ariana Grande Defends Ethan Slater

In a Vanity Fair cover story, Ariana opened up about the reaction to her relationship with Ethan Slater, revealing that “the most disappointing part was to see so many people believe the worst version of [the story]."

“There couldn’t be a less accurate depiction of a human being than the one that the tabloids spread about him,” she says. “No one on this earth tries harder or spreads themselves thinner to be there for the people that he loves and cares about. There is no one on this earth with a better heart...I’m 31 years old and I’m not a perfect person, but I am definitely deeply good, and I’m proud of who I’m becoming. I will never let disreputable evil tabloids ruin my life or my perception of what is real and good.”

October 30, 2024 — Ethan Slater Finally Speaks Out About His Relationship With Ariana Grande

Almost two years after meeting Ariana Grande, Ethan Slater finally opened up about their relationship in a new interview with GQ. “Obviously, it was a really super big year and I think there was something that was really difficult about things in your private life being commented on and looked at by the public," he says. "There were a lot of big changes in private lives that were really happening, so it’s really hard to see people who don’t know anything about what’s happening commenting on it and speculating, and then getting things wrong about the people you love. So just to address that part of it, that feels really hard."

But the clouds also came with silver linings. “Of course, it was an amazing year and a really beautiful thing, and I’m just really excited," he continues. "I’m just really, really proud of Ari and the work she’s done on this. She’s poured herself into it. I’m really proud that I got to be there for that part of it, and I’m really excited to be there for this next step of it when the world gets to see the amazing thing that she did.”

No. But does this still count as an Instagram hard launch? Absolutely.

There's one that's seared into my memory of, in Doctor Dillamond's classroom, I don't remember what Ari said but she got Cynthia [Erivo] and it's just the two of them across the way and they're staring at each other and she got her so good. There's something really wonderful about breaking. It's delightful."

He also praised Ariana and Cynthia for how they welcomed the rest of the cast their first days on set. "[They] would hug everyone who came in," he continues. "This huge movie is something that we've been waiting for for 20 years on a big scale with the biggest stars in the world, it could have felt really intimidating and it felt really familial immediately."

December 2, 2024 — Ariana Grande & Ethan Slater Pick Out A Christmas Tree

After Wicked press wrapped, Ari and Ethan were spotted in New York City picking out their Christmas tree. “Arianna Grande and her boyfriend, Ethan, [were] buying a Christmas Tree from Yianni Karadimas’ Christmas tree stand on 62nd [and] Broadway,” a source tells Page Six. Festive!!

"They are celebrating the success of Wicked and keeping things low-key as they enjoy the holiday season together," another source adds.

I am dying to know what Ariana's Christmas decor looks like. Is it all pink in honor of Glinda? Is it a classic red, green, and gold color combo? Whatever she picks, I know it looks stunning.

It’s pretty common for celebrities to go by a stage name or a different moniker entirely when they’re trying to break into showbiz. Take musicians for example. Before the world knew her as Rihanna, everyone in her life simply knew as Robyn Rihanna Fenty. And the same goes for actors as well. Did you know that The Office alum Mindy Kaling was born Vera Mindy Chokalingam?(Yeah, I was today years old when I learned that.) Even certain members of the British royal family have chosen not to go by their first name, given their high profile status. What if I told you Kate Middleton’s full name is Catherine Elizabeth Middleton? I know right, shocker!

Keep reading to learn more about the 22 celebrities who don’t actually go by their real name — and the reason why.

1. Emma Stone

Real Name: Emily Jean Stone

Back when Easy A alum Emma Stone was trying to break into the industry as an actress, she chose to go by a different name because there was already a person with the same moniker in the SAG.

So, in a 2017 interview with W Magazine, the Poor Things star shared that she wanted to go by Emily J. Stone, but decided against it. “So to ask a 16-year-old to pick a new name is really an interesting process, because I was like, ‘I’m going to be Riley’... And so my name was Riley Stone for about six months,” she told the publication at the time. “I changed it to Emma because you know it’s closer to Emily, but most people call me ‘M,’ that know me well.” Honestly, I think you could've pulled off the J, Emma.

2. Lady Gaga

Real Name: Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta

Turns out, the Bad Romance singer wasn’t gaga for her real name when she decided to break into Hollywood. Before entering the music industry, Germanotta chose her stage name “Lady Gaga” after she was apparently inspired by the 1984 Queen single “Radio Gaga.” Huh, who would’ve thought?

3. The Weeknd

Real Name: Abel Makkonen Tesfaye

Years before the world knew him as “The Weeknd,” Tesfaye chose his professional name when he left home at a young age. During a Reddit Ask Me Anything segment, the singer revealed, "I left home when I was about 17 dropped out of high school and convinced [my friend] Lamar to do the same.”

He continued, “We grabbed our mattresses from our parents threw it in our friends sh—ty van and left one weekend and never came back home. It was gonna be the title of HOB [House of Balloons]. I hated my name at the time though so I tried it as a stage name. It sounded cool. I took out the “e” because there was already a Canadian band named the weekend (copyright issues).”

4. Gigi Hadid

Real Name: Jelena Hadid

In case you didn’t know, the proud mom went by “Gigi” early on in her childhood. (FYI: Gigi was also her mom’s childhood nickname too.) But in a 2015 interview with Vogue, Hadid shared that everyone started calling her “Gigi” once she started grad school.

“In first or second grade, there was a girl named Helena and it got confusing with the teacher who had to call out our names, and so the teacher asked my mom, ‘If I needed to call Jelena a nickname, what would it be?’ And my mom was like, ‘I call her Gigi sometimes,’ and the name stuck,” the supermodel explained at the time.

5. Meghan Markle

Before she became the Duchess of Sussex, Markle simply went by her first name: Rachel. But now, she goes by her middle name professionally. Markle is rarely addressed by her first name in public. We're throwing it back with this celebrity name! Fun fact: Mortenson took the name Dougherty after her first marriage. But how did she come up with the name we're all so familiar with? So, she decided to drop her last name in exchange for her mom’s maiden name: Monroe. In addition, the exec gave her the name “Marilyn” because she reminded him of a 1920s Broadway star named Marilyn Miller.

Speaking of Jeane's, did you know Reese Witherspoon's name is actually Laura Jeanne? While appearing on an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the rapper shared the origin of her pseudonym.

I think I felt more Chinese than what the world perceived me as and that was a weird concept for me.”

It grew to the point where more people in my circle would know me by that name than by my real name.”

19. Miley Cyrus

Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images
