14 Amazing Products to Give Headache Sufferers Some Relief

Headaches have a way of stopping anyone in their tracks. Pain, tension, and other symptoms like light sensitivity, nausea, and dizziness can quickly turn a good day into a bad one. And people who suffer from migraines or chronic headaches spend a lot of time looking for the best relief besides simply taking medication. There are many tried and true products and methods for treating or even preventing a bad headache, and especially in recent years, more cool, innovative inventions have become available. Scroll on for super helpful products for headache relief and prevention, but note: These remedies are not substitutes for medical advice or treatment.

MigraineX

Migraineurs will tell you that even something as natural as a changing weather pattern can trigger their symptoms. These earplugs help headache sufferers deal with drops in barometric pressure in the air that usually happen before storms. According to headache and migraine specialist Dr. Susan Hutchinson, “The drop in external air pressure is a change from the inner pressure we have [in our ears and sinuses] and this change can then trigger the migraine process… MigraineX helps by a having a series of filers that ‘dampens’ the change in external air pressure coming into the ear canal so it’s not so dramatic.” Using the ear plugs, and the MigraineX app, helps prevent weather-related migraines before they start.

Migrastil Migraine Headache Stick Roll-On Relief

Aromatherapy doesn’t work for every headache sufferer, but if you are soothed by therapeutic scents, this roll-on with spearmint, lavender, and peppermint is a classic combination to naturally reduce pain.

Utopia Bedding Blackout Room Darkening Curtains

Blackout curtains are every headache sufferers’ best friend. Blocking out light is a good way to help migraine relief and promotes healthy sleep to keep pain at bay.

The Original Headache Hat

At first glance, a headache hat might seem a little silly, but so does keeping giant bags of ice on your head for hours at a time. This convenient design lets you move around while still getting cold therapy relief.

Bed Buddy Hot/Cold Pack Thermatherapy

Heating pads are excellent for relieving tension and increasing blood flow to certain areas of the body — but it can be dangerous to sleep with an electric pad. Instead, this pack filled with 100 percent natural grains, herbs, and flowers is safe and can be used hot or cold.

IMAK Compression Pain Relief Mask and Eye Pillow

Headache sufferers who are feeling pressure behind the eyes will love this mask. It’s weighted to soothe pain and puffiness and it blocks out the light for better rest.

Happy Wraps Hot Cold Lavender Eye Pillow and Eye Mask

If you want a therapeutic eye mask that’s versatile to boot, you’re in luck. This silky, lavender-infused mask can be used cold for headache and migraine relief, warm to relieve sinus pain, or as-is for a soothing treat.

ESARORA Ice Roller

This facial ice roller will not only help keep your skin smooth; it’ll also provide a dose of cold therapy to all the right places.

doTERRA PastTense Essential Oil Roll-On

Not all headache sufferers have migraines. For people with tension headaches, this roller contains a particular blend of oils known for their calming effects on the mind and body.

The Doctor’s Night Guard

Does it feel like you’re always waking up with a headache? It could be because you’re grinding or clenching your teeth at night. One helpful, medication-free solution is to sleep with a mouth guard that will keep your jaw muscles relaxed.

Nature’s Way Vitamin B2, 100 mg Riboflavin

It’s theorized that migraine sufferers don’t get enough B2 vitamins, like riboflavin, which can contribute to the frequency of their headaches each month. Taking a supplement (along with any other doctor-recommended treatment) can be helpful for preventing attacks.

Nature’s Way Feverfew

Some small studies have shown that feverfew might help prevent migraines. Again, patients should always talk to their doctors before adding on supplements.

HealthmateForever TENS Unit, Electronic Pulse Massager

A TENS unit (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation unit) is meant to prevent and relieve pain. The electrodes gently massage certain areas for pain relief — but it’s important to follow directions and possibly have a conversation with your doctor before trying it.

Migraine Buddy

Beyond aromatherapy, thermotherapy, and massage, some headache sufferers like to prevent their pain with good old-fashioned tracking. This app helps you determine your triggers, log your attacks, and better understand why you’re experiencing chronic pain.

If you’re a pasta lover, it’s a great time to be alive. The pasta aisle is filled with alternatives to traditional semolina and whole-wheat varieties, from red lentil penne to edamame spaghetti. In addition to being gluten-free, these pastas are also surprisingly high in protein, making your quick pasta dinner of spaghetti and marinara or vegan mac and cheese a bit more filling (and well-balanced).

Aside from homemade pasta, these bean and legume pastas are pretty much the greatest thing ever. They cook quickly and eliminate the need to prep a separate protein to go with your meal, meaning they’re perfect for 15-minute dinner recipes.

Some are easier to cook than others (and, frankly, a couple of them don’t taste great), so we’re sharing cooking tips for the most popular types of bean pastas, along with simple ideas for dinners that can be on the table in under 30 minutes.

The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly

Trader Joe’s

Trader Joe’s Red Lentil Sedanini

Why We Like It: This is, hands-down, the best legume pasta out there. The Trader Joe’s version has quickly become a best-seller, and for good reason. There’s no bean-y flavor, it cooks to a perfect al dente texture, and it pairs well with both creamy and tomato sauces. Red lentil pasta stays firm even after being refrigerated, so you’ll have no more mushy leftovers! Plus, it boasts 13 grams of protein per serving.

Cooking Tip: Use this one for your baked pasta dishes, like baked ziti. On busy nights, simply toss with jarred sauce and Parmesan cheese. (If you have a few extra minutes, sauté fresh garlic in a bit of olive oil, along with oregano, fennel seeds, and crushed red pepper to make your store-bought sauce feel fancier.)

Pair It With: Your favorite pasta sauce. The short pasta can handle chunky sauces, and it soaks up thin and creamy sauces too. There’s no sauce that red lentil pasta can’t handle!

Whole Foods

Modern Table Lentil Elbows

Why We Like It: Like the red lentil pasta above, these lentil elbows have a neutral flavor and cook up without much guesswork on the timing. (We’ve tried a few brands.) They’re also the perfect swap in your favorite mac and cheese recipe. Each serving contains a whopping 20 grams of protein.

Cooking Tip: Use a thick or darker sauce to fool picky eaters and mask the slight green color. (Try pesto!)

Pair It With: Toss hot pasta with two cloves of minced garlic, plus plenty of olive oil or butter, and Parmesan for a quick weeknight dinner. Garnish with black pepper and crushed red pepper.

Amazon

Banza Chickpea Shells

Why We Like It:Chickpea pasta is one of the best protein pastas. This pasta looks and tastes surprisingly like the real deal, with a bit more texture (like a whole-wheat pasta). It cooks quickly and doesn’t fall apart if you forget to set a timer and let it go a couple of extra minutes. (It’s worth buying in bulk!) Also, did you see the 20 grams of protein per serving?

Cooking Tip: Garbanzo bean pasta is tasty chilled too, so use it in your favorite pasta salad recipes. Make a quick lunch by mixing chickpea shells with hummus, chopped olives, and roasted red peppers. Serve over arugula.

Pair It With: Toss hot pasta with tahini (thinned with water and lemon juice), then salt to taste. Serve with steamed broccoli.

Whole Foods

Explore Cuisine Green Lentil Lasagne

Why We Like It: You don’t need to parboil these noodles, and they cook up perfectly. They’re a dream come true with 11 grams of protein per serving. (While you can find plenty of no-cook wheat lasagna noodles, the protein content in this variety keeps your Sunday supper from putting you into a carb coma.)

Cooking Tip: Keep a box of these awesome noodles on hand for all your lasagna cravings. Get creative by turning other favorite pasta dishes into layered feasts. Try roasted butternut squash rings with ricotta, gorgonzola, dried cranberries, and sage, then top with a simple tomato or Alfredo sauce (seasoned with rosemary and black pepper).

Pair It With: Your grandmother’s lasagna recipe. No one will know you’ve swapped the noodles!

Amazon

Explore Cuisine Edamame Spaghetti

Why We Like It: This pasta cooks quickly and is a tasty alternative to rice when stir-fry is on the menu.

Cooking Tip: Set a timer, and don’t walk away. Any thin, long legume pasta like this one needs to be stirred often and not overcooked. If you overcook it, you’ll end up with a congealed blob.

Pair It With: Asian-inspired sauces like sesame ginger or traditional noodle dishes like Korean japchae.

Amazon

Trader Joe’s Black Bean Rotini

Why We Like It: Unfortunately, we don’t, even with its 14 grams of protein per serving. Every brand we’ve tried needs far longer than the recommended cook time to reach al dente, and we experienced some, um, bean-y side effects every time we ate this one. Since black beans take longer to cook from dried than the other legumes listed here, we suspect that’s why black bean rotini was a fail. Black bean spaghetti did fare slightly better, but it’s still not worth the price.

Cooking Tip: Skip this one, or stock up on the Beano.

If you've searching for how to cook zoodles, then you've come to the right place. We love giving any veggie-substitute a try, and this noodle-alternative is definitely worth adding to your next meal.

You're probably thinking: "WTF am I supposed to with a 'zoodle'?" But fear not — we're here to help! Zoodles (AKA zucchini noodles) are *actually* quite easy to make. You can sauté them on the stovetop, boil them like traditional pasta or simmering them straight in some sauce. In fact, cooking them is so easy that we have a hunch that these zoodle recipes will be your new go-to for anytime you want to some extra greens.

Prepare your zoodles fresh with these tips, or pick some prepackaged ones up from your local grocery store and skip straight to the recipes!

How To Prepare Zoodles

Cut Your Zucchini Noodles The Right Way

To make zoodles, cut both ends off of the zucchini. Slice the zucchini into two halves. From there, use a tool like the Kitchenaid spiralizer attachment that screws onto your stand mixer or a free-standing tool like the one from OXO, or an Inspiralizer to unspool fine or extra fine zucchini ribbons from the core of the zucchini.

In a pinch, you could try using a vegetable peeler to peel long planks off the zucchini and then slice them into noodles. Or, cut the planks using a chef's knife and then further slice them into matchsticks. Once you've processed the zucchini into zoodles, store them in the refrigerator where they taste best within three days.

While zoodles can be eaten raw and dressed up in pesto or another salad dressing, if you want to cook them, these are the three methods to try.

How To Cook Sautéed Zoodles

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add two teaspoons of oil (olive or coconut) or a pat of unsalted butter. Toss in the zoodles (spiralized from one zucchini), salt to taste, and sauté for several minutes, turning with tongs until the color of the zoodles deepens and they become soft.

Serving Suggestion: After oil is heated, stir in thinly sliced garlic or minced fresh ginger to sizzle and scent the oil. This would be the time to also add a dash of spice like a curry powder, if you like. Once zoodles are cooked, garnish with a scattering of toasted coconut, shredded fresh cilantro and/or mint leaves, and chopped scallions. Pair it with fish.

As a theater kid and movie fanatic, I simply cannot stop singing the Wicked soundtrack, checking out all the new Mattel dolls, and re-watching the new Wicked trailer. And I will absolutely be wearing Glinda's signature pink when the Wicked movie flies into theaters November 22. But while this is sure to be the movie event of the year, it's only going to be part one of the story.

Just like the Broadway musical is split into two acts, Wicked is going to be in two parts. (And I have a hunch this year's installment will end with "Defying Gravity," just like Act I of the musical). But good news Ozians: the Wicked: Part Tworelease date just got bumped up! Here's everything you need to know about Wicked: Part Two before the movies change us for good :).

When is Wicked: Part Two coming out?

Universal Pictures

Wicked: Part Two Release Date

Wicked: Part Two will hit theaters November 21, 2025. While the movie was originally slated for November 26, 2025, Universal Pictures decided to bump up the release date.

The first Wicked movie also faced a schedule change, moving from November 27 to November 22, 2024, the same day as Gladiator II!

What happens in Wicked Part 2?

Universal Pictures

Wicked: Part Two Plot

While we don't officially know at what point in the story the Wicked movie ends, we do know that Act II of the musical is all about Oz's response to Elphaba becoming the "Wicked Witch of the West." Glinda becomes beloved public figure "Glinda the Good," but realizes just how much her dreams have cost her as Elphaba is gone and Fiyero, now Glinda's fiancé, is determined to find Elphaba no matter the cost.

Wicked: Part Two is sure to feature songs like "As Long As You're Mine," "No Good Deed," and "For Good" — and Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, and Jonathan Bailey are going to absolutely slay.

Who's in the cast of Wicked: Part Two?

Universal Pictures

Wicked: Part Two Cast

Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, and Jonathan Bailey will reprise their roles as Elphaba, Glinda, and Fiyero, respectively. Wicked: Part Two will also star Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Yeoh, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang, and Keala Settle.

Why is the Wicked movie taking so long?

Universal Pictures

The Wicked movie has had a long road to get to its release! News of the movie adaptation originally broke in 2016, with an intended release date of 2019. But the COVID-19 pandemic, and a few behind-the-scenes details, pushed the movie to 2024 instead.

"As we prepared this production over the last year, it became increasingly clear that it would be impossible to wrestle the story of WICKED into a single film without doing some real damage to it," director Jon M. Chu tweeted in April of 2022, announcing the story would arrive in two installments.

"With more space, we can tell the story of WICKED as it was meant to be told while bringing even more depth and surprise to the journeys of these beloved characters."

Did they finish filming Wicked Part 2?

Cynthia Erivo/Instagram

The good news is that, even though we have to wait a year to see Wicked: Part Two, filming is already done! On January 26, Cynthia Erivo shared a breathtaking photo of her silhouette as Elphaba flying on a broom. "I’ve been trying to think of what I’d say when this day finally came, and I’m failing miserably, because honestly there aren’t enough words to fully express what this experience has meant to me," she says on Instagram.

"The universe will take things away to make space for the grand gifts it has waiting for us," she continues. "THIS moment, this film, these people, this cast, this crew, this director, my Glinda, were the Grandest gift I could ever have asked for, and I am eternally grateful for the chance to bring you This Elphie. I hope when you meet her, you’ll love her as much and as fiercely as I do. And with that I say, that’s a wrap for me, Elphie out!! 💚💚💚"

Ariana Grande shared a similar image of her own silhouette on January 25, saying, "like a handprint on my heart," which is a lyric from "For Good." I love these women so much!
