There's nothing better than hitting the beach on a hot summer day before retreating to the air-conditioned comfort of a movie theater to catch Hollywood's latest releases. As we look forward to 2025's warmer months, they seem to be packed with some unforgettable productions, too.

Here are the most highly anticipated movies set to hit the big screen this summer. Don't forget to bring your best friends and popcorn!

1. The Ritual – In Theaters June 6, 2025

Amy Sussman/Getty Images

This gripping horror-thriller, directed by David Midell, follows two priests, one of whom is wrestling with a crisis of faith while the other is battling a traumatic past. Together, they have to execute an exorcism on a possessed young woman.

Starring Al Pacino, Dan Stevens, Abigail Cowen, Ashley Greene, and Patricia Heaton, The Ritual is a summer movie horror fans won't want to miss.

2. How to Train Your Dragon (Live Action) – In Theaters June 13, 2025

Universal Pictures

The beloved animated saga that first debuted in 2010 is soaring to new heights in a live-action retelling of How to Train Your Dragon. Set on the isle of Berk, the film follows Hiccup, a clever young Viking who challenges generations of tradition by forming a bond with Toothless, a rare Night Fury dragon.

Then, when an ancient threat puts the peace between humans and dragons in danger, their friendship becomes the only hope for survival. This adaptation, which is rated PG, stars Mason Thames, Nico Parker, and Gerard Butler.

3. Materialists — In Theaters June 13, 2025

A24

Mark my words, Materialists is going to be the next great rom-com. The summer movie follows a matchmaker named Lucy who finds herself torn between a handsome (and wealthy) stranger and an ex she can't let go of.

That sounds amazing in and of itself but the fact the trio is played by Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal, and Chris Evans? Sign me up.

4. Bride Hard – In Theaters June 20, 2025

Sonia Recchia/Getty Images

Everyone knows that weddings can be chaotic, but no one ever expects a full-blown hostage situation. Bride Hard follows secret agent Sam, played by Rebel Wilson, as she takes on the role of Maid of Honor in her best friend's wedding.

But when a ruthless mercenary group crashes the nuptials and holds the guests hostage, Sam is forced to take action. Directed by Simon West, this movie also features Anna Chlumsky, Justin Hartley, Anna Camp, and Stephen Dorff.

5. F1 – In Theaters June 27, 2025

Warner Bros. Pictures

This sports drama, directed by Joseph Kosinski, will star Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a former F1 driver whose career was cut short by a devastating crash.

Now, decades later, Sonny is pulled back into the racing world by a struggling team owner who sees him as the key to turning their fortunes around. So, as he returns to the track, Sonny has to mentor a new generation.

6. Jurassic World: Rebirth – In Theaters July 2, 2025

Jasin Boland/Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment

Dinosaurs are back in Jurassic World: Rebirth, the latest chapter in the iconic franchise. Scarlett Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, the leader of a covert team sent to an abandoned island facility, once home to the original Jurassic Park. Their mission? Recover invaluable genetic material that could revolutionize modern medicine.

Yet, as the team delves deeper into the jungle, they uncover a hidden secret. Directed by Gareth Edwards, Jurassic World: Rebirth will also feature Jonathan Bailey, Luna Balise, and Mahershala Ali.

7. Superman — In Theaters July 11, 2025

Warner Bros. Pictures

The new Superman movie is a new look at the iconic hero, and it features a bunch of other DC heroes too. The cast is incredible, and David Corenswet as Clark will make you believe that anything is possible.

Superman stars Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Sara Sampaio, Pruitt Taylor Vince, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, and Neva Howell. Wow.

8. I Know What You Did Last Summer — In Theaters July 18, 2025

Matt Kennedy/Sony Pictures

This sequel tells the same story of five friends who cover up a death — and then have to pay the price. But this installment features a Gen Z twist that stars Lola Tung, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Madelyn Cline,Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, Jonah Hauer-King, and Chase Sui Wonders alongside Freddie Prinze Jr., Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Austin Nichols.

9. The Fantastic Four: First Steps — In Theaters July 25, 2025

Nearly three decades after he first teed off, Happy Gilmore has returned. Adam Sandler will star in Happy Gilmore 2, the long-awaited sequel that reunites the original cast, including Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, Ben Stiller, and Dennis Dugan.

The exact plot remains unclear, but one thing is certain: viewers can look forward to plenty of laughs. Don't miss the sequel's Netflix debut on July 25!

11. Freakier Friday – In Theaters August 8, 2025

Glen Wilson/Disney

The original Freaky Friday came out in 2003, and now, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are reprising their iconic roles as Tess and Anna in Freakier Friday.

In the sequel, Anna is actually a mother herself who's navigating life with a daughter and soon-to-be stepdaughter. Then, when tensions reach a breaking point, the universe decides it's time for another perspective shift. Freakier Friday will also star Chad Michael Murray, Julia Butters, and Sophia Hammons.

Which summer movie are you most excited about? Let us know on Facebook!

Lately, I’ve been paying closer attention to my grocery receipts. It’s not just the price of eggs — everything feels more expensive, and it's made me think more intentionally about how to make my food last longer. I’ve always hated wasting food. Not only is it tough on the planet, it’s tough on my budget, too. Americans toss out about 38 percent of our food — that’s the equivalent of 145 billion meals ending up in landfills (yikes!). Sure, a big chunk of that comes from restaurants, but even at home, being mindful of waste feels like a win for both the environment and my wallet.

So, instead of putting my groceries away haphazardly, I want to make sure I'm storing everything exactly how — and where — it should go. Luckily, I've learned there are some foods that actually last longer outside of the fridge. And they might surprise you!

Scroll to see the foods you don't need to refrigerate after all...

Alena Darmel

1. Cucumbers

I have never left cucumbers outside the fridge, but it turns out that this can cause them to become too watery. Instead, find an airtight containerand store them in your pantry or countertop. Then toss them in this colorful Greek Salad!

Rens D

2. Bell Peppers

Stashing bell peppers in the fridge can actually make them lose their crunch (who knew?). For peak crispness, keep them at room temperature and enjoy within one to two days. If you're not planning to eat them that quickly, pop them in the fridge to help prevent them from going soft too soon.

Elle Hughes

3. Basil

Store your basil as you would a fresh bouquet of flowers, in a jar with water. Cold temps can cause basil leaves to turn black, so it’s better off out of the fridge.

Shutterstock

4. Butter (And Peanut Butter!)

According to the USDA, butter is best used within a day or two at room temperature to preserve its flavor. When I lived in San Francisco, I could leave it out on the counter year-round without worrying about it melting. Now that I’m in a hotter climate, I keep it out most of the year — just not during the peak of summer. Peanut butter also does well at room temperature, staying smooth and spreadable for up to three months (after which you'll need to refrigerate it).

Pixabay

5. Tomatoes

I grew tomatoes in my garden for the first time last year, and nothing beats the taste of one plucked straight from the vine. To keep that juicy , sun-ripened flavor going, store your tomatoes at room temperature on the counter — not in the fridge. Cold temps can dull their flavor and texture. Try making a simple Tomato Confit recipe to drizzle over bread or pasta, yum!

Gil Ndjouwou

6. Avocados

A friend and I were debating whether avocados belong in the fridge — turns out, they don’t. At least, not until they’re ripe. I eat one almost every day, so I go through them fast, but once they ripen, I pop them in the fridge to slow down the over-ripening. If you’re craving Avocado Toast, stash them in a paper bag to speed things up, or just let them ripen naturally in an open container on the counter.

Natalia Olivera

7. Fresh Bread

If you want to get the most flavor (and life) out of your fresh bread, skip the fridge. Refrigeration actually speeds up staling. Instead, store it in a bread box or basket — somewhere that blocks light but still lets it breathe. Planning to eat it the same day? Leaving it uncovered at room temperature works just fine. Otherwise, a paper bag or the freezer are your best options.

Eric Prouzet

8. Potatoes (Sweet or Otherwise)

I like to keep my potatoes and onions tucked away in the pantry where it’s cool and dark. Storing them in a paper bag at room temperature helps preserve their texture and flavor. The fridge might seem like a good idea, but it can actually do more harm than good — the moisture makes potatoes overly sweet and kind of gritty, and the humidity can cause them to mold more quickly.

Kaboompics.com

9. Onions & Garlic

Onions, shallots, and garlic can become moldy when exposed to the high humidity of the refrigerator. Store them in a relatively cool, dry place in your pantry or a cabinet that’s not exposed to light. Your onions will remain fresh and ready to use whenever you need them for recipes like this Spring Veggie Galette that I make every year!

The quiet luxury of European-inspired decor is having a moment, with relaxed linens, rustic plaster finishes, and earthy palettes leading the way. Jackie Kosnett and Martina Biegel, the design duo behind Galerie Design + Build, reimagined an outdated 1950s home in Mar Vista, Los Angeles, turning it into a stunning retreat inspired by their travels to Italy.

Originally a cramped two-bedroom with an awkward layout, the home included an unusual sunroom addition that felt more like a makeshift trailer.

1. Earthy Color Palette

Fresh off a trip to Italy, the principals infused the design with Mediterranean warmth, pairing clean contemporary lines with soft textures, rich materials, and an earthy, neutral palette. They repurposed the underutilized sunroom, relocating the kitchen there and turning it into a sleek, inviting space.

“We wanted to create a serene escape from the city through a neutral yet warm palette,” says Jackie.

Tessa Neustadt

In true Italian spirit, the kitchen serves as the heart of the home — designed with limestone, European white oak, plaster finishes, and unlacquered brass, anchoring the home's quiet luxury aesthetic.

The interiors were styled in collaboration with Neustadt-Studio, whose vision aligned perfectly with Jackie and Martina’s.

2. Vintage Decor

"From there we added vintage pieces from our own private collection, including a curved mohair sofa for a pop of color, Willy Guhl planters and a Pirman armchair by Heinz Julien," says Martina. I love the European inspiration and classic furniture design.

Tessa Neustadt

Blending old and new is a signature of Galerie Design + Build. Vintage lighting was thoughtfully layered in to bring character and a sense of history to the space.

3. Textured Materials

The pair could give a master class in layered neutral design. “Bringing in textured materials like leathered and tumbled natural stone, mixing different wood finishes, patterns in tile layouts or fabrics, and blending in vintage lighting and furniture will add depth while maintaining a neutral palette.” says Jackie.

Jordan Rodriguez

Limestone, European white oak, plaster finishes, and unlacquered brass continue throughout the home to add continuity.

Quiet luxury isn’t limited to neutrals — calming paint colors and vintage art can bring just as much serenity and sophistication.

4. Floral Accents

The floral bedspread has the charm of a classic Italian villa in summer — nostalgic in a beautiful way.

The result? A modern Italian-inspired sanctuary that balances simplicity and soul, right in the heart of Los Angeles.
