Our Raspberry Rosé Jam Deserves to Be Slathered on Everything

For our ‘Grammable Holiday Cookie Guide, we’ve teamed up with cookie artist Ashley McNeal to help you create some of the prettiest cookies on the block! Get ready for serious inspiration, whether you’re a total cookie newbie or a next-level baker.

There’s no question about it — we’re obsessed with rosé, sipped solo or splashed in a cocktail. That’s why we thought, “Why not include it in a jam recipe?” Slather this fragrant raspberry jam on toast, stir it into oatmeal, sandwich it between linzer cookies, or top it on some seasonal thumbprint cookies. Talk about rosé all day…

Raspberry Rosé Jam

(Makes 5 cups)

Recipe Notes: If you are vegetarian, try subbing the gelatin out with an equal amount of agar-agar, a seaweed-based gelling product. Or use a packet of Simply Delish Unflavored Jel. We haven’t tested either method, but the aim is to set the jelly completely. Once out of the fridge, you can stir it around with a spoon to make it more spreadable.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups frozen raspberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rosé wine
  • 1 envelope flavorless gelatin
  • 1/8 teaspoon butter (to keep bubbles down)

Directions:

1. In large saucepan, combine all ingredients (except butter). Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly.

2. Once the mixture has reached a boil, add the butter. Stir constantly until the mixture has thickened, or 1-3 minutes.

3. Remove the jam from the pan, and place inside a glass jar and seal.

4. Allow jam to rest in a dark room, avoiding direct sunlight for 6 hours, and then refrigerate overnight to let it set.

While the thrill of waking up on Easter and searching for colorful eggs might feel timeless as a kid, the annual tradition can start to become a little predictable as time goes on (and your children get older).

So, if you want to shake things up this year, skip the same old routine and surprise your family with twists they won't see coming. Here are some creative Easter egg hunt ideas that will make the holiday extra memorable and keep everyone more engaged.

Scroll to see the unique Easter egg hunt ideas you need to try in 2025!

1. "ABCs" Egg Hunt

Dre Dawkcide

First, if you have younger ones, you can turn your Easter egg hunt into a learning experience with an added playful challenge. All you have to do is hide 26 eggs, each of which is labeled with a different letter.

Then, give your kiddo a checklist to mark off each letter as they find it. Not only will this activity help you actually remember how many eggs you hide this year, but it'll reinforce letter recognition in a fun, hands-on way. As an extra bonus, you can even tuck a small prize inside the eggs to match their corresponding letters!

2. Color-Coded Egg Hunt

Eren Li

Now, if you have multiple children who battle to find all the Easter eggs each year, then you know that things can get chaotic and tense. To say goodbye to sibling squabbles, simply assign each kid a specific egg color and matching basket.

If you have two sons, for instance, hide 20 green eggs and 20 blue eggs. They'll know exactly which eggs to search for, and everything will be kept fair since they'll each get to find the same number.

3. Glow In The Dark Hunt

alleksana

There's obviously more to Easter than just the fun of egg-hunting. Nonetheless, for kids, it's often the most looked-forward-to portion of the day, and once it's over, it can be hard to keep them entertained or invested in the celebration.

But with a glow-in-the-dark Easter egg hunt, you can delay that! Just wait until the sun goes down to host a nighttime version of the tradition with the help of glow-in-the-dark paint or glow sticks inside plastic eggs. Your children will be looking forward to it all day (and probably stay on their best behavior as they wait to participate).

4. Advent Calendar Hunt

Jill Wellington

To extend the Easter fun even further, remember that you don't have to limit the festivities to just one day. Instead, spread the joy out with an Easter-themed countdown hunt!

Every day during the week leading up to Easter, hide one egg or goody bag that's filled with treats or tiny surprises. It will build anticipation in an adorable way that gets your kiddos super excited.

5. Traditional Egg Hunt: Simon Says Edition

Eren Li

Growing up, your family might've always put little chocolates or coins inside your Easter eggs. To infuse the tradition with some more action, consider including "Simon Says" and call it "Easter Bunny Says!"

Just place a piece of paper inside each egg that contains a fun instruction, such as "hop like a bunny" or "spin in a circle three times." It's a great way to keep the giggles going and expel some extra energy before the sugar craze hits.

6. Scavenger Hunt

RDNE Stock project

For older kids (or even adults), take your Easter egg hunt up a notch by turning it into a scavenger hunt. Depending on where you're planning the hunt, like inside your home or in the backyard, come up with clues and riddles that correspond with hiding spots in that location.

It adds a puzzle-solving element that can be adapted for tweens, teens, and, again, the older folks who still want to get in on the fun.

7. Reward Hunt

Gustavo Fring

Another smart idea to sweeten the whole deal is turning your Easter egg hunt into a mini reward system. Alongside the typical candy, tuck in notes that offer fun perks, like extra bedtime stories, a chore pass, or even a screen time coupon.

8. Easter Egg & Balloon Hunt

Gabe Pierce

Finally, if you have a baby or toddler who isn't quite ready to participate in the conventional Easter egg hunt, all you have to do is incorporate some balloons to make the activity easier.

First, fill up some helium balloons and tie a chocolate egg to the bottom of each string. Then, you can let them bop around your home or backyard, serving as straightforward markers for your little ones to spot. Not to mention, what kid doesn't love a balloon?!

The Passover Seder is steeped in tradition, but that doesn't mean your meal has to be completely conventional. Here are 20 modern takes on classic Passover dishes, like Manischewitz-spiked cocktails and matzo-based chocolate bars. (Don't let the word "modern" scare you; there's still plenty of smoked fish, matzo ball soup, and kugel in the mix.)

Political thrillers have long been a quiet powerhouse in the TV industry. The genre first erupted in media through movies, with titles like 1958’s The Quiet American, The Manchurian Candidatein 1962, All the President's Menin 1976, and 1981’s The Amateurr. At that time, the inspiration was fueled by the events of the Kennedy assassination, the Watergate scandal, and the Vietnam War. It took a while for the genre to gain traction within the TV landscape, but political thrillers have slowly but mightily climbed their way to the top as a must-watch and a yearned-for genre amongst audiences, especially within TV. All of that being said, I’ve rounded up 10 of the best, so you don’t have to go searching!

Here are the 10 best political thriller TV shows you can stream now.

ABC

1. Scandal

If Shonda Rhimes is behind it, you know it’s good. To top it off, the Kerry Washington leads the series. Washington plays Olivia Pope, a former media consultant for the president who ventures out to open her own crisis-management firm. Though she and her expert team are great at sweeping others' secrets and scandals under the rug, they struggle to do the same for their own.

You can watch Scandal on Hulu and Disney+.

Netflix

2. The Diplomat

Keri Russell delivers an all-time best performance in The Diplomat (another female-written show, I might add) and it’s just as phenomenal as her other political thriller series The Americans (which also nabbed a spot on this ~exclusive~ list). While not based on a true story, The Diplomat was based on real diplomats to influence Russell’s character of Kate Wyler, a career diplomat who has to juggle her high-profile job and her (not-so-great) marriage to a politician.

The Diplomat is streaming on Netflix.

CBS

3. Madam Secretary

Téa Leoni battles an actual unicorn in her latest film, Death of a Unicorn but in Madam Secretary she battles a very different death – the death of her predecessor. It leads to a new, high-stress job for the qualified Elizabeth McCord, a former CIA analyst, mother of three, and highly valued, newly appointed Secretary of State. Madam Secretary offers a realistic portrayal of the demands of both family and a full-time career in politics, and of course, Leoni kills it in this role.

You can find Madam Secretary streaming on Netflix.

Hulu

4. Paradise

Obviously if you're waiting for season 2, you already know about Paradise. In case you don't, the newest and currently most talked-about show on this list right now, Paradise follows secret service agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) as he investigates the murder of a former president in a seemingly – key word seemingly – peaceful community. The series has only been out for two months and has since then caused theory galore on social media as well as a binging frenzy from audiences. So, if I were you I’d start ASAP to avoid inevitable spoilers on social media!

You can find the full season of Paradise on Hulu.

Netflix

5. House of Cards

Out of all the shows on this list, I’d say this is the most infamous and divisive in nature. It’s no wonder too, as House of Cards explores how the media shapes and distorts narratives. Along with the complex characters and compelling and captivating script, House of Cards is a must-watch.

House of Cards is streaming on Netflix.

CBS

6. The Good Wife

Maybe. Possibly. Nay – the best female empowerment series wrapped in a political drama, The Good Wife follows a woman grappling with massive life changes… that her husband has caused (what’s new?). Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) has long been the devoted wife to a former state's attorney, but after a very humiliating sex and corruption scandal, he’s behind bars, leaving Alicia (much to her dismay) to pick up the pieces.

All 7 seasons of The Good Wife are streaming on Prime Video.

Apple TV+

7. Slow Horses

Slow Horses made tidal waves in the political thriller genre, winning the 2024 Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series and taking the world by storm with its release on Apple TV, with many watchers calling it one of the best shows on TV – yeah, it’s that good. Slow Horses follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve as a dumping ground department of MI5 (the United Kingdom’s security service), due to their career-ending mistakes.

Slow Horses is streaming on Apple TV+.

Netflix

8. Zero Day

Another 2025 political thriller release (are they officially making a comeback?!) – Zero Day stars none other than – get ready for this truly stacked cast – Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Lizzy Caplan, Connie Britton, Angela Bassett, and more. Zero Day is a miniseries, for those of you who want something quick to binge, and you’re thrown into the aftermath of a cyberattack with the President and his team dealing with the outcomes.

The can’t-miss miniseries, Zero Day, is streaming on Netflix.

FX

9. The Americans

The Americans is one of those series you stumble upon while looking for something to watch, and then once you’ve watched, you’re left wondering two things – why you haven’t heard of it before and how something so good can be so criminally underrated. It’s set during the Cold War and after Ronald Reagan has been elected president. You’re taken on a ride with an American couple – our girl, Keri Russell who plays Elizabeth Jennings and Matthew Rhys, who plays Philip. On the surface, they’re a normal couple, but not everything is what it seems (apologies if that reminded you of the Wizards of Waverly Place theme song, I digress). Before long, you find out Elizabeth and Philip are KGB spies – a secret not even their two kids know about.

The Americans is streaming on Hulu and Disney+.

Starz

10. Gaslit

Another criminally underrated series, Gaslit is a modern take on the 1970s political Watergate scandal focusing on the untold stories and forgotten characters of the time. The cast is, candidly, one of the best I’ve ever seen, featuring some of my favorite actors – Julia Roberts, Sean Penn, and Betty Gilpin. If that isn’t enticing enough for you, it has some of the best cinematography I’ve ever seen in a modern show.

Gaslit is available on Apple TV+.
