This mobile would be great in a child’s room, or even over a crib. Here’s how you make it. Hold your dowels in an “X” and wrap with string until they are sturdy. Cut triangles out of the wrapping paper. Use your first one as a template so that they are all the same size. Then arrange them in a line face down, grouping some of them together in twos and threes. Tape them to a piece of string using double-sided tape. Now place more triangles on top matching them up with the ones below.

Keeping with the celebratory theme, we made some party hats. Place a large plate on a large piece of wrapping paper and trace around it to make a perfect circle. Find the center of the circle and then cut a straight line from one of the edges to the middle. Now take both ends and curve the paper around until you have a cone. Tape the paper in place. Punch a hole on each side. Thread the string through the hole and tie a knot. Party time!

There is some awesome wrapping paper out there with really cool designs. This next project is perfect for showcasing some of your favorite paper. Take out the back of your frame, trace around it and cut. Place your piece of wrapping paper in the frame and replace the back. Done and done.

These little flags would be great for a party. Add them to a cupcake or a cocktail for maximum cuteness. All you need to do is punch some flags and tape them to the lollipop sticks. You kind of need to wrap the tape around the stick or the paper will bend. We love flags!
– cardstock
– scissors
– pens
– double-sided tape
Make a little card using the card stock or buy a cute card. We dis-assembled an envelope to make sure we made the correct shape. You can follow the design from our photo or grab an envelope and carefully pull it apart. Place your card on the wrapping paper to get the correct size. Then draw the envelope so that you aren’t just free-handing with the scissors.
Cut out your envelope, fold and then tape it together. It would be cute to close this with washi tape, a sticker or some wax. And if you want to send it in the mail and there is not a good place to write the address, you could add affix a piece of card stock to the back.

We’re bringing back the origami bird! For this one, we followed a tutorial for making paper cranes. There are a million of these online. Once you’ve folded your bird, punch a tiny hole in the tail and thread your string. Tie a knot at the top and, boom, you’ve got yourself an ornament.

This could not be any easier! Simply cut a strip of wrapping paper, fashion it around a rolled napkin, and attach using double-sided tape. Your dinner party just got bonus points for cuteness.

Cut some tags out of the card stock. We went with a traditional shape, but you could make any shape you want. Use the tag to measure the wrapping paper and then cut out blocks or shapes. Stick these embellishments to the tags using double-sided tape. Punch a hole at the top, add some string and you’re done.
How do you re-use your wrapping paper? We’d love to hear what you’ve created.
