Rihanna Just Made Our Jaws Drop With The New Savage X Fenty Maternity Collection

Despite stepping down as CEO of her beloved lingerie brand, Rihanna just made out jaws drop with new Savage X Fentymaternity collection. As if she doesn't have her hands full stirring up marriage rumors with longtime beau A$AP Rocky, Rihanna seems to effortlessly embody what it means to be a busy mom. We're sure she has her challenges, but she's doing motherhood justice.

Instead of succumbing to the world of mom shamers, she's redefined maternity style and has zero issues taking care of business while pregnant. A part of that business includes championing inclusion for underrepresented communities in media; hence the new Savage X Fenty Maternity collection.

Where did Savage X Fenty's maternity campaign photos appear?

www.instagram.com

Savage X Fenty posted the mini-carousel of campaign photos to the brand's Instagram account yesterday. It goes without saying, but seeing Rihanna unabashedly breastfeeding her son Rza feels affirming for those who choose to do so.

What's featured in the Savage X Fenty maternity collection?

Based on popular silhouettes, customers can find the Savage X Cotton Maternity Bralette ($45), the Floral Lace Maternity Bralette($50), and Savage Not Sorry Maternity Bralette($50). They're made of jersey fabric and are designed to be soft so moms who have sensitive, dry, or cracked nipples feel comfortable wearing them. Also, with the option to unhook a latch during nursing sessions, moms won't have to worry about fumbling with a difficult design.

Additionally, the collection features an oversized graphic t-shirt with "Make More Babies" across the front.

What are the sizes?

Like other designs on Savage X Fenty's site, the maternity collection ranges from XXS to 4X.

Why did Rihanna decide to focus on maternity wear for Savage X Fenty?

She told Vogue, "The new maternity capsule is about bringing that confidence and comfort to moms at every stage of their journeys." She went on to say she wants people to know parents can absolutely "channel sexiness and feel good."

Who designed the collection?

It's inspiring to see mothers being represented in media beyond the usual pop culture tropes. Hopefully Savage X Fenty plans to expand its maternity line to include more styles!

We hear a lot about celebrity breakups, but thankfully this doesn't apply to Rihanna and A$AP Rocky. Their relationship hass blossomed before our eyes like a modern day fairy tale, and we're here for our pop culture king and queen. It seems like just yesterday the loving couple welcomed their second baby while dodging marriage rumors.

Rumors have circulated about whether the pair are married or not, but they've been pretty quiet about it. What Rihanna has done is open up about how her relationship with A$AP Rocky began in a new candid interview. Below, she covers everything from that infamous VMA's performance to what's in store for their growing family

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky's Relationship Timeline

2012

While going down memory lane with Interview's Editori-in-Chief Mel Ottenberg, Rihanna opened up about her and A$AP Rocky's relationship timeline. She revealed the two didn't know each other prior to her 2012 VMA's performance of her single "Cockiness." No one can forget that A$AP Rocky was a part of her set and that he managed to spice things up by grabbing a handful of her bottom onstage.

2013

Although people assumed the two were dating when she appeared in the video for A$AP Rocky's song "Fashion Killa," Rihanna admits they weren't. It's easy to see how people would've assumed that because they've always had chemistry. She told Ottenberg that their friendship throughout the years was due to having similar perspectives. "We saw fashion the same. We saw creative the same. We ended up in the same circles a lot. And past that, when we grew up, we ended up supporting each other’s brands and products and creative all the time. I would wear his shit, he would show up to my launches."

2019

Although it would be juicy if Rihanna and A$AP Rocky's relationship stemmed from a steamy text, she alluded in her conversation with Interview that their love was more organic. She said, "We’ve known each other for a long time. I’ve seen him in relationships. He’s seen me in relationships. We’ve seen each other outside of relationships. We knew what we’re capable of, and the trouble that we could bring to each other’s lives. We can make or break each other’s hearts. And so, we started dating with a lot of caution."

She also said COVID had a huge impact of the solidifying their romantic relationship and that she doesn't regret how things unfolded for them.

2022 — 2023

The couple welcomed their sons — Rza and Riot — between 2022 and 2023, something they love gushing about. They're not shy about expressing their adoration for their growing family and have even admitted they're open to having more children if that's in the cards for them. Rihanna specifically told Interview, "I don’t know what god wants, but I would go for more than two. I would try for my girl. But of course if it’s another boy, it’s another boy."

December 2, 2024 — Rihanna & A$AP Rocky Hit The Red Carpet

Mom & dad stepped out for London's 2024 Fashion Awards' red carpet last night looking as stylish as ever. While A$AP Rocky chose to wear a utilitarian outfit that's on par with other looks we've seen him wear, Rihanna pushed the envelope even further with her outfit. She wore a furry light blue dress and matching hat that were accentuated by other black pieces like leather gloves and denier tights.

Just a couple of months ago, she told E! News that she's loving spending time with her family. "Motherhood, wifehood-ish, just being a homebody—I love it," she said. She also admitted, "I love to be a homemaker. I just like to be exciting and celebrate things. I'm trying to build new traditions for our little family that we built."

Did A$AP Rocky call Rihanna his wife?

Image via Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images

Yes! During his performance at the 2023 Cannes Lions Festival, Rihanna was seen grooving to her love's music. Once he reached the second half of his performance, he gave her a huge, shocking shoutout. “I’d like to dedicate this song to my beautiful wife in the motherf–king building!”

Um, are you kidding us right now? His "beautiful wife?" We could hardly contain our excitement when we learned the news, and it seems Rihanna couldn't either because she was seen with a huge grin on her face. Ah, to be in love!

Image via Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images

We can't help but wonder if their latest Met Gala look was a nod to their nuptials. I mean, a white dress and a tux? At fashion's biggest event? Seems suspicious, if you ask us!

Still, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky haven't issued a statement to the media about their marriage or a wedding ceremony. While we respect their privacy, we would be open to fawning over the beautiful bride and groom if they ever decide to release pictures.

Image via Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images

As if that wasn't enough, A$AP Rocky released a song last year called "Riot (Rowdy Pipe'n)" that gives a little more relationship insight. In one lyric, he raps, "My wife is erotic, I’m smokin’ exotic."

We think they've been telling the world - "What's understood doesn't have to be explained."

Touché Rihanna and A$AP Rocky.

My confidence was at an all-time high in my late 20s. I had a great circle of friends, a busy social life, a long-term boyfriend, and a career that was looking up. But then I moved to NYC when I turned 30 and had to rebuild my core group. It was hard starting a new-ish life and my confidence took a hit.

I look back at that time and want to tell her to relax and focus on the positive — and there were A LOT of positives. But sometimes just one negative can make us see everything through a cloudier lens.

It wasn’t until my later 30s that I regained that confidence and started to see my life turn in a positive new direction: a publisher accepted my book proposal, I was traveling on an Eat, Pray, Love-style trip, and I was looking and feeling my best. After all, confidence is sexy, right? It also has a way of multiplying the good in life.

Here are some reminders of how to find your confidence, even when things seem to be falling apart.

Celebrate Your Strengths

Mwabonje Ringa

What do you love most about yourself, for real? How do you stand out from your peers? Celebrate all the things that make you YOU. Take time to celebrate your achievements, no matter how small, and be patient with the areas that might need improvement. Accepting yourself as you are is the first step to building genuine confidence.

Live Passionately

Antoni Shkraba

One of my favorite authors, Isabel Allende has a great Ted Talk about living passionately at any age. Be curious, say yes to worthy experiences, and seek out the things that bring you joy, such as a hobby or a cause you care about. Helping others can enhance your sense of purpose and confidence.

Count Yourself In

ThisIsEngineering

Sports exec Emily Jaenson talks about counting yourself in – when you're afraid to address a difficult situation, confront someone, or need to present at work with confidence. She likes to countdown before she goes "live," so pause, take a deep breath, and count 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 before you start anything hard. This can help calm your nerves and help you perform better.

Remind Yourself That Hard Times Do Pass

Laker

When I was going through a hard time, my friend sent me Pema Chödrön’s When Things Fall Apart. It sounds sort of ominous, but it’s the complete opposite. What I gained is that when things do seem to fall apart they always eventually rise, and I sort of find comfort in that now. This too shall pass, right? It’s about finding the happiness within all of us no matter how hard things are, and embracing failure or suffering — fearlessly, compassionately, and with curiosity.

Set Achievable Self Care Goals

Sam Lion

If one area of your life isn’t going well – say, relationships or career – focus on the things you can control. Prioritize self-care routines that make you feel nurtured and valued. Start a fitness routine or join a team sport to improve your physical health and boost your mood and energy levels, which contribute to overall confidence. Establish achievable goals, breaking down larger ones into smaller ones, based on your strengths and interests. Start with a vision board!

Overcome Negative Self Talk

Ketut Subiyanto

I love the Eleanor Roosevelt quote, “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” (Yes, that's who Joe quoted in The Princess Diaries) Challenge and reframe your negative thoughts. Focus on your achievements and positive experiences, and replace the negative thoughts with affirmations and constructive self-talk. Be honest with yourself and remind yourself of all the good you've accomplished!

Be Happy For Others

Elina Fairytale

Your time to shine might not be right now, but appreciate that good things happening to those around you. You’ll appreciate it more when the good stuff happens to you, and have a group of cheerleaders by your side.

Connect With Your Favorite People

ELEVATE

Nothing like a girl date to lift our spirits. Hang with the people you care about most, and who lift you up when you're feeling down. Don't be afraid to be vulnerable and let them know the good, the bad, and the sometimes ugly. If you can't meet in person, schedule some time to talk on the phone to connect and catch-up.

Meditate Or Find Ways To Manage Stress

Anna Tarazevich

A morning meditation practice or other relaxation techniques can help you refocus, manage stress, and improve your overall mood and well-being. Here's what happened when I meditated for just 11 minutes a day for one month. Spoiler: I really loved it!

Break Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Isabell De La Cruz

Stepping out of your comfort zone can help build your confidence in so many ways. Travel, adventure, even taking a class can help you see new perspectives, build resilience, and realize how awesome and strong and capable you are. Afraid of failure? Trying new things is already bringing you closer to success. Failure is a way of learning, not a setback. Shift your thinking around failure and embrace it, learn from it, and gain from it. You've got this!

Julia Roberts has given us some of the most iconic rom-coms in pop culture history, from Valentine's Day and Pretty Woman to Runaway Bride.

If you're a Millennial or even a Gen Zer, you probably watched the movies as a tween or teen and gleaned (what you thought were helpful) insights about love, life, and relationships. After all, it's natural to look up to the woman on the big screen and want to follow in her footsteps.

Well, allow us to present a different take on the matter. In our humble opinion, movies can be just as wisdom-packed when they show you behavior you shouldn't strive to emulate. So, here's what I learned not to do by watching Julia Roberts rom-coms.

Scroll to see the lessons I took away from all my favorite Julia Roberts rom-coms!

1. Don't say "yes" if you're not truly ready.

In Runaway Bride, Julia Roberts plays Maggie Carpenter, a woman who leaves her fiancés at the altar multiple times, and her track record leads her to be called "the runaway bride" by a journalist.

Perhaps there are two lessons here. Of course, while fleeing your own wedding day is bound to leave your partner with a whole lot of (valid) upset feelings, it's okay to say "no" and get out of a situation that isn't serving you, even if it feels like it's not what you're supposed to do.

But at the same token, remember that you shouldn't feel pressured into saying "yes" in the first place when you aren't genuinely ready to tie the knot with someone.

Being ambushed by a romantic proposal or facing expectations of marriage following a long-term relationship can be frightening. Still, don't allow yourself to be backed into a corner. Learn from Maggie's mistakes and say "yes" on your terms.

2. Manipulation isn't the way to get what you want.

My Best Friend's Wedding follows childhood best friends Julianne, played by Julia Roberts, and Michael, portrayed by Dermot Mulroney. They made a pact to marry each other if they were still single at 28 years old, yet four days before Julianne's birthday, she learns Michael is marrying another woman.

So, she attempts to break up her best friend's wedding, but let's just say it doesn't end well. I'm sure that all viewers could sympathize with Julianne's feelings of jealousy and heartbreak. Even so, this movie shows that trying to force someone into a relationship they don't want is manipulative (and won't work).

The lesson here? Respect other people's choices and realize that not every single romantic feeling has to be reciprocated.

3. Fame won't solve your problems.

In Notting Hill, Julia Roberts plays Anna Scott, a famous actress who falls for the charming bookshop owner, William. Despite being a beloved film, it also serves as a master class in how fame can breed a whole host of relationship issues.

First off, Anna cheats on her boyfriend with William and cites the pressures of fame as an excuse. Instead of owning up to her actions, she seems to think that being a celebrity gives her a free pass to make poor decisions.

Then, Anna later takes it a step further by badmouthing William to strangers, again justifying her behavior as a consequence of her famous status. If that wasn't enough, when paparazzi harass her and follow her to William's house, she tries to pin the blame on him.

The takeaway here is that getting famous will not be a glamorous solution to all your problems. Rather, it often makes things worse. The spotlight can turn a person into a chaotic, out-of-touch mess who can't take responsibility for their actions.

Don't rely on grand gestures to fix your relationship.

Finally, Valentine's Day is filled with romantic, grand gestures. From declarations of love to over-the-top surprises, the film portrays these moments as a way to fix whatever's wrong in a relationship. In reality, these gestures are surface-level and don't actually address deeper issues at play.

The real lesson is that true connection and lasting relationships are built on open communication, trust, and support. These things go much deeper than a bouquet of roses or an elaborate dinner.

Yes, grand gestures may be exciting, but they won't magically solve being on different pages with your partner.

Today, many at-home libraries look a lot different than they did just a decade ago.

First, thanks to inspiration and ideas shared by avid readers on social media, classic shelving has gotten a major upgrade, with plenty of people using built-ins, DIY-ing shelving to look like built-ins, or displaying books in more unconventional stands.

Literature lovers are also upping their reading game by incorporating warm lighting, cozy chairs, and other viral bookworm accessories.

What's arguably the most new, though, is the introduction of colorful "sprayed edges" on the books themselves. Perhaps it goes against the classic mantra, "Don't judge a book by its cover," but this trend has taken over the reading scene. This is why!

Here's everything you need to know about sprayed edges books!

What are books with sprayed edges?

Books with "sprayed edges" have their page edges painted, which adds a bold pop of color or reveals an illustration when the book is closed. They're typically designed to complement the cover and invite you into fictional worlds before you even crack a story open.

So, this extra detail has become extremely popular among readers everywhere. It turns any ordinary book into a visual statement and provides book lovers with tons of new opportunities to display their collections.

In fact, some people have opted to begin exhibiting their books with the edges facing out as opposed to the spine. With this technique, your shelving practically transforms into a mosaic of art instead of just a storage area.

When did books with sprayed edges start?

It's important to note that while viral fantasy and romance novels have popularized this trend recently, the concept of decorating book edges has been around for centuries.

In 17th-century England, for instance, a technique called fore-edging, or painting watercolor scenes along the edges of books, became popular. Some novels have even been adorned with gold or silver leaf.

More on books with sprayed edges:

Nowadays, the process of mass-producing books with sprayed edges has been streamlined, with publishers using high-powered machines to keep up with the demand. Plus, countless readers have been DIY-ing this effect for years, using tools ranging from spray paint to markers.

The result makes books feel more exclusive, and they're often even labeled as such, being called "deluxe" or "special editions."

If you want to get your hands on some, you're in luck, too. Various highly anticipated books are being released this year with sprayed edges, including The Lotus Shoes by Jane Yang, Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros, and Last Twilight in Paris by Pam Jenoff (Signed B&N Exclusive Edition).

Additionally, even some older bestsellers will get their turn to shine with the release of special editions featuring sprayed edges.

Kristin Hannah's historical fiction novel The Nightingale, for example, will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a deluxe edition. Readers won't just get sprayed edges but also a new dust jacket, a gold-foil stamped cover, and a ribbon bookmark.

Still, while social media platforms have helped fuel the demand for colorful, eye-catching books, not every work will get such special treatment. Since sprayed edges add to production costs, publishers have to carefully choose which titles get them.

Nonetheless, one thing is certain: fantasy, romance, and speculative fiction books tend to feature them the most, as readers who enjoy these genres really seem to appreciate the decorative aesthetic.
