OMG! Introducing Our OMG What?! Collection

If you’re familiar with Brit + Co, you know that we’re fans of the wacky, weird and outrageous (case in point: The BritList). So our latest collection should come as no surprise. Introducing the OMG What?! Collection, an assortment that celebrates the quirkiest goodies our shop has to offer. We’ve got drinking horns, campfire cologne, R-rated rulers and everything in between — AKA stuff you totally need, NOW. Read on for some of our favorite finds in the awesome collection.

1. The Answer is Always Tacos ($25): Is eating your favorite sport? Us too. Show your team spirit with this fantastic wool felt pennant by Scout + Lilly.

2. The Shot Flask ($25): The flask that is so genius we’re bummed we didn’t think of it first. Well done, Stone Cask, well done.

3. Wild Animal Drink Stirrers ($17): These guys will make any drink just a little more wild. Talk about party animals!

4. Multi-Tool Utility Black iPhone Case ($45): This bestselling iPhone case comes with screwdrivers, ballpoint pens, a nail file, tweezers, scissors and a kickstand. AKA everything but the kitchen sink. Genius.

5. F Lasercut Rulers ($7): For those of us with bitter memories about math class, this ruler is here to help us speak our mind. Three cheers to Michael Oliveri Studio for finally bringing blasphemy to measuring devices :)

6. PacMan and Ghost Earrings ($18): We can’t decide what’s more darling — these adorable earrings or the itsy bitsy bottle they come in. Good thing we don’t have to choose!

7. Knucks Tattoos ($5): We’ve gushed about these rad temporary tattoos before, and they deserve one more rave review. Because we’ve all wondered how badass we’d look with knuckle tats, right?!

8. Boobies! Terrarium ($65): Yep, those are boobies.

9. ThankYouSaurus ($49): FYI, desk pets are a thing, people. And this guy is a real favorite around Brit HQ. It’s like a Chia Pet, but WAY cuter.

10. Cat Love Stamp Set ($13): Cats. Hearts. Stamps. What’s not to love?

11. Dopp Pouch ($45): Finally, a dude-approved dopp kit with character. Also, can we make apparel with this print a la Clashist? K cool.

12. Shark Nail Decals ($7): We can’t think of a better accessory to rock during Shark Week — or any week, really. #thecountdownbegins

What’s your favorite find in our OMG What?! Collection? Speak your mind in the comments below!

You guys may already know that I’ve been doing the #GiveItAWeek challenge on Instagram. If not, it’s essentially my IRL attempt at completing 52 weekly resolutions throughout the year. So much easier than one big, meaty resolution, right? ;)

While I still have many to go (fingers crossed for me!), below is a quick recap of everything I’ve done to date. With that said, don’t forget to continue following along with me here or over @brit, as I tackle everything from cake decorating to a new ‘do that may just surprise you ;)

week 1: no makeup

I kicked off the week a bit unsure — I don’t remember the last time I went this long without some form of makeup on! Despite tackling some scary, bare-faced meetings during the week, I gained confidence as the days went on. Turns out, it’s WAY easier to get ready in the morning and it made me appreciate all the little imperfections I had (like the freckles on my face). You guys, I can safely say I will probably rarely put on the same amount of makeup on that I used to, and I now have a deeper respect for my skin and all the forms it can take on.

WEEK 2: same shirt

Okay, I may have saved time getting ready (and also cut back on packing space when I traveled), however, I was SO bored wearing the same thing every. single. day. Even after accessorizing, it was hard to deal with the lack of creativity in my wardrobe. While I have a profound respect for Steve Jobs, the same (mint) turtleneck every day just ain’t for me!

WEEK 3: no social media

Guys, I’m not going to lie, this one was TOUGH (at first) since I’m so used to filling my down time with my phone. Yet, by Day 3, things got easier. I replaced my free minutes with reading the news, being 100 percent present with my kids, getting creative, and even developing a human relationship with my Lyft driver (imagine that!). While I missed the connectedness that came with being on social media, my opinion is not that I should permanently delete my accounts, but that I should try to keep my time spent on social media under 30 minutes a day.

WEEK 4: learn to sing!

To be honest, I used to think my only singing talent was a Britney Spears impersonation (it’s been a go-to party trick since age 16). However, after this week, I conquered some insecurities and found a bit more confidence in my voice after singing to you all. Most importantly, I realized that singing is FUN, which means that there may be some real lessons in my future. PS: Use the Vanido app if you want to take a quick singing lesson yourself. Good luck!

WEEK 5: Keto Diet

Despite experiencing a rough “keto flu” to start, there were a couple things I learned. First, the diet didn’t leave me feeling hungry, and eating so much fat/protein (I took tips from these keto recipes) made me feel satiated every hour of the day. Which leads me to my next finding — I lost weight! It wasn’t my primary goal, but I lost 4.5 lbs in seven days (not too shabby, eh?). Lastly, a lot of people say keto gave them mental clarity and I def didn’t witness this in my weeklong trial. Therefore, I’m going to take advice from you guys and keep going with this for a week longer!

WEEK 6: Paint Every day

Overall, I loved the relaxation that came with painting every day and I found myself getting more comfortable with my skills as the week went on. To keep things short and sweet, I rank this #GiveItAWeek challenge with four out of five paintbrushes. (Psst: Check out our awesome watercolor classes to give it a try!)

WEEK 7: 5am Wake-ups

If we’re being honest, I loved the uninterrupted time I got in the morning. Yet, I learned that my lifestyle just doesn’t accommodate an early bedtime (I was going to bed at 9 or 10pm). I TOTALLY think I could become a 6am person since that extra time would be hugely valuable. But I guess we will decide on that later (after I go take a nap!).

WEEK 8: Pattern Clash

I’m definitely NOT as trendy as I’d like to be and always feel a little insecure taking fashion risks. So pattern clashing was very uncomfortable for me to start. But by Day 5, I finally started to get the hang of it. And yes, I wore bright yellow + bright purple animal print that day! I loved all the compliments for being so brave, and I stopped caring what people thought (especially men, they just don’t get it!). I found freedom in my own self-expression and I learned a lot from my girl Anjelika Temple, who I can’t stop admiring for doing this on a daily basis. Talk about some serious fashion #goals!

WEEK 9: be Funny

Stanford just so happened to be hosting a week-long online class all about “using humor in business” so obviously I signed up immediately! A lot of this week was learning about why humor is important, but I also learned how to reframe my stories and tone to be funnier, especially in a business context. How can I sign off on my emails with more personality? Can my LinkedIn profile be funnier? Humor is a much better way to connect with people, and business is all about connections and networking. Not to mention, laughing creates oxytocin, which makes people feel more connected. Couldn’t we all use a little more of that right now?

WEEK 10: Lettering

This week, I learned a few key creative things. First, mastering brush lettering and calligraphy is 98 percent based on application of pressure. FOR REAL, THAT’S THE BULK OF THE LEARNING! Also, turns out it IS possible to pick up your pen between cursive letters (I’m looking at you, letter “e”). In general, random doodles make scripts look way more polished. And lastly, when in doubt, an iPad is your artistic BFF. (Call it cheating, but the Procreate app made learning the skill SO much easier for me.) I can’t wait to tackle my next project with this new arsenal of artistic tips! PS: If you want to get started with Lettering, you can take some of our intro classes here.

WEEK 11: Yoga Every day

For real, this is the BEST workout I’ve ever done. I have been an athlete (mostly a runner and soccer player) all of my life, but never before have I seen my body transform as much with a single activity as it has with yoga. (And for mamas out there, yoga is great for flattening abs and toning arms!) Also, holy cow, is this practice restorative! After doing it, I felt open, calm, and alive, which translated into ALL areas of my life (including my crazy travel schedule). Will I be doing more of this? I say yes! (BTW, I recommend YogaGlo as a great online resource to make your practice easier — and fun!)

When you're in between episodes of your favorite January TV shows, then there's nothing better than watching new January movies. (Also, I can't believe it's almost a new year already!! Where did the time go?!). Whether you're a tried-and-true movie theater goer, or you love nothing more than a movie night from the comfort of your own couch, these rom-coms, action movies, and horror flicks coming in 2025 are exactly what you need to add to your New Year's Resolutions.

Here are all the new January movies you can watch in 2025.

1. Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl — On Netflix January 3, 2025

Netflix

Wallace and Gromit are back! Thank goodness, because there's no other way I would want to start a brand new year. This January movie sees Wallace's new "smart" gnome become way too smart — and a dangerous certain someone might be behind everything. Now Gromit has to battle the most sinister of forces to save the day.

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl premieres January 3 and stars Ben Whitehead, Peter Kay, Lauren Patel, Reece Shearsmith, Diane Morgan, Adjoa Andoh, Muzz Khan, and Lenny Henry.

2. Better Man — In Theaters January 10, 2025

Paramount Pictures

This new movie is based on the true story of British popstar Robbie Williams. While examining his rise to fame and his time with boyband Take That, the movie also dives into the highs and lows of fame...all while presenting as a monkey. I'm going to be honest, this movie really confuses me. It's definitely a creative and unique concept, which I've been craving more of, but I'll have to see this movie before I can figure out how I feel!

Better Man premieres January 10 and stars Robbie Williams, Jonno Davies, Steve Pemberton, Damon Herriman, Raechelle Banno, Alison Steadman, Kate Mulvaney, Frazer Hadfield, Tom Budge, and Anthony Hayes.

3. The Last Showgirl — In Theaters January 10, 2025

Roadside Attractions

Pamela Anderson stars as Shelly, a showgirl who has to figure out what the rest of her life looks like when her show suddenly closes after 30 years. With an incredible cast, a award-worthy performance from Pamela, and music by Miley Cyrus, this is one January movie I literally can't stop thinking about.

The Last Showgirl premieres January 10 and stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Brenda Song, Kiernan Shipka, and Billie Lourd.

4. Wolf Man — In Theaters January 17, 2025

Nicola Dove/Universal Pictures

Scary movie fans rejoice! Wolf Man is exactly the kind of movie that'll send shivers down your spine, unrelated to the winter weather. When Blake (Christopher Abbott), Charlotte (Julia Garner), and their daughter Ginger (Matilda Firth) come across a dangerous and mysterious animal, they barricade themselves inside a farmhouse to stay safe. Unfortunately, Blake begins a strange transformation of his own — and puts Charlotte and Ginger in a whole new kind of danger.

Wolf Man premieres January 17 and stars Christopher Abbott, Julia Garner and Sam Jaeger, Matilda Firth, Benedict Hardie, Ben Prendergast, Zac Chandler, Beatriz Romilly, and Milo Cawthorne.

5. Paddington in Peru — In Theaters January 17, 2025

Peter Mountain/StudioCanal/Sony Pictures

If you're already dreaming about a summer vacation, you're not alone — even Paddington Bear is headed somewhere warm! In Paddington in Peru, our favorite cuddly teddy is on a quest to find Aunt Lucy...and brings the whole family along for the ride.

Paddington in Peru premieres January 17 and stars Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Imelda Staunton, Carla Tous, Ben Whishaw, Olivia Colman, and Madeleine Harris.

6. One of Them Days — In Theaters January 24, 2025

Sony Pictures

Keke Palmer and SZA are reviving the BFF comedy in 2025 and I am MORE THAN READY. When Dreux and Alyssa learn Alyssa's BF has spent their rent money, they have to go on a totally unexpected adventure to keep themselves from getting evicted.

One of Them Days premieres January 24 and stars Keke Palmer, SZA, Maude Apatow, and Janelle James.

7. Flight Risk — In Theaters January 24, 2025

Lionsgate

In this new January movie, Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery stars as a U.S. Marshall who must bring a witness to court and deal with the fact the pilot's really a hitman. (I can't help but wonder what Lady Mary would do in this scenario).

Flight Risk premieres January 24 and stars Michelle Dockery, Mark Walberg, and Topher Grace.

8. Inheritance — In Theaters January 24, 2025

IFC Films

Maya's life turns upside down when she learns her father used to be a spy...and then finds herself in the middle of an international conspiracy. No big deal!! Now Maya must evade dangerous hunters and stay alive long enough to find the answers to her questions.

Inheritance premieres January 24 and stars Phoebe Dynevor and Rhys Ifans.

9. You're Cordially Invited — On Prime Video January 30, 2025

Prime Video

Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell are starting 2025 with a bang! This hilarious R-rated rom-com follows Reese's character as she plans her sister's destination wedding...then realizes the venue has double booked them with Will Ferrell, a father who's determined that his daughter's (Geraldine Viswanathan) wedding go perfectly. When I say chaos ensues, I'm talking alligator wrestling, a zebra knocking over the cake, and strippers.

You're Cordially Invited premieres January 30 and stars Will Ferrell, Reese Witherspoon, Geraldine Viswanathan, Meredith Hagner, Jimmy Tatro, Stony Blyden, Leanne Morgan, Rory Scovel, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Ramona Young, Jack McBrayer, and Celia Weston.

10. Valiant One — In Theaters January 31, 2025

Briarcliff Entertainment

When a captain and his unit get trapped behind enemy lines — and their equipment goes out — they have to band together and figure out how to get to safety. This January movie has some familiar faces like Chase Stokes and Lana Condor, and it'll keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

Valiant One premieres January 31 and stars Chase Stokes, Lana Condor, Desmin Borges, Callan Mulvey, Jonathan Whitesell, and Daniel Jun.

11. Mickey 17 — In Theaters January 31, 2025

Warner Bros. Pictures

Mickey Barnes goes on countless life-ending missions after he signs up to be an Expendable. On his quest to colonize the ice world of Niflheim, he's cloned countless times — but, shockingly, nothing really goes wrong until two Mickeys wind up surviving at the same time.

Mickey 17 premieres January 31 and stars Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo.

Stanley 1913, the creator of the famed Stanley tumblers you know and love, just recalled millions of cups due to multiple reports of… burn injuries?!

Here’s what to know about the current Stanley cup recall.

Consumer Product Safety Commission

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPC), the Stanley recall covers all Switchback and Trigger Action travel mugs. These travel mugs pose a “burn hazard” to sippers who have them since the mugs’ lid threads can shrink when exposed to heat and torque, causing the lid to detach during use.

Stanley 1913

Stanley received 91 reports from consumers facing this issue, with 38 burn injuries worldwide. A total of 11 consumers required medical attention from the flaw. The CSPC estimates that about 2.6 million mugs are part of the massive recall.

These are the exact recalled products:

  • Switchback 12-ounce mug, product identification number 20-01437
  • Switchback 16-ounce mug, product identification numbers 20-01436, 20-02211
  • Trigger Action 12-ounce mug, product identification numbers 20-02033, 20-02779, 20-02825
  • Trigger Action 16-ounce mug, product identification numbers 20-02030, 20-02745, 20-02957
  • Trigger Action 20-ounce mug, product identification numbers 20-02034, 20-02746

“We ask that all customers in possession of either product immediately stop use and reach out to Stanley 1913 for a free replacement lid,” a recent Instagram post from Stanley 1913 reads. “At Stanley 1913, we are committed to constant improvement and are focused on creating quality products that are built for life.”

Stanley 1913

If you believe you own any of the recalled products, you can visit www.stanley1913tmrecall.expertinquiry.com/ for a free replacement lid by verifying your mug’s product identification number and place of purchase.
