When Savannah and Marcus Davidsson set out to plan their big day, their main goal was to keep the vibes simple but elegant. The lovebirds met in Raleigh, NC and decided on a destination wedding in California. They had visited Scribe Winery in Sonoma, CA for the first time a year before they became engaged and were instantly captivated by the venue’s natural and romantic charm. So when it came to the specifics for planning their special day, the couple knew they had to come back for the incredible food, rich wine, and truly serene property. With the help of their friends and family, their minimalist vineyard affair, captured by Emily March Photography, ended up being just what they dreamed of. Scroll on for all the deets below.
The team behind Shine Wedding Invitations put their talent to work and designed the invitation suite. Laced in Letter gave the envelopes a romantic twist with stunning calligraphy. The elegant black and white stationery not only set the tone but also worked as a good starting point for their wedding decor.
The owners at Scribe Winery recently restored the Hacienda with flawless attention to detail, and that is exactly where the couple wanted to celebrate their nuptials. “After choosing the venue, we decided to go with a simple theme because we didn’t want anything to distract from the beauty of the property,” said the bride.
Staying on theme with the minimalist look, Savannah wore a simple dress with a long veil. And to include a bit of flair into the groom’s outfit, Marcus opted for an all-white boutonniere (created by Rito Ito) that complemented the bride’s monochromatic bouquet.
Because they had gotten legally married in Sweden the week before, there were no nerves and no big production. Instead, Marcus and Savannah walked down the grassy lawn together. Their outdoor “ceremony” proves that you don’t need much to have a decked-out backdrop. The two lovebirds also opted to save their vows until their dinner party so it would be a more intimate setting in front of their dearest friends and family.
Minimalist centerpieces and tablescapes don’t have to be dull, and this timeless beauty is a good example. The couple wanted a reception under the stars, so in lieu of doing a ton of flowers, they saturated the center of the table with a makeshift runner of different sized candles and a variety of white blossoms.
The venue had amazing wooden tables built from a fallen redwood on the property, which were put together for a casual family-style dinner. “I will never forget how I felt half-way through dinner when I looked around the table to see all the people I cared about in one place,” mentioned Savannah. “Everyone was eating, drinking, laughing, and telling the most incredible stories. It was a truly beautiful evening.”
