These 8 Beauty Trends Will Be *Big* This Spring

There’s a bit of a beauty uniform during the winter: metallic lids, glossy lips, dark polished nails (maybe with a hint of holiday glitz). Come spring, those styles will have faded, leaving room for new trends to fill your makeup routines. If you’re anything like us, who’ve resolved to try the hottest hyped up looks of 2015 first hand, the refreshers are decidedly welcome. From a surge in chic nail art to the return of the red lip to an unexpected (but gorg) way to style your brows, here are eight straight-off-the runway beauty trends that will be *big* this spring.

1. The Rocker Smokey Eye: From piece-y shag hairstyles to long, defined lashes, ’70s signatures are sweeping the beauty realm. The retro stamp on the smokey eye is a party-till-dawn smudge that brings out your inner wild child. You can always stick with a classic black haze, though soft-but-still-daring hues like brown and purple, the latter seen at Derek Lam and Vera Wang (pictured) hit this trend’s moody sweet spot. 2. Minimalist Manicures: When it comes to on-trend manicures, less is more this spring. Minimalist accents are making major noise, from a single piece of striping tape zipping across each nail — a look seen at Kate Spade New York — to dots brushed onto a single nail at Tibi, which means you barely have to lift a finger to step up your nail art game. (Photo via Anna Webber/Getty)

3. Inky Eyeliner: From sweeping winged liner at Saint Laurent to clipped outlines like this rigid not-quite cat eye at Céline to well, this, graphic liner is 2015’s answer to last year’s delicate flick. If you’re don’t already consider your liquid eyeliner your beauty P.I.C., these sharp and steady lines will certainly bring you two together. (Photo via Pascal Le Segretain/Getty)

4. Bold Red Lips: Rouge lipstick is going rogue this spring by staining our pouts every shade in the spectrum. With all hues on-point—from the dark berry at Dolce & Gabbana to the bright orange-reds at Zac Posen to the classic red on Burberry Prorsum model Jourdan Dunn — this WILL be the season you find your red lipstick soulmate, no matter your skin tone. (Photo via Ian Gavan/Getty)

5. Raver Eyes: This season, pop-of-color liner gets a rave-y makeover. Designers used non-traditional products like strips of baby blue leather at Fendi and swipes of orange lipstick at Peter Som to achieve the color punch on the runway. To get a hyper-pigmented look at home using similarly unconventional, but see-for-miles materials, use a page from a magazine to create appliqués (really). If you’re set on sticking with makeup, simply layer on the color until you’ve reached your neon dream. (Photo via Mireya Acierto/Getty)

6. Negative Space Nails: Sometimes your nails are best left unfinished, at least when we’re talking negative space manicures. Swipe some polish across your tips, fill in *just* the half-moon part of your nail art or mix it up like the manis at Charlotte Ronson. The rest isn’t just fine as is, it’s totally on trend. (Photo via Fernanda Calfat/Getty)

7. Next-Level Brows: All this brow buffing we’ve been up to this past year might have secretly been prep for this offbeat look. Because now that we’re used to our furrow stealing the spotlight, why not dress ’em up with color like we do our lips and eyes? Blondes and redheads, take this trend for a spin with a petal pink or dusty rose eyeshadow like on this Badgley Mischka model. Brunettes, tint your brows marsala (that’s actually a thing) or if your hair is really dark, try filling them in with a plum powder. (Photo via Chelsea Lauren/Getty)

8. Fresh Faced: No-filter-style makeup isn’t just great news for your morning beauty ritual (forget fussing with 90% of your makeup kit), but it also might be the best thing for your skincare routine. Barely there makeup like the soft bronzer, rosey blush and peachy lips at Chloé, Tory Burch and Donna Karen (pictured) mean your focus will be on the real beauty basics: cleansing, toning and moisturizing. After spending decades in the entertainment industry, some celebs like Pamela Anderson have opted for a makeup-free look. No one can forget when she stunned photographers right before Paris Fashion Week's Vivienne Westwood show last year by rocking a bare face. She told Vogue France, she wasn't thinking about not "wearing any makeup." However, she didn't want to "compete with the clothes" she was wearing. She felt "freedom" from not trying to "be the prettiest girl in the room" which speaks volumes to us!

Now, Pamela continues to embrace the no-makeup life — and not only does she look gorgeous, but she seems SO happy! The star shared recently how this lifestyle change impacts her day-to-day, and it's honestly incredibly relatable. Here's what she had to say!

Here's what Pamela Anderson just said about adopting a no-makeup life!

1. It saves her a lot of time.

Pamela Anderson stopped by the Live with Kelly and Markshow to talk about filming The Last Showgirl, her childhood, and how not wearing makeup has been beneficial for her. While her makeup-free clip from the episode isn't available on YouTube, PEOPLE reports hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos asking her how her decision has changed her life.

Ripa started with, "You don't travel with a glam squad. How liberating is that for you," while Consuelos followed with, "And how much time have you gotten back?"

The former Baywatch star said she's "saved a lot of time" and admitted that her sons "used to say that I spent half my life in a makeup chair."

2. She feels more focused in general.

Pamela Anderson also admitted things feel easier for her in general. "I feel like I could focus better when I did the film, too." And her life outside of that? She said she's "gotten out of wearing makeup and it's been fun."

It's interesting because Kelly Ripa shared she's been inspired by Pamela Anderson's makeup-free choice. She remembers not wearing makeup for a short while and said to herself, "'Pamela Anderson is a genius." Kelly even thought for a moment, "This is the way to live." We're so here for it!

3. She lives for a glam moment, but appreciates simplicity now.

Pamela's all for being makeup-free now, but she's not bashing glam moments. She actually "loved it" because "it's fun when you're new in the business and you get all this attention." She's just at a point where she's "done that" and wants to "simplify and keep it low key."

She really does "love being elegant, sophisticated" but has found what "works best" for her.

With St. Patrick's Day right around the corner, plenty of people are already celebrating Irish culture and trying to bring a little extra fortune into their lives.

One charming way to tap into the spirit is by naming your little one something lucky. Here are eight of the most adorable baby names that have luck-related meanings.

Scroll to see all the lucky baby names we love for 2025!

1. Evangeline

Zura Modebadze

Evangeline is Greek in origin and derived from the words "eu" and "angelma," meaning "good news" or "good tidings."

This name has gained popularity in the U.S. because it carries a sense of hope and prosperity, making it a wonderful choice for parents welcoming a little girl.

2. Felix

Yan Krukau

With Latin roots, Felix is a timeless baby boy name that means "happy" and "fortunate." If you want to bless your child with a life full of joy, this name definitely conveys positivity and good fortune.

Felix also dates back to the 1st century BC and has ties to the New Testament, as well as several popes. It remains a popular pick in North America, South America, and Africa.

3. Gwyneth

Anna Bondarenko

The name Gwyneth is Welsh in origin and derived from the word "gwynaeth," which means "happiness." It embodies cheerfulness, and "Gwynnie" can even be used as a cute nickname.

It's no secret that actress Gwyneth Paltrow has popularized this name, but it also carries a bit of fantasy, thanks to characters like the priestess Gwyneth Berdara in the beloved book series "A Court of Thorns and Roses."

4. Merritt

Карина Суховерхая

When spelled a bit differently as "Merit," this baby name of Latin origin holds multiple meanings, including "valuable," "worthy," and "deserving of praise." Otherwise, "Merritt," which is British, actually means "boundary gate."

Either way, a baby boy with this name will be lucky, as the ability to set healthy boundaries (and stick to them) is a very sought-after trait.

5. Felicity

Travis Grossen

Derived from Latin, Felicity is another charming name that means "happy" and "good fortune." It's perfect for a little one you hope will bring joy to those around her.

The TV show "Felicity" added to this name's popularity, as well as the release of the American Girl doll Felicity Merriman. Some cute nickname options include Flick and Fee.

6. Asher

Holly Landkammer

While Asher, a name with religious ties, has traditionally been given to boys, it's growing in favoritism as a girl's name as well.

In the Hebrew Bible, Asher is the eighth son of Jacob and the founder of one of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. Jacob blessed Asher before his death, and Moses said, "May Asher be blessed above other sons."

That's why this name is often said to mean "happy" and "blessed." It's a lucky choice that's particularly popular among Jewish families.

7. Destiny

Subin Cherian

Do you feel like your daughter was meant to be? If so, Destiny may be a delightful fit. Derived from the Old French word "destinée" and the Latin "destinare," it translates to "fate" or "one's certain fortune."

In addition to its divine connections, Destiny also has ties to Hollywood. You may not know that Miley Cyrus' given name was actually Destiny when she was born in 1992. Plus, we obviously can't forget about the iconic girl group Destiny's Child.

8. Chance

Sergey Makashin

Last but not least is Chance, a strong name with British roots and a meaning of "good fortune." Originally a diminutive of Chauncey, it's also tied to the title Chancellor, which is given to high-ranking government officials.

So, to set your little one up for a life full of opportunities and luck, you can't go wrong with choosing Chance as a baby name.

I knew beauty trends were officially headed in a different direction when latte makeup dominated social media last year. Everything about it gave the appearance of soft features, making this millennial appreciate the ‘no makeup’ look more and more. And while I'm working on staying up-to-date on all the latest makeup trends, it also reminded me there are outdated trends that unintentionally age people...and definitelyneedto go.

Wanna look younger and more on-trend, too? From super metallic eyeshadow to contour that dominates your face, here are the 8 outdate makeup trends to leave in the early ‘90s to mid-2000s.

The 8 outdated makeup trends you need to stop ASAP!

1. Full Coverage Foundation

KoolShooters

There was a time where wearing full-coverage foundation was all the rage. From drugstore to high-end brands, it seems like they were consistently shoved in consumers’ faces to help us achieve a ‘full beat’ without sitting in a makeup artist’s chair. Also, those of us with dark spots or hyperpigmentation may have relied on them when we were in the thick of our skincare woes.

But these days, wearing too much foundation isn’t as popular as natural and skincare makeup are prioritized. If anything, more people are interested in wearing light-to-medium coverage foundation, skin tints, or tinted moisturizers.

2. Too Much Concealer

George Milton

It wasn’t until I watched this video by makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes that I realized some of us have been too heavy-handed with our concealers. There’s no reason we should be slapping products under the thinnest parts of our face, but we didn’t know any better!

Now that you know you can still get the desired effect with a minimal amount of concealer, don’t revert back to painting your under eyes!

3. 'Baking' Your Setting Powder

Chidi Young

Before you throw away your setting powders, step away from your makeup drawer and have a sit-down chat with me. There isn’t anything wrong with applying them to your face to help ‘set’ your foundation and concealer. However, spending over 10 minutes ‘baking’ your powder (AKA letting it sit untouched) doesn’t work for everyone.

It can lead to creased makeup which can derail your look, plus it’s a pain to correct when you’re halfway through your routine!

4. Overlining Lips

Kaboompics.com

I love a good lip liner, especially if it mirrors my favorite ‘90s makeup look. But, there’s such a thing as overdoing it. The key to lining your lips is following the natural flow of them. Going out of your way to draw above and under your lips’ lines comes off as comical and exaggerated. If anything, use a lip plumping gloss to help your lips look fuller.

5. Overtweezing Your Eyebrows

Getty Images

I don’t even have the words for this outdated makeup look besides wanting to say “no” 20 times in a row. But, I’ll bite and say why this shouldn’t be on your 2025 beauty moodboard.

Some people naturally have thinner eyebrows which is A-okay! However, purposely tweezing your eyebrows to smithereens is cringey. If you truly want to wear this look, here’s what you can do instead of tweezing:

  • Create a faux bleached look by applying a skin tone colored setting powder all over your brows.
  • Once they’ve ‘disappeared,’ take an eyebrow pencil or eyeliner to draw a thin line over them.

I’m…wondering what the ramifications of telling you how to do this will be, but only use go for this look if it’s a part of a themed party…like Halloween.

6. Exaggerated Highlighter On Cheeks

Milad Farhani

The shimmery look is in since it’s winter, but please don’t make it look like you dipped your cheeks into a vat of glitter. You can lightly dust highlighter onto your cheeks for a more natural glow that flows with the rest of your look. Otherwise you’ll look like a walking disco ball which could be the opposite of what you were going for.

7. Heavy Contour Or Bronzer

Laura Garcia

I know the ‘sculpted’ look is popular, but too much contour or bronzer can overpower the rest of your makeup and face. While it’s not impossible to fix if you do it by mistake, using the wrong shade of contour or bronzer may still peep through no matter how much you try to buff it out.

When in doubt, be gentle with your contour or bronzer application!

8. Incredibly Matte Makeup

Nataliia Yatsiuk

Matte makeup that didn’t budge was the ‘It Girl’ look for oily and combination skin girls! We thought it was the answer to our skin’s incessant need to hydrate our faces instead of actually using skincare products that focused on combatting that issue (psst…Vitamin C serums help!).

But now’s the time to break up with this look for good for one reason: dewy skin looks healthier.

While we have you here, learn about the outdated shoe trends you shouldn't be wearing in 2025 either.

Yay — Olivia Culpo just announced she's pregnant with her first baby! She and her husband Christian McCaffrey have been married for almost a year, so we think the timing's perfect. And boy did they make a grand announcement we can't stop gushing over!

When did Olivia Culpo share her pregnancy announcement?

Today! The model posted beautiful photos of her cradling her baby bump while wearing a flowing, pleated dress. She looks like the picture of perfection in both images, signaling her contentment with carrying her first child. And her caption? It captures a short and sweet look at how she's feeling: "next chapter, motherhood 🤍."

Her sisters, Aurora Culpo and Sophia Culpo quickly left comments that sum up auntie energy. While Aurora said, "😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭im so happy ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ cant wait to spoil him/her forever!!!!!," Sophia wrote, "Counting down the days!!!!!🥹🥹🥹." 👀

Jessie James Decker even left a congratulatory comment! "Olivia!!!! I am soooo happy for you and @christianmccaffrey 🥹🥹🥹🥹!!! You’re going to be an amazing mama 😍 😍😍😍😍 soooo happy."

We wonder how long they've known Olivia's pregnant 👀.

Did Christian McCaffrey share his own announcement?

It doesn't look like he personally posted this adorable reel of he and Olivia's baby news, but we still think he deserves a "Husband of the Year" award for letting it be on his Instagram page. We're not setting the bar low; we just think it's admirable when partners are equally excited about expanding their families!

Have Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey shared a due date?

Olivia and Christian haven't shared a due date just yet, but we may have a hint! Olivia recently shared something interesting on Instagram stories about her motor skills at the beginning of her pregnancy. She posted a picture of her in a gym with the text overlay, "I couldn't workout the first 4 months of my pregnancy (not even walking!!!!!) so we're really making it count now...love you @westkeptsecret @mrswestinthebuilding 😘."

How long have she and Christian McCaffrey been married?

Olivia and Christian traded "I Dos" June 29, 2024 according to Vogue. They had a beautiful New England wedding at Ocean house and were surrounded by the love of the people closest to them. Of a funny moment involving Christian during their nuptials, Olivia gushed how much she loved his excitement. "As a bride, there’s no better feeling than your husband not being able to wait a second longer to marry you."

Prior to getting married, the couple's relationship was the result of a "blind date" orchestrated by someone they knew. Olivia said things went so well that they were basically "inseparable" from that point forward!

We can't wait to see if they'll share more news with us so stay tuned for updates!

It's easy to understand why Yellowstone has captivated audiences for five whole seasons. The show is packed with intense drama, complex characters, and stunning landscapes.

Yellowstone is also home to plenty of powerful moments and memorable lines. Whether it's a gut punch of wisdom or a cutting remark, here are some of the show's most iconic quotes.

Scroll to see the most iconic Yellowstonequotes we can't get enough of!

"You're either born a willow or born an oak. That's all there is to it." – Lloyd Pierce

In Yellowstone, the harshness of ranch life shapes its inhabitants in unique ways. Here, Lloyd offers a candid observation about the nature of people, suggesting that some are inherently strong and resolute, like oaks, while others are more adaptable and pliable, like willows.

This quote underscores one of the central themes of the show: the tough world of ranching creates individuals who are either suited for the challenge or will be bent by it.

"The only thing I ask is that you outlive me so I never live another day without you." – Beth Dutton

Beth may be regarded as the toughest character in Yellowstone, but beneath her fierce exterior is a deep well of emotion, especially when it comes to Rip.

In one of the most poignant moments of the series, Beth revealed a side of herself that viewers don't often see: her vulnerability and intense love for Rip. For Beth, having him by her side is more than just about companionship. It's a source of strength and stability.

"You know, when you boil life down, it's funny just how little you need, isn't it?" – Rip Wheeler

This line perfectly encapsulates Rip's simple yet profound outlook on life. As a man deeply connected to the land, he values self-sufficiency and is content with the basics, a philosophy that aligns closely with the rugged Western lifestyle the Duttons defend.

In his eyes, all that truly matters is the ranch and his family. His humble nature and his unwavering loyalty make him a grounding force amidst the chaos of the show.

"The brand isn't something you earn; it's something you live up to." – John Dutton

The Yellowstone brand is not merely a symbol of belonging. As the quote shows, it's also a constant reminder of the responsibility and expectations that come with it.

When Jimmy is given the choice to accept the brand, he isn't just going to be marked as part of the ranch. John Dutton runs his operation with a strict code of loyalty and unquestioned obedience, and Jimmy is being offered an opportunity to prove himself and live a life defined by hard work and sacrifice.

"A man who puts a hand on a member of my family never puts a hand on anything else." – Jamie Dutton

Despite their conflicts and dysfunctions, the Duttons share an unbreakable bond when it comes to protecting their own. Jamie's line goes to show that, even with all their flaws, the Duttons will unite in retribution when one of their own is harmed.

What makes this quote particularly striking is that it comes from Jamie, who's like a black sheep in the family.

"When you fight for a thing, the thing doesn't care if you win or lose because the thing ain't alive. But when you fight for people, they care." – Kayce Dutton

This line delivered by Kayce underscores the difference between fighting for a cause and fighting for the people you love. He points out the contrast between fighting for material possessions, like the ranch, and the genuine connection and impact that comes from fighting for those you care about.

The quote reveals a key difference between him and his father, John Dutton. While John's primary focus is the ranch's preservation, Kayce is more concerned with his family's well-being.

"Learn to be meaner than evil and still love your family and enjoy a sunrise." – John Dutton

In a modern Western like Yellowstone, there are undeniable themes of survival, sacrifice, and loyalty to family. This quote by John reflects the harsh reality of the cowboy lifestyle.

Furthermore, he believes that while life may demand hard choices, it's still possible to find moments of beauty and joy and hold onto the love that makes life worth living. His advice isn't just about fighting evil but surviving in a world where evil is inevitable while preserving a sense of humanity.

"When the misery is bad enough, tomorrow is rarely factored into decisions." – Monica Dutton

Finally, it's no secret that Monica has faced an unthinkable amount of challenges in her life, from the trauma of Kayce killing her brother to dealing with systemic racism. This quote shows her belief that when life is filled with mystery, it becomes nearly impossible to think about the future because the present is all-consuming.

It speaks to the emotional weight of living in such a brutal environment and resonates with many of the characters on Yellowstone.
