A Street Style Guide to Wearing Denim With Denim

Denim on denim might not be a new phenomenon, but it’s certainly one with staying power. Sure, Britney and Justin kind of gave it a bad rap for a while (and by bad, we obvi mean iconic), but if street-style stars have anything to say about it, the power pairing ain’t going anywhere anytime soon. Fashion’s most ‘grammable ladies rock the Canadian tuxedo on the regular and in ways you might not have thought about. With fall rapidly approaching, the time is right for you to morph into the blue jean baby you always knew you were. Ahead, check out 10 ways to do double-denim the It-girl way. (P.S. Have you checked out our Brit + Co Denim Guide? Well, you should)

1. Cropped and Cute: Something Navy’s Arielle Charnas knows you can’t go wrong with a classic blue on blue look. In a cropped, cutoff trucker jacket and busted straight legs, she nailed the Americana cool thing.

2. Mix Master: Lisa Hanbueck paired her dark denim Bardot blouse with a light wash trucker, draped ever so effortlessly off her elbows. Despite not being the most practical way to wear the trend if you need to use your hands, we’re totally digging how she flipped the script and paired denim and denim on top.

3. Chambray Way: Tess Christine found a way around the hot weather with her smocked chambray crop top. Together with rolled jeans, she’s end-of-summer outfit goals.

4. Layer Up: With her denim shirt, tee, anorak, and jeans look, Pam Hetlinger is a study in transitional dressing.

5. Statement Maker: One way to take the blue on blue thing beyond basic? Add attitude with a sassy slogan, like Gabi Gregg does here. The future is (a denim clad) female.

6. Stark Contrast: Viva Luxury’s Annabelle Fleur styled her light-wash jacket with ripped black skinnies for a mash-up that’s cool and casual but still polished for travel. Copying her look? Don’t forget to roll up the sleeves for extra style points.

7. Short and Sweet: Olga Pancenko’s short-sleeved trucker makes for the perfect wear now and later option (try it with a thin turtleneck for fall). She also upped the ante with a denim newsboy cap. That’s commitment.

8. Paper Chase: Not sure you would rock a paper bag jean? Check out style queen Olivia Culpo taking the look for a test drive and tell us you’re not a little curious to give it a try! Denim neckerchief optional.

9. Neck Check: How do you make a button-down and ripped skinnies look luxe? A badass statement necklace, of course. Lindsi Lane takes the all-denim everything look to the next level with her bold neck-cessory.

I’m going to start this off by saying there’s a jeans trend out there for everyone, but I need to speak my truth: we do not need to bring back skinny jeans! The past is the past for a reason, so instead, look to 2025’s hottest denim trends – all of which put your utmost comfort at the forefront.

In place of restricting (and oftentimes unflattering) denim styles like the very aged skinny jean, you’ll find more roomy and billowy designs taking center stage in 2025. I’m talking about barrel jeans, baggy jeans, wide leg jeans – the whole shebang. Plus, as temps begin to warm up, loose-fitting jorts are sure to hit it big (who doesn’t love a divisive trend?).

Scroll on to shop the biggest denim trends of 2025!

1. Barrel Jeans

Abercrombie & Fitch

Abercrombie & Fitch Mid Rise Barrel Jean

The barrel jean hype is real. This unique shape took off in the fall of 2024, and I've been riding the bandwagon ever since.

Pistola

Pistola Wes High Rise Barrel Jeans

Barrel jeans (in my opinion) are flattering on every body type. Whether you're tall, short, petite, or plus-size, the convex silhouette makes ample room – meaning they're ultra-comfy, too.

Free People

We The Free Good Luck Mid-Rise Barrel Jeans

Barrel jeans look great with any sort of get-up you want to rock, from graphic tees to sweaters. As far as shoes go, I think the look of barrel jeans over cowgirl boots is iconic. Otherwise, low-profile shoes like ballet flats, boat shoes, or just some simple sneakers will complete the look!

2. Baggy + Wide Leg Jeans

Levi's

Levi's Cinch Baggy Jeans

This next denim trend for 2025 is also clearly comfy. Baggy and wide leg jeans are hot, and in fact, they're my favorite style of jeans. I wear low-rise, baggy jeans more often than not, and they're superior when it comes to comfort. Sweatpants, who?!

Urban Outfitters

BDG Jaya Baggy Boyfriend Jean

You can find baggy jeans in tons of different washes, but nothing will ever beat a reliable medium-wash like this.

Lee

Lee Legendary Wide Leg Crop Jeans

If you can't stand the though of your jeans sagging (totally understood), reaching for wide leg jeans like this pair from Lee might just be the perfect solution. While still relaxed, these jeans hug the booty and hips, well, better.

No matter if you go the baggy route or the wide leg route, either style of denim will work wonderfully across your wardrobe, whether you want to dress them up or down!

3. Jorts

Free People

Levi's 501 Mid Thigh Shorts

You heard it right, people: jorts are in for 2025. And I'm sopumped – in the way that baggy jeans are eclipsing skinny jeans, jorts are taking the place of way-too-short, way-too-tight denim shorts! It's all about comfort, my friends.

Abercrombie & Fitch

Abercrombie & Fitch Mid Rise 10" Loose Shorts

But just because jorts are comfortable doesn't mean they're not stylish! Though the fit and style may feel a bit unfamiliar to you at first, they're surprisingly easy to style. You can either embrace the loose fit by pairing jorts with an oversized sweater or contrast it with a fitted vest or tank. Easy!

Free People

We The Free Boomerang Long Shorts

Come spring and summer, you're really going to appreciate the flowy, breezy nature of this denim trend.

4. Bold Cuffs

Urban Outfitters

BDG Thea Cuffed Wide Leg Jean

If a bold barrel jean or wide leg isn't statement-making enough for you, you'll love to hear that cuffed jeans are another huge denim trend for 2025. The key here is finding a pair with good contrast between jean + cuff – like this dark-wash pair from BDG!

Gap

Gap Mid Rise Cuffed '90s Loose Jeans

Plus, the bigger the cuff, the better.

Banana Republic Factory

Banana Republic High-Rise Straight Jeans

I love rocking my cuffed jeans with boots of any kind especially during the wintertime, but come spring and summer, they'll still look amazing with flats or sandals.

Denimis essentially seasonless, but come fall and winter, we’re reaching for jeans and jackets like it’s a full-time job. Gone are the days of shorts and skirts – and even your favorite pair of leggings won’t cut it once the temperatures dip. It’s officially time to trade in your years-old skinny jeans for trendier denim pieces that’ll instantly lift your looks! Let these denim trends guide your every style move.

This season erases everything you thought you knew about jeans. They're no longer the uncomfortable, restricting silhouettes of years past – this year’s most popular denim styles are all about comfort. I’m talking baggy silhouettes and wide-leg styles that not only feel good on the body, but provide a unique shape to your outfits that you’ll have tons of fun playing with.

Baggy Jeans

Hollister

Hollister Low-Rise Dark Wash Super Baggy Jeans

I simply cannot escape the baggy jeans trend. After experiencing the sheer comfort of this pair from Hollister, I don’t see myself reaching for high-waisted, skin-tight styles any time soon.

Meredith Holser

The low waist aspect of this pair in particular provides an elongating effect to my torso, and I love wearing them with basic tops. They honestly feel like I’m wearing sweatpants, but don’t look lazy at all.

Urban Outfitters

BDG Ozzy Loose Jean

If it’s a relaxed fit you’re looking for, these loose jeans from BDG are it. They have a straight leg that’s reminiscent of vintage denim styles, so they’re super timeless and easy to wear with just about anything. I know what you may be thinking – baggy jeans aren’t necessarily flattering around the bum. And while that is true, everyone’s going crazy for this low-key style. You can definitely up the baggy look by going all-out with layers and accessories.

Super Wide Leg Jeans

Free People

Levi's Ribcage Wide-Leg Jeans

I’m a big believer that wide leg jeans look good on everyone. Their natural flared effect can help shape out your waist, adding to an hourglass look. They have a very laid back feel to them that looks truly iconic alongside some statement boots!

Abercrombie & Fitch

Abercrombie & Fitch High Rise Wide Leg Jean

Though you can shop wide leg jeans in all sorts of waist heights, I think high-rise styles are the most flattering of them all. This Abercrombie & Fitch pair comfortably (but snugly) hugs your waist and hips before falling into a more relaxed fit around your legs.

Huge Cuffs

Free People

We The Free Final Countdown Cuffed Low-Rise Jeans

Want that off-duty model look? Cuff it. Jeans with exaggerated cuffs are everywhere this season! They’re perfect for drawing attention to the bottom half of your outfits, so there's no excuse not to rock these with your favorite fall shoes!

American Eagle

American Eagle Stretch High-Waisted Stovepipe Cuffed Jean

The cuffing in question also works in a two-toned denim look that’s super easy to achieve. I love that this pair from American Eagle still boasts a simple, familiar silhouette, but has a unique style twist in the cuffs. I’d wear them with some fall-esque clogs and an oversized flannel up top.

Deep, Dark Washes

Gap

Gap Mid Rise '90s Loose Jeans

If I had to sum up the dark wash denim trend in one word, it’d be ‘sophisticated.’ The deeper, almost-black blue color is definitely less casual than a light or medium wash would be, so I think they’re perfect for elevating a still-cozy outfit.

J.Crew

J.Crew Denim Trouser

You could even wear them to the office with the right silhouette and matching garments – these loose-fitting denim trousers could become a total main character moment when paired with ballet flats, a belt, and a tailored cardigan.

Denim Barn Jackets

J.Crew

J.Crew Denim Barn Jacket

Moving away from pants territory, denim jackets will always be a proper fit for fall. Right now, barn jackets (also referred to as chore jackets or barn coats – they’re all the same style) are having a moment, taking on denim in the cutest way. This J.Crew jacket is the perfect final piece for layering on top of sweaters and flannels, and it would even look chic worn with a pair of jeans in a coordinating wash!

Free People

We The Free Denim Barn Coat

This Free People jacket boasts a contrasting corduroy collar that can add a bit of spice to your looks. The oversized, loose fit gives that cool-girl effect that works well with more form-fitting garments like dresses or skirts. I think this is a definite staple that you can wear year after year!

The Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce engagement rumors aren't new, but while the internet discusses whether Taylor's hiding an engagement ring, the celebrity couple rarely talks about it. But in a recent interview ahead of the Super Bowl, when the Kansas City Chiefs tight end (and Eras Tour guest) got yet another engagement question, his answer wasn't no.

Here's what Travis Kelce said about proposing to Taylor Swift.

Will Travis Kelce propose to Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl?

While in New Orleans for the Super Bowl's opening night event on February 3, Travis Kelce was asked whether he plans to propose to popstar girlfriend Taylor Swift during the halftime show. “Wouldn’t you like to know,” Travis responded (via The Kansas City Star).

The last time Travis talked about popping the question, he told friend Jason Sudekis, "you're really pushing it."

And Travis' mom Donna Kelce told Page Six in October that "nobody knows" about a potential engagement: “We will see what happens. You never know.”

And fans are hoping it's not the only time they see Tay during the Big Game.

@callmeadal & then she’ll go on to announce Reputation (Taylor’s Version) 🐍🖤🏈 #swifttok#superbowlhalftimeshow#taylorswift#superbowl#kenndricklamar♬ original sound - therickybarrera

Well, a proposal isn't the only rumor swirling around Taylor Swift and the Super Bowl. The "Cruel Summer" singer will undoubtedly be in attendance to support her boyfriend at his third consecutive Big Game, and Swifties are hoping to see her on the field during Kendrick Lamar's Halftime Performance.

Taylor and Kendrick collaborated on "Bad Blood" (originally in 2015 and again in 2023), and it would be absolutely incredible if they were able to have a moment together! SZA is already confirmed to make a guest appearance and I'm hoping they'll sing "All The Stars" from Black Panther.

Tune into the Super Bowl on February 9 to see if Taylor gives a surprise performance — and if Travis proposes ;).

New Starbucks Refreshers

Starbucks

Blackberry Sage Refresher

Starbucks' latest Refresher flavor combines "sweet blackberries with notes of sage." It's the first-ever Refresher to feature an herby flavor, which Starbucks notes is reminiscent of modern cocktails and mocktails. This first drink of a new trio is prepped with green coffee extract, dried blackberries, and a "dusting" of sage.

Starbucks

Blackberry Sage Lemonade Refresher

“Imagine you’re walking through a garden you’re smelling fresh herbs and then berries,” Billy Altieri, lead beverage developer for Starbucks said about the all-new Blackberry Sage Refresher flavor. “That’s really what you’re getting with this beverage – a balance of subtle notes of sage and sweet blackberry flavors.”

The Blackberry Sage Lemonade Refresher has a brighter effect upon sipping, thanks to the tart Starbucks lemonade it's mixed with.

Starbucks

Midnight Drink

The third and final Blackberry Sage Refresher bev is called the Midnight Drink, and it's made with a delicious splash of coconut milk for a creamier feel. Which one will you try first?
