The weather is warming up, and we’re ready to take full advantage. With longer days filled with sunshine, there’s no time like the present to #roséallday! That’s why we’re teaming up with Day Owl Rosé to throw the ultimate outdoor brunch. This newly released rosé is everything you could want in your perfectly pink wine. It’s bright, citrusy, and just what every sunny day needs.
So turn the sunshine UP and soak in these summertime vibes with a brunch that is meant to inspire the day owl in all of us. Scroll on, take note of these six tips, and let’s do this!
Setting the Table
Create the dreamiest of tablescapes to get your friends in the mood for a good time. Set the theme with something fun and colorful that will get your day started right.
Tip 1: Add Decor With a Summer Twist
Pump up the summer vibes with some themed decor. We decided to add a little island flavor to our brunch with some colorful and tropical-inspired elements. We used artificial palm fronds to create a table runner, and coupled them with some bright tissue honeycombs. We even took it a step further with pineapple vases and coconut acai bowls. For the pineapple vases, you just cut off the top and core the fruit for the ideal floral vessel. And get crackin’ on those coconuts for a tasty twist on your serving bowls.
Tip 2: Make a Custom Ice Bucket
You’re going to LOVE this easy and super cute DIY ice bucket. It fits in flawlessly with the tropical decor and is just the thing to keep your rosé at the ideal cool and crisp temperature. Find out how to make it here.
What to Serve
Fresh, light, and bright is the way to go when forming your summer brunch menu. You’ll want to incorporate lots of seasonal fruits and lighter fare.
Tip 3: Pick One Dish to Pair With Your Wine
In addition to pairing well with sunshine, a hot pair of sunnies, and lounging poolside, Day Owl Rosé definitely goes well with the crisp flavors of watermelon. Perfect for the season, this watermelon salad is easy to make and super tasty. Dice your melon, add some feta, mint, and a drizzle of balsamic, and you’re ready to serve. Nothing beats a cool fruit salad on a steamy, hot day.
Tip 4: Serve Something Savory
To help offset the sweet flavors of the fruit salad and to complement the notes of citrus in the rosé, serve something for a savory palate. We made smoked salmon crostinis, complete with creme fraiche and slivered chives. Tasty and simple to prepare — it’s a new favorite brunch staple.
Keep the Party Going
An outdoor brunch doesn’t have to end just because the meal is over. Carry on the relaxing brunch vibes with some finishing touches.
Tip 5: Stay Cool
Sitting, soaking up the rays, and sipping on rosé can definitely go to the head. You’ll definitely want to take a moment to cool off and stay hydrated. Let your friends cool their jets by taking their toes for a refreshing dip.
Tip 6: Play Some Games
Continue your day filled with rosé by bringing out a little taste of competition with some friendly outdoor activities. Bocce, cornhole, or badminton are just the team activities you’re looking for. Get your friends to mix and mingle by teaming them up with people they don’t already know.
We got this brunch on LOCKDOWN. We hope you took note, because this is how a summer brunch should be spent — with good food, good friends, and great wine!
