When Does 'The White Lotus' Air?

The White Lotus season 3 is finally on its way, and it is, without a doubt, one of my most-anticipated 2025 TV shows. And we finally have an official release date! The new 8-episode season is coming even sooner than I could have hoped for, and there are plenty of sexy surprises in store.

In addition to the highly-anticipated return of Natasha Rothwell's Belinda, we're also going to meet characters played by Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Aimee Lou Wood. Talk about a stacked cast! I can't wait to watch the new episodesthis February, but this trailer is definitely holding me over for now!

The White Lotus season 3 premiered February 16, 2025. This season takes place in Thailand (after season 1 took us to Hawaii and season 2 took us to Italy), but amidst the stress-management meditation and incredible food, our cast is dealing with plenty of secrets, testing their limits throughout their week-long vacation.

"What happens in Thailand stays in Thailand," is the perfect way to open the trailer for this debaucherous new season. There's a lot to unpack throughout this almost 3-minute video. Here's what we noticed:

The Thailand White Lotus property is stunning! Every season makes me want to book a vacation ASAP.
Belinda looks gorgeous — so happy to see our girl thriving!
Our classic White Lotus family features kids who clearly have nothing in common or want anything to do with their family.
Responding to "I hope you enjoy Thailand," with "We usually go to the Caribbean" is that perfect White Lotus humor I live for. It's not in your face, but it gets the point across so well.
Belinda's there to learn and "bring the magic back to Maui." (Could this mean we get a return to the Hawaii resort in a future season?!)
Aimee Lou Wood and Walter Goggins playing a multi-generational couple is perfect — especially with little details like Aimee saying Walter should get a facial because someone thought he was her dad. Incredible.
"It means we're not dead yet," is such good foreshadowing given the morbid nature of this show.
"I think the cosmos brought us together," is more amazing White Lotus writing — these characters are always kooky, eccentric, and so addictive.
"We're poor now and daddy's going to prison" is a classic White Lotus character problem. You can't help but love to laugh at the incredulous Rich People Problems on this show!
It looks like all the crime described on the island sets up the potential for lots of different whodunnit murder scenarios we could end up with. I have a feeling we'll all be shocked at how this story turns up from who ends up in the body bag to who puts them there.
"Someone once said, 'The secret to life is knowing when to stop.'"
Oh and we get a new version of the theme song! I'm sure it'll be stuck in our collective brain for many months to come!

The teaser trailer gave us a glimpse at this exciting season back in December 2024.

"Everyone runs from pain towards pleasure," the teaser trailer voiceover said. "But they get there only to find more pain." The montage of late-night parties and unsettling shots like Parker Posey staring down the camera (and someone grilling a live crab until it catches on fire??) had me convinced from the beginning that The White Lotus season 3 was going to serve us an insane helping of both pain and pleasure.

We also got shots of Patrick Schwarzenegger lounging by the pool, Jason Isaacs taking a paranoid stroll through the jungle, and a coupled-up Aimee Lou Wood and Walton Goggins celebrating the fact their vacation didn't kill them.

And creator Mike White says 'The White Lotus' season 3 is going to be bigger than ever.

We know that The White Lotus season 3 is going to be the biggest season yet, thanks to interviews with the creator and crew. “It’s going to be a supersized White Lotus,” creator Mike White said in an interview with EW. “It’s going to be longer, bigger, crazier. I don’t know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that’s a good thing…I’m super excited about the content of the season.”

And he's not the only one. Natasha Rothwell told PEOPLE that "White Lotus is going to give you a run for your money.”

"It's an excellent season and people are going to be very pleased," she continues. There's always something special about a third season thanks to the combination of familiarity and brand-new adventures, and the seductive intrigue The White Lotus season 3 is already proving my point.

This hilarious TikTok trend starts off with users holding an adorable infant with the text "I miss how my body looked before you." In addition to starting conversations about postpartum bodies (because every body is a good body!!) the trend insinuates the TikTok user is the baby's mother before providing a hilarious twist. So when Nina made her own video, we all lost it!

Nina Dobrev's TikTok features the Vampire Diaries actress in leggings and a gray cardigan with white hearts holding a sweet little newborn in a onesie covered in rainbows. Just like the rest of the videos on the trend, she says "I miss how my body looked before you," before cutting to a close-up on the baby's face with the words "Girl you're my aunt. Go to the gym." Not to mention the fact the baby is giving her some serious side eye. I can't help but giggle!

Naturally, the video comments were filled with people who fell for the trick, saying everything from "I THOUGHT I MISSED A CHAPTER" to "I first thought you had a baby and didn't tell us" and "GIRL I STARTED SCREAMING."

And one fan even added, "She would be an amazing mother."

Nina Dobrev and Shaun White are currently engaged (even if they're not wedding planning at the moment), and can't wait to see what life brings in the future.

"They've definitely discussed making things official. They've talked about getting married, having kids, the whole nine yards," an insider told Us Weekly in 2023, adding that the couple is “so in love and can’t imagine not spending the rest of their lives together. What they have is the real deal."

8 "Outdated" 80s Fashion Trends That Aged Horribly

The 1980s were a decade of maximalism: bigger was better, and brighter was bolder. Clashing patterns, eye-catching accessories, and perms that seemed to defy gravity ruled the era and created some unforgettable style moments.

But while plenty of trends, like high-waisted jeans and scrunchies, have made a comeback among younger generations, not everything from the '80s deserves a revival. Here are some looks that are better left in the past.

1. Bulky Shoulder Pads

There's no fashion trend that screams '80s quite like big shoulder pads. These boxy additions (as pictured in the above shirt) found their way into blazers and dresses, creating a look that was arguably equally as impractical as it was bold.

Nonetheless, this style was popularized by the rise of power dressing and meant to project confidence and authority, particularly for women who were breaking down barriers in the workplace.

The intention behind shoulder pads was empowering, but today, many would agree the result leans more toward comically oversized than chic.

2. Animal Print Blazers

Another loud and unapologetic staple of this decade was animal print blazers. Whether leopard, zebra, or even tiger-striped, these statement pieces definitely turned heads and were sometimes even paired with metallic fabrics, taking an already bold outfit and pushing it over the edge.

Nowadays, a touch of animal print can add flair to an outfit. But the extreme blazers of this era are best remembered as a relic of fashion's past.

3. Nylon In Neon

You probably wouldn't bust out a nylon tracksuit to run errands today. Yet, back in the '80s, this look was considered the height of fashion. People would rock them in blinding shades of hot pink, neon green, and electric blue just to hit the mall or visit the grocery store.

Even though the flashy fit definitely stood out, nylon wasn't exactly the most flattering choice and kind of made people look like highlighters. Not to mention, the synthetic fabric wasn't exactly breathable since it trapped heat.

Acid-wash denim was synonymous with looking "cool," but for older generations, the trend was ridiculous. They couldn't understand why anyone would intentionally wear jeans that looked as if they'd been dunked in bleach.

Regardless, anything from jeans to jackets and full-on denim looks got the acid-wash treatment, creating outfits that seemed more like laundry accidents than a fashion statement.

Thanks to Princess Diana, oversized collars became a go-to style choice. In hindsight, these exaggerated pieces of fabric were more comical than chic.

Sure, they theoretically could be styled thoughtfully and add a vintage touch of elegance. But more often than not, they wound up looking more like unflattering bibs and can stay behind in the history books.

6. Side Ponytails

Why wear your hair in the center when you could sweep it to the side? That was the thought process behind this popular hairdo in the 1980s.

Side ponytails were hiked up high, volumized, and usually paired with teased bangs. At the time, teens considered the look effortlessly cool. In 2025, the era of "slick back" buns and lower ponies, it's more just quirky.

7. Hammer Pants

M.C. Hammer and his iconic dance moves gave us one of the craziest fashion statements of the '80s: harem or "hammer" pants. These oversized pants might've been comfortable, but their ultra-low sag up top and billowing legs made them nearly impossible to style in a way that didn't feel like a costume.

Certain variations of hammer pants in more modern forms have stuck around, but the exaggerated and parachute-like proportions of this era are outdated now.

8. Patterns On Patterns

Finally, everyone laughs at the early 2000s for the layering of so many physical garments, like long sleeves under T-shirts under tank tops. Layering was also "in" during the '80s, just in a different way.

This decade saw the unashamed mixing of all kinds of patterns, like stripes with florals or plaid with polka dots. It resulted in outfits that clashed and looked chaotic.

Today, some thoughtful print mixing is considered a chic way to make a statement. However, the 1980s lacked the balance needed to really pull it off.

Everyone's Losing It Over This "Genius" 'White Lotus' Season 3 Theory: "Crazy Good"

If there's anything HBO's The White Lotus season 3 has proven, it's that we need to pay attention! This season is so detailed and complicated, and it really shows off what a genius Mike White is. So it's definitely a possibility that The White Lotus season 3 theories on the internet could ring true — especially this theory that'll have you rethinking everything.

Does Piper Ratliff represent the Pied Piper?

It's not uncommon for contemporary media to pull from fairytales and legends, and TikTok user @shonagons_list highlights a connection between The White Lotus season 3's Ratliff family (Timothy, Victoria, Saxon, Piper, and Lochlan) and the Pied Piper of Hamelin, Saxony.

In addition to the fact that Piper and Saxon's names both connect to the story, @shonagons_list points out that the Pied Piper "led the rats ('Ratliff') and children away from their home and to their deaths by drowning. Lochlan' means lake-place, while the name 'Victoria' suggests victory, despite her overt linguistic allusions to death (i.e. having "slept like a corpse")."

The video has 1.1 million views and over 92 thousand likes at the time of reporting, and other White Lotus fans flooded the comments to discuss the theory, especially since (as one user jokes in the comments), "this is one of those TikTok theories I take to brunch and pretend I came up with it."

"This is a crazy good theory," another user adds, complete with crying emojis.

This family is literally surrounded by water with the location of the resort, but Forsaken-Pattern-885 on Reddit points out how they're dressing in blues and greens, as well as nautical preppy styles. Imagery surrounding hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil has come up multiple times with the Ratliff siblings. Since the family's already had at least one brush with death (remember Victoria interrupted Timothy's plans to end his life?) I'm wondering if these details have been a sign the whole time that the kids will make it out alive — especially since the original Pied Piper doesn't kill the children, he just leads them out of the village.
