Get ready, hardcore Harry Potter fans, because The Cursed Child is here to bring magic back to our muggle world in the much-buzzed play that hits the stage this week. Seeing new adventures for the wizarding folks we’ve come to know and love so dearly, our first look at a grown up Harry and his family, along with Ron, Hermione and their daughter, Rose, as well as Draco and son, Scorpius, had everyone giddy with glee. But now, as the kids get ready to head off to Hogwarts for the first time, we’ve been given a peek at where they’ll be doing their enchanted studies.
In a pic tweeted from the play’s Twitter account, we’re given a simple yet oh-so-exciting first look at the story that will unfold on stage. Quickly taking in over 10,000 likes and nearly as many RTs, it seems like fans are definitely pumped.
In the play that will pick up 19 years after we last saw the wizarding characters, we see Hogwarts with an arched ceiling and house banners proudly and prominently hanging. Books line the columned walls, creating a look that does well to capture the feeling of Hogwarts while moving it from the page and screen to the stage. Rose Granger-Weasley stands in the center of the action with various robed figures on either side, which we can safely assume are the profs and fellow students.
With preview performances taking the stage this week, the official performances are scheduled to premiere July 30th, although it’s already sold out through May 2017. Talk about a hot ticket! For those who weren’t lucky enough to nab a seat to the live event, the book adaptation will be released on July 31st and is already one of Amazon’s three top-selling books of the year.
