Boy-ee! The Talkboy is Real, Will Make You Kevin McAllister in No Time

Editor’s Note:This post was originally part of our 2014 April Fools’ Prank. And because we think the ’90s are all that (and a bag of chips), we decided to leave it for all you present-day readers who may or may not still want to be Kev McA. Keep on scrolling to keep the angsty/sparkly dream alive ;)

We can’t let you loose in Duncan’s Toy Chest, but we do have some good news. Kev’s troublemaking toy in the movie can soon be yours in real life. You’re probably dialing up your friends to scream “Oh mY GaWddddd!” into the receiver right about now. That was totally our response too. Hey, who said toys are for kids?! This one has Brit + Co. written all over it. In gel pens, duh!

Since so many little ones wrote to request their own version of Kevin’s handheld recorder, (the one in the movie was actually just a prop!) Tiger Electronics decided to make a real version that looks exactly like the one in the flick. It has all the same features too.

An easy-to-move switch lets you toggle effortlessly from normal speed to slow or fast. You can record in a different speed or change it up or down after you record. Credit card? You goooott ittt. Its small size makes it totally portable — handy for on-the-go pranks or as a stand-in for your Walkman with an audio jack you can plug your headphones into. It doesn’t come with batteries or cassette tapes, but it’s about time you taped over your ex’s mixtapes anyway, don’tcha think?

We love new technology around here and think this could really spark some creativity in the kids and teens who get their hand into it. If we had these growing up, we would have recorded mega talk shows on it. Plus, we think its place in pop culture will live on well after you and your sibs have worn out the Home Alone VHS.

Rumor has it that a Talkboy just for girls will be out soon too. Um, what? Will it be, like, pink and called Talkgirl instead? Totally necessary… Not!!

What do YOU all think: Is Talkboy a toy for you too? Tell us what’s good in the chatroom below!

'90s babies, the time has come: we're now officially a part of a historical American Girl doll timeline. The company announced their newest historical girls, fraternal twins Isabel and Nicki Hoffman, on February 22 and Twitter went wild over the fact that the 1990s are now "historical" (although...they were almost 25 years ago).

The twins are giving us some major Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen vibes, and in addition to the dial-up computer and Pizza Hut dinner, the 18-inch doll collection is a treasure trove of details, looks, and toys from our childhoods (including the dolls' own American Girl magazine!). Let's take a little trip down memory lane with the American Girl '90s dolls.

Meet Isabel + Nicki from the American Girl Doll '90s Collection

Isabel™ & Nicki’s™ Ultimate Collection ($326): Isabel Hoffman™ Doll, Journal & Accessories ($151); Nicki Hoffman™ Doll, Journal & Accessories ($151); Isabel™ & Nicki's™ Pet Set ($34)

The American Girl dolls have everything from composition notebooks and overall dresses to flannels and chokers. If we flipped through our childhood scrapbooks, we could point out these exact details in our own lives!

Isabel™ & Nicki’s™ Bedroom Bundle ($641): Isabel™ & Nicki’s™ Computer & Desk Set ($145); Isabel’s™ Floral Dreams Pajamas ($34); Nicki’s™ Skater Dreams Sleep Shirt ($28); Isabel’s™ Bed & Floral Dreams Bedding Set ($150); Nicki’s™ Bed & Animal-Print Bedding Set ($150); Isabel’s™ Bedroom Accessories ($50); Nicki’s™ Bedroom Accessories($50)

Reversible bedspreads, funky pillows, and animal slippers? Cute bedroom accessories and inflatable chairs? Their own dial-up computer? These girls are living our childhood dream.

Pizza Hut® BOOK IT!™ Set ($32)

We'd eat pizza everyday if we could, and we're certain those childhood trips to Pizza Hut is where our love for the cheesy dish began.

Isabel™ & Nicki’s™ Sports Bundle ($255): Isabel™ & Nicki's™ 2-in-1 Tennis Court & Skate Spot ($175); Isabel’s™ Tennis Outfit ($40); Nicki’s™ Skateboarding Outfit ($40)

Whether you dreamed of skateboarding around town or you played tons of tennis à la Break Point, you don't have to pick when you have a 2-in-1 tennis court and skating rink.

What do you think of this new American Girl doll collection? More importantly, what do you think about the fact that the '90s were almost 25 years ago?! Whew. Let us know on Twitter.

If there's anything Lorelai Gilmore loves in this world, it's coffee, coffee, coffee! The Gilmore Girls character literally always has a cup o' Joe in-hand, and even jokes at one time or another that she'd like to have the drink in an IV. (I wonder if that's what would finally cure my Monday morning slump?). Well, in honor of Gilmore Girls fall, one Starbucks location created their own drink to honor the Coffee Queen — but it didn't go exactly like they planned.

  • On September 26, an Odessa, Texas Starbucks advertised a "Lorelai Gilmore" recipe.
  • Gilmore Girls fans quickly pointed out Lorelai would be "a black dark roast girlie."
  • The location also offers an Emily Gilmore drink and a Rory Gilmore drink.

On September 26, the Instagram account for a Starbucks in Odessa, Texas advertised free samples of the drink they named The Lorelai Gilmore. The drink is made up of blonde roast coffee, oat milk, pumpkin sauce, cinnamon dolce cold foam, and cinnamon powder.

But despite how delicious the drink sounds (and the fact Lorelai would support any and every coffee lover snagging a cup), Gilmore Girls fans quickly took to the comments to point out one glaring detail: she definitely drinks her coffee black.

"Real ones know [Rory and Lorelai Gilmore] both drank coffee black no cream no sugar," one user says, while another agrees Lorelai would be "a black dark roast girlie."

A third suggests she'd order "a coffee with a whisper of peppermint," which totally has me thinking about her iconic "I smell snow" moments! And now I'm craving a peppermint mocha...

Starbucks

But if you're a PSL fan, don't worry. Latte lovers in the comments also pulled through, promising the drink tastes just as good as it sounds. "Kudos to whoever came up with this!!" one user adds. "Tried it yesterday and then again today, found the perfect pumpkin ratio for me✨✨✨ ready to embrace pumpkin szn like NEVER BEFORE 👀"

The Odessa Starbucks also featured a Rory Gilmore drink (iced chai with white mocha, pumpkin foam, caramel drizzle, and cinnamon dolce topping) and an Emily Gilmore drink (London fog with oat milk and honey).

BRB while I go whip up these drinks for myself!
