If you love the thrill of the vintage hunt and discovering one-of-a-kind treasures, you're not alone. There's a rise in secondhand shopping as many shoppers want to live more sustainably and on a budget while creating unique, personalized aesthetics. The beauty of antique shopping lies in the fact that every era has its charm, but the key is finding pieces that truly resonate with your individual style. Whether you’re drawn to the elegance of Art Deco, the cozy appeal of modern farmhouse, or the undeniable coolness of the '70s, there’s something you'll find that will make your home feel layered and grounded in history.

Now there are a ton of curated marketplaces like Etsy, Chairish, Sunbeam Vintage, and Heirloomed that match buyers with their dream vintage finds without having to visit your local antiques faire or shop (although that's always a fun outing too).

Here are 2025 vintage shopping trends to shop on your next antique hunt.

Chairish

1. Western Art

Landscapes from the early 20th century and western themes are en vogue, but don't limit yourself to paintings and wall art. Look beyond to unique pieces that ground your home with a bit of history — think heirloom textiles, artisanal ceramics, and sculptural clay accents that tell a story. This 1927 horse painting by Raoul Millais from Chairish is nearly $7,000, but you can lean into Studio McGee x Target's cowboy decor with its Stallion on Canvas Board with Antique Frame for just $12!

Magnolia

2. Art Deco Mirrors

Nothing elevates a bathroom or entryway quite like a distinctive mirror that sets your space apart from mass-produced design you see all over. Art Deco mirrors break away from traditional shapes with curvy and geometric silhouettes and intricate details that make a bold statement. This Magnolia Vintage Inspired Art Deco Mirror is a subtle nod to the era.

Etsy

3. Romantic and Sculptural Lighting

Vintage chandeliers, sconces, and table lamps are more than just lighting — they’re statement pieces that add artistic charm to your space. Find a one-of-a-kind piece that reflects your style, and swoon whenever you switch it on and off.

Etsy

4. Miniature Accents

Miniature spoons, figurines, and trinkets add a touch of personality to dresser and tablescapes. Seek out tiny treasures that bring you joy but also infuse your decor with playful if not meaningful charm.

Shutterstock

5. Curvy Headboards

A headboard can instantly elevate a room, and antique stores are the perfect treasure troves for finding unique shapes and designs. You can choose to restore, upholster, or embrace its original charm to add character and a stunning focal point in your space.

Heirloomed

6. Floral Tableware

I'm absolutely swooning over these Heirloomed vintage plates. They transform any table setting into a beautifully curated, creative masterpiece.

Micheile Henderson

7. Unfinished Brass Accents

Unfinished brass accents like candlestick holders, hardware, and trays add a timeless vintage charm to your home.

Elsie Green

8. Restored Wood Furniture

Reclaimed wood hutches and buffets like this one from Elsie Green are having a major moment in the vintage market. They also offer stylish and functional storage.

Shutterstock

9. Colorful Glassware

Vintage glassware never goes out of style, and adding colorful pieces that complement your aesthetic can make your dinner parties truly gorgeous.

Revival

10. Reclaimed Rugs

More sellers are restoring natural vintage rugs like this Revival one-of-a-kind vintage rug, hand-knotted by Beni M'Guild tribes in Morocco, with beautiful patterns. They are a great way to complement the art on your walls with art on your floors.

Sweet Magnolias season 4 is almost here — and based on the new trailer, we're in for a ton of surprises...and not just because Maddie has declared this to be a "new chapter." Despite the tragedy and storm that are coming in the TV show this season, Helen, Maddie, and Dana Sue (JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Heather Headley, and Brooke Elliott) are definitely going to get through it together.

Keep reading for a breakdown of that new Sweet Magnolias season 4 trailer before new episodes drop February 6, 2025.

JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Heather Headley, and Brooke Elliott weather a variety of storms in 'Sweet Magnolias' season 4.

There's always a lot that happens between Halloween and Christmas Day, but Sweet Magnolias season 4 is really packing on the drama. I'm talking "a tragedy, a town crisis and a fierce storm," according to the official trailer.

Throughout the new Sweet Magnolias season 4 trailer, we get a glimpse of that storm, protests in town, and what appears to be a funeral. Dana Sue hugs an emotional Annie, Maddie finally voices her fear of losing someone she loves, and Helen has to deal with just how much the town is struggling. TLDR; Serenity is dealing with a lot of unrest in a lot of different forms. But despite the difficulty the message of the show remains clear.

"We're best friends," Heather Headley's Helen reminds Maddie. "Best friends carry each other, and each other's burdens." And that's really what the show is all about.

Showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson told TUDUM that season 4 will look at "the twists and turns of romance, the complexity of friendship, the surprises that pop up in life and how all these things make us more grateful for the people who love us, the people who fight for — and with — us, and the people who can make us laugh, whatever we’re going through.”

And if you ask me, most importantly, Sweet Magnolias proves that friendship has the power to change our lives. “True friendship is a living thing: It has to change and grow as we do," she continues. "And that’s not always easy. But that’s what makes it beautiful.”

Committing to a landscaping project can dramatically upgrade your home's curb appeal and boost its property value — it's an investment absolutely worth making. And you can do it in stages to suit your budget! Recently, I turned my all-rock front yard into a lush, multifunctional oasis. Now, it features distinct areas: a cozy pebble circle with Adirondack chairs perfect for reading, a grassy spot ideal for kids/dogs to play, and native plants and trees that beautifully frame and shade the space. This upgrade not only transformed my home's aesthetic but also significantly improved its functionality. We have so much more usable square footage now that had been off-limits because the rocks were SO uncomfortable to walk over. If you're ready for a landscaping upgrade, take my advice and make a design plan first — it could make your house look way more expensive in the long run.

Here are 14 landscaping tips to DIY a stunning front yard with expensive curb-appeal!

Shutterstock

1. Layer Your Plants

You can sketch out a plan based on your usable space and how you hope to use it. Place taller trees and shrubs toward the back, medium-sized plants in the middle, and low-growing flowers or ground cover like clover, creeping thyme, or moss to create a full, lush look.

Gautham Reghu

2. Grow Climbing Plants

Cover trellises and fences with climbing plants like jasmine or Bougainvillea, whatever suits your climate, to maximize green space and add visual interest to your front yard.

Omri Cohen

3. Plant Flowering Shrubs

Plant shrubs like hydrangeas, azaleas, or camellias that provide seasonal changes, like greenery in the cooler months and bursts of color come spring.

Dziana Hasanbekava

4. Choose a Variety of Textures and Colors

You'll want to mix different plant textures to add visual interest and depth to your landscaping. Some of the grasses, ground cover, flowers, and trees I used included White Fountain Grass, Lamb's Ear, Icelandic poppies, Bougainvillea (the peach variety), olive and lemon trees for my Northern California yard. My color palette was focused on the green and citrus color families. Talk to your local gardening store about plants that work best in your area and find ones that you love.

5. Use Evergreen Plants for Structure

Planting evergreens like boxwood or juniper will help you maintain a lush appearance even during colder months while providing a structured framework for seasonal plants.

Derick McKinney

6. Plant Native and Drought-Resistant Plants

If you live in a drought-prone climate, look for plants that require minimal water and maintenance, such as succulents, lavender, or ornamental grasses.

Leeloo The First

7. Install Curved Garden Beds

If you have the space for it, design your landscaping with gently curved flower beds instead of straight lines to create a more organic look.

Amie Roussel

8. Grow Wildflowers

You won't regret converting a section of your yard into a wildflower meadow to attract pollinators and have pretty bouquets at full bloom. My daughter and I wanted to attract ladybugs and butterflies and chose our plants accordingly.

Shutterstock

9. Plants Edibles (No, Not That Kind)

Mix herbs, fruit-bearing plants, and veggies into your landscape for a sustainable and functional front yard that feeds your soul and your belly!

Jamie Hagan

10. Plant Shade Trees

Deciduous trees can provide shade, improve air quality, and reduce your home's energy costs by keeping it cooler in the summer.

Shutterstock

11. Add Porch Plants

Along the lines of layering your plants, porch plants hung from above, such as ferns, petunias, or ivy, add charm, texture, and a touch of nature to your outdoor space.

Ben Ashby

12. Create a Focal Point

Design around a statement piece such as a reading nook (in the case of my space), a bird bath, a sculptural tree like a Japanese maple, or for a more traditional look, a flower-filled urn, surrounded by lush plantings to draw the eye and anchor the design.

Lina Kivaka

13. Use Pots to Cover Concrete

Not blessed with a bed full of soil? No problem. Use potted plants to create an inviting, welcoming look to your front yard or steps.

Jason Leung

14. Add a Pop of Color

Painting your door a bright color to contrast with all the lush greenery can really make your landscaping pop and your home exterior look strikingly good.
