15 Women in Tech You Need to Follow

By now, you should be pretty familiar with the fact that at Brit + Co, we believe that everyone is creative. Everything we do stays true to that mission, and we’re particularly focused on inspiring and enabling women and girls to tap into their inner maker. The world of innovation and invention that surrounds technology is no exception to that goal, and just like Intel’s Sandra Lopez, we believe diversity fuels innovation in the tech world and everywhere.

That’s why we’ve teamed up with Intel to compile a list of the most inspiring women in tech — brilliant thinkers, makers and doers. From engineers to electronic artists to the CTO of the USA (yes, that’s a job title), here are 15 women in tech you need to follow STAT to fuel that innovation inside us all.

Anouk Wipprecht, Wearables Designer

@anoukwipprecht): First up, designer/artist/technologist Anouk Wipprecht. This Netherlands-based innovator is making a name for herself in the world of fashionable technology with designs that move, breathe and react to the environment around them. Her cutting-edge tech couture pieces incorporate everything from circuitry, plastic tubes, foils and so much more, providing plenty of eye candy for tech + fashion lovers alike. Check out Intel IQ to see her fashion-forward pieces in motion. Trust us, you’re totally gonna want to rock the Spider Dress yourself. (Photo via Robert Lunak/WIRED)

Jesse Genet, Founder of Lumi

@jessegenet + @lumi): This maker fused her passion for fashion, photography, technology, design and textile printing to create a simpler and cheaper way to produce high-quality prints. Jesse’s company Lumi lets creative people everywhere customize literally anything (ex. a stamp or silk screen) without spending their entire paycheck with its innovative water-based dye that develops color through sunlight. That’s one way to turn your bright idea + passions into a game changer, Jesse. (Photo via Brit + Co + Lumi)

Roma Agrawal, Structural Engineer at WSP

@romatheengineer): Roma picked up a strong interest in engineering because she felt the field was the perfect pairing of her love for science and design. These days she’s an associate structural engineer at WSP helping design bridges, skyscrapers and more with architects. One of the most recognizable of those structures just so happens to be the tallest building in Western Europe, The Shard. Outside of her professional career, Roma promotes engineering and other science-based professions to young people and underrepresented groups throughout the world. Debbie Sterling, Founder of GoldieBlox

@debbieblox): Not only is Debbie’s storytelling-construction-set company “disrupting the pink aisle” for little girls — it’s mission is so much more than that. Inspiring young girls to become future engineers and innovators, this female CEO is redefining playtime everywhere. (Photo via Michael Loccisano/Getty + GoldieBlox)

Brina Lee, Software Engineer at Instagram

@leebrina): As Instagram’s first female engineer, this lady is challenging the gender gap in a big way by making a huge impact on a small yet powerful team. Brina first fell in love with the field after getting into web coding and realizing it was instant gratification after an upload and refresh of a page. She has been implementing her ideas ever since at Instagram and has become a young, but strong voice for females in the tech space. (Photo via Maykel Loomans/Elle + Instagram)

Tracy Chou, Software Engineer at Pinterest

@triketora): A big proponent for women in the tech field, who has written about the lack of diversity, Tracy is a strong advocate in the startup community. In addition to voicing her opinions, these days she’s working on product, platform and infrastructure projects at Pinterest. Before her current tenure at the DIY social network, she turned down a role at Facebook to join Quora when there were only a handful of other team members — that’s a fearless lady. Not only does she have no fear, but she sees no ceiling on the potential for herself and every lady out there. (Photo via Brad Barket/Getty + Pinterest)

Hilary Mason, Data Scientist at Accel + Founder of Fast Forward Labs

@hmason): This native New Yorker makes beautiful things courtesy of data through her machine intelligence research company, Fast Forward Labs. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, she’s got a whole slate of other things going on as well. Hilary also advises companies big and small in regards to their data strategy for Accel, co-founded HackNY — a non-profit promoting engineering students in the startup community — and runs a photo-based blog based on her NY life. Yep, she’s busy, and we’re impressed. (Photo via Fast Forward Labs)

Ayah Bdeir, Founder of littleBits

@ayahbdeir): An engineer, interactive artist and a leader of the open source hardware movement, Ayah is the definition of girlboss. Her company is making inventing with electronics more accessible to anyone in the world, but her impressive resume doesn’t stop there. When not staying busy with littleBits she runs an experimental art, architecture and tech lab in Beirut called Karaj. You are indeed looking at an international boss lady. Limor Fried, Founder of Adafruit

@adafruit): Limor, an electrical engineer, founded the electronics hobbyist company that designs and resells open source electronic kits for every hobby hacker out there. Megan Smith, CTO of the United States

A former VP at Google, she is also an an award-winning entrepreneur, engineer and tech evangelist, and that’s just the top layer of her impressive portfolio. (Photo via Joi Ito/Flickr)

Reshma Saujani, Founder of Girls Who Code

@reshmasaujani): Author of Women Who Don’t Wait in Line, former Deputy Public Advocate of New York City and the first South Asian woman to run for Congress, Reshma is currently helping to inspire, educate and equip girls with computing skills to achieve greatness through her organization Girls Who Code. With her girl-power organization, she is encouraging young girls to achieve more, with the goal of providing 1 million young women with science education by 2020. #1millionstrong (Photo via Cindy Ord/Getty + Girls Who Code)

Gina Bianchini, Head of Mightybell

@ginab): This entrepreneur and investor is currently running the specialized social networking site Mightybell. She previously was involved in startup Ning and is an angel investor for Levo League. Caterina Fake, Founder of Findery and co-founder of Flickr

@caterina): Having helped to develop Flickr into what it is today as one of the co-founders, Caterina also started Hunch and the recently launched Findery, a space to share the places you love while exploring the world. Add in her positions on the boards of Creative Commons and Etsy, and we think it’s safe to consider this gal a juggernaut in the tech world. (Photo via Richard Morgenstein/Flickr)

Lara Hogan, Senior Engineering Manager at Etsy

@lara_hogan): In addition to her position at Etsy, the author of Designing for Performance stays busy, as she also runs a blog in her spare time to provide insights into her work + professional life, with a side of donut indulging. You can never have enough donuts ;) (Photo via Robin Marchant/Getty + Etsy)

Spring 2025 beauty is all about bold yet wearable, polished yet playful looks. From the return of the lip liner to fresh, nature-inspired nail and eye colors, this season’s trends blend nostalgia with modern minimalism. Expect soft, dramatic eyes, skincare-infused makeup, and lip liner that enhances without overpowering. These trends are all about embracing your natural features in an elevated, beautiful way so you glow, and look your best, all season.

Here are spring 2025 beauty trends to try this season.

City Lips® Defining Liner

Liner Revival

The lip liner trend for spring 2025 embraces bold definition with a fresh, modern twist. This season, it's about pairing rosy nudes with soft, lighter lip colors and rich, warm tones with deep browns and cherry reds for a sculpted, high-impact look. City Lips Defining Liner is our favorite new lip liner. It prevents color fading, smudging, and feathering, so you can keep your look intact all day or night! It’s available in two pretty shades: Blush, a soft, rosy nude that pairs beautifully with pink hues and lighter lip colors, and Willow, a rich, warm-toned nude that complements brown tones and deeper shades.

City Beauty

Multitasking Makeup

The trend toward skincare-infused makeup is making your beauty routine work harder with nourishing ingredients. City Lips Defining Liner features vitamin E, helping to keep the lip line smooth while subtly enhancing its shape for a fuller, more defined look. For the ultimate plump and polish, pair the pigmented liner with City Lips Plumping Gloss — a duo that gives you a naturally voluminous pout, plus extra hydration.

Pastel Pop

From butter yellow to sage green, this season’s nail trends are embracing soft, yet statement-making hues that bring a fresh pop of color. Alongside these chic shades, almond-shaped nails are offering a sleek, elegant look that flatters your mani aesthetic.

Monserrat Tosca | Dupe

'90s Nostalgia

A softer, smudged take on the classic cat-eye is making waves, with eyeliner staging a bold comeback in full, effortless sweeps. Blue eyeshadow is also back and better. Expect a nod to cool-toned, ’90s grunge eyes, a trend that lends itself to easy, minimalist lines, like a single, clean swipe of liner, proving that less can truly be more.

Claire Craig | Dupe

Lobs, Bobs & Natural Manes

Haircut season is in full swing, and lighter, fuss-free bobs at all above-shoulder lengths, plus natural curls, are making their way in and out of salons for spring. We couldn't be happier for the low-maintenance 'dos!

Katie Mansfield | Dupe

Satin Skin

This understated look highlights healthy, natural skin with a soft-matte finish — radiant, yet never flat or overly glossy.

City Beauty

Glossy lips, instead, shine this season. Upgrade your lip routine this spring with City Beauty’s new City Lips Defining Liner and lip glosses for a refreshed look.

Jenna Bush Hager chose Holly Gramazio's The Husbands as her book club's April pick in 2024 and it became an instant bestseller. Evidently, Apple TV took notice and decided it would be an excellent idea to adapt it into a new drama series! We're fond of adaptations here, so we're elated to this fresh storyline come to life. But, guess what else we're intrigued about?

The Husbands series has already found it's lead star in Ted Lasso and Fargo actress Juno Temple! Her characters are fan favorites, so we're sure she's going to do her lead role in this series justice.

What is 'The Husbands' about?

Amazon

The Husbands chronicles one woman's journey as she explores an ever-changing life with different men she's never met before. But this isn't a tale of reckless one-night stands. On the contrary, Lauren will be as confused as readers and viewers because she's not sure what's happening.

It all begins with her return to her home and the realization that a man who's strangely familiar with her is calling himself her husband. Unbeknownst to her, she's been married to Michael for a while despite not knowing who he is. What's even more ironic is that her friends think something's wrong with her because they know who her husband is.

In the midst of trying to decipher this phenomenon, Lauren's shocked when Michael disappears into the attic and a new man returns in his place. As she watches her surroundings change to accommodate life with him, Lauren slowly realizes her attic has created a portal that allows her to live out different fantasies with a revolving door of men. But, she'll have to ask herself what she really wants and if she's willing to hang on to one reality instead of wishing for more.

Has more cast information been released?

Diana Patient

Holly Gramazio, Author of The Husbands

We know Juno Temple will star in The Husbands, but there haven't been more cast announcements just yet (via Variety). There's so many options for the many spouses she could have which makes us want to dream about our own casting wishlist.

Who's the executive producers of the series?

Diana Patient

Holly Gramazio, Author Of The Husbands

According to Apple TV+, writer Miriam Battye (Succession) will be executive producing The Husbands with Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya), and Annie Marter of Fortunate Jack Productions (The Devil All The Time), author Holly Gramazio and A24.

We love when authors are allowed to give their input in TV or film adaptations!

When will 'The Husbands' premiere on Apple TV?

Production hasn't started on The Husbands TV series yet, but we'll share more information once it's available!

In our Take 5 series, sponsored by Verizon, we ask women in business about unexpected challenges, their inspirations, recent wins, and how the free Verizon Small Business Digital Ready Program has helped propel their business forward.

In this segment, Paige Wiese, founder & CEO of Tree Ring Digital in Denver, CO, walks us through some of the ways she encourages clients to double down on marketing when business is slow. Paige built her business as a solopreneur graphic designer to a team of 15, helping clients with SEO, online ads, and social media management. Here’s her Take 5, plus more tips for surviving the business lulls below!

What's a recent small win for you and your business?

Paige: A recent small win has been just seeing business pick up again. I am seeing businesses start to engage with their marketing efforts and really trying to get to the root of why their website might be underperforming. We look at what they can be doing to see their money actually go to a place that it should be going.

What's a big piece of advice that you give to your clients?

Paige: A lot of them want to back off anytime there's a little bit of scarcity. I really think that's the time to double down, whether it be your digital presence, your website, or just adjusting how you're spending your money. But instead of just saying, ‘Hey, we're going to stop [investing in marketing],’ ask ‘How do we double down in the correct way and make sure we're seeing measurable results out of it?’ I do it myself anytime business is a little slow. I think we have to either change or we need to be doubling down. A lot of clients come to us when the pipeline is already dry and money is tight and they’re hoping for a quick fix. Marketing, unfortunately, isn't a quick fix.

See more tips for surviving business lulls below!

What's an unexpected business challenge you’ve faced and how did you overcome it?

Paige: I think one of the bigger challenges that we've run into has been more on the employee side, some of the retention or the hiccups that come along the way and then just learning from them. So how can we be a better, stronger company coming out of this and how do we use it as a growing opportunity?

How has the Verizon Small Business program helped propel your business forward?

Paige: I learned about the Verizon Small Business Digital Ready program through the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC). It's a free resource that’s self-paced and very digestible. The variety of topics it covers is a large gamut for any size business. The Selling with Storytelling course, especially, was really valuable to me, just really getting your messaging out there. I laugh that I sometimes enjoy the marketing ones a little bit more just because it is a refresher or another take on how we do this.

Thanks Paige!

5 TV Shows To Watch After You Finish '1923' Season 2

Emerson Miller/Paramount+

Landman is on Paramount+ and stars Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie, Paulina Chávez, Demi Moore, Jon Hamm, Andy Garcia, and Michael Peña.

If you like your Westerns with a side of sci-fi, tune into Outer Range. This show follows the Abbott family, who are trying to protect their ranch while also reconciling their daughter-in-law's disappearance. But things get even crazier when a black void appears.

Outer Range is on Prime Video and stars Josh Brolin, Lili Taylor, Noah Reid, and Imogen Poots.

Hallmark Media

When Calls the Heart — Stream on Hallmark+

Stream Billy The Kid on MGM+ and see Tom Blyth, Eileen O'Higgins, Daniel Webber, and Alex Roe.

Ursula Coyote/Netflix

Godless — Stream on Netflix

Godless is the perfect show for 1923 fans because it reorients the cowboy narrative we're all familiar with. It follows a supposed traitor named Roy who's chased by a gang of outlaws to La Belle, a town nearly entirely governed by women after a mining accident killed almost all the husbands, fathers, and brothers.

Godless is on Netflix and stars Jack O'Connell, Michelle Dockery, Scoot McNairy, Merritt Wever, and Thomas Brodie-Sangster.

Will there be another series after 1923?

Paramount

There are a few more Yellowstone spinoffs on their way! In addition to the new show The Madison with Michelle Pfeiffer, it looks like we're also getting a spinoff about Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler.

What order to watch Yellowstone 1883 and 1923?

Emerson Miller/Paramount+

If you're new to the Yellowstone universe, you can watch the shows in chronological order or in release order, depending on how you want to experience the story. If you want to watch chronologically (my personal favorite), watch the shows in the following order:

  • 1883
  • 1923
  • Yellowstone

But if you want to watch in release order, watch this way:

  • Yellowstone
  • 1883
  • 1923

Princess Polly Cartmel Gingham Check Maxi Dress

This prairie-inspired dress is so sweet. It's got plenty of coverage, though the upper half fitted with a square neckline leans more femme and flirty. The flowy skirt just barely grazes the floor, enhancing the breeziness of the design! Plus, we adore that the gingham is a bit bulkier, as opposed to more micro patterns.

Reformation

Reformation Kiria Dress

This pick's complete with a totally-smocked bodice that hugs your upper half in the best way possible. It also comes down on your waist a bit further than you'd expect, supplying an elongating drop waist effect (which is super trendy at the mome). The cap sleeve-high neck combo feel undeniably cutesy together – we'd pair this dress with some ballet flats for an easy get-up.

Quince

Quince 100% European Linen Scoop Neck Midi Dress

This dress' silhouette is fairly simple, meaning you can style it in endless ways for spring and summer. No matter what you wear it with, it's especially nice on the waistline, thanks to the subtle pleating and stretchy, smocked back panel.

Urban Outfitters

Kimchi Blue Renee Smocked Maxi Dress

To amp up the feminine vibes even further, this maxi dress is dotted in illustrations of bows and lil' fruits that recall the spring season perfectly! The straps in the back make a criss-cross shape that's both pretty and practical for holding you in.

Abercrombie & Fitch

Abercrombie & Fitch Emerson Poplin Puff Sleeve Midi Dress

Abercrombie & Fitch simply kills it in the dress department every time. Case in point is this drop-dead gorgeous red gingham number that's elevated by some puff sleeves and a stylish tiered skirt. All the details found throughout this piece make it feel so whimsical and wonderfully comfy for spring outings.

Reformation

Reformation Elvira Dress

Bubble hem? Check. Open back? Check. This Reformation dress has it all, especially if you're all about taking on the latest fashion trends. It even has a subtle drop waist for an undeniable princess feel.

Nordstrom

The sleeves on this adorable green number come with ties for a unique detail you can't often find in other gingham maxi dresses.

Nordstrom

Dôen Emmaretta Gingham Pleated Voile Maxi Dress

With a milkmaid neckline, this maxi is downright dreamy. It's also tastefully embellished with some ruffles and bows up front, adding to the vibe even more. We'd rock this cutie with some white Mary Jane flats or even brown cowgirl boots to pair up with the sheer timelessness of gingham.

Abercrombie & Fitch

Abercrombie & Fitch Mila Stretch Midi Dress

The vertical seaming on this A&F dress give it a flattering quality, smoothing and shaping your waist to a tee. What's more is the cotton-blend fabric it's cut from is infused with a good amount of stretch to ensure it's comfy all day long!
